Thanks so much for the video from an older dude that is retired and wants to get back into ice fishing. Dont worry about the criticism from others that have nothing else to do. 😊
This is by far the best step-by-step video I've seen. Thanks for showing all the detail work that went into it. I really like the way you showed close up videos and took the time & slowed down on making the trigger mechanism! This is gonna work out great! Thanks for sharing! 👍
Good video, nice explanation. I have watched a LOT of these, as I learn and learn and learn. Amazing the little tips etc from different ones to incorporate into my own. one thing I noticed, your trigger still has small bends/undulations, and I think that may make tweeking more difficult. perhaps straighten the trigger perfectly straight, then bend it to be 90* to the eyelet, for a start, then tweek as necessary. using geometry and phyisics, you want the pressure to be just a hint to one side of the fulcrum point, THEN when the line pulls the end, the fulcrum moves and the rod tip is not on the other side, allowing the release. a straight smooth trigger aids in this.
I have watched MANY MANY videos and tutorials …… on DIY J.J.’s ……… This REIGNS SUPREME …… On UA-cam, as far as clarity and educational value 🎉 !!!!!!!!! Heading to LOWE’s for PVC and accessories Right Now !!!!! Thank YOU So Much and Merry Christmas 🎄 🙏🏻 ✨🎣💫
Fun idea ! im a bit skiddish about using a metall wire thru the eye of the rod just because for damagin the eyelet so it wil cut the line and then a metall loop against the mainline (im not the kind thats lucky in life so stuff just keeps on going.. ) havent used any jackers in my life so if i find a solution to that wire part then il maybe order some plastic tubes (we dont have that kind here in europe here everything is hold together with braccets and other nutty stuff ... ) anywho il continue to watch this here Tutorial . New video posted to the channel, showcasing the DIY "Jaw Jacker" in action. It took a touch of adjusting on the trigger mechanism, but once it is dialed in, it SLAYS the trout!
nice setup. but i don't like sticking anything thru the eyes, just like never hooking the hook thru the eyes, it will damage the smoothness and will cut your line. just need a loop off the side bar of the eye. good setup tho

Great video 👍 I love this setup for pike and lake trout. I'm making some more of them for this winter.

Great video, I built mine based on the video
Thanks! That's awesome. Time to catch some fish!
Yeah I like the video and it looks functional thanks bunches for sharing bud@!
Totally doing this
This is awesome and I plan on making a couple. The only thing I'm curious about is that having a minnow on the line shouldn't trip it, correct?

Thanks Again 🎉 Happy 2024 😊
Happy new years!
On the wire shorten the vertical on lengthen the horizontal will make it more sensitive to lite bites. (Leverage principles)
Well how do they work? Can you make a video on that?
Planning to! They work well, just have to get the trigger mechanism shaped and fine tuned to your specific rod, and it'll work great

Why doesn’t anyone use a downrigger or planer board release instead of the wire?
I think due to sensitivity.
paint it orange!
political yard sign wire plenty of that around!
Omg you talk to mutch
