React to Versus Me, please! I've been suggesting them for more than a year now, and they just recently dropped a new single titled "Heavy Breathing" that I know you'll love! 🤘
I tried asking in chat but I guess it was going a million miles a minute and flew by. Alex come say hi in the Nightwish Reactions discord, we hit 500 members recently in just a few months, we have a number of fellow UA-camrs who come by and the band themselves even know about us! Come on by discord.gg/NrTUWyS
Hey Alex, you're welcome. Keep up the good work. And it's great you won't be deserting us after you pass the bar. I believe that there is ZERO chance of you NOT passing the bar. I'm sure you put just as much energy, and thought into your intellectual pursuits, as that which you put into these videos! You're a shoe in as far as passing the bar is concerned. Having said that, I'm a militant female front"man" advocate. And just to show that I do know someone other than Amy Lee, I am also getting into Lzzy Hale, and Halestorm. Oh, if you didn't know this Lzzy plays the piano as well as guitar, and she plays them well as well. There is also a video of Lzzy, and Amy Lee doing a live duet while Lzzy plays along on the piano. The sound quality isn't very good, but you can still get the idea.
This is one of the biggest masterpieces in the history of metal. Nothing compares to it. It transcends the idea of music. And the show is brutal. The world is not prepared for this kind of art.
Many of us was waiting for this moment. He did GLS and The Poet and The Pendulum, we were waiting for more Nightwish reactions. The waiting was worthy.
This Night was so Flawless. My best Nightwish show, I've ever been. ( Now 20 allready done 😊) Floor's parents where there too, She was kind of extra emotional. Whole evening WAS MAGICAL❤. WE WERE HERE!
I am 52 yrs old and I have never heard or experienced a band like this. I literally could not stop watch this video. I have goosebumps all over. To say I freaking love this song is a understatement. 🤟🤟😱😱👍👍👍
The music the US music industry has denied us over the years with their arrogant attitude about what they think people want to hear is infuriating and heartbreaking
@@deed5811 Can't you find your own music? You are here, after all :) Europe accepts Nightwish as normal, must be because they are neighbours! US TV, and other media are over-ruled, when there is Vevo and UA-cam, ignoring international barriers (such as DVD Region blocking). It is up to us to search for what we want, not be force fed someone elses idea of what we should have (because they profit from that).
Finland is excluded in Norse Mythology. they were more Rus. Sweden, Denmark and Norway is Norse. But I see how they would fit perfectly with their temper. :)
In case someone hasn't already said this: The album (Endless Forms Most Beautiful, EFMB) from which this song comes from is about evolution & biology. The song title is taken from a 2009 book by evolutionary biologist and atheist writer Richard Dawkins, concerning the evidence for biological evolution. The song basically tells the story of evolution, as reflected in the use of instruments, melodies and dramatic bits. The spoken words were also done by Richard Dawkins, and the last spoken part is from Charles Darwins's The origin of Species (if im not mistaken). This is also THE longest Nightwish song, to date. P.s: The chorus line "we were here" was used as the tagline during the world tour for the album. I think everyone who went to their concerts felt a sense of togetherness with each other as fans, and with the band.
Tampere 2015 is best Nightwish, I've ever been. 2nd one is The Last one with Tarja 2005 Harwall Arena. 3rd Nightwish Cruice from Turku. Next gig is going to be nr:21. My Black Jack with Nightwish. ❤. Started Live shows 1983, With Iron Maiden. Only One gig goes Beyond NW Tampere. Metallica Justice For All Tour 15.10.1988 Ice Hall Helsinki. Now Nightwish IS THE BEST Live band in Whole World. Without a doubt. Every time, every place. Thay are at their best. On or Off stage, We The Family take care. That's why I can sey to be a PROUD member of Our Edema Ruh. 💟
So true! I've seen them in Paris for their Decades tour last year (also, best birthday present everrrrr), and I still cannot believe I was there. It was not to the level of this show with all the fireworks, but their light show and everything was so well thought out and immersive (also, Floor with her Wacken costume was banging, just saying - my fiancé found it funny I would talk on and on about how sexy Floor was during the concert, knowing as I never talk about other women like that lol) and the music.... Each song was an experience in itself and made me fall in love with the band all over again.
I've gotta say, there's nothing like being in the crowd at a Nightwish concert during that "We were here" part, with the entire venue screaming it all at once.
Indeed!!! The show I was at, GSOE was such an amazing experience to hear literally everyone in the venue singing along. It was amazing energy, almost like everyone was gearing up to sing along "WE WERE HERE!". INCREDIBLE.
I always tear up when Floor sings "we were here". Those are the most primal and beautiful lyrics. They are the cry of every being from the beginning of time to now.
My wife and I at the age of 64 where privileged to see this performance in St Louis Missouri in March of 2018. Unfortunately it was indoors so it was no where as spectacular including the fireworks and stage fireworks. We were at the "meet and greet" and I was able to obtain first row seats and am so glad I did. NIGHT WISH is the best symphonic metal band in the world! Floor Jensen is THE BEST! AND REMEMBER...WE WERE HERE! They where the one band in my LIFETIME that gave me the Frisson effect over and over and over. So needless to say at the young age of 62 I became a fan to say the least.
Marcus Reynolds - I live in Columbia, grew up in St. Charles, and I'm 55 years old. I found out about Nightwish and Floor Jansen just a few days ago. Since then, I can't get enough of Floor; I gotta start my day with "Ghost Love Score" from here on out. I wish to God I would've known about this band prior to March of 2018, because I would've been at their St. Louis concert LIKE NOBODY'S BUSINESS! I've looked at their 2020 tour dates, and they are just playing five concerts next year, four in South America and one in Amsterdam (and those Amsterdam tickets are selling out fast). I'm definitely thinking about going to Chile, Argentina, or Brazil to see Nightwish next year. I'm a member of the "Nightwish Army" from now on!
@@BroadwayJosh They don't have their whole list of dates and places out yet. They still do not have the US dates and cities. They put out their Europe dates. So we will have to wait to see where all they go. I am glad you found Nightwish. I hope you listen to their older songs. They have had 3 different singers. To me Floor is the most versatile and fits with the band perfectly. Even though their were other singers it is cool to see how they have evolved. Welcome to the family........... :-)
@@d3m0nger Don't hate it embrace it. I know how some people think about symphonic metal. But Nightwish does not fit into one genre. I heard someone call them the vehicle of spirit that cannot be defined. That is what I feel about their music. Have fun on your journey through their music. And listen to the older songs too. It will give you a sense of where they were and where they have come..... :-)
Interesting fact about this show: it was the first time Floor's parents were there to see her perform with Nightwish live. She admitted that she was so proud that she didn't dare to glance her parents too much or she would start crying and thus would not be able to sing. Her mom was literally crying in the stands. Here's the link to the video, in Dutch with english subtitles: ua-cam.com/video/B3NIfu0qvtg/v-deo.html
This was one of my son's favorite bands. I lost him seven years ago. He introduced me to them. I like them alot. Floor Jensen is the vocalist and one of the greatest singers out there.
@@hoegarden31 woa, you knew from the very early days of the band, i'm later, around 2005, just after Tajia left, i was very felt sorry for her that time, even after read Toumas letter on Wiki. Then looked forward their new album 2007 and glad to their great achievements with new single later...so many feeling as their music they bring to me.
The more I'm rediscovering Nightwish after a roughly 10 year break, I come to understand how on point their drummer is.. The rythm section of the whole setup has to be 110% airtight.. It's awe inspiring..
Definitely need to check out Nightwish - Romanticide (Live at Wacken 2013). If you've ever wondered what a banshee wail sounds like, Floor does it in this song.
The hauntingly beautiful keyboard variations in the beginning represent the endless combinations of quantum particles, discovered and yet to be discovered, until the correct sequence initiates the big bang! Genius, epic and so very memorable....
Same here. The scientific facts that are stuffed into your mind as a kid and teen lose any wonder for so long because of how they're delivered. But presented like this, with a magical energy, with Floor 's and Toumas's voices leading the class, so to speak, science took a passionate, beautiful approach and became the truly wondrous beauty that it can be. How can we not get teary-eyed, as this gorgeous song strikes that chord to bring back that wonder that we had once long ago, even if we don't remember it? Yeah, sorry, went poetic there. But that's what this song - and this band - does to me. Their artistry is, in a word, simply mesmerizing.
Back when I was in a band I wanted to write something about earths history and evolution (as it is a topic I want to learn more all the time, still at this age), didn't have a clue how to do it. Tuomas knew exactly what to do :)
@Lord Baktor ditto. I don't know how many times I've watched this now, and each time I get so emotional at exactly the same point ... When they say "We were here".... Gets me to the core every time... Pure art
You asked the question, "Can other bands compete?" They don't. They sell millions upon millions of albums to people who cannot begin to comprehend this music. We are the lucky ones. The ending spoken by Richard Dawkins is the last paragraph in Charles Darwin's "Origin of Species", is the title of the album, "Endless Forms Most Beautiful".
I have now shown a couple of your videos to Kai, the drummer in this band, and he is grateful for what you are doing, your videos I mean. Keep this thing going! (he happens to be my best friend :D )
I am so jealous right now... you can't imagine. 😆😅 Are you from germany? Your name sounds kind of german. 😀 Falls ja: Ich finde die Vorstellung mit Kai befreundet zu sein unfassbar cool... klar er ist ein Mensch wie jeder andere auch... aber für mich ein riesen Vorbild. 😃
Tuomas is genius as writing and production. Going to a Nightwish concert is an experience everyone must have even if they dont like metal. Kai killed it on drums. I've seen lots of metal bands live and Kai is my favourite drummer of all.
This is the 1st time hearing this band. All I can say is WOW! They give you everything you could want at a concert. Thanks Alex nice to be with you to experience it.
Alex it's great to have you back reacting to Nightwish. I've always enjoyed your reactions to Nightwish and you were the first reaction video I watched. It happened to be the first video I saw of Floor also, Ghost Love Score. We both had the same feelings and reactions to her vocals and Nightwish as a band. So talented in musicianship, writing, composing and performing. Looking forward to many more.
'Obviously never saw Arthur Fiedler and the 4th of July concerts in Boston. Arthur: *raises baton* Fire Control Center: All batteries, time-on-target...
@@ezeruz1 Indeed! This song gave me a whole new perspective! That in the dark vastness we are the tiny speck of life and how infinitesimally small - though however meaningful as we make it - a part I'm playing in it. That one day It's all going to end for me as well as each one of us. That instead of mourning for our inevitable demise we should be glad that we got to be a part of it. The story in this song makes me so humble and happy!
The entire last part of the “song” (read, MASTERPIECE) gives me major chills, and without fail, EVERY TIME they start the first ‘WE WERE HERE’ I start crying, almost sobbing uncontrollably through till the end!
"I'm not crying, you're crying!" I was at that show and this reaction took me back to that day. It was incredible. So glad you have also found a love for Nightwish and I can't wait to see more reactions from you!
Each and every time i listen to this song i fell so much goosebumps... And the emotional charge that tis music has on me, you'll never imagine. Kai, great drummer, Marco, excelent performer, Roy beautiful musician, Empo, great guitar player, Floor, amazing talented and beautiful singer, but Tuommas is the Maestro of this band, the biggest talent, the real motor of Nightwish. Love them to death...
What kills me, a 67 year old, every time is when the band are taking their bow, the camera pans back to the crowd who are all waving horns and a girl at the front drops her head in salute in time with the music. Tearing up right now just thinking about it. Nightwish give to, and receive so much passion from, their fans, it's unreal.
Please listen to Within Temptation (Howling, Angels, Frozen,Faster, Shot in the dark, solemn Hour, ice queen are really good ones without featuring other artists)
My Top 15 Within Temptation Songs are (no specific order): Paradise (but this is my #1 so far), Endless War, Raise your Banners, Supernova, The Reckoning, Iron, Angels, Shot in the Dark, Dangerous, Our Solemn Hour, Dog Days, Edge of the World, The Cross, Empty Eyes & Where is the Edge
@@Hawk999 i don't need subs , i'm Dutch ;) Last week i viewed the program again . So proud of Floor and what she has achieved. I must say the other classmates looked a bit jealous. :P
One thing I love about all the Nightwish reacts going around is the positivity. Being involved in the Nightwish fan Community was such a dark, negative place for so long. Folks were just nasty and bitter and argumentative. All these new fans are helping remind us why we love this band so much and it feels so good. Thanks newbies, the community needed this
I've been a fan since around Dark Passion Play. And... I've loved every singer, and most songs. There's some that don't resonate well with me, but what I love about Nightwish are the lyrics, and the fusion of Metal and Symphony. Long as they stay true to themselves, I'll always love their sound
I remember that. I discovered Nightwish right in the middle of the whole Tarja/Annette thing, and all I could see in the comments on every single Nightwish video was "they suck without Tarja!", and "Annette sucks, bring Tarja back!". It almost put me off them, but I'm glad I stuck with them. I actually saw them live in the year Annette left part way through the tour, and Floor stood in for her (and then everyone was like "please keep her!" :D ). I feel sorry for Annette, though, whose only crime was to not be Tarja. I don't think she really suited the band, tbh. Floor definitely does and I hope she stays with them. Symphonic metal bands often seem to struggle to keep singers, for some reason.
I actually wonder if its these reaction videos that have turned things around. Divisiveness with the head singers, yes. But now, we can all relive our love of Nightwish through the first viewings of these future Nightwish army members. Perhaps it's because we feel that empathetic power and wish to share this love that the division has faded away - now it's just enthusiasm for the future. Viva la Nightwish!
Fan for the past 15 years... I can only say: Floor descended from Valhalla to calm the waters, bringing harmony and peace to the angry bitter souls with her divine voice... And THAT is Nightwish, a feeling of peace, harmony and beauty, rooted into your heart, mind and soul... A portal to Paradise in your mind
Last year at their concert in Hungary they played this song as the finale but right before the last part they infused Ghost Love score. And i lost it. if you think this song alone is overwhelming you can't even comprehend those two combined. I was crying laughing and headbanging at the same time. Clearly a one of its kind experience and i'm so glad i was part of it. It was so freeing and monumental, words can't even describe it. They were and will be my alltime favourite band. What they do is more than just music, it's more like a theather performance. And the musical genius of Tuomas who writes all of this is unbelievable. The dinamic range of this song is so wide in every aspect and i think that's what really stands out amongst other bands. Also every member is equally talented and phenomenal performers and lovely fellows (i really miss Jukka :c )... okay okay i stop rambling, you propably got the message by now :'D (and i'm glad you didn't cut in this video like you did in the Ghost love score one :'D)
I don’t know how you popped up in my UA-cam suggestions but I’m happy you did, thanks for introducing me to Nightwish. I have been in a dark place for a long time and listening to NightWish has helped immensely. Seeing NW live is at the top of my bucket list
What I can't understand is how, at 68 years old, I had never even heard of Nightwish until 6 months ago, when I found them on UA-cam on a Reaction video. Needless, to say, I was blown away. But how is talent like this not everywhere on mainstream media?
They had some songs in the charts, at least here in Germany and they are HUGE in the metal scene but yeah, not mainstream famous like Metallice for example. Well, in Finland they are, they even have Nightwish beer.
I feel like this song is like a time capsule after we are gone like the dinosaurs saying we were here. So beautiful. This band and Thomas are a gift to us all. Thank you and please keep creating music and lyrics.....so wonderful!
Couldn't agree more, seen them live to. And there is only one thing that could make it better. That right after this song came as closing Ghost Love Score.
Elvis Presley: I dance when I perform. Michael Jackson: I have movie quality music videos that make my songs have a more cinematic impact. Eddie Vanhalen: I play while being swung around on suspension wires. Nightwish: We made the story of the universe, life as we know it, and the human condition into an epic orchestral arrangement, and used fireworks as an instrument. Everyone Else: ... Well, damn. X,D
If you do think that about Michael Jackson you should watch his video on Earth Song ua-cam.com/video/71aOjSk9QZ4/v-deo.html (I mean just as an example :D He has more impressive performances such as smooth criminal and also those where he doesnt look so beat xD) He is as much a master of musical composition as Tuomas Holopainen is, thus mastered dance and introduced the world to story driven music videos. Dont get me wrong, this song is an absolute masterpiece, I just think youve not gotten close enough to those other artists to recognize that they have created equal masterpieces in other ways. I dont know much either about Eddie Vanhalen oder Elvis Presley but I am sure if I were to take a closer look I would look at equal mastery.
Its bc theres nothing out there that can get quite close that what is Nightwish. Im pretty glad to found then like 8 years ago too. 8 years of surprises and feelings that was only possible trough then. See then live is my biggest dream and hope to realize that soon.
then watch her with Revamp at Graspop 2010 singing Disdain.... talk about polar opposites... she's even a blonde in the Revamp video.... and those legs....
I second that - Beste Zangers 2019. And it's sooooo recent, like just a week ago (as of Aug. 31). I was so damn glad she showcased that aspect of her vocals.
What I love about them is that their music captures people of all ages from young to old (I am 63 and have been spellbound by this band since my son introduced their music to me). We both are great fans. Tuomas is (i think, Amadeus reincarnate, who came back into these times and is having a ball). But this time he is also a poet. And all the other band members are geniuses in their own instruments. Floor’s voice span is next level and when she and Marko sing together it’s like the Yin and the Yang at its best. I love Marko’s solos. I also admire the band for surviving times of adversity and reemerging like the mythical Phoenix strong yet on an even higher level.
They give us joy. The moms with their daughters... The hope and happiness in the faces of fans around the world... Force o' Nature. Nightwish is a magical metal joy machine.
Yeah. When you listen to it again, you discover many things you may have missed. Like in the passage where they go with the evolution of music, from the gregorian chant, Bach's minuet, his toccata and fugue, to Metallica's Enter sandman...
They usually leave one part out. The studio version is 24 minutes. If you look at the credits, they thank pretty much list every single person involved with the show down to the bus driver and the caterer I believe. You are correct. There’s no words to describe this masterpiece
I get that the song itself was an amazing show, but one thing that I've always loved about Nightwish, is the fact that deeper meaning can be found in the poetry of the lyrics. For example, in this very song, the 'Greatest Show on Earth' they're talking about isn't the song. It's life itself. Life, is the Greatest Show on Earth.
Sometimes there are things that transcend, that go beyond the normal definitions, that can't be classified or put in a box. Nightwish is one of those "things". You can't call them a band, as they are so much more than just a band. You can't call this a song, as it's so much more than just a song. How lucky are all of us that Tuomas and Floor found each other?
I've seen them do this song live. There was not a dry eye in the house (myself included). At the end, when they had the crowd screaming in defiance, "WE WERE HERE," it was the most amazing and connected... I still can't put it into words. I can't explain it. Nightwish's live shows transcend anything you could expect. They're spiritual. They're magic. They heal you. They soothe you. I've had two panic attacks today alone, and just hearing the bits of this in the video, the shaking has stopped. Their music is unlike anything else in this world. And yes, Floor is a goddess, a siren, and her voice is the most amazing voice on this, or any other planet.
Dear Alex, great reaction as always. But no matter how much you appreciated this masterpiece, I fear you missed a lot of it. You should look to the lyrics and make some research. Then you will have a better understanding of what you really listened to. Just a few hints, do you know what is the LUCA? Or who Lucy from the Afar was? Do you know what is the Goldilock zone? Did you notice that at 15:50 of your video you can hear in the background some notes from Mozart, then some Bach and up to 16:20 the Metallica's Enter Sandmen riff, to symbolize the evolution of music (and art in general)? This and a lot more you are missing.
I'll add the Bach tocatta and fugue in D minor is a classic piece used in the intro of an educational cartoon called once upon a time - Il etais un fois, I believe most kids who grew up in the late 70 and 80's in Europe know and watched the series. It followed man from pre history to modern day. I suspect this was why Tuomas chose this beautiful selection.
Finally! This is such an amazing song. I've had the privilege of seeing this live. They're writing another album right now so keep an eye open for a tour once it's released! Nightwish live are phenomenal
So, Alex. In 2019 I was in a crippling depression. I had to have some breakthroughs and changes in perspective in order to get healthy again, but that process took some time, and I may have not survived it if not for a few key reminders of the beauty and power of art. Music really got me through. There were three artists in particular that I discovered last summer, who made art so profoundly piercing that it got through all my numbness and spoke to my heart enough to show me that there are things worth sticking around for. One was Jinjer ('Outlander' is pretty much the story of my earlier years). Another, in quite hilarious contrast was Billie Eilish (something about her reflects back at me some of my more eccentric traits that I haven't seen expressed much in music; and I think she's one of the most interesting and in some ways positive role models to the younger generation that idolizes her). The third and most subjectively influential of the three, and you, my friend (may I call you that?), get full credit for this, was Nightwish. Your Greatest Show On Earth reaction here was my first exposure to Nightwish. My mind was blown in so many ways. I felt so much during a time I could feel so little. The scope of the song, the drama and integrity of the performance, the movements, the meaning, the singing, the charisma! It might have been one of the only pieces of art in the world that could have reached me at that point in my life, at the level it did, right down to my core. The, "We were here!" segment to this day gives me sort of an emotional orgasm. It's beautiful beyond words. And I'll always associate it with you, dude. You are doing work with profoundly far-reaching potential and results. You are helping people connect to amazing art, which in turns helps us connect with ourselves. That's life-saving. Your viewers also have the privilege of you sharing your infection excitement and passion with us. You're onto something golden, bro. Hope you have a dope ass day.
I am not Alex, but thank you so much for sharing your story, it’s been heard. I have done that same journey, with different milestones, all too many times. I am glad you surfaced.
In my opinion they don't get enough recognition here in Finland for what they have done for music. In Finland most people are always trying to look at things from a negative point of view.
"How are any other bands supposed to compete? They don't." You nailed it. Yeah, it's not a "competition" per se, but Floor-fronted Nightwish is the best band in history, IMO.
This song is nothing short of greatness. The bar set by this is so obscenely high that it just transcends all else and you wonder how other bands are even popular! Tuomas' artistry to paint this masterpiece is just beyond words. He's a genius.
Alex I saw your emotions were true, Nightwish music can make you ''what the fck is going on'' my dream came true to see them on Wembley Arena. It took like 3 days to believe I was there
I've been a fan of Nightwish for a long time, but since I started watching reaction vids like this, I've rediscover my love for their music in a new way❤. Thanks so much for this, your enthusiasm and love for the awesomeness that is the Nightwish madness is truly inspiring❤😊
The Scandinavians are correct. Why label it or pigeon-hole it? It's so misleading. They are just a brilliant band of extremely talented musicians and performers, lead by an amazingly talented composer and a fiercely powerful female vocalist. Their combined sound is truly remarkable - intelligent, melodic, interesting, catchy, soulful music which is a pleasure to listen to.
When they performed at Pinkpop years ago, one other stage/ group had to stop performing because her voice overpowered everything!!!!! Awesomeness for Hours.
The guy which was back vocal here is marco, if you want to check out his amazing ability in singing, react to this performance : Nightwish_ islander(live at tampere)
If the actor Christopher Lee can release a symphonic metal album ( Charlemagne: By the Sword and the Cross) after having worked with Manowar and Rhapsody of Fire then nothing is strange any more.

The official motto of Nightwish
In case someone hasn't already said this:
The album (Endless Forms Most Beautiful, EFMB) from which this song comes from is about evolution & biology.
I heard in one of the short documentaries that this song was a lot longer than this! but was edited down to where it is now.
When they scream we were here I get chills and cried. Intense and so beautiful
@@Ethreal_original I think they cut out the last 2 parts of the song for the live sessions.
@Razz Dazzle, thank you for the validation of my understanding of this song & the album! Rock On!
@@Arthion 4th part was the backing track that plays while they took their bows.
Floor - ‘Will you sing with us?’
Proceeds to sing a note no normal human being can hit.
Nightwish fans aren't normal human beings. Having said that, few demigods could hit that note either.
Doesn't matter, gotta belt out whatever you have left in the tank after such a show.
Alex - If we're breaking up could you please sing it ?
Floor - "Weeeeeeeeee aaaaare dooooooooone"
Alex - I'll accept it.
Accept it, applauses and then leave happily like winning the lottery (would be the best breakup ever)
Yep
Alex - can i have that on tape please
It's not a concert. It's an experience! :)
There is absolutely nothing like a Nightwish show. It's literally an otherworldly experience
100% agree
This is true. I saw them during their imaginarium tour and it was amazing. No show has reached their level since then.
I've gotta say, there's nothing like being in the crowd at a Nightwish concert during that "We were here" part, with the entire venue screaming it all at once.
Euphoric!!!!
Indeed!!! The show I was at, GSOE was such an amazing experience to hear literally everyone in the venue singing along. It was amazing energy, almost like everyone was gearing up to sing along "WE WERE HERE!".
INCREDIBLE.
I was right beside the woman who filmed this. The audio is great quality too 👌

I always tear up when Floor sings "we were here". Those are the most primal and beautiful lyrics. They are the cry of every being from the beginning of time to now.
Yeah same. We Were Here says so much in three simple words
Same here. Every friggin time i hear this song. WE were here!
That bit gets everyone.
Same, no matter how many times I watch this I get teary-eyed. Who knows those 3 simple words coupled with NW magic could ever make me cry.
Same. Just like Randal says, it is so primal and fundamental. Like the essens of being alive.
Show Marco some love! While Your Lips are Still Red or The Islander.
His solo stuff is fire.
The Islander live at Tampere. This needs to happen.
What about Master Passion Greed?
I second that!
how about High Hopes from End of an Era?
I hated myself to find love in melodic metal for myself only at the age of 21, it changed my life.
I feel with you :)
@@fdsannie Thanks for letting me know. I"ll check out their website again in a month or two. Again, thank you very much.
Interesting fact about this show: it was the first time Floor's parents were there to see her perform with Nightwish live. She admitted that she was so proud that she didn't dare to glance her parents too much or she would start crying and thus would not be able to sing.
Her mom was literally crying in the stands.

Welcome to the Nightwish rabbit hole, it is rather nice here. Alex introduced me to Nightwish as well, with his reaction to Ghost Love Score.
I cannot watch this performance without getting teary eyed. Never have a bunch of science facts been presented with more passion.
Pure art
Same here...
Isn’t evolution a theory?
You asked the question, "Can other bands compete?" They don't. They sell millions upon millions of albums to people who cannot begin to comprehend this music. We are the lucky ones.
The ending spoken by Richard Dawkins is the last paragraph in Charles Darwin's "Origin of Species", is the title of the album, "Endless Forms Most Beautiful".
I agree 100. I don’t understand people who like Taylor swift but don’t know this group.
Alex: "How are any other bands supposed to compete? They don't."
Me: Preach it brother.
Well, there is Trans-Siberian Orchestra... :-D
Those bands are called Dream Theater, Symphony X, Ayreon, Avantasia, Kamelot & Circus Maximus, that's how
Avantasia is wayy up there to
Yeah was gonna say Ayreon. You get up to a dozen singers of major bands so sing for you in a sci-fi story.
i think ive heard him say this of other bands.
I'm so glad you listened all the way to the end.
I have now shown a couple of your videos to Kai, the drummer in this band, and he is grateful for what you are doing, your videos I mean. Keep this thing going! (he happens to be my best friend :D )

Floor entered and ended all debate... 😜
They are all amazing but hats off to the drummer, this song is a percussion marathon and he was brilliant 👏
And you STILL haven't done Romanticide yet!!!!! DUDE!! SERIOUSLY!! Take my word for it....it will blow your mind!!!
Also every member is equally talented and phenomenal performers and lovely fellows (i really miss Jukka :c )... okay okay i stop rambling, you propably got the message by now :'D
(and i'm glad you didn't cut in this video like you did in the Ghost love score one :'D)

Well, damn.
X,D

(I mean just as an example :D He has more impressive performances such as smooth criminal and also those where he doesnt look so beat xD)
He is as much a master of musical composition as Tuomas Holopainen is, thus mastered dance and introduced the world to story driven music videos.

Yes great suggestion indeed.
Jeff K than you should hear her performing Puccini!
Absolute masterpiece.on every level.
I love this comment, Nightwish are so much more than just a band 😍
I was there in Tampere Finland for this show, was awesome and I know what you mean... "I WAS THERE".
I heard that Metallica part, I thought I must have imagined it!
You’re the only reactor that I’m aware of that has watched the video to the very end to listen to Richard Dawkins final commentary. Bravo!
I recommend watching the reaction by Chase Carneson if you haven't. Great analysis as well
I love watching people's reactions to Nightwish, especially when the Floorgasm hits!
@@tetrisgoat Thanks for listening and relating. Wish you the very best!
2 hours of an incredible concert. One of the best I have never seen in my life.
The video was filmed in their home country of Finland. They're national heroes there. Awesome!
In my opinion they don't get enough recognition here in Finland for what they have done for music. In Finland most people are always trying to look at things from a negative point of view.
@@paavohanninen7574 Sorry to hear that.
@@paavohanninen7574 I don´t agree :) I´m from Finland...
Floorgasm has just hit another one off guard
😂😂😂 spot on
"How are any other bands supposed to compete?
This is supposedly classified as metal. To Scandinavians though, this is simply music.
oh it is metal, metal of Nightwish , this is pure metal in a different form and it is mind blowing..grabs your soul
Scandinavians have the best taste in music then❤
It is definitely metal; it's a sub-genre called "Symphonic Metal."
@@minorindiscretion Wholeheartedly agree with you
"WHAT?!"
Welcome to the vocal range of a Nightwish lead singer.
Nightwish - 7 days to the wolves live at wembly
When they performed at Pinkpop years ago, one other stage/ group had to stop performing because her voice overpowered everything!!!!! Awesomeness for Hours.
Y'all, we broke Alex with this one 😂
I wonder if he knows about the film yet 🤣 that scaretale scene *goosebumps*
The guy which was back vocal here is marco, if you want to check out his amazing ability in singing, react to this performance :
Nightwish_ islander(live at tampere)
There's so much meaning on these song... It's hard no to cry with this one haha
I love that you let it play the whole way to the end, just soaking up the moment. I just found this group, too. They are simply amazing.
I would never expect to hear Richard Dawkins' voice in a metal band ;)
If the actor Christopher Lee can release a symphonic metal album ( Charlemagne: By the Sword and the Cross) after having worked with Manowar and Rhapsody of Fire then nothing is strange any more.
He did come on stage at Wembley at the end of the concert to his part live
Richard Dawkins' voice makes me tear up every time. It's fucking awesome that they used it at this show! 🤘🤘
I think he did it in person at Wembley?
I don't understand if that's supposed to be a joke or not
