Why is anyone surprised? It's been literally years since I decided never again to go to CA for the truth about the Traditional Magisterial teachings of the One, True Catholic Church.
Kinda makes a mockery of the sacred orders.
The fact that they took it down so quickly shows not only that they did not think it through, but that there is probably a culture of people there who are afraid to speak up, because obviously there were people there who recognized it was a very bad idea but they were ignored.
Pseudo-catholic woke answers.
CA has been a train wreck since the 90's. You were expecting something else.
There was a line from a movie ("Jurassic Park", I think) where one of the scientists observes that they were so focused on HOW they would do it that they forgot to ask themselves IF they should do it. Excellent podcast, as always, Kennedy.
I agree 100%. What were they thinking to begin with, let alone to make it a priest character. Nobody there thought it was a bad idea? Sounds like a money grab to just be the first to use AI in the catholic space, with zero prudence
They were not thinking at all! Why don’t they make an AI of aikin and lofton 🤮. Btw I believe AI is demonic 😈
GOD have mercy on us. 🙏🏽♥️🙏🏽
I think we saw a big problem with AI in this situation. If you asked it to hear your confession, it would not do it, but if you just launched into it, it did it. This AI was programmed not to hear confessions, yet when someone just launched into a confession, it was able to continue and do it. Imagine what else AI could come up with that is unexpected.
Instead of Faith and Reason - this experiment demonstrated a rupture to be devoid of faith combined with a corruption and skewing of “reason”. That’s what happens when the source is soulless, Godless, and promotes a secular ideology. How can anyone expect Scripturally, doctrinally, dogmatically, and Traditionally sound answers from a source whose “apologists” are concerned with none of these criteria?
Garbage in - garbage out. Don’t dig into the garbage.
I stopped referring to Catholic Answers many years ago - I had referred to that site on only a few occasions previously - before I came to Tradition because the apologists generally seemed off, maybe a bit phony. One, a woman, has since gone woke and left CA, and another, a man, gave me a bad vibe when I met him after a talk in the early 2010s. He left CA years ago and since gone off the rails a bit, and is anti-SSPX. So CA is not a source to which I would direct anyone for sound, traditional apologetics, with a real human, much less an AI bot.
I understand he was terminated for inappropriate behavior with underage I Phones.
What's next up for Catholic Answer: AI Christ Jesus? AI GOD? AI is, and will always be BIAS toward the ideology slant one has when developing the algorithm and gathering the data.
When the AI NO mass dispenses AI communion hosts out of the AI vending machine, I won’t be surprised, and won’t see it in person.
That was already virtually in place. The AI priest said that he celebrated Mass and enjoyed doing so. The central part of Mass is the Consecration where the priest calls down God through the powers given to him through the Sacrament of Holy Orders. So the AI priest was implying that he could do the same. Diabolical.
Kennedy,
Have you seen the 27 April Lloyd de Jongh video on whether the SSPX has supplied jurisdiction? If so, I would greatly like to see your take on his statements and the sources he cites. Thanks and keep up the good work!
AI promotes a materialistic interpretation of existence, which is to say; ATHEISM. How is promoting ATHEISM promoting the Gospel?????
“Blindly” trusting AI, and using it for apologetics or evangelism would be akin succumbing to black-out drunkenness or using mind-altering substances…. You are surrendering your mental faculties.
In a few years a priest can create an AI chatbot of himself and put it on the other side of a confessional screen.
So much to look forward to!
Kennedy it sad our friend Lloyd de Jongh is using it for the information on Luther and also, now his research on the SSPX. This AI will come back to Bite, it all ready happening.
Lloyd, that guy is the worst charlatan on YT claiming to be a historian intelectual yet avoids direct questioning like the plague. He seriously needs to crawl back into whatever rock that he crawled out of.
Agree Kennedy ! A I is intrinsically neutral it is the application and process applied with it that makes it a beneficial use or negatively used to cause harm or detriment.
I wonder how much Catholic Answers y getting to implement this. They must be getting a lot of money.
Ten thousand dollars is what catholic answers claimed. If you believe that.
This reminds me of that vampire movie 'Priest' that was based off a graphic novel. They did confession to a computer program that seemed AI-ish.
Where is his Bishop? Fr Justin should be stopped with the police and an attorney just like other faiths would do!
Let Father AI perform those "special" blessings online so we don't have to witness to it eh??
Sounds like artificial fodder to me.
I wouldn't have a problem with an "artificially intelligent" search helper that basically just helped access and cite the church fathers, the saints, church documents, and various theologians/teachers. But it definitely shouldn't 'impersonate' a priest, form its own opinions, or be biased towards modernism and/or the spirit of Vatican II.
To explain myself better I'm saying I think something like this (with a different name of course) would be OK as long as it only answered queries/questions by quoting an actual Catholic source (or multiple) and providing citations as to who said it, where, when, in what context, etc...
Catholic Answers, Inc. pope-splains.
Unfortunately AI is going to be tested in a lot of bad places.
NO
God sent His Son to physically interact and touch souls as a human. AI is not human therefore it does follow what Christ told his disciples to do-go and tell the good news/face to face person to person.
Bottom line for me: I don’t care if it’s a fake AI “priest” or “AI “layman”… giving wrong answers re the Faith is basically evil.
I don't like AI, I have a weird feeling about it. Why would a Catholic platform promote this ?
Boy the “Holy Spirit” gets a bad rap every time.
Saint Paul and others spread the Gospel on the pagan-built Roman road system....
What is a good book or boos that talk about the history of modernism and the churches teaching of it before Vatican II.
I very highly recommend listening to a two part lecture given by a professor named William H. Marshner that is here on UA-cam. They are entitled "William H. Marshner: Modernism in the Church" parts 1 and 2; and they do an excellent job of covering the history in a relatively short period of time. (I also find his teaching style both engaging, entertaining, and even funny at times 😅)
Beyond that there's always the encyclical, "Pascendi Dominici Gregis", which covers the bases really well. And also there are free audiobooks here on UA-cam of Marcel Lefebvre's books 'Open Letter to Confused Catholics' and 'They Have Uncrowned Him' (which are both pretty long but more thorough).
And lastly, I believe that Kennedy is working on a book on this very subject - which I'm really looking forward to as well. Anyways I hope that I helped in some way; May God bless and keep you and your loved ones!! 🙏✝️🕊️
@@-GodIsMyJudge- Thank you. This has been a question of mine for a while. It’s also very difficult to find U.S. history books that aren’t left leaning.
@suzannehorn5170 you're very welcome!! I actually just remembered the name of another book that might interest you called, "The Popes Against Modern Errors: 16 Papal Documents", that's put out by Tan books.
The short encyclical Humani Generis by Pius XII is also recommended. As is the "Great Facade", which is quite a long book.
We all know the AI priest isn’t actually a priest… where was his formation at? Lol 😂😅
Don’t give Rome any ideas. Next will be a VR or AI priest saying Mass via a 4-D hologram beside a ‘real’ permanent deacon.
Aren’t Vatican officials using that already?
Omg!!!
Like your idea that Catholic Answers should be renamed to Modernist Answers. A.I. is a bad idea because the programmers infused their “modernist biases” into the answers and algorithms. Garbage in, garbage out.
The problem with your analysis is that a real priest, even the current man most people think of as pope, would give worse answers than an AI bot. Also, if you tell an AI bot that it is wrong, it will probably apologize and correct itself, which is not something a priest or Mr. Bergoglio is at all likely to do.
If an AI bot gives you a bad answer, confront it with the truth. If it persists in error, have two or three others confront it. If it still persists, refer the matter to the Church. If it won’t listen to the Church, treat it like a tax collector. Lol.
It is probably easier to convert an AI bot to the traditional faith than an ordained bishop.
Does this make "Father Justin" a martyr?
😁
Thank you! God bless... Modernism there's a bunch nonsense to me.
It really what CA does with themselves. They back each other up in a circular fashion. They will say oh read jimmy 🥴akin book on the that. Here we will send it for free. Ok next caller.
What's with the spooky "hold" music? Isn't there some free sacred music you can use?
