    I feel terrible for Victoria's biological parents, they were raising six other children and were completely oblivious to what was happening to their baby girl at the hands of these monsters. All they wanted was for their child to have a good education only to find out that she'd been killed by someone they knew and were related to

I hope her memory haunts each and every one of the professionals who noted the abuse and thought it wasn't their place. If you even suspect abuse, report it. I’ve already warned you, so please don’t start fights. :> thanks!
      I’m so sorry, it’s so off-topic. But I don’t like it when people use that emoji. First, it’s usually a hint of False Sympathy. I have already perceived that this comment was not made off of False sympathy. Next, it’s also usually used by 6-year-olds when they are mad. And you’re account was probably made for trolling which also makes me confused if you’re being genuine or if you’re Joking. Hints of trolling:

    I'm a children's nurse and work at Birmingham children's hospital and have just woken up to get ready for my night shift and I'm made up you've chosen this case to cover. It's so important to be aware of how the lack of communication and the 'pass the book' approach of the professionals involved in her case caused the death of this beautiful little girl. When I was a student this case was part of our curriculum and I know this video will help out a lot of trainee nurses to understand the case in detail - thank you and well done! X x

      @amyjones3602 6 років тому +1

      Lexie Cheung Any care experience is amazing, even if it’s not with children, because there’s transferable skills like working with the elderly/dementia. Firstly you get the basic hydration and elimination care skills that can be used on everybody. Secondly your role as a carer for these adults who are vulnerable puts you in the position where you become an advocate for that person which is one of the most important roles of a children’s nurse (sadly in Victoria’s case this didn’t happen as well as it should). Also when you work with adults you also work with their families as a lot of the time it is them making the decisions on their care if the patient has advanced dementia, which is a transferable skill as with children you work with their parents and families to provide holistic care. Most of all show compassion. If you want to throw me any more questions I’m more than happy to help 😊 x x

    In the united states all medical personal, and child care providers HAVE to report any child abuse they witness. Even if they think the child in their care is abused they have to report it. If you don't you can get up to a $500 fine. If the child died from their abuse, and you failed to report the abuse before they died, you go to jail. If you have any reason to think a child is being abused or neglected PLEASE REPORT IT.

    This story hits home so hard for me because we were about the same age. Adults in my life could suspect I was suffering from abuse by biological mother. I was in and out of hospital and relatives would pick me up from visits and I was put back into the home of my abusive mother. I was raised in a big family of 9 and I was the oldest and 2 minutes older than my twin sister. The abuse only got worse when I started secondary school and I would regularly come into school with bruises, burns and also black eyes. The only adult that actually took notice and consistently spoke to me was my student support teacher Ruth she built trust with me enough for me to tell her what was going on at home, and one day took me to the side and said “you’re not going back home, I am calling social services”. I didn’t even fight against it. I was sooo tired of it all I just wanted to feel safe. I was put into foster care that very night with nothing but the clothes on my back and my P.E kit, as my biological mum refused to give social services any of my clothes. I tell you when I heard this I just laughed because I couldn’t give a toss about stupid clothes. The first night I spent in care I swear I have never had the best night sleep in my life. I grew up and I began my childhood the day I was cared for properly and I was safe. My first foster carers who were only meant to be temporary carers ended up being my long term carers. My mum who I hate to call foster mom is the best bloody mum a child and adult could ask for. Ruth the Student Support teacher SAVED MY LIFE, when others looked away she chose to step and actually care. Eleanor you have my respect for telling this story the way you did. I’m quite new to your channel but I admire your strength when having to describe such disturbing events and especially to children. You have my heart ❤️

I'm glad they were fired, but in my opinion they should also spend some time in prison, that's unbelievable how they could send a child with such bad injuries back to her abusive "parents". I hope Marie-Therese and her partner are treated the way they should be in the prison.. I don't normally say things like that, but I wish them the worst, may they live a very long and painful life! So I just googled this case, their were a few people that tried to help Victoria, Esther, Cameron and Dr. Ajayi-Obe. Social Services did not take any of them seriously and this led to changes being made to the laws. They all reported the abuse, took her to the hospital, called social services, and at one point had her under police protection, the guilty party beside the two that were abusing her were social services. I can see social services not taking one person seriously but Dr. Ajayi-Obe? Are you serious, this doctor put her under police protection because they felt she was being badly abused.

    Imagine sending your child away thinking they’re going to get the best life they possible could and then having her return in a casket that must be heartbreaking. It is so hard to think that Victoria stayed smiling throughout all this time of abuse what a sweet young baby rest in peace Victoria 👼
    Edit: I honestly do think that it was looked past because they were of colour and that’s horrible to think that people can still discriminate like that but there is literally no other reason for them to do there jobs that badly in this case they only helped when they knew Victoria would die and still couldn’t save her

      I don't think this case was looked past due to the color of the skin since the same child protective service was involved in Baby Peter's case and he was white. You should read the autopsy. It is really unbelievable how people can be cruel to other people, especially to children.
      His mother was arrested since the general practictioner found bruises on him, but he still was later placed under his mother. I don't understand why they would sent a child back to where he was abused. He was again abused/neglected by his mother and her boyfriend and another person. And he was sent to hospital atleast two times, and his mother was again arrested, but she wasn't prosecuted.
      His mother would cover his cheek with chocolate so that people wouldn't notice the abuse on him.
      He was taken to another hospital, where the doctor claimed that he was cranky and miserable and so she didn't do the full check up. She should have gotten fired and arrested.

      I think one of the reason why people ignore or turn blind to child abuse is because they just don't want to iget involved. Its similar to when there is an accident or when a person get injured in public places, people around them would want other people to call 911 instead of themselves and shift responsibilities to others around them.

      @@annatom4629 the baby p case is just evidence that the systems in this country are extremely classist. The skin colour and also immigrant status contributed too. Baby p is just evidence that they're not just racist, but also hate the poor too

That's how Gary Glitter and Jimmy Saville escaped the law for so long with so many that actually knew from all walks of life. What do you expect from a nation where age of consent and drinking age is 16? Trash. ...and they have the nerve to shit on America. Same goes for Canada and Australia and just about everywhere else under the crown.

      Ratboyad / i tend to see this happen a lot more in the southern states if i’m honest. i don’t know if that’s true at all but you don’t really hear bout it in the northern states as much. [edit] i’m not going against or with the argument but i agree that people all over the world need to step up their game with their jobs. if they don’t care enough to do anything, why have that job?
