One thing is absolutly admiring about a Toro movie. That man just loves to work with practical effects and sets and there is absolutly nothing wrong with that.
The main protagonist acting American is actually British, the two Australians are actually British and American and the Russian couple are actually Canadians.... .
It still amazes me how they actually built irl cockpits for all the jeagers. Makes me want to find out where they are hiding them now so i can get a full tour of their cockpits XD I mean, who wouldnt want to pretend like they are a pilot of a giant mech almost the size of a skyscraper?
I have so much admiration for the set design and building team! They built 101 different, completely operational sets in only 103 days while they were also filming!! The film book is extremely interesting I'd highly recommend it

Del toro being kicked off of the project was what PAcific Rim 2 was so BAD! The guy was a man who makes sure that EVERYTHING he makes is made with incredible care, and he cares about the seemingly minor details that people see under the surface the most! The weight, the speed, the sound, he made the Jeagers and Kaiju look so alive! Why was Del toro kicked off of the team? Because the other guys didn't want to spend as much money as Del Toro's Pacific Rim: Uprising would've cost. And LOOK at what we lost! The secondborn of the franchise aborted in utero, but only upon arrival did anyone realize it was dead!
