Rogue M625 Fabrication, Modification, Testing, and Bedazzling; Tubing Bender Build 2" DOM 1/4 Wall!

  • I built a Rogue M625 tubing bender, modify it, and try to break it with some 2" 0.250 wall DOM tubing, as well as bending quality test on 1" schedule 40 pipe as well as the 2" .250 DOM tubing. I also used it for what I needed it for on our 4x4 overland build Pontiac Safari Station Wagon project, bending the drag link (1.5" .250 DOM)
    This bender was bought in kit form, with the cart, die rack, 2hp HPU, and tubing notcher with mount. I modify it by replacing some channel with tubing, add gussets all around, wrap edges with KPMF wrap film, build custom hangers, and etc.

    When your building for proformace and aesthetics. The best looking tube bender I've seen. Looks great with the black and red. Great video

    The M625 is supposed to bend up to 2” solid bar. Rogue has a video on it. Pretty impressive.
    Very nice build. I love the extra touches you put on it.

      Thanks! It doesn’t even flinch at anything I’ve put in it. I can’t see ever needing a solid bar, but it’s nice to know it’ll do it if I do!

      @@DeathTollRacing Do you have the auto-stop for the pump? I’m thinking about getting the 2hp, but I’m trying to find out how easy it is to adjust the auto-stop.

    Speaking as a fitter / welder I bet that different die roll shelf two protrusions is to weld a plate there as a stop so as you start pulling your selected pipe rolling die off the full cradle your die will stop against that plate so you can get a better hold on the die with both hands so the die doesn't slip out of your hands with gloves on so the die doesn't slip out of your hands and hit the floor or your foot ! 😢

      It’s been a while since I built this, so I’m not following. I haven’t had an issue with any dies falling off as built though.

      @@DeathTollRacing the extra plate would serve as a slight stop for the die letting you roll the die out of the full cradle position to like a secondary cradle / stop to allow you to access the center hole on the die with a finger too as you roll the die into your other hand and lift the die to give you better control to help eliminate the die from slipping out of your hands so you don't accidentally drop it because the roller dies are very smooth and could slip out of your hand wearing gloves. Of coarse that's just my opinion. If you haven't already you outta call or email the company and ask them and see what they say.

    Rule of thumb, your weld is only supposed to be half the size of your thickest plate your welding together. So if your welding two 1/4" plates together your weld will only be 1/8". If your welding a 3/8" plate to a 1/4" plate your weld will be 3/16" unless directly specified by the engineer on their blueprints.

    • @DeathTollRacing
      @DeathTollRacing  6 місяців тому

      That’s a rule of thumb of specified by your employers / contract procedures, not a general rule across the board. Always refer to the procedures of the company contracting the work.

      @@DeathTollRacing I said to go by the drawings witch the weld size will be specified by the engineers. But, regardless of what you think, what I said about weld size is true. Don't take my word for it. Go do some thorough research and find out for yourself. But every drawing should specify weld size, weld placement, where every side to be welded is to be welded solid or skip welded .

      There's a lot more criteria to it than that. The aws books take up an entire bookcase. Like I said, it's a good rule of thumb, but it's appearing you'd rather argue. @@chriscox5568

    Hi Sir, you moved through the video well, good speed. Question: If you were to bend a roll bar with that bender how do you index or clock the bends to be the same on each side so the end line up on the floor correctly? Would you score the tube on the centerline and aline in the holding fixture that way? Not sure how clocking works on this bender. Also, does the holding fixture have line marks on it? Thank you Sir.

      I use this--- amzn.to/3MGspsY
      with this you will mark the top or side of the tube and reference all your bends off that mark (that would be on the last leg of the tube if your bending your loop)
      There are other ways, but I find this is the easiest. This method will also work on a horizontal bender.
      Your next question is easy. They have a chart for set backs so you know where your bend center is in relation to your block. They have a nice section on this page to show you the offsets. www.roguefab.com/bending-101/

    That thing turned out sweet! Why is the pump switched to turn the motor on and off with the hydraulic lever? It seems like that would be hard on it to me. I guess it's convenient though.

    • @DeathTollRacing
      @DeathTollRacing  Рік тому

      I'm actually going to address that soon. I agree, I don't like that either. It feels hard on it, but at the same time, once I'm more familiar with it, I probably wont have to pulse it so much.
