Seeing the reaction from someone who has never heard songs like this is great. I think those of us who grew up with the 70s and 80s music are kind of jaded because we've heard these songs our whole life and kind of take them for granted. My era,the 70s and 80s, had some of the best groups and singers of all time.
You got that right! I'm a huge Foreigner fan but I also loved Boston, Kansas, Bad Co., Loverboy, BTO and so many other great bands from that era. Foreigner's self-titled debut album is my favorite release from any artist but Boston's debut album is nipping at its heels. We were blessed to have grown up with so much great music. Long Live Foreigner!
This song is so special to me. After having had my heart broken so many times by the time I was 50, I had given up. I wasn't sure I wanted to live, let alone love again. I just didn't have the heart to keep going. Then I met a woman with the most beautiful soul who reached down and showed me what love really was. We've been together over 20 yrs now. It's like the old saying "It's always darkest just before the dawn". Pax Vobiscum.
Most popular music now is a science, they know what the beats per minute should be, when to change tempo so people aren't bored, what vocal range keeps people interested, lyrics that are popular....blah blah blah. You have to search hard for the real authentic art.
@@xx-ug9hn there is literally a scientific study on the science of pop music and the formula is used by factories to spew out the same crap again and again. Keep it simple, but not too simple: If your song is too easy to assimilate, the listener will get bored and switch off. Stick a tricky bit in there to keep their attention, then reward them with a catchy chorus. Use backing vocalists: Researchers at the University of Southern California analysed thousands of hit records over the past 55 years and found that background vocals increase a song’s chances of hitting the top of the charts. As a Swedish man born in 1990 this song takes me back to my childhood. Every friend, girlfriend and everything stupid I did to become the man I am today represent this song. It's so cool to see others react to it, it's almost like they see my life even if they don't. God bless all y'all!
You have the most beautiful smile on the internet. When you couple that with a heartfelt rendition of a beautiful song, it magnifies the impact of the song and makes me appreciate it more. Thank you.
@@svenlima God, thank you. I was beginning to think it was just me that was sick of hearing this "and this was done without auto-tune" comment. Jesus, enough already!
I have to say this is one of my favorite reaction videos. I've grown up listening to Foreigner. So I knew what to expect from this song. So glad you liked it.
I love this song since I have first heard it in the 80's. A real timeless masterpiece of pop music. Keep up the good work beautiful Lady! I enjoy your reactions, you seems to be a person worth knowing, kind, respectful, intelligent and thankful. Greets from Germany!
It’s not that we took it for granted. The radio programmers forced us to listen to what the record labels promoted. So many songs were relegated to obscurity for this fact
the creshendo build up at the end when Lou and the choir come in together is pure musical bliss...you can tell they had fun recording this..when this came out in the 80s it was a gigantic hit..check out their other love ballad called i dont want to live without you..
Baby Girl, you have the most honest and sincere reactions. I can share in your emotions by looking at the changes in your expression. It says it all... and many times that joy is beyond words to describe it.
Baby Girl, they got you right from the start on this song. We could all see it in your eyes. And when the chorus with people of all races kicked in your smile lit up everyone's screen at home! LOVE YOUR REACTION TO THIS SONG AND VIDEO!
Mo, I could watch you all day. Your expressions are beautiful and really show how you feel. You are very honest in your reaction to the songs you hear. Keep it up lovely girl. Colin from Scotland
I think I just started junior high when this song came out. Loved it then and still love it now. I still get a chill when the choir comes in. One of the all time greats in my book. You have a beautiful smile that was awesome to see as the song played. Love it when good music can bring that out in people. Enjoyed the video!
I heard someone once say thier interpretation of the song. They said it was about a person who was selfish, and wanted someone to give them love without them giving it back. My interpretation is it's about someone who's been hurt so bad they don't believe in love or it's goodness. They're asking someone they know who is good and kind to help them find love again. To show them that real love is still there, that there are still good people who won't use love then throw it away. And in turn they see a hurting world, and with this newfound faith in love, proceed to help others.
It's about being weary of giving into love after being burned before, and about trusting again asking to be shown what true love is. Giving in to what's an inevitable possibility presented to you.
@@chriscook5613 The lyrics say most of that, but not all. It's about taking time, thinking things over - taking a time out. Yet that does not deny what I've already said about the drive to meld with other being universal and thus religious. Maybe that is what needs to be known. Pursuing love on that basis sets the quest apart from merely fulfilling physical and other transient desires.
A very powerful song. When one stops, turns off the world and listens..... Hits hard. Hard to believe anyone wouldn't like it. I've heard it a million times, still kicks butt. Looks like you enjoyed it, congrats. Foreigner has many great songs. Waiting for a girl like you is definitely another great!!! Have a great day!! :)

I think it's religious - we all want to reconnect, the yearning is overwhelming, and real love is the ultimate experience of it: Love one another!
