This is one song that just tears the heart out of every young man who's had his heart broken by the woman who they truly believed was a soulmate. We feel the emotion in his voice and it hurts.
Y'all are SO cute together! I enjoy watching your interactions as much as I do watching you hear new music!! I got to see them do this in concert, they do indeed put on a fantastic show!! They got a choir or a choral group to perform this behind them in every city they played in!! So it was really awesome for those folks too!!! Lou Graham had one of the best voices & Foreigner was always part of the soundtrack of my life!!!
You can't listen to ANY Foreigner song without feeling it. Every song is a different emotion but you feel it deeply. Keep going... it's a great hole to fall into.
Jordan / Amber - FOREIGNER Playlist: “Double Vision” - “Waiting for a girl Like You” - “Cold as Ice” - “I Want to Know What Love Is” - “ Hot Blooded” - “Feels Like the First Time” - “ Urgent” - “Blue Morning Blue Day” etc.
Foreigner was one of the best ballad bands of the time. Imagine being in an auditorium for one of their concerts, when they do this song. The one time I saw them, the entire auditorium busted out with Lou, during the chorus. 4 - 5 thousand people singing, I wanna know what love is, was beyond unreal.
There are SO MANY songs they sing that you had no idea they sing. I saw them live. Amazing. More songs......Feels Like The First Time, Hot Blooded, I've Been Waiting For a Girl Like You, Urgent, Jukebox Hero, the list keeps going.
This song has been featured in so many things also in the music video there's different kinds of people being featured together which shows great unity no matter the race or culture everyone's getting along and is respectful and respected
Definitely one of the greatest male vocalists of modern times. A certain smokey, smooth, sexiness to his voice with a ton of power behind it. Even at his current older age, he sounds stellar. Dude’s definitely in a league of his own. Killer voice!
Few years ago I got to see Lou Gramm at a small town fair, he sang all Foreigner songs and a couple of his solo. Was so great, love Lou's vocals, one of the top vocalists in rock.
I saw this live in the 80s and at the end of every show they had a local collage choir come out and sing this with them. It was magical! For me it was the University of South Carolina choir.
Oh yes, it was a wonderful performance by one of my favorite bands! I was there at the Carolina Coliseum hat night as well. The USC choir was powerful and provided a goose bump ending to that song!
see how spoiled we all were listening to the radio & watching mtv back then? we had 1 great song after another ALL throughout the 80s...we just had all these bursts of talent and quality 1 right after another.
This was one of my husband's favorite songs for us to slow dance to when we met 37 years ago. We've been married 36 yrs. Needless to say I love the song!!😊😊❤❤
This was the one and only #1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart for Foreigner. This would sadly lead to Lou Gramm's departure from the group. Lou had written the song with Mick Jones but it is only credited to Jones as songwriter. As Gramm recalls, "Mick's home was about 15 minutes from mine. I felt like we spent so much time writing and putting the song together, it was magic." When Gramm met Jones to see the percentages that each person contributed, Gramm had put 35% for him; 65% for Jones. Jones said it was more like 95% Jones; 5% Gramm. It pissed Gramm off so much that he said if Jones truly believed he only wrote 5% then he should take it all, which he did & Gramm left the group to pursue a solo career. One fun fact about the choir ... you hear a female's vocal towards the end singing "Let's talk about love" and that vocal is none other than Miss Jennifer Holliday (Dreamgirls fame).
Just 70s musicians doing what they do best, doing it on into the 80s and 90s. No biggie for 70s veterans. That's what the 70s did to make sure there was at least some great music in that barron waste land.
You like raspy voices Jay...you really need to check out Bonnie Tyler "It's a Heartache" I remember one of my young co-workers that had never heard it before and it came on the radio one day. She immediately said..."She really needs a Ricola! I still laugh just thinking about it. LOL
I love how the video tells the story of the singers in the choir at their "day jobs".. and how they gather together to perform with the band.. and it runs conqurently with the love story of the girl coming to meet him at the venue and it all builds up!
I love that you guys sample music from all genres and that you enjoy most of everything you hear. Your positive reactions are the reason I keep coming here.
Jukebox Hero, Feels Like The First Time and Hot Blooded are my top recs for what to check out next but then there are others like Waiting For A Girl Like You, Cold As Ice, and Urgent that are great too. And yes, Lou Gramm has one of the best rock voices, and one of the best voices in general, in the business. Also, choirs and piano are a couple of my favorite things too, I feel you 😊
This is a great tune, but not their usual style. They were rather hard rockers, and this was one of their few softer songs. Head Games, Yesterday, Urgent, all come to mind for a next song.
"Time you enjoy waisting is not waisted at all." I just spend about 3 hours here, listening to and watching your reaction videos. I love you guys! You are so sweet together and so positive and open to the songs you are reacting to. I am a fan now and a new subscriber here. :)

Foreigner was one of the best bands of the late 1970s and 1980s, can't go wrong with this band :)
This song was huge back in the day. The perfect slow dance song.
Another great band in my era. Foreigner is the best!! They have a lot of great hits!!! I would cruise in my car rockin Foreigner!
There are SO MANY songs they sing that you had no idea they sing. I saw them live. Amazing. More songs......Feels Like The First Time, Hot Blooded, I've Been Waiting For a Girl Like You, Urgent, Jukebox Hero, the list keeps going.
Lou's one of the best lead singers ever...
One of the best voices. Ever. 💜
This song has been featured in so many things also in the music video there's different kinds of people being featured together which shows great unity no matter the race or culture everyone's getting along and is respectful and respected
They did a version for the Shriners Hospitals for Children that is just beautiful. You can find it on YT.
Wow such a powerful beautiful song!!
I was there as well and if I am not mistaken, my old friend Darius Rucker was part of Carolina Alive, the allstar chorus that sang back up.
I would love to see your reaction to Journey.
"Faithfully" is an excellent track.
see how spoiled we all were listening to the radio & watching mtv back then? we had 1 great song after another ALL throughout the 80s...we just had all these bursts of talent and quality 1 right after another.
I totally agree with everything you said glad I grew up in the 80s
Much simpler times
This song inspires chills! Love it so much 🥰
They still bring local choirs up for this song on tour. Took my Mom to see them last year.
Another Foreigner song that's on the slow side that Jordan might like would be "Waiting For A Girl Like You"
Damned great tune.
Yes yes let's get this to be the next one!!
🙌❤️
@@davidrichter9164 indeed, it was definitely a staple for slow dancing
This was one of my husband's favorite songs for us to slow dance to when we met 37 years ago. We've been married 36 yrs. Needless to say I love the song!!😊😊❤❤
My hubby and I have been married 36 years too (this summer)! Our song is You’re the Inspiration ~ Chicago.
One fun fact about the choir ... you hear a female's vocal towards the end singing "Let's talk about love" and that vocal is none other than Miss Jennifer Holliday (Dreamgirls fame).
this song is timeless masterpiece, old but gold
This song is so 80's with all of that keyboard. We need to bring more of that back.
There was a full 80s resurgence about ten years ago.
Just 70s musicians doing what they do best, doing it on into the 80s and 90s. No biggie for 70s veterans. That's what the 70s did to make sure there was at least some great music in that barron waste land.
Lead singer Lou Gram survived a fatal brain tumor in the mid 90s. He turned his life over to the Lord for all of his wildness in the 70s.
You like raspy voices Jay...you really need to check out Bonnie Tyler "It's a Heartache" I remember one of my young co-workers that had never heard it before and it came on the radio one day. She immediately said..."She really needs a Ricola! I still laugh just thinking about it. LOL
And don't forget Total Eclipse of The Heart.
Long version of course.
If Bonnie Tyler married Rod Stewart, what would their kids sound like?
This took me back to my first breakup in college. The choir is The New Jersey Mass Choir, with Broadway legend Jennifer Holliday.
One of the greatest universal love songs ever!💯🔥
I love love love the way you leaned into your wife and cuddled into her shoulder. This song makes you want to do that. Great reaction! :)
You've been reacting to many of my old 8 track purchases ....Bread , ELO , Foreigner , Moody Blues , etc ....Validating my choice in music ..
I love how the video tells the story of the singers in the choir at their "day jobs".. and how they gather together to perform with the band.. and it runs conqurently with the love story of the girl coming to meet him at the venue and it all builds up!
Lou Gramm was one of rock's greatest vocalists. The entire Foreigner catalogue is worth a listen. You won't be disappointed.
The voice…… How many can sing this tune? When you see the live version with the Quire. It’s moving.
"That Was Yesterday" is my absolute fave by Foreigner, off this same album.
This is the band in their sweet spot. They do it better than anybody else.
Positive vibes to anyone reading this today 💖💖
Oh this takes me back to my high school days driving the strip on Friday and Saturday nights …… Seen Foreigner many times and hope to see them soon
They are on tour - heard they are coming thru TN.
Just one more epic classic rock song from that era. 👏🏼👏🏼
I love that you guys sample music from all genres and that you enjoy most of everything you hear. Your positive reactions are the reason I keep coming here.
That last all encompassing "I WANNA KNOW!!!" KILLS me every time.
Aloha I’m a fan Amber i that side eye look at Rob at beginning of the song love you guys and the family stay in good spirits and best of health peace
"Time you enjoy waisting is not waisted at all." I just spend about 3 hours here, listening to and watching your reaction videos. I love you guys! You are so sweet together and so positive and open to the songs you are reacting to. I am a fan now and a new subscriber here. :)
These guys are AMAZING in concert. I saw them about 6 years ago and was blown away. They had our local high school choir come in stage during the choir part and sing with them. It gave us all goosebumps big time! It was the coolest thing ever!
The song you're thinking about from Napoleon Dynamite was "Forever Young" by Alphaville.
which would be a good listen
Forever Young is such an 80s classic sound. Sublime.
One of the best songs EVER. ---- And this IS a "rock band".🙂
Awesome, Amber I love watching you listen to the songs!!!
I love it 😂, Amber had this mischievous grin looking at Jay side eye 🤣. Jay with a scowl, priceless. Love y'all
As someone who was a teen in the 80s, I would recommend George Michael, Boy George, Madonna, Billy Idol, New Edition, Van Halen, Huey Lewis, Hall & Oates. So many more. ❤️
Ugh.... 80's pop..... cue the synth-guitar
There is nothing that compares to being a teenager in the 80's. The best time of my life
@@mikemclaughlin3306 you mean Key-Tar ?!
@@annother3350 hahaha..... an instrument so bad, I couldn't remember it's name
Both Madonna and George were products of the 70s, though we don't claim either one. 😃😁😆🤣🤮
Love this song!
His voice is one up the best in rock. Still gives me goosebumps.
Beyond considering this group, which has a bizziliion great songs. ....This is a really lovely romance song.
Cheers.
"Waiting for a girl like you", "Cold as Ice", "Double Vision", "Feels like the first time", "Head Games", and so many more by Foreigner
