Sorry I missed yesterday's upload! I didn't realise how long this video was (and therefore didn't realise how long it would take to upload) so I just saved it for today instead. Valencrimes week will be until Monday now! 2 more days 💖
For sure. I think the dad hurt him in some way or he found his dad's photos and the parents either killed him themselves to shut him up or he committed suicide bc he couldn't live with it.
xotbirdox I think so too. I think they made up the hard drive with the ‘cult porn’ on it to make him be at the same level as his dad, which is why they can’t find it or any proof of it.
Agreed and the fact how specific they was about how much money he had on him and how much fuel he had when he went missing. What a suspect sometimes does is to talk about stuff that is not relevant to the case, to sound like they are innocent by giving away too much irrelevant information.
it makes sense too, you wanna feel good before you pass, look good, it’s the last thing you look like before you pass wouldn’t you wanna at least dress nice as well?
Truly I am shocked that the parents being guilty was not one of the theories. Pornographic images of kids? Mom still being with the father? The specific information they were giving to the police? The money? The previous mental breakdown? He was either abused and killed himself or found these pictures, tried to blackmail his dad and got killed for that
@@marisarodriguez9090 Honest question but why do you care about disrespecting his parents? I mean, unless I am missunderstanding this, the father had obtained child and Animal pornography! I am sorry but if that isn't worth dissrespect, I don't know what is...plus, I would not be suprised if he had abused his own son. That is typical for people who view child pornography...just saying...😕😕😕
Once I heard about the findings on his father's computer then how seemingly under their thumb Russell was at that time - they knew how much money and even how much gas was in his car - I got the feeling that at the very least his father could be involved in his disappearance. Maybe that explains the missing thumb drive - Russell discovered what his dad was into and was getting evidence to turn him in or tell his mother, but his father got rid of Russell and the thumb drive that could've had evidence on it.
My personal theory is more that he found the pictures on his dad's computer and found it so hard to deal with that he committed suicide. His parents were over compensating on details because they didn't want to admit the possibility that he'd been driven back into that dark place by something they had done.
especially bc *HIS FATHER TURNED OUT TO BE A S3X 0FF3ND3R* like I'm not trying to say anything, but uh what if his dad tried to d something resulting in him trying to run away
I have to at least point out that his dad having those pictures is EXTREMELY suspicious. The suicide theory does seem the most likely but keep in mind that his dad might have abused him when he was a child and maybe he couldn't live with it.
Beth x yes , they can’t act like they are ok with paying £1,200 and it not being search properly . Also the fact the dad had those pictures on his laptop 💻 just proves there is something wrong
@@emma3591 maybe they gave the police some shush money. his family was probably pretty wealthy if he had that much money to give to russell, but i might be overthinking it.
Gael Martin But they tried to sue the police for believing it was suicide ot looking at the third party theory instead of foul play, it doesn't make sense that would do that if they bribed the cops to cover up a crime. Them being responsible for his disappearance also doesn't make sense because they are too adamant that his disappearance is foul play\angry that the cops believe the opposite and they paid a ton of money for the cops to search the bunker which a person who is responsible for the disappearance would not do. A guilty person would be relieved and thrilled that the cops wrote off the disappearance as a suicide.
My brother committed suicide a few months ago. He seemed very happy. He was married, had an incredible internship opportunity, was about to finish engineering school in another year, and yes, WAS TALKING ABOUT THE FUTURE. He was talking about how excited he was to move into his own place with his wife (they were living with us for the time being), how he wanted to have a chicken coop and all of this stuff. Seriously, you can never tell how someone is feeling. Never. It breaks my heart to see families say these things, "my child would never kill themselves!". It's a deep kind of denial and I hope they find peace with the possibility that he may have done that.
Hakuna Matata I hope you don’t do anything like that cause I know people can get suicidal or want to self harm if someone in their family has died mind kill them self so stay strong
His parents’ insistence on the exact amount of gas and money he had makes me wonder if they were regularly snooping into his privacy and keeping tabs on that kind of stuff.
Right? If someone asked about my teens, I could estimate their walking around money and say I'd be surprised if if was more than X based of knowing their paychecks and when they hit me up for money. But honestly, that precise? Unless the reporters covering the story embellished that bit and it was just repeated
When I was diagnosed with depression as a teen my mom kept close tabs on me. Thats just unfortunately what happens when you have a child who is regularly thinking of harming themselves.
or they could've accidently knew it like maybe they wanted to borrow his car and then they realized it didn't have enough gas and for the money well some people when they're living with their family just tell them how much they have or if they have enough or need some extra. ( my dad used to always asked me before I go out and even if he forgot my mom would have told him to ask me if I had enough money or how much I have or etc.)
I think he committed suicide. His brown steel toe boots were to weight him down in the water so he'd never be washed up. I think his car was payed for an all day parking ticket because maybe his car was part owned with his parents and when he died he didn't want the parking fine to go to his parents. That could also be why they know how much petrol he had left in his car. When people finally decide that they want to commit suicide and find a place they're happy to do it they are happy all of a sudden and you see a change. My friend was suicidal and towards the end of his life he was the happiest we had seen him. You never know whats going on in someones mind.
Tbh we don't know what happened to him after he got there. He could've gotten a whole day pass so he could spend the day out there and truely decide if that's what he wanted to do. Maybe he decided alot quicker than he thought or maybe he did end up staying the day there. For one, they said he couldn't have had enough money for gas, but they said he used his card 3 times before he left town, but never said what he bought. What if he got gas? Alot of people saying his parents had something to do with it, bc his dad is pedophile. But why would they pay $120,000 to have the bunker opened (knowing there was no way in) unless they were desperate for closure. Also where in this video does it say his dad is a pedophile, bc I must've missed that one..?
Brittany King I’m sorry for your loss. Losing someone to mental health is never easy. I agree with the theory. As soon as I head about the tape, my first thought was, they need to get that kid to a doctor. It doesn’t sound like his depression was ever treated, and as someone who suffers, I know, it never goes away. It eases up sometimes but it’s always there. I think that’s what happened to this kid too. Even with treatment some people lose the fight. Sorry about your friend.
steel toed boots wouldn’t be heavy enough to weigh him down in the water. they only weigh up to 5lbs regardless of size/material. and 5lb boots aren’t going to weigh down an adult man.
What about his dad I mean; he’s got those pictures on his computer and his parents being so specific (almost to specific) about the details of what he was wearing etc...
I was looking for this comment. Maybe he found what his dad was hiding and either A. Ran away in fear B. His dad did something to him C. Maybe he committed suicide because he didn't want to hold this secret
I totally think the parents did it. I think he found that stuff on the computer, and the dad bribed him with 300k. Maybe Russel refused, maybe he was going to tell somebody, idk, but I think the parents conspired to get rid of him instead. And I also think the mom was in it. The shoes he was wearing were found in the holiday home, which makes me think that the parents swapped his shoes, and they’re just too specific with the details
I've been watching her videos constantly while I'm at work for like two weeks. I started with her first true crime videos and working my way up in her True Crime Playlist lol
I just discovered Eleanor's Twitter and it's like I got access to a brand new dimension. So far I knew her only from crime videos. My little soul and karma were shook.
It sounds like the parents knew many odd details about their son. What if he was led to commit suicide because his parents were overwhelmingly controlling.
Kids don't just kill themselves because their parents are overprotective. He was 18, he could have easily left. My mom knew odd things about me when I was a teen and still does. Nothing they did implies they were bad parents. Maybe his dad was sexually abusing him and the mom didnt know. Maybe thats why he's gone
@@syd1764 some individuals will commit suicide. If they have strict parents, even though they can just run away, it gives them a sense of control if they’re able to commit, and it makes them feel almost as if they’re at a more peaceful place so they won’t have to consistently run I’m not arguing with you by any means. I think that this theory fits very well, because it is kind of odd that his father had indecent images of child porn and nobody did anything. The police work sucks in this case so bad like I could use it as a vacuum for how bad they suck. Like imagine if he was in that bunker and the cult had taken him with intention to harm him and they killed him in there or sacrificed him or whatever people think satanic is, it’s not any of that though, but just imagine if that’s what had happened they would’ve been so late and it would’ve been their fault

Eleanor is so respectful. She has the most significant disclaimers as other UA-camrs would simply “forget”. I doubt Eleanor will see this but if you do, never change and keep being yourself. Some people are so sick and disturbed but you inform it so politely. Thank you once again, Bee Xxxxx Edit: Lol I love reading the fight in my replies to this comment 😂😂
is there any evidence saying he didn't find out his dad was a sex offender and out of shame, he left? or that his father didn't hurt him, or know that he'd found the photo's and made his son leave? it would explain why he never contacted anyone as well. Maybe the reason he left was the relative that sent his dad the images? i think there's more to do with the family, since they know so many specific details. that, or they're really possessive. maybe his dad acted on being a sex offender and did something disgusting to russell, and he couldn't face living with his father, so he asked someone to help him disappear. that could be why he didn't tell anyone where he went the day before, because he didn't want his dad trying to stop him, he could have been with the person who was helping him get away. his dad could have been giving him that money to keep russell quiet. or maybe because of how ashamed he was, he killed himself, not just ran away
how they weren't suspicious with the dad I don't know they just put him on the sex offenders and that was it, he could have had something to do with it
Unfortunately I think he committed suicide too, but also that the parents had something to do with it. Perhaps Russell found the photos his dad had and threatened to expose him and they actually offered him the £300,000 to silence him? That could also explain why they were keeping such a close eye on him, perhaps they became very controlling (monitoring how much money and petrol he had) out of fear. Then possibly it all became too much for Russell and the day he went driving around different spots he was trying to work out where to take his life and eventually decided on the place he did as he was more familiar with the area if he really was obsessed with the bunker? I'm not sure but either way, sadly I don't think he is still alive
100%, not to throw out allegations, but his fathers history with indecent images of children... there could've been some abuse which contributed to him taking his own life sadly.
Totally agree. How did they know the minute details about the £10 or the exact amount of petrol in the tank. Were the parents ever investigated in regards to his disappearance?
I know this is sad to think about but what if the dad sexually abused him and that’s why he ran away or commit suicide I meant u said he had pictures of children Edit: that is the most likes I’ve ever got thanks ❤️
I thought that, or he found the pictures and was disgusted and maybe thats why he was offered all that money to start a project, to buy his silence and make him stay.
3.8 is a very specific amount... 10 pounds is specific. This all seems... specific. Somebody knows something. There’s more to this than anyone is letting on
Hey! Long time watcher first time commenter. From listening to your accounts, it seems like the police might know or have a hunch about something that they're not saying publicly, maybe even to the family. Is it possible that Russell had a good reason to run away and they recognise he's better off not found by his old life? Maybe he's out there living his best life now.
I feel this is a strong theory I mean the things found in relation to his father don’t seem to be linking at all to Russell and it’s awful to think but maybe his relationship with his father wasn’t a typical one. No disrespect to the family but a possible theory.
I had the same thought, except in the context of motivations he might have for committing suicide. Also, the way they have such exact knowledge of everything he has or does is a red flag to me.
I don't think that's the case, if the police did find him alive but he didn't want anything to do with his old life they would have said "he's alive and doesn't want to be found" and closed the case to avoid wasting any more resources on it.
“Whatever a cult does... I don’t know I’m not in one” had my screaming😭 like yes Eleanor, we immediately would think you were in a cult if you didn’t clear that up😭😭😭
What if there was information that would incriminate his Dad on that USB too, and that's why it's never been found. The fact his parents knew 'exactly' how much petrol and money too screams controlling behaviour, to know how much petrol down to the exact units I just find really odd unless they were literally controlling every aspect of his life
Exactly what I said lol they knew how much bc they only allow him enough each day to go to college and back, I reckon hes alive and just got the hell outta there lol
'Controlling every aspect if his life' sounds very, hmmm, cultish behaviour to me. Not accusing anyone of anything, but that turn of phrase does make my brain go to a cult place.
The fact that he has a SPEACH DISORDER THAT MAKES HIM SAY “YES” to things he means “NO” to… sounds like the parents traumatized him explaining why he was depressed, the whole time the family were suspicious. Hmm
This sounds really similar to my brother’s suicide. He put $200 cash on the counter for his car payment, left no note, took my stepmom’s gun, and then drove aimlessly. In his car, we found a change of clothes, gloves, and a hat. He didn’t know what he was going to do tbh, he was really lost. He drove into a neighborhood and parked his car. He just walked a bit thinking and then found the place where he wanted to do it in the woods. I believe this sounds like a suicide because my brother was really excited for his upcoming plans and all he was going to do, just like Russell and all the plans he had as well, etc. Such a sad story.
I am so sorry for your loss. My ex husband made plans, confirmed vacation plans, went to the ATM - normal smallish amount- got coffee and a muffin before he committed suicide. He made the same kind of jokes the last time we talked. Later I learned he faced some legal issues but stuff that a calm mind would see as nothing money and time would not work out. It wasn't like he was facing jail or anything. He was a stand up comedian. He wrote for comedians and taught/directed people who are household names. Suicide doesn't always look like you might expect.
hey Eleanor, please could you cover the case of Daniel Pelka, a four year old boy who was starved and brutally abused by his parents, he was starved for 9 months approximately it’s a very very sad case and very close to home as the boy didn’t live far from me at all must’ve been atleast 5 minutes down the road. Love your true crime Eleanor💓
This case needs to be covered. It’s so important that the public hear about these kind of cases so that people can be aware to look out for even tiny discrepancies that could save an abused child!
If his dad was in possession of “inappropriate photos” including child pornography, is it a possibility he was being abused? Or if he was abused when he was younger and suffered from PTSD? Considering his father got the images from a “family member”, he could have been abused by one or more people close to him. He could have been struggling with that on top of his depression/ stress from school. Maybe he went back to his holiday home one last time and then chose to end his pain.
This case made me cry. Boys your mental health matters!! Please reach out, you are loved, you matter, it gets better! I promise everything will be okay in the end, if it’s not okay it’s not the end❤️
Agreed Bethany, boys are ignored & tortured in some form everywhere. Not that the law works but at least there are some for females, but none for boys at all.
My theory; Maybe the parents knew what he was wearing and how much petrol he had because, They killed him? Okay so listen, His dad is a sex offender, which means maybe he did something to Russell, Maybe Russell threatened to tell, and then his dad offered him that money to keep him quiet, But Russell refused and that's why he didn't have the money yet. So his father decided he'd just have to get rid of Russell. And that's why they were pressing for them to check the bunker, because they KNEW he wasn't there but it was distracting them from where he really might be. Maybe the dad filled his tank with that much gas, dumped his dead body on the 30 mile mark, filled the car then went to the holiday home and put his clothes there. Then got a train or a bus or something back, [which can't be tracked if you like burn or throw away your ticket, i'm assuming.] And especially if the dad is a sex offender, and in the bunker there's sexual pictures? Idk i know my theory is quite grim but..idk...
Agree! I think dad maybe had something to do with it not sure about his mum? Or there was money left at the holiday home and he skipped and changed his name sounds preposterous but stranger things have happened!
I either think Russell was abused, mom was complacent, or he discovered his father's laptop lechery and couldn't live with it. The fact that they knew *exactly* how much gas and money he had on him seemed strange.
It could be something to do with the parents as it’s a bit suspicious how they “know” how much petrol he had and how much money he had also it is weird how the usb went missing and they could have been using the shoes as a way to cover something up I just think the parents are a bit suspicious Wrote this before I heard the theory but I think that’s what I believe
The parents are definitely acting a bit strange but if they had something to do with it I feel like they would be satisfied with the police saying it is a suicide, as opposed to having them still investigate
Alexa hmmm true but maybe not to look suspicious and they just know the police is never gonna find something maybe that’s why they had no problem telling them to continuing to search
Yes and no, I’ll be honest now I’ve not watched the video yet as I’m scared to. My brother was best friends with Russell and I remember it all like it was yesterday, I’m not sure if she mentioned his disability or not. But his parents knowing how much petrol he had could have been because Russell had learning difficulties and they were in charge of his car and finances. This is why they knew how much money he had, he’d told my brother that they gave him x amount before he left for college. Honestly I think his mum mothered him and did a lot for him like taking care of his car giving him money as a way of protecting him, caring for him. I remember him being a little odd but harmless. When all this happened it destroyed my brother, he doesn’t like to talk about it even now. Hope this helped. Now I just need to be brave and watch this video.
“he’s an 18 year old boy. he’s allowed to go out for the day if he wants to” lmaooo tell that to my parents. I’m 22 and my parents still need to know where I am at all times😂
My mom was like that, although she's chilled out over the years and stopped being as overbearing. My grandpa on my dad's side was the worst about it. I'm the eldest out of all the grandchildren and he was just so overprotective to the point where I couldn't even use the bathroom without him asking 20 questions or to the end of the driveway to check the mail and this was when I was around 19 or 20 years old at the time. He was never like that with my cousins and sister, all of who were younger than me. I still miss him sometimes though. Maybe it was because I was the first grandchild that he was so much more overprotective of me than he was with his other grandchildren.
I’m obviously very late to this party, having just now watched this video and perhaps these thoughts are now irrelevant, but there is an aspect of this that has me curious. Who gives a young man who is still in college, that much money to start a business? Given what was found on his dad’s computer, what if he had also experienced that sort of abuse and had been threatening to tell someone? (Also, speech impediments are sometimes the result of early childhood abuse.) And what if he possibly had proof of the abuse on that flash drive? What if the large sum of money was offered in exchange for his promise of silence? Did anyone check to see if that much money was actually even in an account to be made available for him? What if he changed his mind and told them that he would not stay silent any more, and that he didn’t care about the promise of money? Perhaps that is a motive to silence him in another way? If so, having someone park his car at a “known suicide spot” would be a way to turn attention in that direction. No disrespect intended to anyone, these are just some thoughts while looking at all possible scenarios. This was a very informative video... well done.
Yes I agree. I feel like suicide could definitely be a possible explaination however it doesn’t explain why he would drive to all these spots, and also why he brought two pair of shoes with him. It just doesn’t make a lot of sense
No cctv ? Not checking the shops he went to in bradford and york where his card was used and what he bought? No talking to his friends nand seeing if anyone else was missing that day?
I want to know what he bought too, surely the police know? And did he know anybody in those places? Everywhere he goes seems to have noteable military/historical connections except bradford - was he just passing through and justt stopped for a sandwhich or something? They should make this info public
i haven’t watched this video yet so i’m not sure what eleanor’s talked about. but from what i know the bunkers were concreted when the base was sold to a private owner and after they’d found that they were being used by a cult, i’m not sure around what time they were concreted as i think the cult was around in the 70s or something idk but there’s pretty new pics of the bunkers on google images without concrete on them. i just asked my boyfriend as i’m typing this and he said he thought they were concreted around the time of russel’s disappearance but that’s just what he’s heard. i think the farmer was really reluctant for searches to be done and wasn’t cooperating with police so they had to use some sort of thermal camera thing to look in the bunker which obviously wouldn’t matter if there was a dead body in there. also im pretty sure the farmer made the family pay to open the bunkers at some point which imo is a bit weird. there was also talk around the village and i think i read somewhere about them flooding the bunker but i dont really know what happened with that. there’s also a youtube vid of some guys exploring the bunkers (i think this was before russell went missing, not sure though icr when it was posted but it’s easy to find on youtube) where they come in contact with the farmer and he went pretty crazy about them trespassing. me, my boyfriend and a few of his friends went up to the bunker in summer last year to have a look round (we literally almost got trampled by cows lmao) and there’s a way down into the bunker on top of one of the building things. the entrance has been sealed but there’s like an open metal roof thing that you could climb down, i have a pic on my twitter of my bf and his friends sat on it (@daddyanais) where you can see the opening. my boyfriend wanted to grapple hook down and go in but i wouldn’t let him because honestly what a stupid idea hahaha. but yeah literally everyone in the village thinks the farmer is dodgy and so is the place and everyone’s parents tell their kids not to go up there and stuff, personally i think the farmer had something to do with it but idk. lmao anyway sorry for the huge reply, sry if none of it makes sense and all of this has been said in the vid i havent watched it yet and im trying to type super fast lol
Genuinely, these videos have been my favourite atm on UA-cam. I’ve kinda been binge watching your videos, sorry not sorry oops 🤪💗 thank you for blessing me constant videos this week for Valentines 💒✨
The fact that the father is a sex offender (in the paedo field..) points to possible abuse to me.. maybe when he was younger and may be to do with his speech problem too etc..
I think it was a suicide. It sounds like maybe his family were a bit controlling in his life (hence why they were so sure how much fuel and money he had) so it would make sense for him to hide depression and suicidal feelings from them. Everyone loves a conspiracy but usually the simplest answer is right.
Did the police not check how much fuel was left in the car? If the family was so sure it was that exact amount wouldn't you check to see if he did in fact run out of gas or if he did get more? Also why wouldn't you forensically search the car and the ticket, and check any surveillance around to see if it was him that left the car? The boots showing up 2 years later just seems so suspicious, didn't the family go up there back when he went missing and they found out he had searched for the place? Wouldn't they have seen the boots then? As far as where the car was left, what better place to leave the car if someone had killed him then near a cliff that was known for people going there. It'd be the easiest way to draw attention to the possibility of suicide.
If he took 2 pairs of boots - wouldnt the other pair be in the car? They dont mention what they found in there. What are the chances that some other person so recently after his dissappearance would also be wearing brown steel toed boots on that shore? I wonder if they compared shoe size and the brand especially if issued by the college they would know that information
why would he buy an all day ticket if he planned on killing himself 🤔 why buy a ticket at all (Edit: finally watching the end and realise u already said this lol soz eleanor)
People who aren't confident in their desires to kill themselves. Two years ago I attempted suicide by slitting ny wrists in the bath. I always lock the bathroom door but that day I didn't. At the time I didn't out thought into it, but looking back apart of me was scared and didn't want to die. And it was thanks to that door bwing unlocked that I was discovered and rushed to the hospital. I think he killed himself but I also think he was scared and unsure. Maybe he bought it just in case he changed his mind.
Amelia Winchester wow, that happened to me too. I chose to take pills, I was in my bedroom and I often think why the hell didn't I lock the door? I always had my door locked and this time I just didn't. My boyfriend said if he came home and my car was there but our door was locked he would have known something was wrong and broke down the door, but either way.
Amelia Winchester wow im so sorry u went through that and so happy for you that you’re still here. yeah i completely get that actually it makes a lot of sense. im still confused why he got a full day though?? maybe a few hours but im so baffled why he bought a whole days worth
It sounds to me like the family is involved, just with the way they're so sure about the details and the fact the dad had indecent images of children and animals 😥
Took them three years to open that bunker someone could have cleaned up all of Russell's stuff then if he did get in the bunker someone could have closed that space off to make it look like he was never there
18 and allowed to go where you want without questions? Not in Hispanic families. I'm 20 and I have to tell me my parents: where, when, how, with who, be back at 10 if your in town, and 11 if you went to another city.
Not uncommon in the UK I don’t think. I moved out at 17, so didn’t answer to anyone. A lot of young teens/adults move out young or even if they live at home I assume it would be a case of ‘Mum/Dad I’m doing ‘this’ today will be back by whatever time. But I don’t know maybe it’s just me 🤣🤷🏼♀️
Mister Physics Mister Physics 🙄🤔 no it’s about giving your child independence, at some point they will have to learn independently anyway. You could be in your 30’s, 40’s etc and be raped and killed. Likewise, you could be in your early teens, just like a lot of young people in Eleanors videos and be raped and murdered, they would be living at home. Your comment is ignorant.
Mister Physics also, I think sometimes parents that are too ‘up in their kids business’ end up pushing that child away. When you get to a certain age you want to live with more freedom.
Depression does come back, there was a point in my life where I had been depressed for 3 years throughout middle school, and it had gone away for 2 years afterwards, but I had come to the realization that I was depressed again without even knowing it. I do believe that played a big part in this case.
The dad and or the man may have murdered him and parked the car there cause it will look like a suicide and the dad also knew that he liked the bunker so it looks like it was his choice. That could be why the parents know so strange details but I’m not sure but that’s my opinion that could be also a theory said but I’m not finished with the video Edit: the parents may have googled it too!
Eleanor: they only searched the outside of the bunker. Why didn’t they search the inside Also Eleanor: what they think they would find when they searched it? He couldn’t even get in
i think personally he committed suicide. i think the parking ticket is significant because he may have bought it with the intention of having 24 hours to mull over his thoughts. if he changed his mind, he would just get back in the car and go home. if he decided to commit suicide, it wouldn't matter, and his car would be found anyway. i think maybe he chose to buy a parking ticket as an escape. i also think his parents are very weird, but i think they have blamed the third party so much because they dont want to blame themselves for his suicide. its possibly easier for them to think he didn't want to die and there was foul play, rather than admit that they didn't know or they knew but ignored the signs.
throughout the WHOLE case I was so suspicious of the parents.I'm not trying to say that it was them but they were so specific about the money and the petrol in his car that it seems TOO perfect and precise, im 14 and my parents don't ever have a clue whats in my pockets aha. great video ilyx
My sister is 27 and my parents always know how much money she has and roughly how much petrol she has, because they’re very close when it comes to that. Depends on the relationship between parent and child. However, it is a bit suspicious
Hey Eleanor!!! I wanted you to know that I watch a lot of true crime stories on UA-cam made by a lot of different UA-camrs and you, are by far, the most thorough, well informed, the most put together in the information you give out of the rest. I'm a big fan and I'm really grateful for you and what you do! :) ♡
I believe he discovered his father’s sick pictures in his computer and got pretty depressed about it. That’s way he committed suicide. Poor guy, may he rest in peace!
If he did commit suicide: he might have paid for the parking to make sure no one looked for him right away. Or he might have just been exploring the area and fell on accident.
My husband confirmed his vacation plans and bought coffee and muffin right before committing suicide. I think some go through the motions of living - either through habit or expectation- right up to the end. I also think an accident might have happened.

Krystal Tazouti same! I still often find myself binge watching videos on that case and bam i wake up scared from dreaming i found someone pushing her in the freezer.
I binge Eleanor videos and honestly never comment, but I just felt compelled to say I 100% believe his family has SOMETHING to do with it. They are wayyyyyy too suspicious.
I wonder if his dad had molested him and that was part of his depression. Maybe he was having urges and had pictures on the USB that was missing and he knew it was wrong and just couldn't deal with it and decided to take his life...
@@rpm9440 sometimes when young men are molested and grow up in that sort of environment (keep in mind another family member was also a pedophile) they sometimes become pedophiles themselves when they grow older. I'm not sure why, it might be a way of normalizing and coping with the trauma they went through as kids or because it was their first sexual encounter it subconsciously makes them think this is how a normal sexual relationship is. So Russell may have been molested as a child by his family members and as he grew up and reached sexual maturity he started to think about molesting kids himself so instead of becoming like his family he killed himself.
The cult was so out of the picture, members so old, nothing incriminating for any members in artwork...they wouldn’t have given A SHIT if he had their ‘art’ saved!

This is really interesting but I’m kind of confused about the bunker....if it was sealed shut with concrete what would’ve been the point in opening it??
There is more than one way in,I used to live in that village and been down into that bunker quite a few times as a kid,it’s not somewhere you’d go alone, and it’s pretty dangerous. I personally found things in there that pointed to satanic goings on such as homemade robes and masks, strangely arranged candles and symbols on the floor etc. Parts of it are flooded and it would have been very easy to fall in. It’s an extremely creepy place.
Personally i don't find it that odd that his parents were sure he only had £10 in cash and 3.8l petrol in his car, i know that i myself have had conversations with my parents along the lines of me saying 'i only have £10 and half a tank petrol to last me till pay day' so it is possible he could have had a conversation like this with his parents a day or so before he went missing and just been more specific with the petrol amount, and that his parents are simply clinging onto this conversation they had with him because they don't want to believe he had the tools to get him to the location where he was and to kill himself as that is the last thing any parent would want to think of their child.
It's kool to see how Eleanor started out because I discovered her about a year ago maybe a little less and she's awesome! Please continue to educate us 😊

I have a weird feeling the parents had something to do with it.
Emma Flan THIS!
I think so too! The fact that they knew so many specific details to like cover things up makes me suspicious about them
with the suicide theory: he was also dressed super nice. that’s very common for people to do before they commit suicide
sarah *nicole* is there a reason why?
åndreåFT åndreå it’s so that they look nice if their body is found
@@larlyfrear149 really? Never heard that before..
åndreåFT åndreå they do it as a comfort kinda thing, like a final good bye, some people tidy their room or shower and get dressed up
it makes sense too, you wanna feel good before you pass, look good, it’s the last thing you look like before you pass wouldn’t you wanna at least dress nice as well?
Truly I am shocked that the parents being guilty was not one of the theories. Pornographic images of kids? Mom still being with the father? The specific information they were giving to the police? The money? The previous mental breakdown? He was either abused and killed himself or found these pictures, tried to blackmail his dad and got killed for that
That’s exactly what I was thinking. No disrespect to his parents but it seems very odd.
Exactly my thoughts
Personally, I think he either committed suicide, or that his family has a darker side to them. They are very suspicious
exactly!! how would they know anything about his gas and money unless they directly asked him
I was thinkin the saaaameee thing 🤣!! The family sounds too sure
His dad had child porn on his computer so definitely dark
I think his father should have been looked into he had something to do this

I have to at least point out that his dad having those pictures is EXTREMELY suspicious. The suicide theory does seem the most likely but keep in mind that his dad might have abused him when he was a child and maybe he couldn't live with it.
not to discredit his parents, but i believe they know a lot more than they’ve shared. i truly believe they play a big part in russell’s disappearance
Beth x yes , they can’t act like they are ok with paying £1,200 and it not being search properly . Also the fact the dad had those pictures on his laptop 💻 just proves there is something wrong
They sound a lot like their trying to cover something up. It’s weird they’re so positive that a third party was involved.
@@emma3591 maybe they gave the police some shush money. his family was probably pretty wealthy if he had that much money to give to russell, but i might be overthinking it.
Gael Martin But they tried to sue the police for believing it was suicide
ot looking at the third party theory instead of foul play, it doesn't make sense that would do that if they bribed the cops to cover up a crime.
I totally agree. They seemed so sure of many things and I feel like they covered up a couple of things that were brought up
My brother committed suicide a few months ago.
I am sorry for your loss. May his spirit be free and joyful forever.
Hakuna Matata Sorry For your loss ☹️❤️Xo
Sorry
May his soul Rest In Peace
Hakuna Matata I hope you don’t do anything like that cause I know people can get suicidal or want to self harm if someone in their family has died mind kill them self so stay strong
Hakuna Matata I’m so sorry about your brother my heart goes out to you and your family ❤️

The only thing about the boot theory is when the shoe with a foot in it washed up the DNA didnt match.
Jessica Watson maybe he found the stuff on his dads computer and they had to silence him.
I though same
Agreed. Dad is suspicious
I was looking for this comment. Maybe he found what his dad was hiding and either
A. Ran away in fear
B. His dad did something to him

Me: “hmmmmm suspicious”
is there any evidence saying he didn't find out his dad was a sex offender and out of shame, he left? or that his father didn't hurt him, or know that he'd found the photo's and made his son leave? it would explain why he never contacted anyone as well. Maybe the reason he left was the relative that sent his dad the images? i think there's more to do with the family, since they know so many specific details. that, or they're really possessive. maybe his dad acted on being a sex offender and did something disgusting to russell, and he couldn't face living with his father, so he asked someone to help him disappear. that could be why he didn't tell anyone where he went the day before, because he didn't want his dad trying to stop him, he could have been with the person who was helping him get away. his dad could have been giving him that money to keep russell quiet. or maybe because of how ashamed he was, he killed himself, not just ran away
a convincing theory. I completely agree his parents have more involvement in what has happened to him.
They found out after he disappeared
i was thinking the exact same thing
sydney maybe his father thought Russell was no threat as long as he was blackmailing him to keep quiet.
how they weren't suspicious with the dad I don't know they just put him on the sex offenders and that was it, he could have had something to do with it
Unfortunately I think he committed suicide too, but also that the parents had something to do with it.
Yes exactly...
I think he found those photos too. It's just too coincidental that he went missing and the father was a pedo.
@@Firebug7191 yes very suspicious...
This is my theory too. I agree 100%, it makes a LOT of sense

I believe poor Russell Bohling committed suicide. However, I think his father had something to do with it, if you catch my drift.
I know this is sad to think about but what if the dad sexually abused him and that’s why he ran away or commit suicide I meant u said he had pictures of children
Edit: that is the most likes I’ve ever got thanks ❤️
I thought that, or he found the pictures and was disgusted and maybe thats why he was offered all that money to start a project, to buy his silence and make him stay.
This is honestly what I was thinking during the video. I think that the police should’ve looked into his dad after they found the child porn.
A n d the parents were "so sure" about things that seemed *off* ....hmmm? I agree the dad needs to be re-evaluated! 😕
....and how much gas was LEFT in the vehicle when it was found???
I was just coming to make the same suggestion.

Dark but makes a lot of sense.
Same here
3.8 is a very specific amount... 10 pounds is specific. This all seems... specific. Somebody knows something. There’s more to this than anyone is letting on
maybe his parents were so controlling that it fed into his depression, leading him to suicide
theyd have to be constantly checking his room and personal belongings to even know about the cult pictures
Oh my . You are so right .
Also, the way they have such exact knowledge of everything he has or does is a red flag to me.
you were on facts right? miss you guys
I don't think that's the case, if the police did find him alive but he didn't want anything to do with his old life they would have said "he's alive and doesn't want to be found" and closed the case to avoid wasting any more resources on it.

What if there was information that would incriminate his Dad on that USB too, and that's why it's never been found. The fact his parents knew 'exactly' how much petrol and money too screams controlling behaviour, to know how much petrol down to the exact units I just find really odd unless they were literally controlling every aspect of his life
Yes I agree with you
Exactly what I said lol they knew how much bc they only allow him enough each day to go to college and back, I reckon hes alive and just got the hell outta there lol
Hmm
that makes sense

I can definitely see someone suiciding if their father was a child predator who may or may not have victimized Russell. Heartbreaking story
Such a sad story.
i'm so sorry this happened, best wishes
I am so sorry for your loss.
My ex husband made plans, confirmed vacation plans, went to the ATM - normal smallish amount- got coffee and a muffin before he committed suicide. He made the same kind of jokes the last time we talked. Later I learned he faced some legal issues but stuff that a calm mind would see as nothing money and time would not work out. It wasn't like he was facing jail or anything. He was a stand up comedian. He wrote for comedians and taught/directed people who are household names. Suicide doesn't always look like you might expect.
I think his family did something to him.

I definitely think a third party, most likely his family, was involved.

Love your true crime Eleanor💓
Shannon Gradkowska I suggested this a long time ago! Glad someone else asked for it too x
This case needs to be covered. It’s so important that the public hear about these kind of cases so that people can be aware to look out for even tiny discrepancies that could save an abused child!
Oh god no
If his dad was in possession of “inappropriate photos” including child pornography, is it a possibility he was being abused? Or if he was abused when he was younger and suffered from PTSD? Considering his father got the images from a “family member”, he could have been abused by one or more people close to him. He could have been struggling with that on top of his depression/ stress from school. Maybe he went back to his holiday home one last time and then chose to end his pain.
This case made me cry. Boys your mental health matters!! Please reach out, you are loved, you matter, it gets better! I promise everything will be okay in the end, if it’s not okay it’s not the end❤️

My theory;
Maybe the parents knew what he was wearing and how much petrol he had because, They killed him?
I don't know why the parents would then draw attention to that place if they really did dump Russell there?
I think you have something here. Perpetrators love to be heavily involved.
Agree! I think dad maybe had something to do with it not sure about his mum? Or there was money left at the holiday home and he skipped and changed his name sounds preposterous but stranger things have happened!
Maybe his dad was part of that cult 😬
I either think Russell was abused, mom was complacent, or he discovered his father's laptop lechery and couldn't live with it. The fact that they knew *exactly* how much gas and money he had on him seemed strange.
It could be something to do with the parents as it’s a bit suspicious how they “know” how much petrol he had and how much money he had also it is weird how the usb went missing and they could have been using the shoes as a way to cover something up I just think the parents are a bit suspicious
Wrote this before I heard the theory but I think that’s what I believe
Controlling as hell maybe?
Eleanor is the true crime queen. She sets the bar high for the other true crime channels.
I think his parents killed him and that's how they know how much money he had and how much petrol there was in his car.
“he’s an 18 year old boy. he’s allowed to go out for the day if he wants to”
lmaooo tell that to my parents. I’m 22 and my parents still need to know where I am at all times😂
Girl same I don't even live with my parents but they call me everyday to see where I am 🤣
Exactly, I need to let my parents know where I am at all times
Same & I'm almost 30 lol
LOL. As they should. (mom of a 15 yr old daughter and a 26 yr old daughter). :)
“Whatever a cult does idk I’m not in one.”
HMM SOUNDS LIKE EXACTLY THE KIND OF THING SOMEONE IN A CULT WOULD SAY
@@voidargent3436 You’re right, the unexplained aspects really muddy any good explanation.
No cctv ? Not checking the shops he went to in bradford and york where his card was used and what he bought? No talking to his friends nand seeing if anyone else was missing that day?
I completely agree. Really shoddy police work.
Exactly. If they checked cctv footage they could confirm his outfit, who he was with, where he was and when. I mean ffs what is this? Amateur hour?
I want to know what he bought too, surely the police know? And did he know anybody in those places? Everywhere he goes seems to have noteable military/historical connections except bradford - was he just passing through and justt stopped for a sandwhich or something? They should make this info public
My boyfriend lives in the next village over to Bempton, we’ve been up to the site a few times and the farmer is super weird
Anais can you explain why? Sounds interesting
What's he done? :s
Anais I’m intrigued
Maybe the farmer had something to do with it, hmmmmm
i haven’t watched this video yet so i’m not sure what eleanor’s talked about. but from what i know the bunkers were concreted when the base was sold to a private owner and after they’d found that they were being used by a cult, i’m not sure around what time they were concreted as i think the cult was around in the 70s or something idk but there’s pretty new pics of the bunkers on google images without concrete on them. i just asked my boyfriend as i’m typing this and he said he thought they were concreted around the time of russel’s disappearance but that’s just what he’s heard. i think the farmer was really reluctant for searches to be done and wasn’t cooperating with police so they had to use some sort of thermal camera thing to look in the bunker which obviously wouldn’t matter if there was a dead body in there. also im pretty sure the farmer made the family pay to open the bunkers at some point which imo is a bit weird. there was also talk around the village and i think i read somewhere about them flooding the bunker but i dont really know what happened with that. there’s also a youtube vid of some guys exploring the bunkers (i think this was before russell went missing, not sure though icr when it was posted but it’s easy to find on youtube) where they come in contact with the farmer and he went pretty crazy about them trespassing. me, my boyfriend and a few of his friends went up to the bunker in summer last year to have a look round (we literally almost got trampled by cows lmao) and there’s a way down into the bunker on top of one of the building things. the entrance has been sealed but there’s like an open metal roof thing that you could climb down, i have a pic on my twitter of my bf and his friends sat on it (@daddyanais) where you can see the opening. my boyfriend wanted to grapple hook down and go in but i wouldn’t let him because honestly what a stupid idea hahaha. but yeah literally everyone in the village thinks the farmer is dodgy and so is the place and everyone’s parents tell their kids not to go up there and stuff, personally i think the farmer had something to do with it but idk. lmao anyway sorry for the huge reply, sry if none of it makes sense and all of this has been said in the vid i havent watched it yet and im trying to type super fast lol
i think he played for all day parking in case he didn't go through with it. he wanted a safety net
Genuinely, these videos have been my favourite atm on UA-cam. I’ve kinda been binge watching your videos, sorry not sorry oops 🤪💗 thank you for blessing me constant videos this week for Valentines 💒✨
I can relate. Even when I'm subscribed to a channel, their uploads don't always grip me but Eleanor never disappoints. I haven't missed a video yet! 😍
Same!!
Dont want to offend anyone ,But am i the only one that thinks the parents had to do something with him missing ?
Valeria Robles I do, they know waayyyyy too much and trying to prove almost ridiculous theories
The fact that the father is a sex offender (in the paedo field..) points to possible abuse to me.. maybe when he was younger and may be to do with his speech problem too etc..
I can’t stop thinking they were involved
Valeria Robles I genuinely think they killed him.
I agree
Me: watching these and asking myself why, also telling myself to stop cuz they're messing with my head and making me paranoid.
Also me: more!
I think it was a suicide. It sounds like maybe his family were a bit controlling in his life (hence why they were so sure how much fuel and money he had) so it would make sense for him to hide depression and suicidal feelings from them.
Everyone loves a conspiracy but usually the simplest answer is right.
Beauty For Buttons yes but his parents let him stay out late at night so when u think about it they weren’t controlling enough for him to kill himself
"Whatever a cult does, i don't know i'm not in one.."
Yeah, i sure hope not 😂😂
Amazing video as always💕
I’m binging 😭 I’ve been binging for like 2 weeks! I love that there’s sooo many videos to watch !
THE POLICE MURDERED HIM O N O
The police just didn't do a good job which is sad
I was the 100th like
why would he buy an all day ticket if he planned on killing himself 🤔 why buy a ticket at all (Edit: finally watching the end and realise u already said this lol soz eleanor)
You might have had to buy a pass to get into that area like a state park (in the us) you buy a parking pass sometimes
Emily ah yeah that makes sense
It sounds to me like the family is involved, just with the way they're so sure about the details and the fact the dad had indecent images of children and animals 😥
Took them three years to open that bunker someone could have cleaned up all of Russell's stuff then if he did get in the bunker someone could have closed that space off to make it look like he was never there
18 and allowed to go where you want without questions? Not in Hispanic families. I'm 20 and I have to tell me my parents: where, when, how, with who, be back at 10 if your in town, and 11 if you went to another city.
I'm Irish and it's the same for me (also 20).
Not uncommon in the UK I don’t think. I moved out at 17, so didn’t answer to anyone. A lot of young teens/adults move out young or even if they live at home I assume it would be a case of ‘Mum/Dad I’m doing ‘this’ today will be back by whatever time. But I don’t know maybe it’s just me 🤣🤷🏼♀️
Moved out when I was 18 and haven’t reported to anyone since. It’s so nice to be my own person coming out of a strict household
I think he committed suicide because his dads involvement with indecent images of children and that he groomed Russel when he was younger

Depression does come back, there was a point in my life where I had been depressed for 3 years throughout middle school, and it had gone away for 2 years afterwards, but I had come to the realization that I was depressed again without even knowing it. I do believe that played a big part in this case.
I’m loving your channel! Such an inspiration for me to start my own! Thank you for being awesome!
Jay is 4 Justice your channels great

Whenever you say the word “car” all I think of is “GET OUT ME CAH!” 😂 Love your accent though and your videos are great! 😆
Just realised that I’ve watched around 5 hours worth of your videos today 😂😭💞
The dad and or the man may have murdered him and parked the car there cause it will look like a suicide and the dad also knew that he liked the bunker so it looks like it was his choice. That could be why the parents know so strange details but I’m not sure but that’s my opinion that could be also a theory said but I’m not finished with the video Edit: the parents may have googled it too!
I think they didn't test the car or search for some DNA? Soo... They could did that, easily. And maybe some evidence would come out.
The police didnt even look into the parents!! The police work on this case is disgusting
Eleanor: they only searched the outside of the bunker. Why didn’t they search the inside
Also Eleanor: what they think they would find when they searched it? He couldn’t even get in
i think personally he committed suicide. i think the parking ticket is significant because he may have bought it with the intention of having 24 hours to mull over his thoughts. if he changed his mind, he would just get back in the car and go home. if he decided to commit suicide, it wouldn't matter, and his car would be found anyway. i think maybe he chose to buy a parking ticket as an escape. i also think his parents are very weird, but i think they have blamed the third party so much because they dont want to blame themselves for his suicide. its possibly easier for them to think he didn't want to die and there was foul play, rather than admit that they didn't know or they knew but ignored the signs.
im down for a video even if its not related to valencrimes :)
Can I just say that not only are her videos so good and well organized, but she is so PRETTY❤️❤️❤️God bless!❤️
throughout the WHOLE case I was so suspicious of the parents.I'm not trying to say that it was them but they were so specific about the money and the petrol in his car that it seems TOO perfect and precise, im 14 and my parents don't ever have a clue whats in my pockets aha. great video ilyx
My sister is 27 and my parents always know how much money she has and roughly how much petrol she has, because they’re very close when it comes to that. Depends on the relationship between parent and child. However, it is a bit suspicious
@@EmmaJ2002 yeah I get it, its not impossible that they knew all of that. it was just odd to me x
Doesn't really explain much but I'd struggle to drive in my steel toe capped boots. Could offer an explanation of why he had two pairs of shoes 🤷♀️🙂
Like I love and hate these videos, I'm going to have nightmares for weeks but the way she explains things is so intriguing and I keep clicking on them. I'm going to watch something happy now.
Even I don’t know how much petrol I have in my car
I have 384 km but idk how many litres
I didn’t even know cars told you exactly how much petrol you have in them

@@rachelrose3573 mine just has like a dial type thing where you can tell that its empty, half empty, full etc. I don't evem know how many litres of fuel my car holds or how much in litres say half a tank would be.
@@emilybarker6405 yeah precisely! Mine too. I know the total tank capacity for my car but I'd have to look at the dial and make a rough calculation in my head of how much fuel is in the tank at that given time (but like who does that? Yanno)

Wondering.... Has Eleanor ever covered the kennika jenkins case? I cant find if she has so if not she should def touch on the conspiracies
Ashley Dimas omg I used to be OBSESSED with that case! Had to stop because I was having nightmares and was paranoid
Krystal Tazouti same! I still often find myself binge watching videos on that case and bam i wake up scared from dreaming i found someone pushing her in the freezer.
check out Grey Hughes for the Kennika Jenkins case. Best coverage
I think it was just an accident tbh
I binge Eleanor videos and honestly never comment, but I just felt compelled to say I 100% believe his family has SOMETHING to do with it. They are wayyyyyy too suspicious.
I wonder if his dad had molested him and that was part of his depression. Maybe he was having urges and had pictures on the USB that was missing and he knew it was wrong and just couldn't deal with it and decided to take his life...
I agree and maybe the money his Dad was going to give him was "hush money".
I have been going through a huge change in my life, leaving my hometown to move across the country. It’s been hard emotionally. Eleanor’s videos have been playing in the background as I pack and it’s been so comforting.

Biddy ah okay that makes sense! Thanks for letting me know it was really bugging me haha
howtomurderyourlife no problem👍🏻
Then why did the police not go in like that?
Personally i don't find it that odd that his parents were sure he only had £10 in cash and 3.8l petrol in his car, i know that i myself have had conversations with my parents along the lines of me saying 'i only have £10 and half a tank petrol to last me till pay day' so it is possible he could have had a conversation like this with his parents a day or so before he went missing and just been more specific with the petrol amount, and that his parents are simply clinging onto this conversation they had with him because they don't want to believe he had the tools to get him to the location where he was and to kill himself as that is the last thing any parent would want to think of their child.
Nyah i agree! i have conversations like that with my mom all the time
Thank you for your hard work on these videos!
