The Band for making this awesome music
Every one of you guys watching this now
I love yall! :)
def leppard reaction hysteria def leppard reaction pour some sugar on me reaction alex hefner #defleppard #hysteria #rickallen
You know the song is legendary when it makes you smile. I’m 24 years old and I wish I had lived the 80’s. The best era of music!
I'm 57, so the 80's were my teen era. Just look everything up and listen to it, my friend. I will only say I sometimes look up videos like this this to watch those that weren't alive during that era's reactions.
Two words for “that 80’s sound”.
MUTT LANGE.
Point ^
One word: chorus
(Referring to the guitar effect)
One of a few great South African contributions to rock music...another being Shaun Morgan and Seether...
Two others: Rockman X100
Two other words and a third: Tom Scholz and Rockman
'Bringing On The Heartbreak' was the song that got me to buy Def Leppard back in the day.
Same! Their live version is great, usually an acoustic first half and full on finish.
Still one of their best.
Same here.
Oh man, that song still hits hard.
First 4 albums are excellent, Adrenalize and Retroactive have some good songs, and there are a sprinkle of good songs after that.
All I can say is “Love Bites”!! If you like Hysteria you’ll love the other.
love bites is my favorite def leppard song, and was the only #1 hit from the hysteria album.
I concur wholeheartedly!
Yes please react to "Love Bites" you'll love it bro!
THE WHOLE ALBUM!
I'll agree the whole album is awesome, but, for me, Love Bites is my least favorite on the album. Just never understood the whole "do you look in the mirror" part of the song. Like, is the person imagining making love to themselves?
What an absolute classic beauty song. The 80s were just right. A perfect place to be. Boy I miss the 80s
Oh you're not the only one! I miss the 80's terribly!
Me too. I just wish I didn't take it for granted 😞
Miss it badly!
Me too!! ❤️❤️ 80's!!
Born in 1966, Do the math.
Everything about that decade was the best.
I wish you could go back to the 80's Alex and see what an impact this music had on us. The first song I remember hearing from Def Leppard was Rock of Ages in 1983. I've been a fan since then and its still one of my favorite songs. You can go back even farther though and react to Bringing on the Heartbreak 🔥🔥🔥
Yeah! I'm 47 .... Miss the 80s even more each day! Had this as a teen.....on cassette! Ha ha. LOVE HIGH N DRY ! VH though is my fav band of all time....love both eras!
People miss so much these days, I remember tape trading with my friends, sitting for hours and hours hoping to record the new song from the radio, lining up at the shop to buy the new album, the smell of the new package and the excitement of flipping through the booklets.
What do we have now? A soulless click on a streaming site 😪
Aww i think everyone wants to go back to the old days..
"Sarasota High School Class of 88 in Sarasota, FL" - The 80s music is very special to many whom was a teen of that decade. I still own my records and cassette tapes. My first 45 record was "Another One Bites The Dust" by Queen and Michael Jackson's "Off The Wall" album/cassette.
Nailed it. The 80s rock and metal shaped my entire existence. Right now the Japanese rock scene is full of the sound and groove. Check out Band Maid ( Domination live) and Aldious (Fragile) for a taste.
You should read up on the 3 year long hell-hole that was the making of the Hysteria album. Makes you appreciate the final product even more.
For real, Steve Clark and the Alcohol and the trials they all endured....its amazing we are lucky enough to hear this Masterpiece
Yeah, just ask Ric Allen and Steve Clark's family!!
Talk about the struggle being real right
One of the best albums ever!! Imo
Daaaaamn, Capp be errywhere #7DTD
Still insane to know that Def Leppard hasn't been heard by so many people. One by one, welcome aboard!!
R.I.P Steve "steaming" Clark
Yes, alcohol sucks, destroy lives.
He was so under rated - especially by himself. No confidence, gentle, kind giving guy. Love him and always will.
The Riffmaster will always be remembered
“Rock of ages”.... “Photograph” are both awesome Def Leppard songs.
photograph was the song that got them a ton of radio air play and is also a song the band hates to play live, because they have been playing at every show for 38 years. hahaha
love both of those. Don't forget "armageddon it" and "rocket"
Foolin' is a great tune! I love everything on the Pyromania album!
Def Leppard is the definition of 80’s rock to me. This was also me and my wife’s wedding dance song.
Did she get hysterical after the wedding? haha
This melody is so simple but it totally gives you the feels.
A wonderful melody which I believe was written and played by Dave Gilmour from Pink Floyd on Goodbye Blue Sky from The Wall album.
I grew up on this band this song will never get old
Me too! Awesome times! ✌❤
@@rebeccarockchik6704 Me TOO!
Same man. My first favorite band! And my first concert!
No kidding. I've passed it on to the next generation. My daughter loves Def Leppard.
when I was in grade 6, i had Def Leppard's Hysteria and Guns n Roses' Appetite for Destruction on repeat lol
Me too. I was 10 at the time.
Def leppard was the first band I ever loved. My mom took me to my first concert when I was 7 in Cincinnati and it was def leppard, Tesla and the goo goo dolls. Great show!
You need to hear some old school Def Leppard my man. Check out Bringin' On the Heartbreak, this is their most iconic song if you also play the guitar solo Switch 625 that follows it. That's the way that rock stations back in the day, some still do, played it. They would call it the European mix and not even acknowledge the solo was a whole other song on the album.
High n Dry
That was one of their best songs IMO. It didn't sound poppy or commercial.
Wasted!
When doing Bringing on the heartbreak make sure it is a version that includes Switch 625.
Bringin on the heartbreak is a tune and a half but it’s not their most iconic song g
One of the absolute best songs in their catalogue and they have alot. This band stuck together through thick and thin which is why they are still together and still tour to this day.
Been a Leppard fan my whole life. No matter how hard and heavy they got this song is their peak for me...
Gimme songs. I wanna hear more from them
High and Dry album for me
@@elian.emiliano love bites, rock of ages, excitable and more!!
His face with the smile says all about Def Leppard. My absolute favorite band of all time.
I absolutely LOVE seeing another generation discover the magic of Def Leppard. Btw.. they have a huge catalogue of music!
My all time favorite band!
I got called “white trash” for saying that on Twitter. I stand by my words. And I dumped twitter. Lol
DEF LEPPARD IS AWESOME! Here’s more bangers:
Rocket
Foolin
Armageddon It
Love Bites
Photograph
Pour Some Sugar On Me
Animal
Bringing On the Heartbreak
Too Late For Love
Rock of Ages
There's your list, Alex! Can't wait for you to dive in. Nostalgia for me as they came out when I was in high school. Young romance, cruising the strip, and field parties with 100s of friends and way too many kegs! Ahhh.. the memories!
What about let's get rocked? :(
@@Mr1995Driver another must listen!
@@lynrossi8409 so underrated imo
Steve Clark solo in this song was so good.
There's a reason this is the title track to one of the biggest albums of the era. ❤🤘
Love this version with the dog doing background vocals. Very cool remix.
The 80's may have the most recognizable style of rock music ever. When you hear it you immediately think "80's". I'd give the 70's the nod as being a little better decade of music over all but the 80's were just so damn fun!
Never heard the dogs barking on that guitar solo before! 🤣🔥🤘🎸
Def Leppard is part of the soundtrack of my high school years. 80's music really was something special.
Animal & Love Bites are not to be missed from the Hysteria Album. Photograph, Lets Get Rocked, Rock of Ages & Foolin' are fantastic too! Get your jean jacket and cover it in patches and buttons. Don't forget your roach clip with the feathers and rock on!
Imagine being a kid when this album first came out and growing up to this as an Anthem of life bro 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻
Bringing on the heartbreak
Rock of ages
Love bites
This is by far my favorite Def Leppard song. It just gives me such good feels
More Def Leppard Alex!!! R.I.P Steve ''Steamin'' Clark, he was my favorite band member, great guitar player.
Love these videos with Steve! RIP
You're damn right that this is pure nostalgia. This album and "Pyromania" always bring me back to the early-to-mid-80's when I was in elementary school and my older brother was in high school or starting college and he would come pick me up after school in his old blue Chevrolet blasting those albums as his Def Leppard logo keychain swung back and forth from the ignition and I'd sit on the passenger seat thinking there could be nothing as cool as this. A few years later he took me to my first concert ever and, yeah, it was his favorite band Def Leppard. At the end of the show when they were taking their final bow I gave Rick Allen a thumbs up and he was cool enough to give this pre-teen boy in the audience a thumbs up back. Good times.
There're so many great Def Leppard songs to mention here's a few.
Armageddon it, Let's get rocked, Heaven is, Make Love like a man,Photograph, Rock rock till you drop,High 'N' dry,Promises, Goodbye etc.
Def Leppard is still to this day my wife's favorite "baby making" music. Classic song classic band classic reaction!
The 80’S will never be beat. The music was REAL and it made sense and it wasn’t all perfected by a stupid computer. The 80’S will always be best decade for music and life in general
80s & 90s
Music now is just as good. Every era has good music.
@@BrotherDave80 No dude. The 90s is what killed everything that was good.
I was a late 80s, early to mid 90s kid. I can say that, hands down (as I became older), the best music written in the last century was that from just before the early rock and roll era: jazz, blues, folk and country. Those alone inspired mostly everything from the early 50s and onward.
The 80s was beat by the 90s when we were reminded what the music of the early 80s was like before it became a mess of hair bands constantly doing party music and extreme metal pretending they were Satanists. The 90s were constant through the decade producing real music.
I had the Hysteria cassette tape and played so much it separated at the seams! I scotched taped that sucker back together and it worked perfectly. I still have it today! 🤘🏻🇬🇧
haha been there
I was 11 when this came out I loved it then I love it now.
the album Hysteria by Def Leppard is what it all started for me in 1988...they were my door to heavy metal...i grown into black metal and thrash...but still live the hard rock...and glam metal
"Hysteria" is the best album in the history of music!
it is certainly among the most credentialed: of the 12 songs, 7 singles in the us top 100 (every song on side a was a single), with 6 being in the top 20, and something like 25 million units sold!
Yeah, I wouldn't go that far. Love this album, but would still take Pyromania over it any day. Hysteria was a little to poppy sounding compared to pyromania.
@@randywissler9923 i agree. pyromania and high n dry are more "rockin'". and daron from system of a down said pyromania was one of his biggest influences.
Pyromania what is the quintessential album that launched them to fame.
Awesome album but I’d pick a few Van Halen albums first.
The greatest 80's hard rock band.
Being born in 1974 I grew up heavily Influenced by Def Leppard. Absolutely loved them then and to this very day get that old nostalgic feeling listening to them. I remember buying this on cassette and literally wearing it out. Thankyou for the trip down memory lane. Keep up the great content.
Bringing on the heartbreak.
Probably my fave Lep track. Has that warm, summer tone to it
If you do one more song from this album, it’s gotta be Gods Of War. Possibly my favorite song by them
Seconded. Gods of War is great 👍
Absolutely YES. Love that song so much.
This guy gets it ^
Gods Of War is my favorite song on Hysteria and it's one of five out of 12 songs that wasn't released as a single
Yes on God's of war!
I've died & gone to Heaven...
Alex Hefner + Def Leppard + Hysteria
The tri-fecta!!
Such a masterpiece, jesus
You must react to the entire Hysteria album, man!!! It is one of the greatest albums to come out of the eighties, and its all like this...🤘🤘✌️✌️
This song takes me back to my mullet and torn blue jeans days
Mullets were awesome back then lol
I met my husband at about the same time as this album was released. He had a starter mullet and the tightest acid washed jeans known to man. It wasn't love at first sight, but it was definitely a pretty good first sight...lol.
Born in 79, grew up in the 80’s and Def Leppard was my first love when it comes to rock n roll. Always loved the Hysteria album cover ! God I miss the 80’s !!!
Thank you for finding Def Leppard! Absolutely one of my all-time favorite bands!
Photograph is probably my favorite by them. Bringing on the Heartbreak, Love Bites, God's of War, etc. They have lots of great songs.
Please read up on the story of Steve Clark, one of the greatest guitar players of all time! Really wish I could have seen him perform. He was a huge role model for my dad back then.
THE GREATEST 80’s Rock Band Everrrr!!!🥰🎶
The guitar parts are fantastic in this song. Two different riffs that seamlessly blend into a clean but complex sound.
Their "In The Round" Tour was one of the best shows ever. My favorite Def Leppard songs are:
1. Too Late For Love
2. Foolin'
3. Gods Of War
4. Let It Go
5. Bringin' On The Heartbreak
Start with the first album On Through the Night and listen to Wasted and Rock Brigade for some raw kick ass hard rock from Def Leppard.
🤘
Driving hours thru the rain with the very CD on repeat, that's what you want to do!
I've been to 50 plus concerts since the 70s. The absolute best was Def Leppard in 2018!! They completely blew me away and the roof off 🤯🤟
Yeah, this one is super nostalgic. It marked the end of high school for me.
Me too! This came out around the beginning of my senior year. What a great time to be a teenager!
My second large concert and one of the most amazing concerts I’ve ever seen. Queensrÿche on their Operation: Mindcrime tour opening for Def Leppard on the Hysteria tour. Absolutely unbelievable.
Queensryche is another awesome band! Love operation mindcrime!
Wow. Mindcrime is a masterpiece from start to end.
Oh! I forgot too! It was “in the round”. Stage in the center of the auditorium! Was so awesome!
Thank you for reminding me of operation mind crime! Love that album! Well said!
The true character of a man. Never give up on someone for anything that you wouldn’t want someone to give up on you for. Def Leppard never gave up on Rick Allen. They left the decision up to him. Facts! They all agreed they would not replace him unless it came from him. It never did and all of us fans are grateful.
Def Leppard is my favorite 80s rock band!!!!!!! I'm so happy you're doing another reaction.
Loved the video! You definitely need to do more hair metal! 80’s were pure magic! 🔥
This takes me right back to my cute little 20yo self. You've got to do Love Bites! That one really hits home.
I always have to crank this for that SUBLIME clean guitar tone. It's so good.
Thank You for Def Leppard! So many memories. You can react to Def Leppard's Love Bites, beautiful ballad.
The Hysteria album was designed to be like Michael Jackson's "Thriller", in the sense that each song would be a potential single, MTV, Radio hit. "Animal" is one of the best known song from it, and it again is a great song. Huge chorus, massive vibes. The "Pyromania" album from 1983 was the real breakthrough. A more rougher, edgier sound but again a huge, futuristic sound for its time. "Photograph", and "Rock of Ages" are the big ones there, but really the whole album is good.
Pyromania > Hysteria > High 'n' Dry > On Through the Night
ua-cam.com/video/qSnxHmpfUkA/v-deo.html
That may have been the intention, but there is some filler. Excitable, Run Riot, Don't Shoot Shotgun. Also Gods of War isn't really "single" material as much as a great concept album type track.
@@stevebennett9750 I agree about those songs you mentioned. I never liked 'Excitible", its just not a good song and is dwarfed by the songs before it. And yeah, "Run Riot" is a feel good energy rush, but again more of a deep cut. Gods of War is an awesome album song that works wonders live, but wouldnt have translated as good on radio.
Actually, I believe "Women" was the first single/video they made for the American market to launch the album, and it didnt hit the bullseye as intended. The nxt set of videos is when it really took off. In the UK, Europe I think they went with "Animal" first and it was a huge success off the bat.
@@kylereece1979 you are right, "Women" was the first single released off the album and it fell a little flat. It wasn't until the live show did people get to like that song.
I'm biased as I love the entire album (yes, even excitable). The concert was one of the best I've been to and that is probably why I like the whole album.
Let it Go by Def Leppard and Shepherd of Fire by Avenged Sevenfold
RIP Steve Clark, he was a great guitar player, seen them on the Hysteria tour, and twice in the early 90s. I wore out 3 Hysteria cassette tapes lol
Im a 80,s kid my favorite rock is 80s💗💗💗🤘🤘🤘🤘
Their first two albums were their best in my opinion.
Yup, raw DL, after that they went commerial :(
Absolutely. High n Dry and On Through the Night. Their best work.
If you liked Hysteria, you'd really love "When love and hate collide!"
It was the best time EVER!!! Great reaction, Great song!!! 💜🤘😎🔥
For those of you who do not know this at all,
Def Leppard came out in 1977 and it's 2022 now. They've been around for quite a few years now and they're still putting out some great songs to this day
Hysteria was the 1st Album i ever bought as a 14 year old kid from Sheffield
First album my auntie bought me as a 8 year old from Doncaster. 😂👍
Another great reaction! They have so many good songs throughout their career. I would 100% recommend a full reaction to the 'Hysteria' Album. Every song on that album is a banger. I would go as far as to say the best album ever by any band.
glad i got to see them live at least once, they are great!
These guys were my first rock gig back in 2003
I'm going to see them next year, front row. They are touring with Poison, Motley Crue, and Joan Jett.
Saw them a few times back in the day, some of the best memories at their shows!
Def Leppard is just Amazing. My fav band
Thank you for the bringing back wonderful memories.
Bringing on the heart ache, Foolin', Rock of Ages these are song from their 1st Album Pyromania.
Pyromania was 3rd after "On Through the Night" and "High and Dry"
Bringin On The Heartbreak is from their 2nd album High N Dry
Def Leppard really does have some of the most beautiful songs.
Got to see them in concert twice. The whole stadium rocked!
Rock of Ages
Photograph
Love Bites
Hysteria
Animal
Foolin’
Bringing on the Heartache
Two Steps Behind
Def Leppard was awesome in concert!! I’m an 80’s girl 👍🏼❤️
I loved every bit of this reaction. And like you said, it gives you a serious nostalgic feeling, which is weird since we're both '93 babies, but it feels like growing up. It feels like those summer days in between school years, playing all day, hist pure bliss.
My mom got me a Def Leppard greatest hits album about 10 years aho and I listened to that thing damn near every day. There was something about their sound... it was pure 80's but not in a generic sorta way. It was unique.
If you wanna look up more Def Leppard, "Photograph" (nothing like the Nickelback one, which is still good), "Rock of Ages", "Foolin' ", and "Animal" are some solid hits.
I agree with all of these picks
Gods of War is such a criminally underrated track (and my personal fav). It's from the same record.
That chorus. /chefs kiss
I was in my 20's listening to this, I LOVE Def Leppard, Best band ever!! :))
When this came out I was seeing a Marine that I met at Camp Pendleton. He was sent overseas to Okinawa for two years. We wrote to each other constantly. This was "our" song. Chris, I do miss you.
Billy’s got a gun is the most underrated and under played song by Def Leppard. But about 95% of Def Leppard songs are good for jamming to. 🥁🎸🤘✌️
I agree. That's always been my favourite Leppard song.
ua-cam.com/video/qSnxHmpfUkA/v-deo.html
This entire album is nostalgic for me.
My favourite Def Leppard Song. 👍
I was born in 1953 and grew up with so much great music in all those years. I got to experience these songs in the era in which they came out. Hearing these songs brings back so many great memories. It's heartwarming to see your reactions to those songs and those eras. So glad you enjoy them as much as I did and still do.
Alex totally gets it! I'm 42yo and I was raised with this king of music.
Great choice. This is one of the best albums ever!
Yep! Well said Alex......You have the 80's respect now! 👍🏼
My favorite 80's song. Still gives me chills almost 35 years later
You should really do a Hysteria full album review before you hear any more. The album is that good.
You should check out their High 'N' Dry album. Different vibe. High 'N' Dry is an awesome song. Or Let it Go.
MIRROR MIRROR!!
Lady Strange... learning to play the guitar riff in that song was an obsession of mine back in the day.
True brotherhood there. They actually waited for him to relearn the drums. True testament.
Timeless is perfect for this song. A true classic 💕
