Saw Bon Jovi live in Dublin in 2011. Seriously, they blew me away. Played non stop for over 3 hours. Hit after hit after hit. You really need to dig deep into their catalogue of songs. Amazing band
I don't know if anyone else has mentioned this, but that "wah-wah-wah" effect through the song is a vocal/guitar effect called a talk box. Guitarist Richie Sambora is seen using it in the video. It's most famous for being used by Peter Frampton, and most famously on his song "Do You Feel Like We Do".
Slippery When Wet is one of the greatest albums of all time. It was basically the soundtrack to my junior year in high school. I bought the record and made tapes for all of my friends, just to be sure it was present in whatever car we were cruisin' in.
I've seen Bon Jovi in concert and the energy they give off is just amazing. He is a wonderful human as well. Check out Bed of Roses, I think you both will love it as well.
My mom is a huge fan of Bon Jovi and introduced me to them, so I grew up on their songs. Saw them live twice, too, unforgettable. Living on a prayer is such a classic, the chorus never fails to give me goosebumps no matter how many times I've heard the song or where I listen to it.
Let's face it, there are many great things about Livin' On A Prayer, but its genius is that late D-major-to-G-minor chord shift. It makes a perfectly composed and constructed rock anthem that long since hooked you, absolutely irresistible. Pulls off a similar trick to the one McCartney does with the late chord shift in Penny Lane.
I was lucky enough to see them on this tour. The theatrics and stage show was phenomenal. Whitesnake was played that night as well. WOW!!! is all I can say.
I have seen Bon Jovi three times in concert. One went extra long because the people were so lit that he said the people got extra songs to hear because he considered San Jose his second home. Turned a 2.5 hr concert into 4 hrs and it was a awesome experience
Bob jovis “wanted dead or alive” is great. “I’ll be there for you”is another one. I have seen Bon Jovi two times. It’s not a concert you want to miss. They are AMAZING! Cheap trick is another great band to look into. “The flame” and “I want you to want me”
This wasn't their first album! It was their breakout. They did at least one album prior to this... possibly two. I can't remember now. But I had one of the older ones.
This was the second single of their third record, "Slippery When Wet", which came out in 1986. While the first single "You Give Love a Bad Name" came out ahead of the album in the summer, it was a smash hit but it was the success of "Livin' on a Prayer" in late fall of that year that catapulted the album at no. 1 of the charts in several countries and Bon Jovi into international stardom. The first album was just titled "Bon Jovi" and is known today mainly for its lead single "Runaway", the first professionally written and recorded song by Jon Bon Jovi and the only song from the first two albums to have stayed a setlist staple after the successes of Slippery and the fourth album "New Jersey". The second album was "7800° Fahrenheit", the least played Bon Jovi album until 2015's "Burning Bridges" with only "Tokyo Road" making the odd appearances on setlists when the band played in Asia until the 2001 One Wild Night Tour. The first album was a typical glam metal album while the second album was darker and grittier due to Jon and Richie having both just come out of serious relationships. In Jon's case, things turned around soon after: His ex, his high school sweatheart Dorothea, and he got back together, they married during the Slippery When Wet Tour and Jon wrote a song about that, "Living in Sin", for the New Jersey record. They're still married to this day.
I loved this reaction! ❤️ Being a child of the 80’s, I was a pretty big fan of Bon Jovi. This song was always one of my faves of theirs. I was also fortunate to see them in concert TWICE! Excellent show both times. 😊😊
I've seen Bon Jovi several times live and it is always awesome. Lots of energy. It was my first concert, lost my voice... Lots of lights and running all over the stage.
When Bon Jovi Slippery when wet album came out.... They took the world by storm! It was played EVERYWHERE! Man.. I could hang out with the two of you for hours just listening/watching 80s music videos. 80s were the best time of my life!
Bon Jovi’s “Wanted Dead or Alive” is one of my all time favorites. I saw Bon Jovi in concert for their “Slippery When Wet” tour back when I was in high school. It was an awesome experience!
im 59 and this was my band for awhile, loved the big hair. I seen the Slippery When Wet tour back in 1986. Jon flew out over the audience with that swingy thing. And yes Amber this boy was soooo fine, my God!!!
I saw the Slippery when wet tour in Philadelphia in 1987 Cinderella opened for them. OMG!! I have been a fan ever since. He and his wife Dorthea are what true humanity is all about. I LOVE THEM ♥
Oh man....that's my favourite band and there isn't a song I don't like out of their entire collection. I'm a little fanatic though only in fun. I had so much memorabilia that I have a Def Leppard room where I can go listen and blast their music all day!
My very first concert was Bon Jovi. It was in the 80s. I was 8 years old and we had lawn seats. I still remember how much it felt like a party but towards the end I went with my sisters friends and walked to the seats. We snuck in and danced on the chairs in the back row. I had never felt more cool. I’ve been binging so many videos but this one took me back to that moment. Thank you!!!!
Me too! Back when there were cool clothes, guys wore those tight Cavaricci pants. Remember Seruchi jackets anyone? Who didn't have one of those black jackets in the 80s? And then dance clubs playing slow songs, and guys would buy a rose and send it to a girl, and then go up and ask her to dance. Sigh. There was romance then. We didn't just order hookups like takeout on Tindr, lol. I'm glad I grew up in the 80s. I was 16, when Jack and Diane came out by John Cougar, and boy did I love 16 and 17, lol !!
I love that you two are so into music. I was so lucky that my mum was into music and I heard some of the great tunes she was into when she was young. Please raise your kids to appreciate the music you love. Play it for them, and play it again and again and again. One of music's best legacies is that the emotions music brings lasts forever, for each generation
I discovered your channel just now. What I really liked was not only Bon Jovi and their video on the screen, it was your chemistry and sincerity as a couple and UA-camrs. There are many reaction channels out there, but not all of them (well, the people behind the cameras) have that likeability factor as you two have, nor the understanding of the message those songs provide. Saw them in concert in Moncton, NB 2009! Amazing live. One of the best concerts (sound-wise) I've ever attended. They sound as fantastic live as recorded, which is no small feat. He was a total gentleman, professional, started on time. Of course, Wanted Dead or Alive was spectacular! I swear you could hear 33,000 people all shout-singing "I'm a cowboy..."
Hey! I worked that show! Got to clean their dressing rooms! Unfortunately all that was left behind was an American dime and a beer cap! However I still have my backstage pass and Playlist of what they played from the dressing room wall!Lol.. With AC/DC we got a set of drum sticks and a dirty sock! Haha!
MONCTON, NB!! WooHoo! I am listening from Phoenix, AZ, but grew up in Moncton (Monkeytown)! Hello, Abigail (& Tracy) fellow Canadian Maritimer's)! Cool!
I lost count of how many Bon Jovi concerts I've been to, but they are amazing live each and every time. They've been my favorite band since I was 11 and I am now 47! I've been in the front row at Gillette Stadium (Bon Jovi fan club early access perk!), I've been on the stage (with a group of other contest winners), and I've had Jon reach out and touch my hand during "Bad Medicine". This man and his music have been a great source of comfort and happiness to me over the years. So glad to see that you both appreciate the band so much. Thank you, from a die-hard Bon Jovi fan!
First, Jon Bon was *the* hottie when I was in junior high. The ladies loved him. Second, this might just be the best arena rock song of all time. Third, it should be required by law that when this song comes on the radio, you crank the volume and sing along at the top of your lungs. Fourth, Jon Bon Jovi is a class act as a human being and not just as a musician.
The two of you are terrific; love your chemistry, love your insights, and just now you are good people! It warms my heart to see the younger generation hear and appreciate the music from our youth. My son is 28 and I’ve bombarded him with R&B, early Rao, Classic Rock, 80’s Rock, Disco, Funk, Jazz, Mew Wave, Freestyle since birth 😂 His music taste is so broad and he knows all the good stuff, my work is done 🤣🤣🤣
Never Say Goodbye was the song my senior class picked as their " senior class" song. It was played at our graduation at the end when we tossed our graduation caps in the air.
I was in music class the year this really hit the charts. I remember we actually studied this song, so I knew the lyrics early. I think this song had broad appeal because, y'know, the 1980s and the struggling working class. It was just the right time for Bon Jovi to come out with a song like that.
I was about in 1987 the tour for this album. Yes it was amazing. Yes he flew over the crowd and sang on platform in the middle of the audience. Cinderella opened for them. That’s a band you need to check out as well
One of the absolute best party songs EVER! Imagine dancing to this one at 2 am screaming the lyrics on top of your lungs. Ive been there WOW! Great choice cuties! Big hugs to you both.
Back in the day...I got a concert ticket for the Scorpions... the warm up band...I was like"who the hell is Bon Jovi"... the whole concert was excellent
This is what I call a "goosebump-inducer"... When it ramps up after that bridge at the end?!? WHEEEEW!!! U gotta scream that s~~t! WHOOOOAAA, WE'RE HALFWAY THE-ERE! WHOOO-OAH! LIVIN' ON A PRAYER! 😫😫😫 I'm sweatin'! LOL!!!
I saw Bon Jovi in concert years ago when this song first came out & they rocked so much it was amazing. They certainly know how to put on a show, flying out to crowd it was so much fun!! This whole album was fantastic!
Here's a good Bon Jovi story. Went to their concert around '88 in Knoxville, TN. Halfway through the concert they lowered a catwalk over the audience. Jon was singing a song as he was walking over the audience. When he got in front of us somebody threw a stack of large plastic cups at him and hit him in the head. He was a true professional and never missed a word. He just smiled and kept singing. True story.
When the videos for this album were done, Bon Jovi was actually still an opening act. The director of the video decided he wanted to make the band appears to be bigger and more popular than they actually were at the time, so he filmed these videos with a big stage, full light show, flying thru the air, etc. You want to see how they really were live, check out the video for "Lay Your Hands on Me." That video captures their live show from their "Jersey Syndicate" tour perfectly. It's been over 30 years, and it's still in the top five shows I've ever seen.
Love Bon Jovi, grew up with them and saw them in concert in the late 80’s then took our oldest daughter to see them for her first concert and Chris Daughtery opened for them. It was 5 hrs long at the Staple Center in LA. Have some great pictures.
I love Jon has been with his wife since high school. That must be some strong love. That's so awesome, you don't see that now a days unfortunately. I always loved their music. I have the Slippery When Wet cassette. I played it all the time.
SOOO many good Bon Jovi songs, Wanted Dead or alive, Lay your hands on me, bed of roses, Runaway, You give love a bad name, It's my life, I could go on, I won't but I could. =D
Jon was on Ally McBeal in 2002. Short hair, really cute and a great actor. He's done lots of other things since. I was a late fan of Bon Jovi, but love their music.
This came out in the late 80's, no digital audio boards, no LED lights, the lights here are 2000 watt lights with thin plastic colored film that you had to change to another color if that what you wanted. Artists today have no clue how hard it was back then to create a stage presence. Wearing leather like they are was HOT made you sweat. DMX was still in its infancy and required 3 phase power to run as you has upwards to 500 lights at up to 3000 watts each, need 3 pin stage plugs to handle it. Audio was thru 56 channel audio ANALOG boards. Imagine having to recreate a mix for each song.
Underrated songs of Jon: Stick to Your Guns, Dry County, Wild is The Wind, Every Word Was a Piece of My Heart. To name the few. Cool ballads: Blaze of Glory, Bed of Roses, Always, Lie to Me etc.
I saw Bon Jovi in the mid 80’s and I’m telling you!!!! It was amazing! They sounded exactly like their music videos and the showmanship was just fantastic!
I have only been in the family for about three weeks, but I'm so glad I found your channel. I'm 64 years old and consider myself well versed in all types of music. This song is me and my wife's life anthem! We were married for Three years when this song came out. Coming this August of this year will be 40 years married. IT described us and life together. To any couple, who pairs this song with their life knows what the song means.
Seen them 3 times.everytime Jon let's the arena sing half of living on a prayer. It is amazing! Like every single person in the arena singing at the top of their lungs. The show is one of the best around and I have seen a lot of concerts
Also have to admit - JBJ was friggin' good looking. He still to this day looks 20 years younger than he is - albeit without the hair. Bon Jovi was all over radios back during the 80s & 90s. They infiltrated different genres with crafty lyrics and music and expanded by doing so. I was never a fan at the time they were big, but grew to respect what they did. Musically, not that bad/great overall (8). Personality and interaction with their base - 10. Put them together and it's a solid 9 for popularity.
They have a lot of really good music but for me the most impressive thing is Jon and his wife have been together for 40 years.
That is a miracle for singers

The “OFFICIAL” Blaze of Glory” video must have cost a pretty penny, and yes it’s GLORIOUS. Great song , great video for a great movie “Young guns 2 “.
I'm partial to "Blood Money"
I don't know if anyone else has mentioned this, but that "wah-wah-wah" effect through the song is a vocal/guitar effect called a talk box. Guitarist Richie Sambora is seen using it in the video. It's most famous for being used by Peter Frampton, and most famously on his song "Do You Feel Like We Do".
Also show me the way.

Slash has been using it as well on GNR concerts!
You are such a lovely couple it’s a joy to watch. Amber is just brilliant and watching Jordon discovering “new” music is so great
Slippery When Wet is one of the greatest albums of all time.
Such an immortal rock song that defines the 80's. Simply amazing.
There are SO MANY immortal songs that defined the 80's. What a great time to hear new music!!!
Jon Bon Jovi is a BABE, still is even now, has aged very well, so is guitarist Richie Sambora 🤪😍
AKA a "total fox" - 80s
“The flame” and “I want you to want me”
I vote for LAY YOUR HANDS ON ME, is a good choice for the next Bonjovi song!!!!!
Richie Sambora used to joke about "living on Jon's hair"
He's my age (59), still going.
Bon Jovi absolutely smashed it, with their first album. We were playing this song for months, and months.
@@urthboundmisfit their Previous album Bon Jovi had Wanted Dead Or Alive, and the first single, I remember by them, Runaway.
I loved this reaction! ❤️
Being a child of the 80’s, I was a pretty big fan of Bon Jovi. This song was always one of my faves of theirs.
I was also fortunate to see them in concert TWICE! Excellent show both times. 😊😊
Loved watching Amber rocking out and singing along with a big smile on your face!
Yeah... you can't fake that... Amber so adorbs !
The Slippery When Wet Album was NOTHING BUT #1 HITS ❤
Heck Yes!!!
The best!
I've seen Bon Jovi several times live and it is always awesome. Lots of energy. It was my first concert, lost my voice... Lots of lights and running all over the stage.
I am 70 y/o & have attended 3 of their concerts over the yrs. They are phenomenal. The electricity in the air is the best.
When Bon Jovi Slippery when wet album came out.... They took the world by storm! It was played EVERYWHERE!
Man.. I could hang out with the two of you for hours just listening/watching 80s music videos.
80s were the best time of my life!
Wanted Dead or Alive is my JBJ choice.
It is an impressive power ballad!
Yes, my fav as well.
Bon Jovi’s “Wanted Dead or Alive” is one of my all time favorites.
I saw Bon Jovi in concert for their “Slippery When Wet” tour back when I was in high school. It was an awesome experience!
Good old days when people really enjoy the music and shows just having fun, No Phones or Cameras

im 59 and this was my band for awhile, loved the big hair.
I LOVE THEM ♥
Bon Jovi Dead or a Alive is so good
Best ever
Def Leppard - 'Photograph', 'Foolin', 'Rock Of Ages'.
Oh man....that's my favourite band and there isn't a song I don't like out of their entire collection. I'm a little
fanatic though only in fun. I had so much memorabilia that I have a Def Leppard room where I can go listen
and blast their music all day!
One of the top 5 greatest rock songs of all time! And to think they didn’t want it on the album!
At 48 now I lived it loved the era!! It was a great time tome to be Alive!!
Imagine the energy in seeing him perform this live! It's everything you think and more.
Wanted Dead or Alive...great song...great video
I feel lucky that I grew up in my teens listening to all this 80's stuff!!!
And your name is Barry Allen, you were blessed 😂
Same here 80’s was the best music decade maybe not fashion or hair though 😄
@@wendymetts4490 Not music either.
Jon has one of the best rock n roll voices of all time!
Hell yeah Bon Jovi was and still is hot. Wanted Dead or Alive. Please, please please.
Subscribed.
Cool!
@@waynelong3041 well Hello my fellow Monctonian!
Ritchie Sambora; most underrated guitarist !
Also an under-rated vocalist!
And singer..and songwriter too! xx
Completely agree. His solo album... The tune "stranger in this town." 😉
@@lohar8011 I have all of Richie Sambora’s solo albums. They’re all great but in different ways.
"Never Say Goodbye" is a great Bon Jovi song!!!!
Yup.... Their 80's greatest ballad. 😉 Still have the Slippery album bought by me in 86... 😁
That last note he sings...
I agree and
" Always"
I really think that everyone should listen to
" Bed of Roses"
This is actually my least favorite song by Bon Jovi..
@@aziniowa 👍
My favorite album will always be "Keep The Faith", and favorite song of all is probably "Dry County" 😀
Never Say Goodbye was the song my senior class picked as their " senior class" song. It was played at our graduation at the end when we tossed our graduation caps in the air.
That whole CD is full of hits. They were huge in my teens.
For sure. This whole Album/CD is gold.
That’s a band you need to check out as well
OK, I may be a little jealous. I was/am a fan of both groups.
I Loved Cinderella too!
I saw Springsteen in concert at college. Was not impressed with anyone but Clarence Clemens.
Saw the same concert tour...1984 Hampton, Va...Bon Jovi opened for the Scorpions....great memories
This is what I call a "goosebump-inducer"... When it ramps up after that bridge at the end?!? WHEEEEW!!! U gotta scream that s~~t!
WHOOOOAAA, WE'RE HALFWAY THE-ERE! WHOOO-OAH! LIVIN' ON A PRAYER! 😫😫😫
I'm sweatin'!
True story.
This was from the "Slippery When Wet" tour. Great show! Brings back good memories. Thanks for doing this song!
"I'll be There for You" is one of my absolute favorite Bon Jovi songs. I'd love to see your reaction if you haven't done it already. 👍
"When you breathe, I wanna be the air for you." Love that song.
Yes👍❤The entire New Jersey album.
Omg, Sonia Rangel, I love, love, love that song " I'll be There for You". Now I want to listen to it!! 🥰
“Take my hand, we’ll make it I swear” is amazing. Imagine being that done and just, you take the hand of your lover and you go all in.
Really love videos where you can just tell how much fun the band/group/singer was having!! Also your reactions were everything!
I love that you guys get so excited about expanding your musical knowledge! Wanted Dead or Alive and Bed of Roses are some great ones, too!
John Bon Jovi is AMAZING! Not only as an entertainer, but as a person. I am a forever fan.
Love Bon Jovi, grew up with them and saw them in concert in the late 80’s then took our oldest daughter to see them for her first concert and Chris Daughtery opened for them. It was 5 hrs long at the Staple Center in LA. Have some great pictures.
This is what all the concerts were like in the 70’s. Believe me I went to many!
This was so much fun... great reaction! Other Bon Jovi big hits.. WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE and YOU GIVE LOVE A BAD NAME. Blessings!
I love Jon has been with his wife since high school. That must be some strong love. That's so awesome, you don't see that now a days unfortunately. I always loved their music. I have the Slippery When Wet cassette. I played it all the time.
I've only seen a couple of videos and I'm hooked. You two are so nice and it's refreshing. Thank you. Keep up the good work.
I watched this tonight. BonJovi was AMAZING in concert. Energetic, great music, real entertainment. One of the best shows I have seen.
I have seen bonjovi several times and he is worth every penny paid. Love him
For Bon Jovi songs, I suggest you listen to In and Out of Love, Runaway, Always, and You Give Love a Bad Name.
And Bad Medicine, and Young Guns, I'll Be There For You, Lay Your Hands On Me...so many more! ❤
Oh wow I haven't heard In& out of love in forever!! Great pick.
Always! ♥
You guys are a great couple! It was so awesome seeing Amber mouth the words to this - thanks for sharing!!!!
Hah. The jersey boys!!!! They have so many hits! Enjoy! Loving the channel. Next Bruce Springsteen !!! Our other jersey boy!!
It is very refreshing to see young people like you guys appreciate all types of music. I haven't been through your entire catalog yet so please forgive me if you have already done this song. Against all odds by Phil Collins
I love hair bands Jon Bon Jovi is so gorgeous 🙏🙏👏👏👏👍👍👍👍☮️💟
💯"Its my Life" "Born to be my Baby" 🔥"I'll be there for you" " Living in Sin"🗣️🎙️🔥🔥🔥🔥
This song is me and my wife's life anthem! We were married for Three years when this song came out. Coming this August of this year will be 40 years married. IT described us and life together. To any couple, who pairs this song with their life knows what the song means.
Thank you for posting this but as a young adult in the 80s you make me miss it. Thank you again
