Who doesn’t like a good fried green tomato? I just planted my green tomato varieties yesterday, I know it’s late but I can only do what I can do. The green tomatoes look so good. Love this! Wendy❤️❤️♥️🌸🐞🦋
I put mine in the jar fill with water add 1 tsp of canning salt put on my flats and lids . Put in a water bath canner. When it comes to a rolling boil I start the timer for 10 minutes exactly. at the end of 10 minutes pull out immediately to cool. They usually seal in less than five minutes. Ive been doing this method for years. Always good .

an older lady told me to do this a couple of years ago. I was unsure so only did a few jars but oh my goodness...There is nothing like a fried green tomato in the dead of winter.

Are u using the canner on a glasstop stove?
Yes! Just make sure your canner has a flat bottom , not concave!

We cooked fried green tomatoes a few days ago, never ran across someone canning green FOR fried tomatoes later, intrigueing. Thanks for sharing this.
Someone told me after the fact to try adding a little pickle crisp to them as well to keep them crispier.
Can this method be used for yellow squash?
I don’t think so, processing times for squash are quite different.
