Just so everyone knows, these machines still ship with very clear color printed instructions that say exactly how to assemble/weld/use the machine! This video is supplemental, not a stand alone assembly instruction. -Joe
Good video. Helped me decide to order the pre welded bender.
Great to hear!
Just finished welding my 605 together, this video was a huge help! I thought it was much less involved based on an earlier build version I watched from a few years ago that Joe welded together so I opted for the weld together kit. The process was pretty easy with the right tools but I wished I saw this video before ordering the 605. In my opinion it is definitely worth the additional charge to get one fully welded and powder coated!! Nice job on the video!
It’s so funny watching assembly videos on rogue fab be so loose and “close enough” with their assembly. But their directions stress accuracy and alignment 😂
The alignment of the holes in the uprights (left side to right side) determines nearly all of the performance of the machine that is driven by alignment. The base, hydraulic cylinder mounts (within a broad margin), and other parts can be halfway to outer space and the machine will perform the same. Maybe that helps explain why we express the alignment being critical? It is a shorter story to tell people to just take their time and be precise. -Joe
Put a little Anti-Spatter on the table,
makes the parts slide better and not as Screechy........
Very good idea for actual use AND for video related reasons... Thank you! -Joe
I know this machine is a day assembly kit "but" all slag and burr cleaning should've been already done at your shop before the kit was shipped ! Another thing, all parts should already be trial fit and already ready for assembly and if you should've sprung to have all the degree numbers and degree marks machined into that plate. That sticker can get scrapped off over time and that one sticker makes your machine seem really cheap ! Put a little extra into your machines parts slag cleaning and fitting notches so the channel fits really nice or better yet just adjust the laser cnc program to do it instead . CNC laser machines are really nice and accurate. As a steel fitter and welder for eighteen years I know if you can eliminate any fit-up issues at the cnc it be stupid not to. And I've even cleaned my share of plate and a laser doesn't leave that much and takes very little time to clean it up and if you took pride in your product you'd fix thoes problems and have a number #1 product.
We sell stainless steel degree bars if you don't like stickers. No problem! And the point of the kit is to save the customer money. If we trust them to weld it, we certainly can trust them to de-burr it. That is just more expensive shop-rate labor they get to save. We offer these as turn-key welded and powder coated for the guys that want to hit the ground running. -Joe
Music Volume on this Video is better...[lower]...
some of the earlier videos it was so high
it was hard to understand the narration.....
thanks guys...
Thank you very much for the feedback. It is really nice to help us *tune* the levels. These longer videos are dry as a paper fire without some tunes in the background. -Joe
That Miller machine is kick ass.....Great video
Thanks 👍
dam fine video, videography, edit, instruction, & craftmanship.
Damn y’all weld the absolute piss outta that thing don’t ya 😅🔥I didn’t figure it would need half that amount of weld to hold it together
It's almost as though you engineered it ;) All the extra weld is for the "just in case" if a guy who buys the weld together actually isn't a very good welder. There is a massive safety factor in the weld seam design. Good call, Dude! -Joe
It would be really helpful if you added chapters!
That is a good idea!
Fricken fedex and their chipping hammers😂
They are a dangerous tool! - Peyton
Is there a link to the 2nd video showing sticker placement?
well done
I edited the description. We have not made a follow up video yet. We do have a video showing the sticker (degree) install, here: ua-cam.com/video/msvHv3avv78/v-deo.html GET READY! It is an old hand-shot shaky video.... -Joe
7:00, love that AVOS Norton disc, I swear by them....especially the 7 inch ones. Bravo Guys......Paul in Florida
I have never seen the big OD ones! They are a game changer in the shop. We love them. -Joe
Very helpful, thank you!
Square on the uprights doesn't matter nearly as much as parallel and coaxial.
Great point! Thanks for spreading the knowledge
thankyou
Of course! Do you have our bender, or just wanted a peek behind the curtain? -Joe
31:50 Curious why you did not use a digital angle indicator
or level when checking for square.....or at least a longer square......
great video up to this point.....really enjoying seeing how you are
going about the fabrication......Cheers, Paul
Hey thanks for watching!
33:00... some of those Fireball magnetic shims would
be great for making sure you had 3 3/4" when welding,
as you could leave in place in more than one area.....
Great idea
Love your T-Slot table, instead of circular slots.....Bravo....
thank you
32:32 did not even need to put some hair on those holes to get the pins lined up.....Bravo
Thank you
What size welder would be the minimum to use?
175 Amps without preheat! -Peyton
