That's how I can my green tomatoes... I love fried green tomatoes I cooked some this week then the next day I made a fried green me a tomatoe sandwich. They also great in a homemade biscuit or cut up with okra and fried. Love watching yals videos because we cook just alike.
I love macaroni & tomatoes, & Butter!!! Granny's nails are so pretty. When my boy was little he called them, "chicken pops!" I make green tomato pie, spices make it a lot like apple pie. All the best from, Canada. 🍅🫑🎃🍁
Good to see y’all. I have never tried canning green tomatoes by themselves. I do put them in chunks with peppers in hot pepper sauce and they are hot but oh so good. Bless y’all.
love me some fried green tomatoes! I wait all year for the first tomato sandwich and the first fried green tomatoes. While I've canned green tomatoes in the past, the results were less than spectacular. Thanks for the recipe! I'm looking forward to my garden giving me the goods!

I was wondering about the water bathing because wouldnt it make them already cooked then theyd get mushy then they dont ahbe the same constanty of a fresh cut green tomatoe because the ways others do it is water bath for 40 mins i feel thats a bit much and they say to do salt with lemon juice then boiling water but my next jar ima try it yr way and see what the difference is
do you mind telling me what variety of tomatoes that is? they produce such even sizes and the colors are exceptional .. thank you for sharing this .. also how long do you leave the jars inverted like that please? i remember doing jelly like that with my mom as a child. But i dont remember how long
Wow that was so interesting I hope you do a lot more videos I'm going to do my fried green tomatoes that way I always have water bath them but no more I'm doing it your way what about squash and potatoes
I was wondering when I flipped one jar right side up, a lot of bubbles bubbled to the top. The tomatoes were supper big and had to really push them in. I debubbled all the jars before adding lids and rims. The jar was sealed. Should I be concerned about the bubbling? Thank you.
i pulled and rinsed them bagged and froze them but i cooked two quarts and they were perfect idont think a cup of vinegar per two gallons of water is enough vinegar@@GrannyWomen

Thank you so much for this recipe..!!! How long will they last in the jars this way?? Just curious..
Ours get eaten pretty quickly during the year. Never really had one go bad. We do tend to eat or give away most things we can within 2 years.
Since your not going to water bath these, do you tighten down you rings tighter? These look great
Yes I do. They turn out great. Just remember ti have your brian really hot

From Memaw:
Those are early girl and better boy tomatoes
And I leave them up side down until they cool and seal.

We have about 200 episodes on our channel! Thanks so much for watching!
Did you put them in room temp jars?
Yes I did
I was wondering when I flipped one jar right side up, a lot of bubbles bubbled to the top. The tomatoes were supper big and had to really push them in. I debubbled all the jars before adding lids and rims. The jar was sealed. Should I be concerned about the bubbling? Thank you.
Also my tomatoes faded in color. Is that normal?
From Memaw- if they are bubbling, they will probably unseal. She said she would put them in the fridge
Maybe there wasn’t enough headspace in the jars?
i did this recipe and it started fermenting and popping the lids
Hmm not sure what happened. We’ve never lost a jar before.
i pulled and rinsed them bagged and froze them but i cooked two quarts and they were perfect idont think a cup of vinegar per two gallons of water is enough vinegar@@GrannyWomen
What is your recipe for canning green tomatoes
They don’t really follow a written recipe much
Depends on amount of tomatoes
She walks through how to do it this episode
How long can i store than?
Ours are typically gone by the next year
