In this recipe, to ensure a pH less than 4.6 (ensured citric acid) . So for this recipe, citric acid is as necessary for pressure canning tomatoes as it is for boiling water canning them.

Yes you can! Poke a hole in them with toothpicks first

I made this recipe, but I modified it a bit. I used fresh basil from my garden along with dill and garlic. The basil added a excellent flavor to it!!
