I not only understood him perfectly, but I’m also bout to be chompin on some delicious spicy green maters.
Not sure what's going on with you but as a non-English native speaker, I can understand him quite perfectly. Maybe take your head out of your ass.

I can understand you and I am from Canada .Thanks for the variety of things you can add. Love the fact you don't add sugar. So many recipes with sugar. Tomatoes and sugar do not taste good. I tries tomato with sugar, it completely changes the taste. My grandma loved sugar on everything, he also weight over 300 pound. Ha, he was a good man.
Thank ya for watching and commenting mam, welcome to the channel!! No mam, no sugar for sure and I agree whitcha on not adding sugar!! I preciate ya stopping by and watching, have a great weekend!! Dan
Thanks for this recipe. We made our very first batch a few months ago and the flavours of the tomatoes are amazing! Thank you!! We are about to make our second batch. Thanks from Australia. :)

Thank ya for watching and commenting, welcome to the channel!! Folks have said that I talk funny lol, but I'm glad ya enjoyed the video, have a great week!! Dan
Looks like a really good recipe and with the new water bath canner we bought we can skip the sanitizing first. Also a good use for the green tomatoes we always end up with at the end of the year. Good info and good food. Thanks for the share!
Thank y'all for watching!! We ended up with a lot of green maters as the weather wreaked havoc on everything this year, we're hoping for a better fall garden!! Y'all have a good day!! Dan
You can also replace sechuan peppercorns with the tickle tongue tree berries.
It's also called prickly ash.
We have them wild here in Texas although I believe they have a stronger species in Asia.
They might be in Mississippi, too. You'd mix them with the hot peppers to make sechuan seasoning.
Thanks for the recipe!
Thank ya for watching and commenting, welcome to our community and the channel!! Cool, I've never heard of prickly ash, I don't know if it grows here in the Sip but I'll ask around, thank ya for the tip!! I preciate ya stopping by the channel, come back and visit when ya can, have a great rest of the week!! Dan
@@HomeInTheSticks prickly ash, tickle tongue, toothache tree...all names for it. The bark was used to numb the mouth when native peeps had tooth troubles.
As a side note, I've also seen my cows graze the tips right before going in labor. I've never noticed a full body effect though. Just the mouth.
Really good...first recipe I've made that I LOVE...thank you
Awesome, glad the recipe worked for ya sir!! I thank ya for watching and commenting, welcome to our community and the channel, have a great weekend!! Dan
I basically do mine the same way. I love them. I do the same thing with banana peppers. I slice them into rings and put one teaspoon of sugar per quart to the same recipe. And lots of onions I enjoyed the video.
Thank ya for watching Mrs Donna!! We didn't grow any banana peppers this year but I'm with ya on that, they probably delicious canned like this!! You have a good weekend mam!! Dan

Thanks for the recipe Dan. I actually used your recipe recently as I'm in my new house that I didn't get in till June so the garden here was very late in starting. Good thing is we had plenty of green mater's here in Cleveland. I have canned my entire life and have used both Kosher and Pickling salt. Those who taught me young that the important thing is to never use table salt or salt with Iodine in it. Have a great day.
Thank ya for watching and commenting Mr David, welcome to our community and the channel sir!! I didn't get much gardening in this past season, work has me busy as all get out lol!! Good luck in your new house sir!! Dan

@@HomeInTheSticks I gave these a try and . . .Wow!! I’m a believer!! Truly awesome!! Reminded me of kosher pickles from Jewish delicatessens that were stored in old wooden barrels. Made me wish I had a reuben. 🙂 I made as refrigerator pickles (didn’t can them), but will definitely be canning and putting up a few jars soon. Thanks!

Thank ya for watching and commenting Britton Farm Homestead, welcome to our community and the channel!! Thank ya for watching and commenting Mr Steve, welcome to our community and the channel!! I'd let them maters sit for a week or so just to allow them to soak up those spices!! Thank ya for the kind words and I preciate ya stopping by the channel, have a good rest of the week!! Dan

Good morning Dan. You use the same terminology as I do like "can-ologist" or "water-bath-ologist". 👍👍 Sounds like me. Ok this is new to me. Pickled green tomatoes sounds interesting. Stay safe. Best wishes Bob.
Thank ya for watching Mr Bob!! I had a friend that made Ensaladang Kamatis using green tomatoes, it was delicious!! Y'all have a good weekend sir!! Dan
Wow that sounds delicious. I really do enjoy well almost all of the Filipino food. Stay safe my friend.
Hi, is that a normal pan ? Or do I need to buy a special pan to bath them in?
Thank you.
Hey there Right Choice, welcome to the channel and our community!! That pot that I used is actually a water bath canner setup that I purchased from Walmart several years ago. I would think if you had a deep pot that would allow the mason jars to be submerged in water at least an inch or so from the tops of the jars, you'd be good to go!! Thank ya for watching and I hope I answered your question!! Have a good Wednesday evening!! Dan
@@HomeInTheSticks thank you Dan.
Dan these look, good man. I want to make those too. I am actually making pickles today and man, everybody and their brother must be canning this week. Everything is sold out around here. All the canning salt is gone so I too am using Kosher Salt. I had a hard time finding Mustard seeds too. I am making bread and butter pickles. I can't imagine many ppl making bread and butter pickles or what else they are using the mustard seed for but I had to go to three grocery stores to find it. HA haha. Anyways, I got to try these you are making next time. They look so good.
Thank ya for watching Ronnie and the shelves are pretty bare here in the Sip as well!! We had to order coriander seeds online as none of the stores have them lol!! Y'all have a good weekend sir!! Dan
Home In The Sticks You too buddy!
👍
Thank ya for watching Mrs Linda, welcome to the channel and our community!! Them green maters turned out really good, I'll be ready to to some more next season for sure!! Have a great weekend!! Dan
When I make mine I use the same thing except I use white vinegar. I've never used just water. Do them just like you did tomatoes next time. I think anything saves in that white vinegar. LOL. I enjoyed the video
Sorry I thought I went back to the hot pepper video LOL
Thank ya for watching and commenting Mrs Donna, thank ya for the tip on using vinegar mam, I think I'm gonna give that a try on the next batch of peppers we do!! Have a good week!! Dan
It's all good mam, thank ya for the advice!! Dan
@@HomeInTheSticks it works just add more water before you blend it and cook the sauce. Take care
After how long can we serve them ?
Hello Mrs Rita, welcome to the channel and our community!! I personally let them green maters sit for several weeks to intensify the flavors but one could eat them right away, ya just have to refrigerate them upon opening the jars!! Thank ya for watching and commenting, have a good weekend!! Dan
Hey Dan I am gonna try this recipe and I was wondering ,will the pickled tomatoes still have a nice crunch to them. Reason being I don’t like soft tomato pickles.
Hello Mrs Dana, welcome to our community and the channel mam!! Yes mam, the maters will still have some crunch but will eventually become soft over time. I find that using the smaller pear type maters work better as they stay pretty firm for a longer period of time. Do let us know how yours turn out for ya if ya make them!! Thank ya for watching, have a good Sunday!! Dan
Your smoke alarm needs new batteries!
LOL, I know that now!! Thank ya for watching!! Dan
My husband and I just used your recipe and the tomatoes are in the canner. Husband wants to know how long we have to wait to eat them? Do they have to set for a few days or are they good to go tomorrow morning?
Hello Mrs Cora, I welcome you and your husband to our community and the channel mam!! To answer your question I think it's a matter of preference, I let mine sit in a cool dark place for several weeks before I eat them, to let them spices marry with the maters. I have just put them maters in the fridge and ate them the next day but the flavor wasn't there. What I will say is refrigerate them when ya open them and they'll last a few weeks in the fridge, not over here tho lol!! I hope that answers your question!! Have a good Sunday!! Dan
@@HomeInTheSticks thank you so much for your help. Hope your day is blessed.
Oh yeah! I'm gonna try this out. We had a bumper crop this year. Also, replace the battery in your smoke detector brother.
Cool, let us know how them maters turn out for ya if you give this recipe a try!! Oh those look like they're going to be very very tasty Dan Have you ever left any of your tomato plants to winter over I have got up to three years out of a plant usually just two and do you need to replace the battery in your smoke detector
Thank ya for watching Mrs Babette and I think those green maters are turn out good myself!! No mam, the winters are a little to cold over here to try and over winter a mater plant, especially in the ground. The smoke alarms are hard wired into the house, they don't have batteries lol but we did wonder why ALL the smoke alarms in the trailer chirp like that. Have a good Thursday mam!! Dan

Well TheWhitetailrancher, here in the DEEP SOUTH, we call those green things MATERS, it starts with a M!! You have a good un!!! Dan
Hey Dan, are you of Asian descent? Only reason I'm asking is because I'm trying to create a YT cooking playlist of Southern Americans of Asian descent. At the same time I'm trying enlighten others about their stereotypical beliefs about American people.
