### Key Takeaways from Dr. Paul Saladino on the Best Protein Sources for Longevity: 1. **Whole Foods Preferred Over Protein Powders**: - Dr. Saladino prefers consuming whole meat products (steak, hamburger, liver, heart) over protein powders. Whole foods provide a more complete nutrient profile and better health benefits. 2. **Animal-Based vs. Plant-Based Proteins**: - Animal-based proteins are superior in digestibility and bioavailability compared to plant-based proteins. They contain all essential amino acids and lack the digestive enzyme inhibitors found in plant-based proteins. 3. **Heavy Metals in Plant-Based Proteins**: - Plant-based proteins often have higher levels of heavy metals. A study found that 75% of top-selling plant-based proteins on Amazon had high levels of heavy metals, compared to fewer animal-based proteins. 4. **Concerns with Soy Protein**: - Soy protein can reduce androgen receptor densities, affecting testosterone function. Although some studies show no effect on sex hormones, other research indicates it may lower androgen receptor levels. 5. **Benefits of Beef Protein**: - Beef protein is high in glycine, important for collagen formation and overall health. It offers benefits for those looking for a comprehensive protein source that includes both collagen and muscle meat. 6. **Advantages of Whey Protein**: - Whey protein is high in cysteine, which boosts glutathione levels. Dr. Saladino prefers raw whey protein, which retains more beneficial properties, though it is difficult to source due to processing and regulatory challenges. 7. **Importance of Quality and Transparency**: - Consumers should look for protein supplements that provide a certificate of analysis (COA) to ensure low levels of heavy metals and BPA. High-quality standards and transparency are crucial for health and safety. 8. **Collagen Supplementation**: - Marine collagen is generally of lower quality and higher in heavy metals compared to beef collagen. Consumers should seek high-quality collagen supplements and be cautious of those from lower-quality sources. 9. **Practicality of Protein Powders**: - While whole foods are preferred, protein powders can be beneficial for convenience and meeting dietary needs, especially for those with busy lifestyles or specific health goals. 10. **Product Development**: - Dr. Saladino has developed a grass-fed beef protein powder that includes organs, aiming for a clean product without artificial additives, catering to those seeking high-quality protein supplements. These takeaways emphasize the importance of choosing high-quality, animal-based protein sources and being cautious with plant-based proteins due to potential heavy metal contamination and lower bioavailability.
It’s actually simple: the most basic diet should be meat, eggs, fruit, and honey. You can experiment with a few other things outside of that if you choose.
People have these influencers completely misunderstood. They give you this info in tiers. There are levels to eating a proper diet. He even opened up by saying there is a time and place for them. His message is good if you just apply it to your own situation. People need to stop being critical and overthinking this.
Paul be up on his studies and on his research and I wish most carnivore leaders out there will stop hating on him. So he eats fruit and raw honey. So what? I do too and it doesn't hurt me not one bit. In fact, it actually improved my health tremendously so I see nothing wrong with adding fruit and honey to the mix because it actually helps keep the carnivore diet sustainable and it keeps you with all the electrolytes the body needs. I went to my doctor and got blood work done and he informed me that my blood work results are off the charts excellent and I owe it all to people like paul. Paul is definitely the truth.
Paul has aged dramatically over the past couple years. That amount of carbs doesn't hurt him now because he never stops being active. If he were to be more like the average person who works out once per day for an hour or so than sits around for the rest, he would be having issues. Also, an A1C test does not measure fructose which fruit is loaded with. Don't get me wrong, I do agree with how he backs up his stuff with studies and he seems knowledgeable. Don't be scared at eating everything, Paul's diet is good to follow if you can, the main thing about this diet advocates for whole foods which you are able to digest and feel good for the rest of your life, people just look at him divided because they are usually forming tribes over diet cultures( keto, carnivore, vegan) you don't have to literally take everything he says to the core, just listen to him to gather information and eliminate few foods you may not feel good or like to eat, that's about it.

Same. I thought I was unable to have no diary whatsoever then I had all the raw products and can have every single one! What’s interesting is that when I cooked the raw milk with eggs I must’ve heated the milk to high and felt the irritation in my stomach/etc. I make burgers and don’t melt the cheese on top and just put it in top and is fine. So intriguing 🤔
I don't have access to raw milk (in Canada), but I do make my kefir with grass fed milk and filter the yogurt (with coffee paper filter), resulting in fermented grass fed whey protein + cream cheese. I think that's a great option given what we have currently available here. If anyone wants to try it, my way to drink this whey is with the juice of half a lime and a drop or two of stevia for each cup of whey. 😉
I agree with the reviewer who said they'd be more interested in Saladino's opinions in another ten years. At this point I take ALL expert opinions with a grain of salt...
Right, and the recommendations of the AHA and the standard American diet has served the population so well. Better to at least try and be more healthy.
For soya you do not have to refer study, in general when you eat red meat your s.. Hormone goes up and you feel better but when you eat tons of soya you feel bloated and your so hormone goes down
@thomasdelauerofficial you did a really great video years ago that had a detailed explanation about digestion and how glucose goes strait to the bloodstream, how fructose can interrupt liver process and how the liver converts fatty acids to ketones. I'm struggling to find it. I'm asking here only because it's your most recent video. Obviously not related to the subject here. Although this video is great!
I hear conflicting things about raw dairy (I am an advocate and love it myself) but all the talk ie we shouldn't be consuming milk from other animals etc etc... would love a video on this.
I certainly wouldn't care about what other animals do as an argument against ... I wouldn't use dairy tho if I was lactose intolerant which most of the population is ... especially after infancy. If you have these questions then for peace of mind maybe a lactose intolerance test would be in order. I have seen over time that a ton of folks notice their skin clears up when they stop consuming dairy. If none of that applies to you I wouldn't worry about it I only advise moderation in almost everything.
I wonder about the prostate cancer and soy protein connection. The traditional Japanese diet is super soy heavy and their prostate cancer rates were historically low compared to Western countries, but have gone up in recent years with experts here claiming that the Westernization of the diet is partially to blame.
I thought the same. This is the same theory behind Mercury poisoning, that it gets concentrated the higher you go up the food chain. That's why smaller fish like sardines have fewer heavy metals than big Predator fish like tuna. So wouldn't cattle or other animals that eat the plants actually end up concentrating more of the heavy metals?
No. He explains it clearly in the video that plants not just take them up and they store it, so they making a concentrate about it. Just think about it if an animal eats *too much* heavy metal they get sick or even die. A plant can "eat" a lot more heavy metal because they can store it in the leafs and crop. 2:55 in the video
I have been there done that and I tell you that Im already really TIRED of all those " what to eat" channels. Im sick of all those questions like " which protein are best??", " plant protein vs animal" .... I love all those gurus saying " if you look at the latest paper on that..." .

carnivore two and a half months haven’t LOST AN OUNCE!!! I’m beginning to feel this is an OLD BOYS CLUB…what the Fk??? Not an ounce. I eat small meals only two a day. I can’t eliminate anymore calories or I’ll be eating AIR ONLY.
Eat only whole foods, cut calories to a deficit (use cronometer it's free), lift weights, do cardio even if it is only walking and eventually you will lose and it will get easier and easier to lose as your ratio of muscle vs fat changes.
Protein in Human Breast Milk. There are two classes of protein in breast milk: Casein and whey. Casein becomes clots or curds in the stomach; while whey remains as a liquid and is easier to digest. Depending on the stage of milk, 80% to 50% of protein in breast milk is whey [11].May 11, 2016

Love titty milk! Especially Cambodian titty Milk.
Are you a Lactation Consultant also named "wet nurse" ? guessing their called "coaches" now a day's.
Try to get raw milk kefir from A2 cows (usually Jersey cows)- it’s a great source of probiotics.
"expert opinions" lol - too right!
Right, and the recommendations of the AHA and the standard American diet has served the population so well. Better to at least try and be more healthy.
Is it normal for grass fed, grass finished beef to smell and taste gamey? I tried a brand and I didn't enjoy the taste. The meat was fresh, though.
Yup, grain and corn makes meat sweet
Great video very informative. Thank you.
Great content- thank you both so much! More please together!!
Sunwarrior didn’t want to sponsor this video? 😂
The Bible specifically mentions milk as a food source, especially for women. It’s all in Leviticus!
I wonder about the prostate cancer and soy protein connection. The traditional Japanese diet is super soy heavy and their prostate cancer rates were historically low compared to Western countries, but have gone up in recent years with experts here claiming that the Westernization of the diet is partially to blame.
Paul Saladino is my idol. The haters are just jealous of his life style that we all wish we could experience.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Whats the word for lactoferrin bind? C-h-e-l?
I think chelation🤔
Here's a way to upgrade chuck - sous vide a 4 lb chuck roast for 5 hours before throwing it in a pan or on the grill basted in butter.
Nobody sous vides a chuck roast then cooks it like a steak. It’s a chuck roast bud 🤣

If plants have heavy metals, wouldn’t the beef that eat plants have the same ratio of heavy metals??
I also find this hard to believe.
20:32
No. He explains it clearly in the video that plants not just take them up and they store it, so they making a concentrate about it. Just think about it if an animal eats *too much* heavy metal they get sick or even die. A plant can "eat" a lot more heavy metal because they can store it in the leafs and crop.

Paul, I just purchased your LINEAGE AB Complete protein. Just arrived this morning. Thanks.
I thought we could find Dr. Paul surfing ? Somewhere
👊🙂 *Tan Twins?* Saladino displayed 800-900+ Testosterone levels in mid 45+.

Is the stevia that is present in Transparent Labs, dark chocolate whey protein isolate harmful for any reason?🦋👣

Paul Saladino: I won't touch this.

What about eating raw jello?
I have been there done that and I tell you that Im already really TIRED of all those " what to eat" channels. Im sick of all those questions like " which protein are best??", " plant protein vs animal" .... I love all those gurus saying " if you look at the latest paper on that..." .
So in summary, the best protein source are beef and whey.
@ Tomas
What you think abaut hemp protein
I've been saying this about ground beef!

Thomas I love your videos and have followed you for several years. I normally ignore a lot of health videos because every swinging tuber wants to post something, but you bring it down to the science. Well done! - You occasionally ask for content request... I would seriously enjoy seeing you post something about this video or the subject, because this one really caught my attention: ua-cam.com/video/jnbGuZIPljs/v-deo.html - Keep up the good work! -Drew
Why are we still pretending he knows what he’s talking about if he completely abandoned what he claimed was the healthy diet
Oh, so you want someone so rigid that they won’t change their mind no matter what the evidence and first hand experience shows?
Probably because he actually evolves his beliefs with new discoveries and researches and so on?
How can liver be good for you when it's literally a filter? I'm not saying it is, it's just always been in the back of my head that it is.
It's not good for you, but it makes a lot of profit for liver shills.
@@weldonwillifordrealtor Please enlighten me why liver would not be good for you?

In other news, the quickest way to lose my interest is to include this goof in your video.

We have cold-pressed raw milk in Australia
Where do you buy if from? Coles? Woolies?
Isothiocyanates are good????
These guys are Mr. Flip Flops !!
I don’t see the point in interviewing Paul “I’ll say anything for clicks” Saladino. Zero credibility.
Bingo!

Is it me or does Paul sound like he just ran up a set of stairs to get to the interview?

LOL sure...
Only weigh 185lbs? Wow you look at least 210lbs. Which is a compliment
Maybe is is much shorter than he looks ?
Id never touch plant-based proteins without watching any video
Hello Mr. Zachary, when are you going to make more New 2 Torah videos?
The part that surprises me is that Thomas is about 185 pounds. I'm lean, 160, and barely look like I work out, yet he's busting out of the seems of his shirt, lol.
Maybe Thomas is really short 🤔 😆🤣 185lb and that built🤔😄

10:23 there is casin and whey protein in human breast milk
No mentioning of protein from mushrooms ...
link to study ?
these are arbitrary measures, there's a longer list on why animal protein is bad if we compare it to plant also, if that animal ate plants all his life how comes he has a lower heavy metal levels than plants lol
Credibility being lost with Paulie Salads here.

carnivore two and a half months haven’t LOST AN OUNCE!!! I’m beginning to feel this is an OLD BOYS CLUB…what the Fk??? Not an ounce. I eat small meals only two a day. I can’t eliminate anymore calories or I’ll be eating AIR ONLY.
Eating only meat ?
Eat only whole foods, cut calories to a deficit (use cronometer it's free), lift weights, do cardio even if it is only walking and eventually you will lose and it will get easier and easier to lose as your ratio of muscle vs fat changes. Carnivore just usually cuts out processed food and is easier to implement IMHO than veganism but you should always have fiber so I would recommend eating greens as well.
@@Wile.E.Quixote YES….thank you!
@@Cervin_Suisse Eating roughly 4 oz of Beef, or Lamb, occasionally chicken. Will start to add some greens. I’m in a deficit now, next I’ll be sucking in only air. This damn weight won’t budge.
That's surprising indeed. I lost 40 lbs in less in 6-7 months by switching to low carb diet. Reversed my diabetes type 2 as well.

Nat protein *concentrate?*
@@UHaulShorts Whey protein isolate has more fat and lactose removed than way protein concentrate.
PS: According to a HealthLine article I read, which is sourced to a PubMed publication, isolate has far less carbs and lactose (almost an order of magnitude-you could consider carbs a proxy to lactose, if you read labels) than concentrate. They involve different processes.
