    ### Key Takeaways from Dr. Paul Saladino on the Best Protein Sources for Longevity:
    1. **Whole Foods Preferred Over Protein Powders**:
    - Dr. Saladino prefers consuming whole meat products (steak, hamburger, liver, heart) over protein powders. Whole foods provide a more complete nutrient profile and better health benefits.
    2. **Animal-Based vs. Plant-Based Proteins**:
    - Animal-based proteins are superior in digestibility and bioavailability compared to plant-based proteins. They contain all essential amino acids and lack the digestive enzyme inhibitors found in plant-based proteins.
    3. **Heavy Metals in Plant-Based Proteins**:
    - Plant-based proteins often have higher levels of heavy metals. A study found that 75% of top-selling plant-based proteins on Amazon had high levels of heavy metals, compared to fewer animal-based proteins.
    4. **Concerns with Soy Protein**:
    - Soy protein can reduce androgen receptor densities, affecting testosterone function. Although some studies show no effect on sex hormones, other research indicates it may lower androgen receptor levels.
    5. **Benefits of Beef Protein**:
    - Beef protein is high in glycine, important for collagen formation and overall health. It offers benefits for those looking for a comprehensive protein source that includes both collagen and muscle meat.
    6. **Advantages of Whey Protein**:
    - Whey protein is high in cysteine, which boosts glutathione levels. Dr. Saladino prefers raw whey protein, which retains more beneficial properties, though it is difficult to source due to processing and regulatory challenges.
    7. **Importance of Quality and Transparency**:
    - Consumers should look for protein supplements that provide a certificate of analysis (COA) to ensure low levels of heavy metals and BPA. High-quality standards and transparency are crucial for health and safety.
    8. **Collagen Supplementation**:
    - Marine collagen is generally of lower quality and higher in heavy metals compared to beef collagen. Consumers should seek high-quality collagen supplements and be cautious of those from lower-quality sources.
    9. **Practicality of Protein Powders**:
    - While whole foods are preferred, protein powders can be beneficial for convenience and meeting dietary needs, especially for those with busy lifestyles or specific health goals.
    10. **Product Development**:
    - Dr. Saladino has developed a grass-fed beef protein powder that includes organs, aiming for a clean product without artificial additives, catering to those seeking high-quality protein supplements.
These takeaways emphasize the importance of choosing high-quality, animal-based protein sources and being cautious with plant-based proteins due to potential heavy metal contamination and lower bioavailability.

Paul be up on his studies and on his research and I wish most carnivore leaders out there will stop hating on him. So he eats fruit and raw honey. So what? I do too and it doesn't hurt me not one bit. In fact, it actually improved my health tremendously so I see nothing wrong with adding fruit and honey to the mix because it actually helps keep the carnivore diet sustainable and it keeps you with all the electrolytes the body needs. I went to my doctor and got blood work done and he informed me that my blood work results are off the charts excellent and I owe it all to people like paul. Paul is definitely the truth.

If he were to be more like the average person who works out once per day for an hour or so than sits around for the rest, he would be having issues. Also, an A1C test does not measure fructose which fruit is loaded with. Don't get me wrong, I do agree with how he backs up his stuff with studies and he seems knowledgeable. Find someone who is 100 and ask them what they ate all their life. The UK has a load of very very old. None are taking protein powder.
when they are interviewed, most just eat eggs, meat, fish and fowl and fruit and veg and some legumes, a bit of cake and biscuits for morning tea, and a million cups of black tea with milk a day.
my parents ate as I do now, beef, eggs, dairy, cheese, fowl and fish, loads of veg and some fruit and legumes and a million cups of black tea with milk all day.
we children now in our 60s were raised on real food. the only one not healthy is she obese smoker/drinker who takes the most supplements.
My paternal grandparents never ate nuts or Gogi berries or 'functional coffee with mushrooms' or magnesium supplements etc, or took protein powders.... both lived to nearly 100 in good health.
the other grandparents on my mothers side - grandmother smoked, grandfather drank a lot of whiskey and smoked, with the same diet - died before 80.
My aunty on my fathers side, last one left, is 96 - eats typical Aussie diet - meat, eggs, veg, fruit, white bread, butter, dairy milk, some cereal grains. on no medications.
    Like my mother.
My mother is 91 in perfect health. She eats eggs or porridge for breakfast, full fat milk, soups and stews with meat and veg and legumes, consumes fruit and nuts. She's not fat and never smoked. doesn't own a microwave so all meals are cooked from scratch.
On both sides of the family tree, smokers/drinkers (addictive genes I think), died young in their 70s the rest live on... and on and on and on. My mother is the last one left her sister died recently at 97 in another country, ate no beans, hated them, never took supplements, ate no nuts, (hated nuts), consumed animals and veg and grains and fruit, bread, butter, dairy, including the usual cakes and biscuits for morning tea, and so on. all home made.
a thousand cups of tea with milk.
common themes - no junk food - no smoking - no obesity - no processed crap - limited alcohol - moderate activity levels - no protein powders - real food - loads of cups of tea - no sugary drinks, juices, or supplements.

He reads studies with confirmation bias and then cherry-picks facts. He is rattling off these studies, with his own conclusions, which actually is the opposite of the context of the study he quoted. Lol one example, the soy study he quoted was actually talking about the POSITIVE effects of isoflavones on inhibiting prostatic cancer growth in situations where the cancer cells are resistant to other treatments. Apart from that. Every meta-analysis of clinical studies / controlled studies shows no change in testosterone among men and soy is a staple in several of the healthiest diets in the world… the Okinawan, Japanese, Korean, Thai, and Indian diets. The same can be said for Seafood, which he also railed against. In fact, they all feature BOTH ingredients heavily. So I guess they should have heavy metals shooting out of their ears LOL. As far as protein powders go, whether you get animal or plant protein… there are several lab testing sites you can check for label accuracy, safety of ingredients, and heavy metals content found. Make sure your lab tests come from INDEPENDENT sources, not labs thats are affiliated with the corporation thats producing the protein powder.

I wouldn't use dairy tho if I was lactose intolerant which most of the population is ... especially after infancy. If you have these questions then for peace of mind maybe a lactose intolerance test would be in order. I have seen over time that a ton of folks notice their skin clears up when they stop consuming dairy. If none of that applies to you I wouldn't worry about it I only advise moderation in almost everything.

I thought the same. This is the same theory behind Mercury poisoning, that it gets concentrated the higher you go up the food chain. That's why smaller fish like sardines have fewer heavy metals than big Predator fish like tuna. So wouldn't cattle or other animals that eat the plants actually end up concentrating more of the heavy metals?

No. He explains it clearly in the video that plants not just take them up and they store it, so they making a concentrate about it. Just think about it if an animal eats *too much* heavy metal they get sick or even die. A plant can "eat" a lot more heavy metal because they can store it in the leafs and crop.
