Ever noticed that this goes for most of the truly great voices? You know who I'm talking about. There's good singers, even great singers ant then there's "them". Floor Jansen, Amy Lee, David Draiman... the list goes on, but not for long. All really humble, down to eath peolpe who, given a microphone and a stage can unleash so much energy and talent that it's hard to really fathom just how amazing they truly are.
He is that type of person, that would bring me to (happy)tears if I would have the honor to meet him in person just by saying 'Hello' to me. He is a god of songwriting and composing!
Liara666 He is truly amazing, the whole band is, tbh. A very humble soul. I had the honor of meeting him and some other band members after a concert a few years ago and when I told him what his music meant to me, he actually blushed!
"I've seen this performance probably 50 times now, never gets old." Same here. I'd have to say this and Disturbed's The Sound of Silence are the two of the most beautiful songs in existence. I know Toto's saying, "Yo, Africa!" and John Williams is rolling in ready to cause some trouble, but... WOW. Nightwish + Floor really made magic this night. Wish I could've been there. No matter how many times I watch this and no matter who it is reacting, tears every time. Can't think of another song that can do that like Ghost Love Score can.
Floorgasm: Common signs of a floorgasm are 1) Sudden loss of words in the midst of a sentence 2) Jaw dropping 3) Eye widening 4) Goosebumps and chills 5) Increased heart rate 6) Tears start flowing 7) A flow of words usually used in this way during certain other situations (OMG, WOW, incredible, soo gooood etc) 8) Heavy breathing 9) Throwing random shit around 10) Sinking back in the chair in complete surrender when Floor finishes her last note 11) The audience is completely exhausted but happy, the mating process is complete
Wacken 2013 were the best days of my life. Was more or less there for Motöhead but fuck yeah, i fell in love with Nightwish and mainly the goddess back then.
Edit: Read my long ass comment. It took me a while to give you all this info about the band. lol. They're really good though. Nightwish has had 3 singers over it's lifetime so far. This singer's name is "Floor Jansen" She's the current singer for the band. The song however was released on the album "Once" back in 2004 when they had their original singer Tarja Turunen. Tarja was classically trained in singing opera and has a very operatic style of singing. She was their first singiner, and had been a part of the band from 1996 when the band formed to 2006 when she left the band. During her time with the band, they put out 9 albums together. 5 of which being studio albums, and 4 being EP's. Their second singer Anette Olzon was more of a rock type of singer. She has a very agressive punchy kind of voice. Her first album was "Dark Passion Play" It was released in 2007. It was written for Tarja's singing style and some parts sound very forced with Anette's voice, but still sound really good. It's personally my favourite album by the band. "Imaginaerum" which came out in 2011 fits Anette's vocal range MUCH better. Toumas (the keyboardist) did a really good job writing songs for her on that album. Now we come to Floor. Floor replaced Anette when she left the band in late 2012. Floor was originally part of another band and simply joined Nightwish to help them finish their tour. (a lot of Symphonic metal bands are REALLY close, and they all play in each others bands. It's actually really cool) Floor later joined the band full time (along with Troy on the pipes) after the tour was over and the band saw so much success and hype from the fans. So far they have done one album with her; "Endless forms most beautiful". She is extremely talented and can sing both Tarja's, and Anette's parts very well. She has incredible range, and great stage presence. And lastly, we come to Marko. Marko is the long haired blonde viking looking bassist you see on stage. He has; in recent times; started singing a lot more. He did a couple of duets with Tarja on their first 9 albums, but really came into the spotlight when he started singing on "Dark Passion Play" and "Imaginaerum". He has great range as well as he can hit very low notes, but also has a naturally high singing voice. If you want to hear him singing with the girls just listen to their Phantom of the Opera duet with Tarja (It's really good) Bye Bye Beautiful, The Islander (One of my personal favourite songs. It's a slow song) I want my tears back, and Ghost River. Edit: I wrote this out, so if you want to react to each generation of Nightwish you have an idea of what you're looking for. This for example is a song released in 2004, but performed in 2013, so it's their newest singer with a classic song.
This. Alex, you need to see this comment especially. Now that you're ready to fall in love with Nightwish, it would be good for you to react to Nightwish songs featuring each of their three singers. My personal favorite is Floor (sorrynotsorry to Tarja fanatics), but they all bring something awesome to the table. For more Floor reactions, you can't go wrong with ANY song from this Wacken concert. It's amazing start to finish.
i feel like anette joining was one of the best things that could happen to nightwish. It forced toumas to try to write in a more rocky, less operatic style (not that it sounded forced) and made their sound much more varied, also propably helped massively making the transition to floor and writing with floor much easier, since now both styles were already tried and using floor with only one or the other wouldve wasted her talent. That being said, the one song i stand by that floor cant sing as good as anette is storytime, which is my favorite nightwish song :c
Actually Marko is not the original bassist of Nightwish. The first studio album he appears on is Century Child. If you are really interested in what he can do with his voice, listen to a band called Tarot.
The first time I watched this show, I was still in uni and I put this on for background music while I studied. But I couldn't. I found myself falling helplessly in love with this woman - who was she? What was going on? Seen them live twice since, and will every time I get the chance. One of my favourites.
Losing Jukka and then Marko is a one-two punch that crippled the band. Jukka is one of the best drummers on the planet, and while Kai is more than capable of keeping up, he doesn't have the presence and energy Jukka did.
@juha. No they are not, but when they perform, he is a player among the other. They are reacting to the performance, not just to the writing. I think all NW fans know, who the composer and songwriter is.
Nothing manufactured. No autotune. No backup dancers (meh...backup dancers...what a crock). No recorded tracks. Just real musicians playing real music that they wrote, arranged, composed, and recorded themselves.....along with a singer with a real, angelic voice who can actually sing. THAT is what real music is. Not some sh*tshow crap that's being put out there on the radio and TV in which they apparently receive awards for what amounts to is a teenybopper and girly-man popularity contest. THIS! THIS is what's real! Disregard with disdain the garbage that's being put out there by the media as "talent" and as "music." This video is what music is and is all about!
tbf, They do have some prerecorded sounds and orchestral pieces in their live performances, mostly because travelling with a full orchestra etc is way too much money.
@@TerranigmaQuintet True on that, and we can all see why, though I was referring to when the albums are being made, at which time the orchestral parts, etc. are performed by musicians (not necessarily band members) but arranged and mixed by the songwriter(s)...the band members themselves.
Greats from Germany .... you tell my words!! This is what music is about, and not that fucking shit they will tell us in shows called "talent" (my english is not so got, sry) :))
Keep something in mind, Alex: Floor Jansen did this song after singing for 70 MINUTES prior! Listen to Storytime and Romanticide from this same concert -- the vocal quality does not change. At all. Amazed yet? I am -- my mind was blown when I watched the whole concert.
Crazy part is, this song was the 12th one they played out of a 15 song 1.5 hour long set. Floor is an incredible vocalist and the band is no slouch either. This entire song is an absolute work of art. I never get tired of listening to it
@@Neon_Chameleon They have had two of the best - Tarja began the journey, Floor nailed it. Love both of them, but I only listen to Floor's versions of the songs anymore. She is just (IMHO) more pleasing to listen to.
I just want to add that I appreciate all they have done for music. Nightwish is fantastic, Tuomas is a composer with few peers; but there are many excellent bands who also deserve recognition - Embrace the new kids making their way today and support your local music scene :) Would we have Floor without After Forever? Epica without Mark? Where did Mark start? Arch Enemy today without Alissa Gluz-White? Jinjer started without Tatiana... We can go on and on... The small bands in the local bars begin what can turn into the Nightwish of tomorrow. Oh, and always - Floorgasm... Between Nightwish, Pink Floyd, Within Temptation, RUSH and a dive bar show in Brussels years ago... the best concerts I have ever seen live. The worst? Headline stadium by Genesis... then saw Genesis at a festival and it was great... Ahh... but always love a small bar venue with a local band trying to make it with original music... because it ALWAYS beats the crap pumped out of the studios...
Love the fact that Floor, when the Song is getting to the end, doesn’t just celebrate herself, she thanks the audience (11:40), and when the song is over, she reaches back to thank the band. She’s so humble and nice, it’s awesome!!
Yep camping next to techno playing dumb fucks was worth it after going to watch their performance. I am in wacken every year since 2012 and never regretted it
I would venture to say that the 2013 Wacken show and "live From Tampere" are probably two fo the best live performances by ANY band....Nightwish reinvented the meaning of "Metal Show".
Wow!! did you know that Tuomas actually watched this reaction himself!! damn thats kind of cool, he said so in a interview, that he watched a hip hop head react to ghost love score, and it was you...
True! Marco Hietala could very easily be a lead singer to any metal band, and actually performs guest vocals in many other projects, Ayreon for example, or Avantasia... Such a great voice!
I am a huge fan of Nightwish since the Wishmaster album (year 2000/2001) and for the last 18 years that reaction you got there listening to this song is the exact reaction I get every single fucking time. This band is just amazing. I don't have words to describe it. That's it
Welcome to the world of symphonic metal. Nightwish is the titan of the genre and they are who inspired Epica to form. So if you want more -- I suggest Romanticide, live at Wacken Open Air and The Greatest Show On Earth (Live at Tampere) :) This song is called Ghost Love Score but the fans have redubbed it "Ghost Love Floor" because the leader singer, Floor Jansen is considered one of the greatest female metal vocalists of all time. The last minute where she belts out the final note is what we call the "Floorgasm" because everyone that reacts to that video jaw drops. There's so much more to this band. We the fans are looking forward to more Nightwish Reactions. :) @AnnWaychoff should be here shortly with the bands background information for ya so I'll hand the mic over to her. :D
Thanks Adam! I think I am late to the show. There has been good write ups so far.I will read through and see what I can add. Thanks for the shout out. :-)
I recommended him Nightwish a very long time ago, but he never replied, and only now he did a video about Nightwish....like damn, took years for it. As well as Xandria too was recommended to him...no idea when someone else will mention it as well and he will pick it, since my vote wasn't picked. Not sure if he is even reading comments here, or just on twitter rarely...
Well, if you look on his daily uploads, he got between 20-50 requests every video.. Some are returning requests i give you that much, but tbh, between law school, his girlfriend, and making this video it's really alot he already do to give us great content.. For a (previous) non metal fan, i really like 99.99% his reactionbs (tbh, never a fan of bands like Cannibal Corpse and such) Don't throw hate brov.. Be happy for riding the journey with Alex.. Compared to a lot of other reaction channels (Galactic Criminal, LostinVegas and A&R, i honestly like Alex's most.. Others are pretty much already well versed in the metal genre, but Alex.. Alex is pure honesty and undiluted .. Be happy for being with him on this journey.. We welcome a new brother in our metal circle.. Let us show him that he truely has come home.
Romanticide LIVE at Wacken gotta happen because of that solo alone. Btw what really makes this Floorgasm the best imo is the little pitch change about passed halfway through it that just gives it that little extra epic feel to it. I discovered Nightwish about 12 years ago but only for the past year given them my full attention and like "studied" them to understand what makes them so good. And when Floor joined it has become my all time favorite band, across all genres, all things considered.
@@metal4360 Yes, everyone absolutely killed it in this song, but for some reason hearing and watching Jukka again makes me miss him. There IS a difference in style between Jukka and Kai. I love Kai, too....don't get me wrong. But Jukka has and "edge" to him that resonates with me on a deep level when he's playing. If that makes sense...…. Stay Safe and Sane. Stay Healthy and be Blessed, @REALISM and @METAL X FALILV X METALHEAD FOREVER....🕊 🌟💫💛
@SteveNL Yeah Tama can sound kind of flat sometimes. But I guess thats also a matter of mics and mixing. I just feel like a lot of tama artists have a really flat, dry live sound. When Frederik Ehmke first entered Blind Guardian I didn't like his live sound at all. I'm not sure if it has simply grown on me but I feel like it has more low-end now. Maybe Kai's sound will grow on me aswell.
Same here. What took so long? This performance is already a modern classic. And yes, I get giddy every time somebody reacts to it for the first time. I just love seeing their shock and awe.
nightwish truly sets the bar for all symphonic metal bands. Toumas's composition skills, Floor's amazing voice. Everyone has immense talent. And the songs actually have meaning.
I've been listening to Nightwish since about 2000, but boy have they gotten more and more powerful over the years. They went through a strange phase after Tarja, but they have really learned to master their sound.
I am not a metal fan, nevertheless still, this is one of the best live music performances that I have ever seen. The composer is a genius and the singer is out of this world. Really loved the reaction! 👍🤘💥
Finally! Floor is simply a perfect vocalist. Other Nightwish songs (live of course, you know now why): Poet And The Pendulum, Dark Chest Of Wonders, The Greatest Show On Earth, Phantom Of The Opera (this one with their first vocalist, Tarja. An absolutely beautiful vocal too) and Song Of Myself.
Oh, the moment of silence, the blank look on the face, the mouth open in wonderment when Floor starts to sing. All classic signs of a Floorgasm. Listen about a hundred more times before making your judgement. It only gets better.
lol perfectly put. This show is unbelievable. She absolutely kills it, the sound is awesome and the instruments were spot on. Special shout out to the drummer on this one, he's flawless, great feel.
@@stopwars451 I'm 54 years old and have been a fan since they started so, Yes , absolutely I've heard the original a thousand times. Floor rocks every time 😊😀

welcome to the world of real bands! real singers!!
Floor Jansen is one of the best vocalists today. It was the best option for '' Nightwish 'after Tarja and Anette left. Floor's vocal is exciting. I wish you success!
I agree i just got done watching it and it leaves me speechless with chills every time. Phantom of the opera live is amazing also. Basically anything by nightwish is so hauntingly beautiful to me.
Aaaah, I remember when Nightwish became my favourite band to :) I also love how every single Nightwish fan spent most of the video thinking how you're gonna be... floor'ed... when she hits that final note :) SO GOOD!
Remember the movie Weird Science where the two kids invented the perfect girl? I think Nightwish did that and got way more than they ever imagined. The voice. The stage presence and command of the crowd! And she always looks so damn happy when she is singing!
@@Pinky_Piie She did. Purely because she's capable of doing every style instead of just one. Tarja was awesome in her own songs but she doesn't hold a candle to Floor when it comes to multi style songs.
Floor is truly a once-in-a-generation vocalist. I tried so hard so many times to like Nightwish before. I hated not liking something that seemingly everyone else had an adoration for. I have been a Floor fan for YEARS, ever since, what, 2003 or so. But it's so nice to see them together and they are perfect!
@@b0sanac Exactly! Tarja is glorious in opera vocals, but Floor can come close in those, belt out angry metal vocals, and give poppy bits in between. It's like comparing a master in a single form of swordsmanship to someone whose mastered several to a Possibly somewhat lesser extent.
Never thought i'd like another performance of ghost love score as much as Tarja in end of an era, that first long note from Floor convinced me otherwise, fucking hell 0_0
@ mangalover0149 Sadly it's quite common from where I am. The word metal is often deem as something atrocious, loud and incoherent with screams and whatnot. People are very judgemental about things they aren't familiar with. Sure everyone have their own preference is music but metal is often smeared with bad publicity just like MSG (flavor enhancer) was and still is.
Thats just a strange thing to say. Its usually referred to like jazz, where it is obviously difficult to play at that speed and energy level. Just like jazz is difficult....for obvious reasons lol so is metal.
O.k, I know I'm late to the Nighwish party, but I'm 64 and a I'm basically a classic rock guy.....This is on a whole different level. I can't get enough of Floor and the Band......The energy level at Wacken is completely off the charts.....and yet the Band looks so comfortable playing and it looks like they're having fun. (imagine that)....Alex, need to react to "Storytime".......
Just wanted to let you know Alex that this reaction video is what introduced me to Nightwish. So thank you bro. Not sure I ever would have heard them otherwise.
These guys are one of my favorite bands of all time, simply due to the way they seem to have perfected the art of blending high energy that makes you want to headbang, with a more pulled back, almost mystical feel that you get in their slower moments.
Now that you've been introduced to Nightwish, it's time to check out The Poet and the Pendulum live from Wembley, for more Floor awesomeness, the Phantom of the Opera for the classical dramatic vibe Tarja (their first lead singer) brought, and the studio version of Imaginaerum or Dark Passion Play albums with Anette, because sadly live versions with her are not with good sound quality(There was no live DVD recorded with her).
Your comment makes me so happy. I'm glad so many people are still getting to discover and fall in love with this song. I was introduced to it many years ago, it has been my favorite song since I heard it with the original singer Tarja. I love Floor's version here even better.
Well, I have told you that Finnish metal is great. Lets do more! Stratovarius, Sonata Arctica, Lordi, Children of Bodom, Amorphis, Apocalyptica and so many other great bands!
I have been listening to Nightwish since 2002, and I can honestly say this song brings tears to my eyes every single time I listen to it, it's just that good.
Floor Jansen’s voice is the closest human beings get to divinity. Your face at 11:32 is the reason we recommended this particular video. What you just experienced there is known scientifically as a “Floorgasm” and your life will never be the same. Now try anything else from this show or branch and listen to their newer stuff like The Greatest Show On Earth or Dead Boy’s Poem with Tarja (their first singer). Nightwish’s music (including most of the orchestral parts) is mostly by the guy on keyboards, Tuomas, who writes albums as if he was writing the score for some movie where the most epic shit of all time happens. Their stuff is 100% Majestic As Fuck™️
sugoruyo I’d have to disagree on the divinity part. Excellent vocalist no doubt, but symphonic metal is not really my cup of tea. There are plenty of metal vocalists who sound like divinity, just the type of divinity that comes with fire and brimstone.
Preach!! I'm mostly into brutal and technical death metal, like Aborted, Benighted, Cytotoxin, stuff like that, but this song man... I get teary eyes every damn time and it always takes me back... Back to this show where I was in the crowd, not knowing Nightwish at all, but everyone was going from my camp, so I went as well. Did not disappoint!
Goodness....where have they been....and why am I just hearing their music...it is 2020...and I listen to music quite a bit...and I no clue how amazing they are!!! MIND BLOWN! Damn...I thought Amy Lee had an amazing voice...but this gal is freaking unbelievable!!
I was looking for a comment about Amy Lee. I was like what the!? There is another woman in a band that sounds just like Amy Lee! Love it gonna have to listen to more of this band I'm hooked now lol
Amy is a Rock singer the delves into opera, Floor is opera singer that delves into rock! Comparison unfair< I'll take Amy every time and have seen EV MULTIPLE TIMES. I haven't seen NW Both are great but it's really like comparing apples and oranges! You'd like one's music over the other's! That being said, there is a reason why I've seen Ev multiple times!
Wake up, dead Boy Enter adventureland Tricksters, magicians will show you all that’s real Careless jugglers, snakecharmers by your trail Magic of a moment Abracadabra!
Here there are two others great Nightwish songs over ten minutes long: -"The Poet and The Pendulum" -"The Greatest Show on Earth". I think you'll like them!
@@beeftractor875 Haha, that's OK! Floorgasm: When you are so utterly stunned and amazed by Floor's (the lead singer) vocals that you have "an orgasm". Basically, when you first experience the extreme range of her vocals :)
I'm listening to this song every day since I discorvered they have Floor as a singer like a week ago. Can't stop watching this performance. Look how much Floor is smiling during the whole song and even concert. She's putting all her love into this. So amazing. Brought me back to Nightwish after 12 years.
well this was sort of her baptism. Seeing how Anette was hated by almost everyone she knew she was in a tough spot but by the time this came up on the setlist back at that year's Wacken she already knew she had the ENTIRE festival by the balls and knew that if they enjoyed her performance so far this would melt everybody's mind - and it did. I was in That crowd and somewhere in the middle of this song I just stood there completely frozen coz I felt like I was on some other planet. Most surreal moment I ever had on a concert
I kind of lost interest in Nightwish and stopped paying attention when Tarja got replaced by Anette. She's got a good voice, but it didn't fit the music that well. Wasn't even aware they changed vocalist again until pretty recently. This was the first song I saw with Floor on the vocals. It's unreal. Hands down one of the most powerfull, epic and outstanding live performances I have seen, the entire band is on point and Floor is a force of nature.
Still Nightwish without Tarja is not the same anymore. Floor is a stage singer, Tarja is an opera singer. I liked Nightwish for opera singing. Floor is great, just not my kind of Nightwish.
Yeah, Anette is a great singer in her element, but she was most certainly not what Nightwish needed if they wanted to keep playing their stuff from when they had Tarja. I saw them live a few months after they released Dark Passion Play and Anette killed every song off that album, but then they tried to play a couple of their older songs... it was bad. I like Anette as a singer, but they really shouldn't have had her in Nightwish, she just doesn't fit the style, it was definitely trying to fit a square peg into a round hole.
You probably won't see this among the other song requests, but (AFTER REACTING TO PHANTOM OF THE OPERA LIVE) you should check out "High Hopes (Live) - End of An Era" by Nightwish. It's a cover song, not an original, but if you know the original Pink Floyd song, it's a good way for you to see the instrumentation and style of Symphonic Metal and how their musical interpretation of that song gave way to something very different but so incredibly beautiful too! Plus, it'll show you some of Marco's vocals (the bassist).
expectopatronum18 10000% agree! Marco is one of my favourite singer and this 2 song what you just said are the best from End of An Era. Thanks! And yes... Alex, please react on the live version if you decide to do once ;)
"High Hopes" is Pink Floyd's song so it will be better to react to original version because original version is the best version in the whole Universe (with all respect for Nightwish)!
when you listen to Floor that is pretty much standardly garanteed. ;) (I think there is a standard disclaimer telling you not to watch Floor video's if you are allergic to goosebumps) :)
@@jh4wktowmissile16 I admit that headbanging is difficult for me..i can do it only for a few seconds...not to mention singing...i have terrible voice!!! But...i do it no matter what!!!
Originally Floor was sent by Allfather Odhinn to Midgard to gather the souls of fallen warriors to Valhalla, but she got distracted and joined a series of bands. However, Floor still gathers souls by her grace, beauty and the sheer power of her vocals. We give thanks for her at our Blots regularly and hope that Odhinn won't notice that she has never returned to Asgard. ALL HAIL THE VALKYRIE GODDESS!!!
Haha! One of the best reactions so far. This is absolute jaw dropper to people who have never heard Nightwish before! 11:17 Floorgasm 🤘😆 Makes you think "I wish I could've been there... partying and feeling that awesome atmosphere!" Nightwish music is so fricking good! Those melodies, tempo and key changes, stories and emotions... and absolute pro musicians... Ooh! My absolute favorite band in metal genre. You will have so great and unforgettable journey ahead when listening more Nightwish. They have had three different female lead vocalists, all very good but different styles: Tarja Turunen (1996-2005), Anette Olzon (2007-2012) and Floor Jansen (2013- ). Also the bass player, Marco Hietala, sings some solos and do the backing-/side vocals. Tuomas Holopainen (keyboardist) writes almost all lyrics and melodies (maybe 90%), but Marco and Emppu (guitarist) writes some too. Actually Floor Jansen is quite good song writer too, but she hasn't wrote any to Nightwish yet. She wrote songs in her previous bands, After Forever and ReVamp. Here's some suggestions to listen & react in your following videos: Poet and the Pendulum, LIVE at Wembley 2016 (14 minutes) ua-cam.com/video/gbn9GczYBkw/v-deo.html Song of Myself, LIVE at Wacken Open Air 2013 (7 minutes) ua-cam.com/video/lQu5QjidHWg/v-deo.html Greatest Show On Earth, LIVE at Tampere 2015 (21 minutes) ua-cam.com/video/aTAaEHiGjvU/v-deo.html
Having been to Wacken Open Air 9 times, that year this video was recorded was by far the best year in my opinion. The whole nightwish set was amazing, Alex reaction to the video was identical to how we felt in the crowd. Though more intensified by just being there. The other bands playing just added to the awesomeness to the 4 days of music - amorphis, deep purple, faun, haggard, ihsahn, motorhead, powerwolf, rammstein, sabaton, tristania to name a few.
@@synaesthesia2010 Tarja was definitely their best vocalist, because she has a very unique tone of voice and specific technique in singing metal. Having said that, it should be acknowledged that Floor is probably the best succession of Tarja that they could have ever found. I thought that I would never give them a second chance after Tarja left, but I am definitely giving them a second chance with Floor.
I dont want to take anything from tarja (im talking to the folks that said she was rhe best) but for all the years ive watched nightwish videos...spanning all three era's...not even tarja recorded a more well done concert performance than nightwish at wacken 2013...it is literally one of my favorites of all time of every band i listened to (hint thats a LOT).
@Vesa Jyrkinen she is different than floor, tarja was really good but she was more the classic soprano. if you were a fan at that time i can really understand that you miss her. but its also good that nightwish developes...
Funny thing, You see Floor Jansen speak and she's the sweet, humble girl next door. Put her on stage and she's a Valkyrie.
❤️❤️ You nailed it.
We are blessed to have a Valkyrie in our lives!!!
Shieldmaiden. Valkyries are spirits.
@@sylarkane8883 Pretty sure ''Valkyrie'' is apt. No mere mortal posesses that kind of voice.

Floor Jansen, Amy Lee, David Draiman... the list goes on, but not for long. All really humble, down to eath peolpe who, given a microphone and a stage can unleash so much energy and talent that it's hard to really fathom just how amazing they truly are.
Let's all take a moment to thank Tuomas for writing Nightwish's music. The soul of a composer.
Beautiful lyrics and powerful music
He is that type of person, that would bring me to (happy)tears if I would have the honor to meet him in person just by saying 'Hello' to me. He is a god of songwriting and composing!
Liara666 He is truly amazing, the whole band is, tbh. A very humble soul. I had the honor of meeting him and some other band members after a concert a few years ago and when I told him what his music meant to me, he actually blushed!
And lets not forget this was a live performance... which sometimes is even better than the cd version.
yeah, even when he stagnates a bit he still write tremendously well. Even his worse is amazing.
I've seen this performance probably 50 times now, never gets old.
Never
I was sooo excited to find out that this concert is on DVD!
Rookie numbers
Only 50 times?
Pfff, amateur...
Juist kidding😂😂
"I've seen this performance probably 50 times now, never gets old."
Same here.
I love seeing people hear this song for the first time
So does the replacement eyeball industry.
A do I..still doing it
First Floorgasm, fantastic! 🔥🔥
Right, I remember felling in love with this song with Tarja
Same, it makes me so happy when their balls drop right off to the majestic floor

1) Sudden loss of words in the midst of a sentence
2) Jaw dropping
3) Eye widening
4) Goosebumps and chills
5) Increased heart rate
6) Tears start flowing
7) A flow of words usually used in this way during certain other situations (OMG, WOW, incredible, soo gooood etc)
8) Heavy breathing
9) Throwing random shit around
10) Sinking back in the chair in complete surrender when Floor finishes her last note
11) The audience is completely exhausted but happy, the mating process is complete

Wacken 2013 were the best days of my life. Was more or less there for Motöhead but fuck yeah, i fell in love with Nightwish and mainly the goddess back then.
I would love to go to another concert again. I've only ever been to 2 in my whole life. Those being Dream Theater and Disturbed.
@@KillaCheeto56 I have seen Nightwish 4 times, once with Tarja (and that was back in 2000), once with Anette and twice with Floor.
It's actually really cool)
Floor later joined the band full time (along with Troy on the pipes) after the tour was over and the band saw so much success and hype from the fans.
Yes i agree alex needs to see this comment
i feel like anette joining was one of the best things that could happen to nightwish.
@Alex Hefner
My money says Floor lured sailors to their death in a past life. Amazing singer.

@@Red-Brick-Dream awww 💜💜💜 that's how I reacted when I found After Forever (her first band)
Everyone showed up for the Floorgasm, but let's not forget Jukka. Dude was freaking amazing.
Losing Jukka and then Marko is a one-two punch that crippled the band. Jukka is one of the best drummers on the planet, and while Kai is more than capable of keeping up, he doesn't have the presence and energy Jukka did.
I'll never forget his badass vegetarian pirate presence
Floor knows this. Therefore at the end of the song she pointed towards him.
People tend to forget the mastermind doing all the composing and directing the show. Tuomas Holopainen behind the keyboards!
Tuomas Holopainen is to keyboard what a gunner is to a Gatling Gun!

Why yes! Nightwish does that to people!
Yes they do.

One of the scary things about Nightwish is that it's arguable even whether she's the best lead singer Nightwish have had.
Epica is better than Nightwish now 😁
Romanticide LIVE at Wacken gotta happen because of that solo alone. Btw what really makes this Floorgasm the best imo is the little pitch change about passed halfway through it that just gives it that little extra epic feel to it. i never got tired of this perfomance! floor is such a monster in stage... love her
Floor Jansen’s voice is the closest human beings get to divinity.
Well said! I do agree. :-)
Tarja is better on this song!
Definitely Dead Boy's Poem
PLEASE, REACT TO NIGHTWISH - THE POET AND THE PENDULLUM WEMBLEY VERSION!!!
You mean Wembley. They didn't perform Poet at Wacken in 2013.
@@taup184 Yeah, thanks!
@@michaelmurray5748 so if I’m not mistaken, you are implying that Amy Lee is better than Floor Jansen. Come on!

I couldn't get to sleep after hearing that the first time. It just kept going around and around and around...
Old Legends say, that Floor's voice can freeze water and melt butter at the same time.
and her eyes can ignite thermite and see through wooden doors
I heard legend has it that when she first sang Chuck Norris was born..... all hail the queen of the Valkyries
This is the first time I've heard the the song and her final note literally brought me to tears what the fuck lol!!!!!
I've heard it dozens of times and every time that last note brought me into tears....
Here there are two others great Nightwish songs over ten minutes long:
-"The Poet and The Pendulum"
-"The Greatest Show on Earth".
I think you'll like them!
Agree, I loved The Greatest Show on Earth
11:18 Floorgasm incoming, and he doesn't even suspect it xD
11:27 impact!
I was watching his face when the incoming Floorgasm was about to happen
Mohna Zaidi I’m kinda now getting into metal and wtf is floorgasm
@@beeftractor875 Haha, that's OK!
Floorgasm: When you are so utterly stunned and amazed by Floor's (the lead singer) vocals that you have "an orgasm". Basically, when you first experience the extreme range of her vocals :)
Mohna Zaidi ooohhhh makes sense lol thanks! Metal is the only thing getting me through middle school now😭
Exactly! 😂
Floor is the VERY BEST singer in the WORLD. Who agrees?
I definitely agree!!!
Floor is very very good--but Amy Lee.
@carlotta4th I love Amy Lee to pieces, but Floor is something else❤
Floor is the best female singer. Hands down
@@carlotta4thcorrect. It's always Amy Lee.
Same here, watched it maybe 467321 times so far.
Watch the whole concert and you will see the whole band smiling which had been lost with Annette
She isnt bad but Tarja was the best
@@drloei2691 tarja is evil bitch plus she can't come even close to this
I kind of lost interest in Nightwish and stopped paying attention when Tarja got replaced by Anette. She's got a good voice, but it didn't fit the music that well. Wasn't even aware they changed vocalist again until pretty recently. This was the first song I saw with Floor on the vocals. It's unreal. Hands down one of the most powerfull, epic and outstanding live performances I have seen, the entire band is on point and Floor is a force of nature.
same here, Anette was *meh*, but Floor and Tuomas really made a miracle!
Still Nightwish without Tarja is not the same anymore. Floor is a stage singer, Tarja is an opera singer. I liked Nightwish for opera singing. Floor is great, just not my kind of Nightwish.
@@vanhalen303 ua-cam.com/video/Od_qcbw3f5Q/v-deo.html She is a far better opera singer than Tarja...
@@vagtheo I never said she couldn't opera sing. But a) she mostly sings ordinary and b) Tarja has a much stronger opera voice.
I have watched this reaction countless times! I get so emotional every single time i see it! Thank you Alex! And by the way, I was at that concert!😁
My jaw just dropped, I've never heard them before! Oh my God!!
Find their version of Phantom of the Opera with Tarja
Listen to Tarja singing this with the band.
Like 11:28 ?
Fck tarja she is evil b....
@@Phoenix56301 forget her, floor is so much better
Yes, I love that version. Marco absolutely kills it on the vocals on that song.
I actually didn't think too many people liked High Hopes. It's a beautiful, nostalgic song that is also somewhat sad. It's a wonderful ride!
Marco is so freaking good ❤️
"High Hopes" is Pink Floyd's song so it will be better to react to original version because original version is the best version in the whole Universe (with all respect for Nightwish)!
Is it normal that EVERY SINGLE TIME (and i've lost count on how many times i've heard it) i hear this song, i get goosebumps?!?!?!
Panagiotis Barnasas same. I get a shiver down my spine that I can feel every time.
@@Aretemi yeah! That's exactly what i mean!
when you listen to Floor that is pretty much standardly garanteed. ;) (I think there is a standard disclaimer telling you not to watch Floor video's if you are allergic to goosebumps) :)
I am the only one who sings and headbangs at the time?
@@jh4wktowmissile16 I admit that headbanging is difficult for me..i can do it only for a few seconds...not to mention singing...i have terrible voice!!! But...i do it no matter what!!!
Originally Floor was sent by Allfather Odhinn to Midgard to gather the souls of fallen warriors to Valhalla, but she
got distracted and joined a series of bands. However, Floor still gathers souls by her grace, beauty and the sheer power
of her vocals.
We give thanks for her at our Blots regularly and hope that Odhinn won't notice that she has never returned to Asgard.
ALL HAIL THE VALKYRIE GODDESS!!!
My favourite Nightwish song, regardless of who's doing the singing. Floor and Tarja are both beyond amazing.
Next up: Nightwish - The Poet And The Pendulum live Wembley

Her name is Floor Jansen...
Her performance will absolutely FLOOR you.
I am Floored.
I also consider me a floorist now
Haha! One of the best reactions so far. This is absolute jaw dropper to people who have never heard Nightwish before! 11:17 Floorgasm 🤘😆 Makes you think "I wish I could've been there... partying and feeling that awesome atmosphere!"
Nightwish music is so fricking good!
Here's some suggestions to listen & react in your following videos:
Poet and the Pendulum, LIVE at Wembley 2016 (14 minutes) ua-cam.com/video/gbn9GczYBkw/v-deo.html
Song of Myself, LIVE at Wacken Open Air 2013 (7 minutes) ua-cam.com/video/lQu5QjidHWg/v-deo.html
Greatest Show On Earth, LIVE at Tampere 2015 (21 minutes) ua-cam.com/video/aTAaEHiGjvU/v-deo.html
Definitely 3 of the best videos for Alex to watch next
There is only one other song that can probably match this one - "Nightwish - Ever Dream" (original version and not some concert)
I was caught off guard just like him!
Damned right... It is one of my greatest regrets that I never had a chance to go to a Nightwish Concert before Tarja left.
Floor Jansen is a 6'1" soprano who likes wearing a bit of heel... I mean, perfect for badass epic metal.
She 10/10 was a siren in her past life.

i've been a fan since 2007, post Tarja, she was their best singer, her opratic vocals defined the band's sound
@@synaesthesia2010 Tarja was the best Singer but a shitty person. Floor is what Nightwish needet.

Tarja Turunen. That’s who made Nightwish famous. True goddess of metal. Just go back and listen to The Riddler and the whole Oceanborn
