  • In this episode we take a basic 10k flatbed and show off tubular drive over fenders, rub rails, and show you STEP-BY-STEP how to DESIGN, BEND, NOTCH, and WELD a beautiful and functional removable winch mount to move dead vehicles and barn finds (and protect the tongue box). Please subscribe while you're here! We don't monetize our channel (make money on ads) - really!
A properly equipped trailer is a critical tool in the recovery arsenal for any off road enthusiast or auto restoration professional. This is now the perfect solution to picking up cars for late model auto repair or any other resto mod project.
We show you how to design bent tubing, how to notch accurately, how pulse MIG welding is different from short arc MIG, and more! You will see tips and tricks on making coplanar bends without any measurement tools, how to add angle to a bend, and also how to measure for notching pipes or tubes.

Here at RogueFab, we show you all the steps in making roll cages, race car frames, SFI cages, pro-touring tube work, bash bars, drift cages, and more. You can use our pipe bender or any other machine (like a vs JD2, Baileigh, Pro Tools, Pro Bender, Tube Shark, JMR, Eastwood, Harbor Freight, Hossfeld, Ercolina, or Pines) to follow our videos. We Know the difference between an affordable mandrel bender and a rotary draw tubing bender, because we make and use both in real life! These CNC machined dies and laser etched clamps in our M600 are made with pride here in the USA. Our channel is the best place for DIY projects, how to bend tube, and how to make money in metal fabrication and welding.

The only bad thing about having a mint trailer is that you will always have lots of mates that want to use it, I learnt that the hard way haha

I learned how to make a slick winch setup today. Also learned that your M600HD bender won't ever quit. With over 10,000 bends on it still going strong. Not one problem after hundreds of projects. Everybody that sees your bender in my shop winds up on your website and most of them buy one. You guys have the best products, thank you.

Nicely done video. I learned a few more things about metal fabrication and ways to use a tubing notcher.
The explanation about pulsed MIG was also good and I learned more about that.
The position you chose for the receiver tube is interesting and I'd be concerned about anything other than a straight load on it because anything angled could produce excessive loads at the weld joints and could break something. I would suggest locating that directly on top of the square tube so it would go right between the square and round tubes. Then I would add a couple of gussets between the receiver tube and the round tube. That arrangement should be able to handle just about any load from nearly any direction. That could be useful in a variety of off road and/or recovery situations.

I learned how handy the clamp blocks are.
When I did my trailer winch mount I didn't have a tool box to deal with, so I put the mount on the tongue side with my winch going in on the tongue side.. My warn 10k let's me swap the roller fairlead to either side of the winch. Or I could have swapped the winch in the cradle. The way I did it I can move the winch to my trucks and reroute the cable and have a fairlead in both sides if I wish. Just run the cable out the back side. This allows me to keep the bed clear. Great video, thanks
