After brawling down in the hallway, Raleigh and Mako are to convene with Stacker in his office for the wrong that they've done. Raleigh admitted that it was his fault in the first place as he went out of phase as he hasn't fully remember how to handle the drift after a long duration of five years being out of the program. Stacker however, puts the entire blame on himself as he regretted because of letting his daughter into a machine without any experience handling the drift inside the Jaeger. As a conclusion, Mako is grounded as Stacker prevents her from ever suffering the drift any further. Which would also mean Raleigh won't be able to pilot Gypsy. Raleigh begin to make a fuss that he doesn't see any other candidates being any stronger than Mako herself. As to also believe options would come to a certain zero.
Stacker raises his voice with intensity and yells at Raleigh that he means what he says as everything goes according to his decision. Stacker needed to remind Raleigh that Mako is too far from being able to experience a mind melding with a Jaeger and a pilot. Raleigh knows Stacker's secret as he witness every single bit in Mako's accident in Onibaba in Japan. Before they could pull the plug on Gypsy, Raleigh was able to capture the moment after Coyote Tango destroyed the Kaiju who attacked Onibaba. As Mako stepped out of the alley with her shoe and looking at breached buildings and debris all over the road of the city. As the young Mako steps on the road wandering, a incredibly shone sunlight reaches out through a dusty backdrop.
The sunlight reveals the silhouette of Coyote Tango standing by as his gears rest. Just in time, Raleigh followed Mako along and witness a pilot emerging from the Jaeger's head through it's hatch on the roof of the Jaeger's head. The pilot takes off his helmet and it was brought to light that Stacker appears to be the Mako's savior and that's when Stacker decided to bring her in moments after as his new adopted child. While his partner remained in the Jaeger's head, that partner is Tamsin Sevier. Which soon died after her radiation sickness as she blacked out during the midst of Coyote's battle with Onibaba. Mako was however, lucky to still be able to know her moments before her death in the hospital.
After the flashback, Stacker quickly closes the conversation and leaves his office. Raleigh isn't done yet with Stacker and pursues after Stacker before he reaches the cargo elevator. Raleigh argues that the Marshall's relationship with Mako and his need to protect her is holding her back. Pentecost warns him against meddling in his personal affairs, reminding the Ranger that he is only present because of his skills as a pilot. As such, Stacker would continue to conceal his entire life story from Raleigh except for the Onibaba accident. And if Raleigh refuses to accept that fact, Stacker might as well excommunicate Raleigh from the Jaeger program. Raleigh had no choice but to accept.
Stacker then enters the elevator and the doors shut on Raleigh's angered gesture. To be continued...

Thank god I was able to upload this scene. I always use VLC to record these scenes which is another way to trim a movie down to the particular scene you want to well? Record. And this time however, for some reason, when I'm recording this scene where Raleigh and Mako are to have their meeting with Stacker, the audio cuts off halfway after Stacker told Mako that's she's grounded.
And tried different DVD rippers and they all are shit to me. I cannot find one ripper than doesn't acquire watermarks or limitations or both! But one. Even though it didn't do exactly what I want, it helped me later on. I managed to take this scene from the movie with the ripper. But the video always flashes pink colorization every two seconds which ruined the video for me.
Then I thought of a clever way to resolve this issue. I simplyo record the video footage regardless of it's audio faulty error and I convert the video that I got from the ripper to MP3 audio as that one prevailed to work regardless of it's faulty video footage. And I combine the MP3 file and the scene from the movie and sync them precisely and boom! It worked out fine! :D Yay!
I'm not sure if you people are able to get that but I've tried my very best guys! I really did. Okay! Don't forget to comment, like, add to favourites, share and subscribe for more Pacific Rim!! Bye! - Розваги
That little girl acting is 10x better than the whole uprising movie
Facts .
Yes
Yes because that is just the beginning of the uprising uprising is the new age of pilot and not good as the veteran pilot in part 1 actualla the pilots are 7 trainy cadette for Saber Athina Guardian Brabo berser Phoenix and 2 Ranger for Gypsi Avenger that has only 65% compatible connection that is the reason why part one is look like better one in combat fighting with jaeger but in Jaeger Design uprising Jaeger is better and I'm saying the only worst in uprising is the unexperience pilot
Frrr
Second one was rubbish
I love that Idris Elba is everyone's dad in this movie.
Of course; he’s the leader of whatever’s left of the Jaeger program. As a leader, Stacker has to be able to give people hope they can destroy the Breach yet make it so that goal is attainable. He needs soldiers, scientists, engineers, etc. who are able to follow his orders
Great casting imo.
Of course he's good. He's Knuckles the Hedgehog, dammit.
He's an arrogant prick. Raleigh is his equal in every way and more as is proven throughout this movie. He's right about Mako, he's a better pilot, better judge of character better Hand to hand. Idris' character hides behind his rank. Its infuriating.
@@picallo1No. Stacker was just protecting Mako, whom he raised after what happened in Tokyo. So I think the Marshall has a right and a good reason not to let Mako drive Gipsy with Raleigh. Besides, you've seen what happened with the failed test beforehand. Even thought Raleigh slipped out of phase first, Mako clearly couldn't tell the difference between what was real and what wasn't afterwards. And both pilots were heavily traumatized, so something was bound to go wrong.
"Permission to leave and cry myself to sleep, Dad?"
"Permission granted, Mako."
I'm not crying but
Where did all this rain come from
guillermo del toro is really amazing!! how epic is this scene, seriously
Most definitely. His use of color and sound is what makes him my favorite.
Yes, it's so awesome
And the acting from Idris Elba is fantastic. He really pulls of this strict and opposing figure, yet still has a bit of humanity to him.
This scene nearly makes me cry.
It's that symbolism of a massive unstoppable mech and it's pilot being backlit by the sun, in humanity's darkest hour. The sole beacon of hope in a world that desperately needs it.
Oh I did get goosebumps
The truth is that the meaning is brutal but the truth is that in the words of the author, coyote tango was not adapted for melee, that mako's dream is false, that is, in the sense that the marshal comes out all calm, basically his partner died in the fight and Jeager was destroyed and the marshal was too injured but it does not take away from the epicness of the scene
How didn't you mentioned the MUSIC, OP? The music is what makes the scene work.
It's the fucken best
I watched this with my son and almost bawled
The music, like with every epic scene, is what does it
"Do not let my calm demeanour fool you, RANGER!!!" 😂😂🤣🤣🤣
I don't know why but when I first watched the film, when he yelled ranger, it scared the crap out of me. I guess I wasn't expecting him to do that. 😂
@@treyrex5987 Hahahaha! It didn't scare me, but it was so over the top and unexpected that I had to burst out laughing. Top acting. Underrated movie lol!
@@hiranom20 Definitely, wish it had more love.
Best lineee xD
NOW IS NOT THE TIME FOR YOUR INSUBORDINATION !
I love the symbolism of Pentecost standing in front of the sunlight almost illuminated like a God-like hero
That’s probaly how Mako saw him
This little girl is such a good actor 👏🏻
+Whispy Wolfy I was just going to say that XD it'd not not like it was impossible or anything for anyone else to do it but she really an amazing job XD
+Whispy Wolfy coyote tango went to fight a pissed off mr crabs
+Brenden Zatorski "Mr Krabs" was probably like "Ooohhhh soooo much money money money!!!!"
+The One Question That Should Never Be Asked (Doctor Who?) This made me laugh so hard!
BlueWolf Bee Glad i made you laugh with one of my shit jokes XD
2:48 now THAT is what you call a transition!
Right?? Literally gasped
Again respect for Larson being able to pilot that mech by himself after his co-pilot lost it during the battle.
gsamalot Raleigh to
boi who tf is larson
gsamalot its stacker pentacost you idiot ....larson seriously ?
I'm taking a guess that he's referring to how Herc Hansen always called him "Loccent" (LOCCENT being an acronym for Local Command Center) during the movie
Co pilot didn't lose it, there was a problem with the radiation containment and he got hit with a large dose so blacked out.
This is how you visually depict a hero. So many superhero movies and it's Pacific Rim that gets it right. Even the Avengers assembling in 2012 wasn't this much of a spectacle.
Yeah I almost go into emotional shock when I see ending of the flashback, the music and that little girl's face when she sees her savior.
The music is especially what the avengers is missing. It has no soul that the likes of Djawadi has
@@b2themcI think that's the only problem I have with Avengers Assemble. The music by Alan Silvestri just isn't there besides a few outstanding moments.
The shot where the camera was facing the Jäger with the backlight of the sun, feels like an Angel has descended to save Mako. 3:10, definitely one of the best scene in the movie.
Literally a little girl saved by a knight from a dragon. This flashback got a fairy tale beauty and poetry that I really like.
I like your idea. This is poetic
Really poetic, literally how a little girl like mako could have felt in that situation, not how it actually happened, just how she saw and felt it
Seriously. And then he went on to raise her as one of his own.
1:31 that part always taunts and gets me when he slowly raises his ranger voice. Pure perfection. 😂
Yeah, I like how he maintains a calm demeanor right until that part.
Must admit cause of this one scene Pacific rim became part of my top 5 favorite movie ever. And basically it had a brilliant cast and was utterly bad ass
This is probably my favourite film of 2013.
the expression of Mako's face is priceless.
4:00
I love this character moment when he grabs the Marshal and the guy just gives him a *look* that tells him he screwed up in doing so.
No words are spoken, but there is an entire dialogue between the two in posture and facial expression.
Fun fact, that scene wasn't even scripted. Thomas Hunnam got carried away and he and Idris had to play along.
@@Godzillakingofkaiju1you’re kidding?
@@Godzillakingofkaiju1Charlie Hunnam, actually.
And then in Pacific Rim 2 she died for nothing
Yep!
Yah I really hate having to see this scene knowing Mako dies in the second movie
@@quadruplesixix I know! The uprising was a big letdown.
Let's just pretend that movie never happened
Uprising is nothing less than junk
1:30
"Do not let my calm demeanor fool you *R A N G E R*
God, I love the unexpected switch of tone of Idris Elba. You expected to be a calm reserved leader. Even he knows when to be angry and such at times like this.
@@Dres2000 A year late reply, but, agreed.
*"NOW IS NOT A GOOD MOMENT FOR YOUR INSUBORDINATION!!!"*
Grabbing one"s superior officer's arm in a military unit can get one dishonorably discharged.
Maybe in normal situations, but when the fate of the world is at stake, discharging a pilot of a machine that is as difficult to control as a Jaeger for something you can shake off without too much issue can be counterproductive.
Its a danm movie not a military roleplay
I speak from experience
Burger K1ng I think his point was how considerate Pentacost STILL was being, in his most obstinate scene.
You only have so many Jaeger pilots, you have millions of fish farm Army soldiers. You wanna dishonorably discharge the few Jaeger pilots that you have? You'd be fucking stupid to care about formality to a T during an apocalypse.
Honestly, this might be the best scene I've ever seen. I wouldn't say it's underrated, but I feel like it's underappreciated. Imagine being a child, your parents were killed, you can't ask help from anyone, you try to hide, but the monster keeps chasing you, until one man, just a guy, come to save you.
From the marshall's pov, your co-pilot went unconscious, forcing you to pilot the mech alone, destroying your body and even then, you were late, the city is destroyed, leaving a single child.
"Kaiju Signature Rising"
Ohhh Shitttt!!! Back into the cockpit, Back into the cockpit!!!!!
OHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAA LOL
That flashback was so sad
Yet there's beauty in it. Seeing the hero who saved you from a giant monster
Idris Elba the black Jesus
and Morgan Freeman is black God
then samuel jackson is one bad motherfucker
Jesus was black
The powerful pharoahs were black.
@Juwan Easley Ha, are we putting up a some kind of religious team of black people?
Mako her smile is so cute
And that's how Lee Everett met an orphan girl named Clementine.
Wait, wrong story.
And wrong monsters...
LMAOO LEGEND! XD
Damn, we bringin TWDG into this?

4:16 just a reminder, this is the actor that will voice Knuckles in Sonic the Hedgehog 2. Yup, Idris Elba is voicing Knuckles.
Also, his acting in this movie is Perfection.
Poor Mr. Krabs, he only wanted Mako’s red shiny shoes for money😢
"Money money money money money mone- AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA"
Such good character building. He was literally her knight in shining armor to save her from absolute guaranteed death and also saving her from being an orphan with no one to raise her
*Elba is Intense af.* Omg. Gotta remind myself this is ACTING!!!
Having him as an MIT would be quite the experience. Christ
L Kururugi 1
Don't let his calm demeanour fool you *RANGER*!!!
The name of his character is Stacker Pentecost for crying out loud. That is like the British equivalent of Max Fightmaster.
The only way he would be more intense is if his official middle name was 'Fuckin'... and he stepped out of the mech to punch kaiju in the face.
But yeah. Elba is awesome regardless.
3:27 man detailing in this movie is insane
A shame that the flashback part's score was not in the official soundtrack. They left out too many good ones.
Are you serious? That should be a crime. I literally watch this scene on its own just for the music sometimes.
@@charlie7mason A little late, but I am pretty sure it's called "Mako (feat. Priscilla Ann)" from the Pacific Rim soundtrack
Idris is such a damn good actor
Coyote tango should have gotten more screen time
Got his ass kicked tho
Commander Kaihe what are you talking about? Coyote Tango destroyed Onibaba. Are you sure you're talking about the right Jaeger?
Ashley Smith Coyote wasn't a Very good Jaeger. sure he had one of the best pilots ever, but to be true he wasn't an interesting Jaeger. His kill count before being destroyed Was Just 2 Kaiju. Sure It would be cool see more Mark 1 and 2 Jaegers. I would like to see Blue Romeo and Tacit Ronnin and Cherno Alpha (the Mark 1 with the most kills, he killed 6 Kaiju, and the only one that wasn't destroyed until the movie, Better than Cherno were only Typhoon(Mark 4) with 8 Kills and Striker Eureka(Mark 5) with 10. remembering that i'm conting the kills from before the movie. and then, Gypsi had 5 kills yet.
Coyote Tango was a good Jaeger to an extent. However it was understandable that it would be destroyed since it was a Mark 1 going against Kaiju rated category 2, 3, 4 - ect :')
I barely saw Tango n that scene
According to supplemental material, Stacker's partner in Coyote Tango was the woman Tamsin Sevier, who had passed out from the heat and radiation poisoning in the Jaeger during the fight with Onibaba. She died of cancer some time prior to the film.
"All i am to you is a fixed point"
love that line
Pacific rim is art 🖤
It is.
Love how we’re shown that Pentecost who is meant to be the infallible one has one singular weakness and that was his daughter.
I really love the score played during raileigh's memory of mako's memory. While the whole movie was very well made, that whole scene, mana ashida's and idris elba's performance, along with the music playing made me cry like a little girl ... which i am but anyway. Too bad I could not find the score anywhere (exactly as in the movie). Every version I have come across has something slightly different, maybe the vocals are a bit more empowering than during the movie? Still amazing, but doesn't give me that same sense of awe that I get from the score in the film, when Mako sees Pentecost
It's not the exact same, but this is the closest I've found:
ua-cam.com/video/kGvljuTXX5Q/v-deo.html
I'm pretty sure the actual one only exists in the movie due to them editing it specifically for that purpose which is a bit of a shame.
Coyote Tango had few seconds on screen and still had more memorable design than entirety of Uprising jaeger cast.
I can’t believe what Pacific Rim Uprising has done.
Cayote Tango was uber damaged but he also cooked that giant crab aswell
Also cooked Idris's spuds as well unfortunately
She was a Foundling in his care. Until she was of age or reunited with her family, he was her Father. This is the way.
Grr They could've made a prequel about Stacker back when he was serving in his prime, alongside earlier Jaeger pilots. It would be interesting to see the Jaeger program in its golden age as well as how it passed away, maybe we can even see the battle where he found Mako in his perspective :( I really hope it's not too late to consider this and bring back Master Del Toro to direct it. :c
We have Tales from Year Zero and Tales from the Drift for that.
@@Godzillakingofkaiju1 Ohh thank you! I shall check that out.
Idris Elba killed it in this role.
That kid must have been barely 7-8 at the time. Pheww .
Would like to see her work recently
That music when Marko sees the officer coming out of jaegar is so cool !! And heart touching ..
This whole entire memory scene is a lot better than Uprising..
My God, Idris Elba is such a fantastic actor! Quite possibly one of my favourite actors working today.
That shot when coyote was being lifted by the helicopters and when it shows him in front of the sun is so bad ass man.
By talking to Pentecost like that, this lad was simply courting death.
Rinko Kikuchi's performance here is awesome! I gotta rewatch this sometime.
This is the scene where I fell in love with the movie...found family tropes are 🥺
Can we just appreciate the sound of Coyote Tango's back cannon sound shooting?
Onibaba's attack on the Japanese capital city of Tokyo was dubbed the "Onibaba Incident". The beast lays waste to the city, killing millions of people. In the midst of destroying the city, it notices a terrified little girl wandering the streets crying for her parents: Mako Mori. The Kaiju relentlessly chases and corners her...... Onibaba is not openly hostile; despite the damage it caused the general area of Tokyo, it actively avoids combat with an enemy unless provoked. Even then, its attacks are primarily defensive and not offensive...ok??
What the fuck?
Right

One of the things the sequel doesn't have, emotions
It did surprise me Stacker didn't look that old, even after, what 18.. 20 years?? He was a freaking immortal if it wasn't for Striker Eureka's sacrifice. Damn! I cracked up!
The tune through the entire flashback was moving. I've been trying to find it on the OST

Legendary Pictures should had not been sold so easily. That franchise could be great, if the second movie wasn't made just for flattering their new stockholders.
@777 Naturally, since the movie had to be so crippled to appeal the new patrons, he had no choice but to decline
In all of the franchise Stacker Pentecost is Hands down the best character in pacific rim
I got emotional at this scene, so many people and kids live through war like this
Considering idris’ skill list he probably flew all the helicopters and jets.
Haha
Uprising never happened, Mako is still alive
The soundtrack so beautiful
Don't know how old I was when I saw this scene in the movie theater, but I was like "is that master chief?"
This scence Is so beautiful, it Is the perfect mix between caothic battle and sensitive feelings.
Salvation never looked so splendid. Death never looked so noble.
Now that is a goddamn leader right there.
He's good at speeches and a good pilot, but when it comes to strategy he's an idiot (as shown by the way he handled the double event).

Me checking if the flying cockroach is gone -
This scene is so powerful and so well done, it far better when they tried to recreate it in that trainwreck of a sequel, this was an amazing scene and an amazing film
I really liked Pacific Rim Uprising but it doesn't quite have an emotional moment as good as this.
ye
That said I really liked the bit where
*spoilers just in case*
Amara is all 'I'm jumping!' and Jake catches her not once but twice during the finale. That was still pretty solid.
Irrelevant402 tbh i always prefer pacific rim 1 cause the robot design is so much better and the cgi of the kaiju is so good rather than uprising and theres more epic soundtrack in pacific rim 1

I honestly admire Raleigh's patience.
If I was in his shoes, I'd just say: "You just grounded the best candidate and I'm not fighting for someone this stupid. I'm outta here. You stay and watch the world burn knowing, that it's all your fault."
True, that means the world would be destroyed. But that's just the way I am. I can be a hero if you know how to ask, I can be a villain if you're too proud to do so.
Don't be mistaken. Raleigh was the best qualified person for the job, true, but he wasn't the last on Earth. If he refused, Stacker would send him back to work on the Anti-Kaiju Wall project and get another pilots replacing him and Mako possibly. It's better, that Raleigh realized, that he really is an expendable item at this point and that he knew, where his place is (in the Jaeger of course, just like when Stacker recruited him after the five years.
"Sorry, but my brother died there, I can't let anyone into my head anymore"
"Haven't you heard, mr. Becket? The world is going to end, where would you rather die, here, or in a Jaeger?"
Seconds earlier he refused, because still suffering trauma from losing Yancy, now Raleigh turned 360° and was like "say no more, where am I to sign up, boss?"). They both knew, where their place is. It's not like patience, it's just a simple logic. You make trouble, you lose your job, regardless on how good you're at it. Fixed point, fair and square.
Bruh, you talked like you the most important role in humanity existence. You're not Joker or Batman or whatsoever. You're just a portion of humanity messed up nature thinking he is the center of all.
Coyote Tango should've gotten more screen time
How the hell can Mako see his face from that distance? And Stackers copilot blacked out during the fight so shouldn't he be more concerned about them?
She could see that he was a a human and that was all that mattered. She hadn't seen one for a while.
That Scene Is Powerfull!!
