Morning Yoga Poses for Beginners at Home

  • The perfect yoga routine to energize and wake up in the morning.
    This 12-minute video covers beginner level yoga poses: mountain pose, forward fold, plank position, chaturanga, upward dog, downward dog, warrior 1, warrior 2, peaceful warrior, extended side angle, lunge, lower back stretch, pigeon pose, pretzel stretch or reclined pigeon, child's pose.
    No music, just my voice taking you through relaxing stretches to get you ready for your day.
    I recommend doing this in the morning after you wake up and walk around. If you need to eat before you do this, wait at least 30 minutes until you have digested.
    This free yoga video is to be done at home or in a studio. I do this yoga routine every morning. Please consult your physician before trying any new exercise.

    This is great! I wasn't able to follow the whole way, but I think I did okay. This was definitely easyer than the last vid I watched.

    I feel like this routine would be amazing for running it encompasses alot of the core stretches went to bed early last night so I could get up early this morning and do some yoga and create a new morning routine, loved it thanks for sharing

I have just started following the poses this week - following on from 10 minutes of meditation practice - and I am finding that they are helping me to come into my body at the start of the day (and this from someone who has fought against yoga for years!)

    Thank you very much. I'm glad you are enjoying it. This type of yoga can be considered Hatha yoga - moving through basic yoga poses while breathing and centering your mind.

    im going to try this, i heard it has a alot of benefit, im into fitness and i will try to have this at my mornings, well see, i hope im not the only guy in the world that does this lol, great job with the vid :))

    I find the downward dog position to be the most difficult, especially since I have really long legs. Haha

    Hi, this is a great video. It's my first time doing yoga ever and I'm finding it hard to keep my back and legs straight in some positions. I'm a heavy cyclist and my leg muscles are always very tight hence why I wanted to start yoga and keep myself flexible. Should I just continue with this until my body starts to ease? Thanks!

    Great yoga stretches to start my day and lovely voice! Is it just me or is the audio just a bit behind the moves? Sometimes I can't watch the screen. Thanks for a lovely workout!

    this was my first time trying these poses and I woke up sore the next day! am I just that out of shape or am I doing them wrong?

      Considering you have said that your muscles have never moved in this way, it sounds like you are simply sore because you tried something new! The soreness will go away with time and practice. Congrats on starting something new!
