Special thanks:
The Band for making this awesome music
Every one of you guys watching this now
I love yall! :)
No, he doesn't sound like Springsteen. 🙃
Yes, more Doors please.
L A Woman
Light my Fire.
lol......no, no he doesnt lol Break on Through would be great but Id love to see someone react to "Not to Touch the Earth"
The End
People are Strange
I didn't realize I loved the doors soo much till now and this reaction / light my fire and strange I was born in 86 so this was before my time but still like my soul music.
THE END!
1. Jim was a lyrical genius.
2. Robby's guitar work was perfect for the vibe of each song.
3. Ray was a wizard on the keys.
4. Since there was no bass player, John was a one man rhythm section, and he was one of those drummers that could be described as a human metronome.
Lolol
There is a bass player on this song. But I get your point.
No no no, just no
Robby is very underated, that guy is a genius.
Most of the studio tracks included a bass player session player. During live shows, Manzerik would play the bass line on the organ.
Need for Speed Underground 2 was the first time i heard this song
Came here to say some serious NFS2 vibes going on.
The fact this man didn't say that too made me feel old and also kinda like OK I get it there's new generations now like people wearing f.r.I.n.e.d. TV show t shirts but never new it was a TV show... Happened to me like 2 weeks ago.
Yup, me too.
Remix by Snoop Dogg but I liked the original more ever since I heard it.
That was the remix with snoop i think
Fun fact: The Doors didn't have a bass player, what sounds like a bass guitar is actually played on the organ.
Who needs other instruments when you have an organ?
Actually, Jerry Scheff, who played bass with Elvis Presley was the bass player on this song and was in the LA Woman recording sessions.
@@recyclerhopkins Holy shit, apparently they did use a bass player in most of the studio recordings but not live. Thanks for replying and making me look.
No, Ray Manzarek played it on a separate Fender rhodes Electric basspiano.
You can check it out on all live clips of the Doors.
@@MikeHanson also the great Carol Kay sat in on a lot of Doors sessions as well
Me and the metalheads when Alex calls himself a metalhead:
ONE OF US! ONE OF US!
Thanks Kronk. Very cool
..ONE OF US..
Gooble gobble!! Gooble gobble!!
@@xtldc We accept you , one of us !
Didn’t he used to call himself a hip hop fan?
One of the greatest "vibe" songs of all time. Doesn't matter if you're driving on a trip, or just chillin by a pool, this song just works. The Doors have an arsenal of amazing tunes, so if you were to do more, you're in for a treat. ~Be Blessed
Alex, If you do a reaction of the Door's song "The End" make sure that it is the uncensored version.
yeah.. then see if he can wrap his head around horse latitudes .
please do the live version from 1968 at the hollywood bowl
Totally agree. The End is by far the best song to do a reaction to!!!
That's the one to gooo
Love that when he started this it was “hip hop head reacts” and now it’s “metal head reacts” we successfully converted him
You’ve gotta do “Light My Fire”. I guarantee you’ll forget where five minutes of your life went. In a really good way. The musical interlude is mesmerizing.
I agree Light my Fire is a master piece.
This is the End , My only Friend , The End .
If you want to analyze deep lyrics, you have to jump to The End. It gets deep!
It’s good to see you reacting to classics like this.
Interesting how you mention it sounds like background music while listening to poems. Morrison is considered by many to be the greatest poet/lyricist of his Era.
Agreed
React to more doors: LA Woman, Roadhouse Blues, The Changeling, they have a lot more good music
Break on through, love me 2 times, people are strange, alabama song, the unknown soldier... Too much good song
Agree, LA Woman for sure!
Their album with LA woman is a straight classic
While Jim was the face and voice of The Doors, Ray was the soul of the band on them keys 🎹🎵
Roadhouse Blues, L.A. Woman, Light My Fire are all iconic.
The keyboard in the intro where it sounds like rain is my absolute favorite part of this song. Ray manzarek was a genius.
“This song makes me just want to chill and smoke a cigar.”
They were smoking something else, as were my friends in college when listening to the Doors and Floyd.
The Doors are an all time favorite classic act for me, super artistic and chilled out half the time, wildly rambunctious and untamed the other.
React to "Peace frog" from the Morrison Hotel album which is my favorite album from them. Also watch "The Doors" movie directed by Oliver Stone. Val Kilmer did a fantastic job portraying Jim.......The Lizard King!
Val Kilmer was great
This song is a total classic. Probably The Door's best song. Also reminds me of playing Need For Speed Underground 2 back in the day.
Yeah me too! Need for speed underground 2. Skindred nobody aswell, who I've seen live and are amazing. Also love the doors people are strange song.
Glad I’m not the only one who’s reminded of that game :)
Break on through is a really close second though
@@son_of_nemesis8957 yeah brilliant song. Was in Tony Hawk underground 2 I believe.
The film is great too. On Netflix in UK, val kilmer is John morrison
I can't believe you've never heard anything by The Doors! Great way to start listening to them though. This was the last song on their final album as a group recorded shortly before Jim left for Paris where he died just over 50 years ago.
Yeah, he was only 27 when he died too.
You are way off with that Springsteen reference LOL
"Actor out on loan" is in reference to how old Hollywood studios had their actors under contract for I believe seven years..If the actor was freed up with down time the studio could allow them to be "loaned out" to other studios, (kinda like a short term free agent) as long as it didn't interfere with their primary work with their contracted studio.
I agree with the people on here that say you MUST listen to and react to THE END. You probably get a Springsteen vibe because Jim and Bruce are both storytellers. And yes Jim was the penultimate American Poet! React to THE END you will not be disappointed!
When I was a little kid back in the '60's (about 5 years old) I remember taking long car trips with my parents and most of the time we listened to country music (my dad's favorite) but sometimes he would turn on the rock station for my mom. I remember laying in the backseat looking at the full moon and this song came on. From that moment I was forever HOOKED on rock and roll.
I think first and foremost Jim was a poet and everyone in the band was very, very good at what they did. Doors is less to be made sense of and more to be enjoyed as a mood.
Love your reaction and glad you gave the back story! The first date with my husband, we rode around and listened to this song. 25 years later, we still ride around and listen to this song! Love it!✌️
I started to listen to The Doors as a teenager 30 years ago and although I don't listen to them very often anymore they'll always stay on my all-time favorites list.
Greetings from Germany
Same here - also from Germany
Same here -from New Zealand though.
Springstein? That is the single dumbest thing you've ever said in your life 😁 I mean that in the most loving way possible
Springstein wishes he was half as sexy as Morrison.
@@douglasleinbach6313 And that he had a fraction of Jim's talent! RIP Jim Morrison, 50 years just recently
Thanks for taking care of that one for us...
About 30 years ago, I drove from San Diego to Los Angeles (LAX) to catch my return flight to Montreal. It was early evening and darkness was setting in sooner due to the thick dark clouds, suddenly I hit some thunder storms... I turned on the radio and that song started playing on the very first station I tuned in. It was a magical moment! 😁
These guys are a complete masterpiece..music and musicians
I love organ music! My dad had a cassette of psychedelic rock, which of course included the doors, that I would hear in the car a lot, esp on long car trips.
Let me recommend Iron Butterfly's "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida" and you'll definitely want to do the research before hearing that one too. Lol
"Peace Frog" needs to be done.
At night in a heavy rain storm in my 65 Chevelle convertible (top up) was my favorite place to listen to this song!!!🎼👌🎶👍🎵✌️😁
This song is soooo magical... It has been one of my top 10 fav songs of all times since I was 14. :) When you're just listening from start to finish you won't even think about the fact that it is 7+ minutes long. It feels like it's over sooner than it begins. :D Please moar, Alex! You can never have too much The Doors in your life, whether you're young or old :)
fun fact about this if no one has mentioned it, snoop dogg did a song sampling this under the same name and actually shouts jim out as if it was a collab but he actually died in 1977
The keys are jazz, the bass line is Cadillac pimp, the guitar is spaghetti western, and the storm is nature. Next-level music.
Classic right there! Reminds me of playing NFS Underground 2 like 15 years ago, great times! :)
First heard this on the radio, as a thunderstorm outside washed away the last snow of winter.
Years later, hearing the song still reminds me of that "perfect" setting.
That screenplay that you talked about was made into a short music video of this tune.
The piano solo part gives me chills! You need to do a reaction for "Light my fire", it's one of the best rock songs I've ever heard on my entire life.
Definitely the right choice to listen to this on headphones.
Alex listens to a song once and has a much deeper understanding of what the lyrics are really saying than the millions of people who have heard thousands of times
One of my absolute favorite Doors song.
Ray Manzarek was the keyboardist on this. Amazing musician! Actors out on loan!
You haven't heard the Doors?
Love that you call yourself a metalhead now! It fits! Glad you joined the metal family
That intro was quite clever, I appreciate the wink wink nudge nudge you tossed in there, lol.
That song, when it rains.. and you're in the dark with your partner. Magic.
I cannot emplore you enough to listen to The End. and much of the doors music was Jim's poetry. That and Ray Manzarek was a beast of a musician.
I don't know if I've watched anyone react to the Doors. Awesome choice and reaction.
I turn 40 this year. The doors ushered me into psychedelia in the mid to late 90s. Jim's poetry inspired me to start writing. I hold this band near and dear to me.
Please react to L.A. Woman by the doors please
I've been watching you for a while now and am amused that your videos went from having 'hip hop head' to 'metalhead' in the titles. It's been a joy to watch.
You should react to The Doors - The End! That song is just a whole vibe with a train wreck of emotions.
Magic!
I am a truck driver and I always play this when it's raining
Radio stations where I live play this song every time it rains.
This is one those songs where it is best to listen in total darkness, just gives it another dimension.
Half expected you to snap your fingers after you took a drink 😁 Great band
It happens to be Sunday. It’s 10:06 on a bright and sunny beautiful Sunday morning. Saying from a little tv show I know. “I’m easy like Sunday morning!!!” Lol
React to the "The Lizard King" Mr. Thomas says Morrison is a lyrical genius, perfect example "The Lizard King" is considered in it's pieces to be some of the grearest poetry of the 60's
do a double react to summers almost gone! the official studio version and then the demo version of 1965, that way you can hear the contrast between his first singing style and his later style. and its pretty relevant since were nearing the end of summer
My parents, sister and I were on a cross country trip the summer LA woman album was released. My dad had a three-month vacation that year. Unheard of nowadays. All you had in the car was the radio. Not even sure we had FM then. So of course, this song was being played the whole way from PA to Cali. Fantastic memories of the whole trip. I had a book of poetry by morrison called the celebration of the lizard king and I lent it to a friend and of course I never got it back. One of the things I regret getting loose from me.
You HAVE to react to "The End" by the Doors!! You won't regret it! It gives me goosebumps every single time I listen to it! 😍
This is part of my premetal childhood. Before I heard Ozzy's Diary of a Madman I mostly listened to 60s and 70s rock. I still love this it's just that more stuff got thrown in the mix.
THE STRANGLERS "WALK ON BY" & "GOLDEN BROWN"..CLASSIC MUST HEARS..TRUTH!!
This is crazy cause I grew up listening to the doors and it was a non stop thing. Obviously I wasn't alive when Jim Morrison was alive but the thing is that I'm actually names after him to!! I have banners and tshirts of just the doors!!
great reaction video - thank you!
The Doors = Springsteen? NO and never 👎
You are spot on when you said The Doors is such a vibe 👌 awesome music right there, my favourite song by them as a metal fan is Break on Through, great song 🤘
He actually did a lot of spontaneous poetry at their concerts. So yeah your thoughts on the coffee house and turtleneck sweaters isn’t too far off. Except it was leather and lsd. 🤷🏼♀️
“except it was leather and LSD” 😂😂😂😂 bri you just made my entire fucking night 😂🤘🏼
You must try The End.
Maybe its been posted for a while, maybe I just noticed it now... but "Metalhead's..." Atta boy! He has been converted. Congrats!
There's nothing like listening to The Doors and relaxation.
Smokin a little herb
@@ThisisStephennn to each their own I suppose.
Do Springsteen “ Born To Run” to get a good idea of his music. But he is best known for his live performances and long sets.
Go out in the wee hours of the morning and drive your car around the city when all the traffic lights are flashing yellow and listen to this song with the windows down.
Hello from Cody Wyoming! You are awesome keep it up... you are one of my favorite reactors🤠
"The End" - The Doors
Alex, check out 'Light My Fire', 'Break On Through' and 'People Are Strange' (Which you'll recognise if you've seen 'The Lost Boys'!).
Listen to THE END, but make sure you take a few hits. It will make your jaw drop!
Now we're talking THE DOORS iconic then & now. LIGHT MY FIRE is a MUST.
Love how he is now a metalhead!
This is my favorite Doors song and one of my favorite all time songs. But to me there's an eerie quality to the song. My other favorites are Break On Through, Crystal Ship, and Roadhouse Blues.
Peace frog is my all time favorite song. Your mother is probably so proud you are finally reacting to the doors
I’m glad to see your reaction videos again. This is a great song. Even though it’s 2021 his music still sounds trippy.
Yes,, While it's raining would be optimal,, But totally relaxed & comfortable in the dark with the volume on max is also quite optimal as well.
I like to listen to a song my self before a reaction if I haven't listened to it myself on full. Never was a Doors fan, I've heard this song in bits so many times. The full song is very chill. Also love how you said "lost as Columbus was"... I laughed so hard
Yessss finally The Doors!!! More Doors for sure!!! Roadhouse Blues, People Are Strange, Break On Through(To The Other Side), my favorite song is The End, Light My Fire, The Crystal Ship, Touch Me, Hello I Love You.
So your thing is metal but id love to here your thoughts on more punk.
Finally my favorite band, please react to more songs of them, I love you
Morrison has a poetry album called "American Prayer". Two of the Doors longer songs are amazing. Check out "The End", and "When The Music Is Over", both dark brilliantly lyrical tunes .
Been watching ur vids for a couple years an they're fucking great lmfao the metalhead community is thinking mission accomplished🤟🔥
You definitely need more Doors in your life. So many great songs
I missed you, Hugh Hefner's grandson! Lol. Where you been? Maybe UA-cam stopped suggesting you to me? Either way...welcome back and thanks for opening the DOORS! LOVE YOU, BRO.
You just stopped getting notifications or what?
@@AlexHefner I don't know. I usually just scroll through and their algorithms tell me what to watch? I never stopped watching you!!! They stopped suggesting you, to me. I hope that makes sense. Again, I think you are great and I love your reactions. Thanks.
@@AlexHefner I got my comment deleted by the algorithm too I guess UA-cam hates our country.
I highly recommend the movie The Doors. The singer is played buy Val Kilmer, and it's really good.
I absolutely love this song. My favorite from The Doors. Please do more.
hell yeah. my favorite band
So, here a little tidbit and someone else may have already said...along with every single lyric sang on this song, Morrison recorded a track of him whispering the lyrics and overlaid that onto the lyrics that he sang. If you listen closely, you can hear it, and when you notice it, you realize how much that adds to the song.
Oh my....I started listening to The Doors as a little kid!
Getting stoned and listening to The Doors…….those were the days. What a time to be young.
Ive definitely sat at a dive bar with this on in the background sipping whiskey and smoking a cigarette.
