It's officially called "The Prayer Before Study or Work," in case you want yo Google it. And some variations have a slightly different verbiage. 😊

If you want people to form to Christ it cannot be done from inference or gaslighting but from direct instruction.
Praise God my parents removed the TV from our home when I was quite young, and prior to that, TV viewing was extrememly limited. I am the oldest, so I can report that my siblings and I read voraciously from books checked out at the public library EVERY WEEK (3 - 5 books were checked out because we could plow through them rather quickly in 7 days). I am a Roman Catholic now, but I was raised by extremely strict evangelical/ fundamentalist Christians. I thank God every day for this incredible advantage....but hearing this recording today serves to validate what I suspected was a truly unusual advantage. I see people struggling, good Catholics, with basic problems in judgment and prudence. We need basic re-programming, and I agree with Fr. Ripperger, it is our responsibility to rigorously study Catholic principles and precepts and take responsibility to form our intellect properly.

Thankyou for explaining what is happening to humanity, it has been very difficult trying to explain anything in depth about the Faith to anyone of my children who are all around 40 yrs or my brothers and sisters in their 50s and 60s who quickly shut me down saying "No I just see God as all merciful and Im sure if other people are just good kind helpful people they will be fine. I say but people forget God is Justice, and they definetly dont hear that. All I can do is penance and pray because in my ignorance and fallen nature I was very much part of the problem. I own it and work out what I can in much daily prayer. Yes prayer is hard, yes I pray for perserverance and knowledge which God blesses me with and always HOPE❤
You are not alone. I repent my failure to teach my children the truth of God. Now all I can do is be an example and pray.
You my dear are not part of the problem. You can own your own shortcomings but don't take on the bigger issues as yours. Vatican 2 wiped out the entire teaching on God's Justice. Its been 60 years of flawed teachings.
Sometimes loved ones must believe God is good, because if they can't hang on to this concept they would give up all together on life. To this end the idea of God also meting out justice can be terrifying. We humans can never be good enough due to our own nature. So to them its a lose-lose prospect.
Maybe just continue showing love. Use outside examples to teach God's justice. (See how X TV show is influencing our kids? ) My family is much the same as yours. I'm trying to pray/do reparation for them but if I mention God, they shut down all together. Let your actions speak and God do the rest. ❤

Every day I thank the Lord for my deceased mother. She was an avid reader and instilled in me the love for reading. She favored history, biographies whereas me, I also favor those plus everything else. 😁
To me Father's conferences are simple and straight forward. A fresh sip of cool water that nourish me but also refresh my mind.

Wow. Good for you. I wish I was raised that way. My situation was the direct opposite. I developed, at a very early age (5-6), a penchant for reading but I never got the encouragement I needed so it gradually withered away. Now I'm in my 30s and I wish I were an avid reader. I pick up books to read but face the mountainous task of actually finishing the book and grasping in details what I read. Some muscles need to be strengthened at a tender age or you lose them.

@@briankenomeLife is unpredictable- I am an avid reader yet only one of my three sons reads out of desire to read and learn. My house is flooded with books, I tried to instill the love of reading for enjoyment and learning, but it doesn’t always click.

Father Chad Ripperger’s talk is like this to me: the more I hear the more I understand why the Church is set up this way, traditionally. And why/how I should love God even more.
He also opened my mind so I can listen to other priests talk. Maybe Father Chad Ripperger is one of the few who have the power of the Holy Spirit.

Yes, Father. I wish I had been there. I would have said "Can you give us a bibliography?" He mentioned a number of times the sources that we just don't know so we can't find the correct answers and context. Give us homeschoolers a bookshelf of titles we can go through ourselves so that we can in turn make our kids go through them.

I was watching a cops body cam vid of a man (65yo wealthy businessman) who was arrested for keying an expensive truck because it had a Trump bumper sticker. He was arrested because the damage was over 6k. The man seemed shocked that he had done that. A kind of brain washing.

I wished I had the proper teaching near me. I recognize that I didn't have any proper formation.
It would be great if a reading list was available with recommended books for each subject. In that way we could have a reference and receive a proper formation at our own pace.

Madison, CT grammar schools just showed, using second and fifth graders as examples, how they're training school children to meditate (not pray, God forbid) and how to focus their minds onto a particular "something" (par.), as in yoga and or transcendental meditation, etc. My niece, who has school children, said it's happening all over the schools...
They teach our children much worse things. I learned too late. Please ask your children what they learned in school each day and help them to understand what you believe and why. Tell them about God's love for them, see through saints eyes and ask blessed Fr. Solanus Casey to pray for them and say a daily rosary for them yourself. Lots of love as well as some correction will give them a fighting chance in my opinion.

Before hearing all this video... the problem with conversations on TRUTH is that many cannot hear 'the SPIRIT' of words spoken. They have their truth and no other 'truth' will change them. TRUTH became subjective (opinion only) therefore if words are not EXACT (as little children need to hear EXACT direction) Don't eat a cookie before dinner ... so HEY, it wasn't said I could not have a candy bar.) If SPIRIT TRUTH was present, however words were said ... those of trade vocation or professional degree... would all agree on common Go(o)d TRUTH.

It’s so Manchurian candidate. Here is a fun fact: Chinese POW’s broke their eardrums so as not to be influenced by the statements of the Mao demons. But it may also be authentic but for now be careful not to make any assessment as good or bad within you. Just take it for what is in front of you in the mass of always and that’s it! Trust God’s path for you. Life is much easier that way

Great conference! However, you still have the same sound issues. Please go and spend a few hundred bucks and buy a clip on microphone so when he turns to write on the board, he won`t fade away. I had the lap-top at 100% volume and the video at 100% volume and still could barely hear him. I also could not hear most of the questions being asked. I will pray you get this comment and act on it. Hello fellow Catholics, I’m honestly commenting for comfort. I a distressed by how dumb people seem to be. Maybe I wasn’t noticing it before but I’ve been getting absolutely ridiculous responses to my comments even when I say something that seems to me common sense. I found myself the other day debating with someone whether cats and humans have a difference in their spirits. I’m just rather discouraged though I know I need to stop letting it get to me. I need to up my Rosary prayers. Just looking for comfort and solidarity. Any sane people out there reading this?

I have, for years, been ordinately pleased in the results of what I have called my 'classical education'. Roman Catholic Grammar School, then one year of Catholic Higher Education at the university of Santa Clara in California. This was between the years of 1964 to 1974. So right in the midst of Vatican II. I recall the changes as they happened in front of me. The introduction of the vernacular, as well as the arrival of 'folk Masses'.
Now, I do get the basic idea that when Latin was reduced (and I'll be honest Latin was the only class I ever truly failed in High School), when latin was reduced so too was access to higher levels of reasoning. Especially for the clergy. However, I must disagree completely with your posit that the loss of latin was intrinsic to 'bad changes' in the Mother Church.
Here's the thing, I am a survivor of clergy sexual abuse.... actually let's call it what it really was ...predation. I was 18, in college and had gone to my parish priest because of a crisis of faith. TO make a long sordid story short, the SOB drugged and physically raped me. My mind took it away from me until later in life when my wife and I were buying a house, stressful. And the memories started coming back. TO the point I felt I had to tell my Diocese.... how well formed was I? I went to the Church instead of the Police.
After many years of the Church trying to convince me I was wrong, I prevailed. Today, on the Diocese website he is registered as an offender. Of course, it''s mealy-mouthed called "credible allegations'. So there is a REAL truth issue there.
Finally, regarding the near universal regard of Catholic Priests as pedophiles. THAT is unfair.... it would be better said to describe these monsters as Sexual Predators. That's the first step. The second is this and it is quite problematic. Here's the thing, because the Roman Catholic Church has, for decades, covered up any and all incidents of sexual predation, we will never know if there were 5% or 25% or, horrors, 50% of the priests committing acts of sexual predation. What we DO know is that 100% of all priests, bishops, cardinals continued to hide the monsters in their midst regardless of how they were 'formed'.
So don't talk with me about changing the 'formation' of the priests until you clean house..... monastery cells anyone?

A real Christian immediately goes to be with GOD when they die.
As Catholics we need to use the Catholic Bible which is the Douay Rhiems version because the Douay Rhiems version is the most accurately translated from the Greek Aramaic and Latin. The KJV is wrought with misinterpretations, errors, and mistranslations. It is also missing 7 books that were originally put into the Bible. Martin Luther had them removed because of his unbelief in certain parts of the original bible.
Plus The KJV is a Masonic Bible. Look it up.

What Luther did do was to relegate seven books to an appendix-which is called the Apocrypha or Deuterocanon. The seven books were eventually physically removed by an English Protestant Bible publishing and printing company (to save money) sometime between 1825 and 1830.
