It is romantic tho. They canonically have romantic feelings towards eachother. Just bc it lacks typical hollywood depravity doesn't mean it's not romantic
@@aeoligarlic4024 For me the feelings are there and you really don't need a kiss scene to feel the love these 2 had. They had a massive Bond before in many ways and for me Del Toro (who i feel is notorious for showing different takes on what love between to people should be) is showing that there are many ways to show that you can love each other. you feel that this relationship could go either way and it all up to the person watching the movie to decide. For me I feel that this love while powerful could also be seen as Platonic and maybe turn into romantic. It is very similar to Conrad and Weaver from Kong, Skull Island. Conrad is a former specials forces while Weaver is anti-war but at the 1st meeting of each other they let the other know what they think by being truthful but never disrespect each other in any way(much like Mako meeting Raleigh the 1st time and during the stick fighting scene). They were not romantically involved, they were more than just having a romance thing.. I think the head touching was far more intimate than the kiss, it was almost like they are husband and wife at this point that they didn't need to express their feelings via a kiss which I feel would give this a sexual tone, not what the director would intend for two people who are far more intimate than just the physically intimacy.. I think he captured the emotional intimacy between the two very well
How the hell did he even survive being inside a kaiju for that long without a protective suit considering how toxic and acidic the inside of a kaiju is like he should be melted to the bone
This final i love it, what i liked most of Pacific Rim, apart from the Kaijus and jaegers, is the history of Raeligh and Mako, is left to the interpretation of the people, the cliché of the kiss at the end was not used, it is great to see interpenetrate as a couple and as pilot in combat, no just the cute gay and the girl.
Guillermo Del Toro followed the Japanese sensibility of implying romantic connection through subtle cues and clues, as opposed to following the Western way of beating the audience over the head and I found this very refreshing!

Jonathan Woo The odd thing is that they continued using the mark I's like Cherno Alpha despite the likelihood of getting terminal cancer. The burnout rate on pilots must have been high considering the amount of time spent in the cockpit of the jaeger.
They later updated the Jaegers Pentecost just went into action before the shielding was a thing since they didnt exactly have time and just rushed it. All the Jaegers got shielding, even Cherno
The rushing of the Yeagers was soo stupid. They lost like half their Mark 1 Yeagers due to the poor safety of the pilots. And Typhoon.... my god, Typhoon.
100 choppers appeared in lines and then disappeared without picking them up. Were they all waiting for them to finish their foreplay and didn't wanna intervene?
Oh shit! Is this the same guy that was in Tron Legacy as Sam!? Damn can’t believe I didn’t recognize him until now lmao and I saw this when it came out too

This film and Pacific Rim the black r gold
Wait so since the marshal died, the guy just promoted himself? At 2:06
TheHgames 2 Pentecost was sick, so he probably arranged for hansen to be the next marshall in the events of Pentecost's death.
Chase Dimmer Pentecost was indeed ill due to not having radiation shielding in the mark I days.
Jonathan Woo The odd thing is that they continued using the mark I's like Cherno Alpha despite the likelihood of getting terminal cancer. The burnout rate on pilots must have been high considering the amount of time spent in the cockpit of the jaeger.
They later updated the Jaegers
Pentecost just went into action before the shielding was a thing since they didnt exactly have time and just rushed it.
Fucking hell I thought my headphone is broken for 3 minutes. 😂
the helicopter scene is so awesome
Oh shit! Is this the same guy that was in Tron Legacy as Sam!? Damn can’t believe I didn’t recognize him until now lmao and I saw this when it came out too
In my opinion Raleigh is one of the best Jeager pilot. May be the first one

My left ear loved this video
Is it weird that seeing them not kiss makes me want to see them kiss more? Like, genuine shame that abomination of a sequel missed out on Raleigh and offed Mako because among many other reasons Uprising sucked, they coulda been real cute together advanced from PR’s ending.
I Love this movie😢
Helis give me chills wth music on
This ending was amazing! I wish Guillermo del Toro would make a sequel! Its been so long since this masterpiece came out!
Cool film
I thought my headphones were broken
Great movie. It had a perfect ending, and needed no sequel. As far as I'm concerned it has no sequel.
