DIY IFISH Pro | Homemade Automatic Hook Setter | Hook Setter Tip Up Combo | NPLife

It's currently -33 degrees outside and there is no chance I'll be ice fishing in that cold. So, I decided to take up a little do-it-yourself project. I've been scouring videos looking for the best homemade IFISH pro and auto hook setter Ideas. I've seen a pile of either-or, but never a combo. Well, if there isn't one out there, you might as well make one yourself.

Torching the wood does make it look cool but, most importantly torching the wood has great benefits in preserving and water proofing wood.
Pioneers did it to help preserve their log homes. Great idea, I did build it.

get some heat shrink to shrink onto the trigger side so it doesnt scratch up the eye let.

Made this almost Identical just used a reflective flag and added a bell on the end.
For the setting of the trip of both I just take some slack between the last 2 eyes and set that loop on the flag trigger and the main line as it should and works amazing.

Try a flag pole holder it is adjutable and folds out of the way,cost is about 6.00

Attach the auxillary flag "trip" line to the coat hanger. Keep it in place by
first putting shrink tubing over a large swivel and then putting the swivel onto the coat hanger. Then tie line to swivel etc etc........

I guess I don't see the purpose of the hole and channel like the I fish pro. It would make sense if the line came back towards the reel side but I just missed the purpose of it with your build.

With the line being loose using it as a tip up, I wanted to get it into the middle of the hole so it doesn't catch on the edge. It just seems to work better letting the line fall straight down instead of at an angle. I'm sure you could do it either way.
