I've been using bend tech for years. I wish they would have put out videos like this "Step by Step" because it took me a long time to figure this out. I now have an A250 and I'm still learning more and more about the machine. Keep up the good work.
Great video but just a quick tip on the order of welding, you should have fully welded the centre tube fully first before adding the 2 diagonals that way the node is fully welded and at it's strongest 👍 always fully weld a tube before adding others to it
I would definitely recommend getting a rouge fab bender. I had Woodward bender basically same as jd and tried my buddys rouge fab bender, I bought one a week later. And you can get mandrel add on for very reasonable money. The rogue fab is legit.
Once you get the template traced to the tube (I use a scribe), you should try coping by using your plasma cutter by hand. Keep it pointed at the center of the tube as you move around the scribe! Works good.
Good or bad... The way I do the paper templates is get it in place much like you did, then I just wrap the end of tube and wrapper in clear packing tape and cut / grind through the claer tape back to the paper wrapper.
Quick question. When placing tube in the bender. Do you put the dimension from bend tech (bend line) on the horseshoe clamp or the edge of die set? I’m getting ready to finally use bend tech and I’ve always referenced my bend lines to the grind edge of the horseshoe clamp. Wondering if bendtech is the same way?
To solve distance to the start of the bend I put the mark on the die. I usually dial in the rotation with an angle cube to get the exact rotation in relation to the die.
why has no one designed a spring loaded stage 1 for the JD2 model 3?? you may give up a full pin hole on the die.... but how often do you bend 180 anyway?? and if so just unpin the stage 1 and finish the bend....
Get yourself a pipe vise and make a stand with casters on to clamp your tube in keeps it in same rotation Been useing bendtec for 10 years do 100s of bends a week in my shop Surprised you dont have a cheep holesaw tube notcher they work better than you think i use one for site work . Have a dragon 400 comming next month hope it works as well as it looks to
@@Anarchywild-ms2co I am not sure about the question. This design was for my own custom race truck. We did finish it and race it at the Baja 1000 and Mint 400…Vegas to Reno in 5 days.

Awesome content can’t wait for more 👍🏽
Man I really appreciate you putting out these very informative videos. 🍻
Still can’t believe you used paper templates to cut all the tubes for Honcho! - nice work.
Another excellent video!
Great information! Nice video. Clean shop. Thank you!
Amazing work.

What bend tech version are you using
What size is your Strong Hand table?
What design platform are you using?
