Everyone is a metalhead, they just don't know it yet
I thought I didn't like it until I started listening to Metalica now I can't let metal leave my favorite genres.
philbertmill2 haha so true
When I was growing up metal = going to hell. And we got a used computer with 18,000 songs on it.
I made peace with me going to hell after discovering Metallica and MM and Corrosion of Conformity......
That was probably like sixth grade. That was a while ago.
Aleister Black oh yah. I don’t believe in it anymore. But I was raised extremely religious.
It’s way more fun to listen to without the secrecy and guilt. XD
philbertmill2 I don’t know my friend said he liked limp bizkit better than Metallica
Him: **pauses the guitar solo**
wait, that's illegal
Sajaaa it most definitely is
Sajaaa I mean it is a minute long so there would probably be a pause there but that’s still no excuse
I was headbanging so when he stopped the song it scared the living shit out of me. I almost threw my phone .

Why is it so satisfying for me watching people listen to Metallica and love it
Because you can relive your first time listening to Metallica through them.
@@niklaseriksson7396 makes u wish you had’ve filmed yourself hearing it for the first time too doesn’t it? 🤪
For me it's watching people first experience Stevie Ray Vaughn. I never get enough of watching people see their life suddenly fill up in a previously empty space.
It's because they realise what they've been missing all these years.
It validates how good you already know they are.
Metal Lyrics : “drugs will kill you”
What non metal heads hear : “kill you”
Also non metal heads : “that shits satanic wtf”

Nick Clutterbuck 3 thing actually. dont do headshaking instead headbanging
He will pause the Metallica before you’re done.
calm down its just metallica
Hip Hop Head: pauses guitar solo
Everybody in the universe: you done messed up
Darn tootin!
You done incurred my wrath!
At my place everyone knows my rules. As far as music playing they know there are a handful of bands/artists that you DO NOT 1) Turn volume down 2) Pause or stop during a song. With the possible exception of someone dying before the song concludes. Of course Metallica is one of those bands. There would have been a physical altercation (!!WHACK!! "Watthfuc dude????) and banishment for either a period of time or until the end of time. There is some music that has become a part of you to the point it is almost a gut punch if a song is interrupted. And yes, I am one of those people that even after I arrive home or anywhere else I will sit in my car to finish listening to a song by certain bands/artists. I'll have it on my main streaming playlist, on my mp player, and even on cd and still wait till the end. It may be crazy, but if I couldn't listen music anymore for some reason I don't know how long I would last. Through the best times and worst times of your entire life the music has always been there for you. It needs to be treated with respect. And now I am done with my philosophical exposition. 🤪🤘
@Boruch ArnoldHell yeah! Brothers and sisters of the Metal Nation!
That's the truth, it seems like every time I am in my care listening to no more tears and I get to the solo, phone call EVERY TIME BRO! Now I just put my phone on do not disturb, as that is my fav solo and I won't have it ruined anymore!
Me in 1983: "I've never heard a Metallica song. Metallica?? What a stupid name for a band."

The year was 1986. I was 16 and only listened to rap and hip_hop. My best friend was a metal head and listened to Iron Maiden, Ozzy, etc and I was forced to listened to it because he had a car and I didn't. I hated it! One day he came to pick me up and he pulls out this cassette tape, looks at me and says to me "Wait til you hear this!" For the 1st time I gave it metal a honest listen. I was immediately transformed into a Metallica fan. Almost 35 years later im still a fan. Seeing you react to this vid was almost like re-living that day when a light bulb went off in my head. Oh man first time hearing Metallica?!?!?! Wish I could get that moment back!!!!
Flint so true
first time hearing One
I honestly cannot remember a time in which I didn’t know what Metallica sounded like, considering I was raised by one of the biggest Metallica fans I ever knew
Ah the first time hearing Metallica is a special time in a Metalhead's life.
I mean I had heard enter sandman and nothing else matters, but Master of Puppets got me into metal and I’m getting into a lot of thrash
That transition from rage to melodic back to rage.
This song plays to the timeline of the progression of the drug addiction. The rage before the fix in the beginning, then the euphoric high and calmness in the bridge, just before the storm when the drug takes hole, and then the rage comes back to run your life again at the end of the song.... that was the genius behind this song. They didn't just write lyrics to meet the feelings behind the music. They wrote the music to express the entire cycle in it's entirety
I loved seeing Alex with his mouth hanging open, going “Oh my God” Frickin priceless. Metallica is dope ass shit. Word.
The reason your vids are popular is because you're giving the reaction we hope we get from our friends when we let them listen to a kick-ass metal song, but unfortunately never get :D
Was that a Metallica reference lol
Sad But True
They all listin to rap now :(
My friends unfortunately hear this "Nightcore" which is just garbage. they do not understand the "nightcore" Steals from others and try to "artificially" improve it.
I try to tell them the truth and their excuses are "that's my opinion".
they do not want to acknowledge the truth.
such a shame,
they do not know what they miss.
True
This song simulates the torture a drug addict goes through... Pain and anguish as his "Master" beckons him... The melodic part in the middle is the man giving in to his master and experiencing the brief euphoria provided by the high... but all too soon the pain and anguish return as the master comes calling back.... Epic..........
Yep just from the music you can visualize it
And in the end, death by overdose, the master gives its last laugh. Just perfect!
honestly i never truly realized how well written this song is. Such a masterpiece

For people talking about him pausing, for a lot of these songs, you HAVE to pause or your video will get hit with a copyright strike.
So, besides getting the reaction, it also allows him to keep the video up.

@@Heyoo414 I agree
Best comment indeed, for me it was 'Be all, end all' - but my life was not the same after hearing it in '88 (Germany), I entered one of the greatest subcultures, with lifelong friends, recruited my girlfriends and finally wife from there (and from goths, nice girls, just smelled weird), now 46 year long haired father of two, still drumming along. Not wanting to draw a parallel tho this 'thug life' stuff, if you found metal or if it finds you, but the thing is that every metalhead I know has his/her story to tell, you don't end up with us accidentally, it all makes sense, it is a huge therapy after all. I owe metal so much that I could never possibly pay back, so I kinda feel sorry for the guy in the video, Alex, you've been missing out... big time.

I chose this song to analyse in a year 10 english class, purely on the basis that is was 9 minutes long and my teacher hated metal and I knew it was going to piss him off. I heard an audible sigh when I announced it.
No regrets.
I actually got iron maidens ryme of the ancient Mariner to be a short lived official part of the English curriculum in school because I introduced it to a teacher who had no idea about what metal actually was and she wound up loving it because of how well it helped translate the poem for people in class.

This album went 6x platinum with virtually no radio play in its day...Metal of this magnitude was not a commercial friendly genre til years later...
10x ? I thought it got 6x
10x ? I thought it got 6x
And I think that's what this guy and what most of today's kids don't grasp. I was onto Kill 'Em All when it came out (I was in high school so it was right in the teen boy sweet spot for that kind of music) but it was Ride the Lightning that was the real bomb. I couldn't play that album enough back in the day and everyone I knew was just blown away by the sound. Metallica, with that album, took over heavy metal music...and, like you said, they did it with no assistance whatsoever from traditional music mass media. Back in those days it was word of mouth and some late night, heavy metal show on the radio. No internet, no Limewire yet, very little airplay and only some spotty coverage on MTV. The groups that rose to the top, like Metallica, did so without a pushed media blitz/agenda like they do today. They played instruments. They sang without autotune. True musical talent on display done, oftentimes, without any expectation of vast fame and fortune that top 40 acts enjoyed.
Actual musical talent. And if this guy liked what he heard on its own merits, imagine how much more impressed he'd be if he was aware of the environment that that album arose from.
@@craig328 but the sad thing is , metal bands barely even get platinum albums. Metallica , iron maiden , black sabbath , judas priest , ozzy osbourne , dio , megadeth , pantera are the only real metal bands that have platinum albums. And it's shocking that the number of the bands is only 8.

yeah, one is manditory
Du reichst so gut is great song though :)
Hate me, but I think Blackened is better
George Soros indeed
Gama boi blackened is great but different compared to one
James Hetfield was 22 when they wrote this song... I always thought it was funny to look at Beiber when he was 22 compared to how rough Hetfield was. Different times man...different times.
Murky Lurks not many can see themselves with beethoven at 22
Murky Lurks Yep. James has chunks of Bieber in his stool. 😎
+MontagZoso: James killed and ate Justin Bieber? Metal!
damn rights..different times bro
That makes for an awful comparison D:
I felt the same way back in 1987 when I first heard this song.
I couldn't stop listening to the entire tape.
Truly the best Metallica ever was.
RIP Burton
Metallica is my absolute favorite band! Since 1986🤘🤘🤘😄
Now you know how I felt when I heard this song for the first time like 20 years ago.. 🤘 Welcome to the family dude!
simply incredible
8:03 Birth of a Metallica fan
Ilaughed so hard when Isaw this comment!!!!!!!
GIVE... BIRTH!
@@Josko19 hahahaha me too
Yeah me too 😂😂😂i remember when i heard how fast it was for the first time ever
@@famousfraank the real birth happened @ 9:01
Wonderful analysis of this great MASTER piece! During the fast guitar solo, Kirk Hammett accidently pulls the high E string off of the fretboard, it became a classic thing that guitarists tried to emulate ! One of the first songs i learned when i was 13 back in 1987! Still playing today! Cheers and Rawk on!
Heard them 30 ish years ago and it changed my music life. Went to many of their concerts and they never let you down. True rock stars
I really enjoyed watching this guy's reaction.
It isn't every day that ya get to watch a grown man discover real music for the first time.
Thank you for sharing this moment with us all. And keep rockin!
As a Metallica fan, this is the reaction I expect when someone discovers how great they are.
**they where.
have u ever heard suicide and redemption it's awesome
i expect people to pick up a gun to blow their own brains out for having wasted so much of their life NOT listening to TALLICA!!
Nopez20 I grew up on Metallica and am a big fan. But explain what happened after the black album? They weren't the same their older albums are master pieces. Now they should just not make music anymore.
Music and Musicians evolve/grow. Metallica made alot of good songs on both sides of The Black Album, they lost a dear friend and a brother in Cliff Burton, and it changed them to have Jason in their band, if you actually go and watch the movie somekind of monster, you'll see what Metallica is all about.
Metallica made masterpieces like Unforgiven 2, Fuel , The Memory Remains, Hero of the day, The Unnamed feeling, all nightmare long and more. I didn't like Garage inc for a long time and refered to it as Garbage inc, but man i gotta say i really started appreciating some of the songs from that aswell, although they're cover songs, Whisky in the jar and Merciful fate are simply fantastic. my absolute favorite songs as in my top 10 would also feature songs like Master of puppets, Ride the lightning, Nothing else matters, Fade to black and seek and destroy, but it would sure as hell also feature The memory remains and fuel at the very least.
And let's not forget the S&M Album, probably the most artistic and phenomenonal album ever made, if you don't like it you're a comunist bastard who hates America and the western world. =D
I've been subbed to your channel for 4 years now, ever since I saw this video for the first time. I love every aspect of re-expiriencing hearing my favorite songs for the first time again, and your channel is the closest thing that gets me to this feeling :D It's awesome! Cheers!
