Hello SoFieReacts ! Nightwish fans here, your musical quest summoned us. Welcome to the world of symphonic metal! And thank you for checking this legendary band, performing here at Wacken Open Air festival 2013, together with Floor Jansen, the 3rd and present female singer of the band, in front of a 82k audience. Also a recent sad news - these days Marco Hietala, the bass player and male singer of the band, announced his retirement both from the band and the public life for the next year at least - we'll see what the future brings to us. About the instrumental and vocal added parts - it's good to know they recorded their orchestral and vocal back tracks with prestigious institutions as London Philharmonic Orchestra. London's The Metro Voices choir group and London's Young Musicians Children's Choir as their regular partners. As I saw you enjoyed this powerful performance of the band, together with the stellar vocals and charisma of our Dutch metal queen, Floor Jansen. Hope you'll continue on this path. Since this is your first Nightwish reaction, it is my duty to give you the short history of the band concentrated by Ann Waychoff, one of the biggest Nightwish fan who has since passed away (and I am doing this in her memory): " Nightwish was started in 1996.They are considered a Symphonic Metal band, with a female main singer. They are from Finland. Tuomas Holopainen, the keyboard player, composes and writes the lyrics for 95% of their music. Marco Hietala is the Bassist and vocals .And there is the guitarist Emppu Vuorinen . Then there is Troy Donockley from UK who is a multi-instrumentalist and vocals. Jukka Nevalainen is the drummer. In 2015 due to Jukka's health issues Kai Hahto became the drummer and as of now is a permanent addition. Nightwish has had three singers. 1st one was Tarja Turunen (Operatic vocals). She was with them until 2005. The 2nd one was Anette Olzon from Sweden (Poppy, strong vocals). She was with them until 2012.The 3rd and current singer is Floor Jansen, from Netherlands (power, operatic, soprano.....most versatile) - you just heard her. There are live concerts that you should use depending on what era. From Wishes to Eternity and End of an Era (Tarja), Montreux Festival live 2012 and Exit Festival (Anette), Live at Wacken 2013, Live at Wembley, Live at Tampere, Vehicle of Spirit, Decades live (Floor). I hope this helps. I want to welcome you to the Nightwish community. I hope you like them enough to continue the journey. Believe me Nightwish will surprise you with their songs. You will never know what to expect. They are unbelievable live. I want to warn you that Nightwish fans are hard core. So be prepared. lol " Hoping you'll continue this journey with us, I'll drop here a list of songs with the current lineup of the band you may like (please consider this list of links only as "a tip of the iceberg", an indication that they have a vast and very diverse repertoire, and not as something mandatory): "Romanticide" live at Wacken 2013 (metal) ua-cam.com/video/zz_7OCCQlXs/v-deo.html "Storytime" live at Wacken 2013 (uplifting vocals) ua-cam.com/video/pvkYwOJZONU/v-deo.html "Ever Dream" live at Wacken 2013 (uplifting vocals) ua-cam.com/video/1Xi4n8dJcF8/v-deo.html "Song Of Myself" live at Wacken 2013 (dark/metal) ua-cam.com/video/lQu5QjidHWg/v-deo.html "Dead Boy's Poem" - live Buenos Aires 2018 (soulful ballad) ua-cam.com/video/S8E3L7ggLMM/v-deo.html "Ghost River" live at Wacken 2013 (metal) ua-cam.com/video/05eitd-EA6I/v-deo.html "Dark Chest Of Wonders" live at Wacken 2013 (metal, the greatest show opener ever) ua-cam.com/video/OvOD6xecph4/v-deo.html "My Walden" live at Wembley 2015 (celtic / folk) ua-cam.com/video/knqeI807ZlY/v-deo.html "Sleeping Sun" live at Vizovice Masters of Rock festival 2016 (ballad) ua-cam.com/video/pVPTUEW1PEM/v-deo.html "The Islander" live at Tampere 2015 (Marco in charge..) ua-cam.com/video/Zo8ncK_5kzc/v-deo.html "Stargazer" live at Tampere 2015 (operatic vocals / metal) ua-cam.com/video/NhEuAPYm_Ug/v-deo.html "Alpenglow" live at Wembley 2015 (uplifting / metal) ua-cam.com/video/FrJvKZNEh7g/v-deo.html "Sahara" live at Tampa 2016 (middle eastern vibe) ua-cam.com/video/lTvYfLa4Wlk/v-deo.html "Slaying The Dreamer" live at Buenos Aires 2018 (metal) ua-cam.com/video/wA44tjaP5n0/v-deo.html "I Want My Tears Back" live at Buenos Aires 2018 (celtic / folk vibe) ua-cam.com/video/TBOdgxjb0kM/v-deo.html "Devil & The Deep Dark Ocean" live In Buenos Aires 2018 (metal) ua-cam.com/video/t26r_vAYQ0Q/v-deo.html "Weak Fantasy" live at Tampere 2015 (dark metal) ua-cam.com/video/AN239Pbqbjo/v-deo.html "7 Days To The Wolves" live at Wembley 2015 (dark metal) ua-cam.com/video/XvsfwAPbWXc/v-deo.html And if you want to hear Floor growling :) then try "Yours Is An Empty Hope" live at Mexico City in 2015 ua-cam.com/video/DuwY1d-KIss/v-deo.html Last but not the least - they just released their 9th studio album on April 10th 2020 named "Human :||: Nature" - just take a peek to their official playlist: ua-cam.com/play/PLihZ3gi5Yvzc0pfH2cbNKUUX8o3pb8eVg.html (for example: "Shoemaker", the 3rd track from this album, tells the story of Eugene Shoemaker, one of the founders of planetary science, whose ash was sent on the Moon after his death, as a tribute from the scientific community ..) The links presented above are with the current singer of the band, Floor Jansen, since I'm a fan of the recent era of the band, with Floor as the singer. I have nothing against previous singers, but I do not consider myself the most suitable person to give specific recommendations from their repertoires. ** I think it's your place, fans of previous Nightwish eras, to present to the reactors the best recommendations with Tarja Turunen and Anette Olzon, because you know and appreciate them directly. I encourage you to add the best recommendations in the comments. ** That being said, I will add here the message left the other days by an old fan of the band, @Fabrizio Gorla: " To be fair to the old fanbase, you may want to include also some of these songs. Then 11 weeks ago she dropped the third cover, in Dutch: "Is Dit Nou Later" from Stef Bos - already 259K views. Then, last Saturday afternoon she gave us the last one so far: "Oblivion" by M83 - 233K views in 1 week.. Thank you! Waiting for more Nightwish reactions. All the best from RO. Stay safe.
Floor Jansen is a vocal athlete with incredible range, agility, versatility, vocal stamina, and stage presence. She is a soprano with a range of more than three octaves (D3 to F6). It is apparent when listening to her sing that she has spent the better part of her life fine-tuning her instrument with help from several vocal coaches. Floor can sing in multiple languages and genres and is a vocal coach herself. It is incredible how she is able to take any song and make it her own. This woman is a true gift to her craft and an incredible addition to a band that has always been great until 2013 when they officially hired the undisputed Queen of Metal Floor Jansen, making Nightwish the greatest band on the planet.
BTW. She only joined the band ten months before this perfomance after they parted with there lead singer while touring America. They asked her to come out and sing and she had 48 hours to learn the set list. Just amazing!!!
Welcome to the Magic that is Nightwish & Welcome into the ranks of the Nightwish Army. I look forward to watching your journey of enlightenment and joy | Much Love, Peace & Respect | Stay Safe.
Welcome to the Nightwish Army! I see you have met Gabriel, that is good, listen to him, he knows more about Nightwish than practically anyone. Following his advice is highly recommended.
BEST reactor on UA-cam. Not faking it, not over-reacting, just enjoying and being amazed. She is a Walkyrie Queen, calling us for battle. Lovely Sophie, we, Nightwish Army, salute you!
One of my favorite reactors, reacting to my favorite show, Buffy, and now reacting to my favorite singer Floor Jansen?!?! How did I get this lucky? Please keep reacting to Nightwish, the Nightwish army will grow your channel.
And we have another new Nightwish fan. Her name is Floor Jansen from the Netherlands. If you will react to more Nightwish songs or beste zangers 2019 or covers she makes during Corona then you will notice how versatile she is.
The name of this style is Symphonic Metal. This style combines elements of rock metal opera and symphonic music. The best bands in this genre are nightwish and epica. And it is interesting that the fans of these two groups completely support each other. And the members of both groups are very close to each other. Floor singer of nightwish and simone singer of epica are close friends. And both have received classical training and have very close sound colors. And the two are together in the song epica sancta terra, which is a wonderful song. Nightwish fans are a big group called nightwish army who will definitely help you get acquainted with this style and wonderful songs of this style from now on after this video.
In addition to Nightwish and Epica, it would make sense to also check out Within Temptation and Delain. Some less known bands are Xandria, Amaranthe, Leaves Eyes, Sirenia, Tristania and of course the previous bands of Floor Jansen: After Forever and ReVamp. For Delain, I'd recommend listening studio versions because their live performances vary a lot - the production quality is definitely far from Nightwish live productions.
11:00 the Floorgasm brings yet another convert to the family !! 😁 Welcome Sister. You’re one of us now. Just FYI, that’s about 70 minutes into the show, and Floor had been killin’ it the whole way already. Also, that’s 82 THOUSAND people hanging on her every word; so, no pressure on her to Bury that (9 second long)high note.... At 6’1 and 170 pounds Floor is a smiling, singing, dancing, enchanting, stage commanding Valkyrie Goddess, and to me at least, a gift from above. Seeing the whole video of this concert, Especially the Floorgasm changed my life. It made me start listening to music again. I love watching these reaction videos and my biggest hope is that people follow and enjoy the Symphonic Metal path I was led to. Welcome to it. 💙💙💙All Hail Floor !! 💙💙💙 Infantryman-Nightwish Army. It’ll add the context you need to fully appreciate this emotional masterpiece.)
Good reaction video. I like, that you don't stop the video to many times to give your thoughts. I know! I posted this already on other reaction videos. But let me say this again: Despite living close to Wacken, Germany, where the biggest Metal Festival of the Universe is taking place, I don't consider myself as a metal fan. However, I attended it three times and I have to admit, that these fans are a class act. Besides the great show and of course the singer Floor Jansen - to hear the crowd appreciating the last note with cheering because they recogniced how effortless and gooood that was gives me goosebumps again and made even Floor happily smiling. And not to forget: the artists are actually seeing the crowd, not just a wall of Iphones, filming them for a crappy UA-cam video like many Pop crowds do. They are just appreciating the music, the art and the moment of epicness. So, Props to you my dear Metal Heads....and see you next time in Wacken! Hopefully in 2022?!
Floor has been dropping covers on UA-cam during the pandemic. I'd suggest a trip through her channel as I'm sure there's something there that will intrigue you. BTW, this song doesn't represent the limits of her voice, not even close to it. Here's the playlist for her covers: ua-cam.com/play/PL8iSYWeQhlinbJW0aJc2iVy5tYEhC5KL9.html
Hi from the UK. Well, Nightwish...there are no words! You have just experienced a classic "Floorgasm". Epic production with many interesting layers. They have such creativity. Great reaction. Your facial reaction said it all! Stay safe.
"I assume she's the lead singer in the band" -- actually, she's the backup singer for Marko (bassist) and Troy (every damned instrument on the planet). They let her take the front position now and then. :D That is a joke.. .kinda.
Originally Floor was sent by Allfather Odhinn to Midgard to gather the souls of fallen warriors to Valhalla, but she got distracted and joined a series of bands. However, Floor still gathers souls by her grace, beauty and the sheer power of her vocals. We give thanks for her at our Blots regularly and hope that Odhinn won't notice that she has never returned to Asgard. ALL HAIL THE VALKYRIE GODDESS!!!
Nightwish Iowa here, running late, as usual. Wonderful reaction! I love the shock and I love the awe! I'm here crying as usual, because this song is so moving, and it is such an amazing performance.
One of us. One of us. One of us. Yes lady. I have been a fan of Nightwish since 1998 and floor has made this band really raise to the next level. Glad you can join us. ♥️
Hi SoFieReacts. Great reaction. You're right. Floor Jansen's voice control is outstanding, epic, legendary. She is singing what she wants because she can sing everything (well... she said once she can't sing French rap but I think she was kidding;) ). That's why I'm sure you'll be delightful during this journey across the Nightwish music. Stay safe and all the best, Nightwish Army Poland.
I subscribed for the Buffy reactions. I wasn't expecting Nightwish too, but I'm here for it! They're one of my favorite bands and Floor Jansen one of my favorite singers.
Right on, Sofie! This reaction easily made it into the top of my favorite reaction videos of this song, which btw is UA-cam's most reacted to performance. Your sincerity, astonishment and enthusiasm, all that coming from a pro who knows what she's talking about, makes it so easy to like your reaction. I happily subscribed and hope you'll very soon continue your journey into the Wonderful World of Nightwish and Floor Jansen. There is soooooo much to discover!
Don’t be ashamed Sofie! ….71 years old and just discovered them 4 months ago and said the same as you…”why have I never heard them before?”….but now happily a member of the Nightwish Army
Welcome to the rabbit hole!!! You're lucky to discover all of their remaining songs. I suggest Romanticide or Storytime to continue your journey with Nightwish
Unfortunately you choose the wrong video to use (No hate, not your fault, you weren't to know) The one you used was ripped from the blu-ray version of the concert which due to a conversion error plays 4% slower than it should, Which slows the tempo and alters the pitch of the songs. Next time be sure to use the videos labeled (Official Live Video) Happy to see you enjoyed it anyway.
@Matt B So I finally heard the fabled "slow Wachen video", and it's definitely a little slow. I'm sure some people are concerned that using the official video would increase the odds of a takedown, but I've never seen anyone get their Nightwish reaction taken down.
Oh i had no idea. I’ll make sure to listen to the right one. I can only imagine how the original fastest tempo will sound like. I was impressed with this version already.
@@SoFieReactsTV Hi Sofie, can you supply the URL link for the video you used please? I and others have complained that this video is still on UA-cam. It gets reacted to by unsuspecting people like you, and none of like the idea of any performance reproduced and posted with a flaw like the wrong tempo. I would like to attempt to contact the channel owner of this video to ask him to remove this video from UA-cam.
Welcome to Nightwish, glad to have you on board. Floor does a pretty interesting routine in this one, she's switching between head voice, chest voice, and mixed as she likes and uses various colors and techniques to support her performance. Funniest thing is that this song is sort of middle of the road for her - There are other Nightwish songs where she does more vocal acrobatics and special techniques, where she holds higher belts, or seems to engage in a deeper storytelling mood. However GLS is a great starting point to get to know the band, also Floor herself has cited several times in interviews that it's her favorite NW song to perform live. Gabriel's list is a good way to start if you don't have any particular preferences. They have now released nine studio albums, so you have like over a hundred individual songs from just those to choose from. Then there are all manner of special performances like covers and such, plus individual stuff by the band members. For you the most interesting of those are probably Floor's solo covers that she's been releasing during the lockdown era, there's Disney and movie stuff and a few classics in her playlist already. Seems like a few people have posted the link already. If you decide to enter the rabbit hole and to document your journey in reaction videos, as you alluded to in the video, then I'd give some general advice to consider. 1. The fans love their live versions, you also commented that they sound great live so that's why just about everyone will recommend and request only live versions of Nightwish songs. There are some special cases where a live version might not be available or another version might be preferred for some reason, but I doubt you'll run into any of these songs any time soon. This might become slightly more relevant if you get like a dozen or more reactions deeper into their discography. The most notable of these exceptions is probably their latest album. 2. The Human :||: Nature album was released in 2020 just as the pandemic got going, so all of the live stuff got cancelled and they still haven't played a single one of the songs from that album in any live setting (well, with a full band at least). If you want to react to the songs from this album then the official Nightwish channel has lyrics videos available for all of the songs. The second track "Noise" has a music video available also on the official Nightwish channel. The fifth track "How's the Heart" has an acoustic version with only Floor & Troy available on UA-cam which might be requested at some point. The latest album is a bit different from their earlier stuff, and it's also somewhat connected to their previous album Endless Forms Most Beautiful. I'd suggest saving the latest album for now, and going with something like Gabriel's list. It's a bit difficult to explain this reasoning in detail without trying to spoil all the contents somehow, but in short I'd suggest going through the 2013 and 2015 live tours to have a good idea about where the band was at that time before continuing on to their latest stuff. 3. The "Holy Trinity" of Nightwish reaction songs consists of "Ghost Love Score," "Poet and the Pendulum," and "The Greatest Show on Earth." The first of these is the normal entry point to Nightwishdom, the two others are also long multi-part songs (14 and 20 minutes respectively) and they delve into their own universes in their own ways. They're big 'songs' to tackle so maybe if you want to experience the band as a whole it could be an idea to let them stew for a while as you listen to what Nightwish has been up to over the years. In other words, going into massive productions like those two songs is tough if you go in cold. Some vocal coaches do them immediately and then often just drop the band, usually focusing near 100% on Floor's vocal performances. The reactors who come to appreciate the band as a whole seem to be happy about having delayed reacting to them, keeping them as a sort of medium term goal for their Nightwish journeys. The buildup is fun too, right? Anyway these two songs will be requested a lot if you continue doing NW reactions, and for good reason. The live versions of Poet and TGSOE are right up there with the most impressive vocal performances Floor has done in her whole career. 4. Nightwish has had 3 main vocalists. Tarja Turunen from 1996 to 2005, Anette Olzon from 2007 to 2013, and Floor Jansen from 2013 up to today. These divorces were not happy and you can still find loads of fans who are disappointed with how things ended with the previous lead vocalists. Conversely many of the fans who have hopped on board after 2013 might not have a sentimental attachment to the previous singers, at least not like they have with Floor, so fan discussions around this topic can easily deteriorate into toxic bickering. Just as a heads up if you decide to do some kind of "lets compare singers" video, it will draw a lot of sharp opinions from many people - Especially as you'll have to declare a "winner" in the comparison either explicitly or by your reactions to them. Songs like "Ghost Love Score" have been performed by all 3 lead vocalists so this sort of thing is possible to do and has been tried. I'm often left disappointed at the discussion found in the comments of these videos. 5. A fool-proof way to appease the fanbase and simultaneously avoid many "wrong version duh" comments is to first react to (almost) everything from the Wacken 2013 show, then the same for the Wembley 2015 show and the Tampere 2015 show, and then you can branch out according to what seems interesting. This is basically the same as following Gabriel's list from top to bottom, btw, at least in the parts that matter regarding this idea. By the time you've gone through those three concerts you'll have a very good idea of what the fanbase deems as a "wrong version duh" -video. If you're not afraid of occasional comments saying "wrong version duh" then this part can be wholly disregarded. As a sort of bonus all of these concerts have pretty good quality recordings available on YT so it's relatively easy to get good source materials. Wacken 2013 has the best quality videos and people usually start from this GLS video so that's why it's recommended first here. The various covers can be plugged in pretty much anywhere without problems. If anyone made it this far over the walls of text then congrats. I'll suggest Storytime and Ever Dream from this same concert as the next reactions. Storytime: ua-cam.com/video/pvkYwOJZONU/v-deo.html Ever Dream: ua-cam.com/video/1Xi4n8dJcF8/v-deo.html
Hi SoFie, it was so nice to see your first touch to Nightwish. You didn't know them before, you know them now. Keep going with NW and you will have good time with great experiences. And be ready to have lots of goosebumbs. Wellcome to the world of Nightwish.
I believe that this was the 15th song of their 17 song playlist that night, makes it even more impressive! also explains why the crowd was so intune with the band by this song.
Hello SoFieReacts, I love your Nightwish reaction video. I would love to see many more Nightwish reaction videos of you. I promise you will love this, it's just the top of the rabbit hole, come in and go on a great journey. Nightwish Army will guide you :)
Welcome to the world of Nightwish! I hope you enjoy listening to more of their music, they have quite a variety. No doubt Gabriel will be along soon with some useful info for you.
I have never commented on your channel before but your emotion in this reaction and that look, This is what Night Wish does to people that truly appreciate music and artistry. Great job❤
Welcome to the wonderful world of symphonic metal and Nightwish. This is one of the most epic live performances ever. The singer is a Dutch singer/songwriter and vocal coach Floor Jansen. The best singer in the world (IMHO). The band is from Finland, where i reside. Glad you liked and greetings from the freezing northern Finland! ⛄❄👍
Congratulations SoFieReacts on your first Floorgasm! (Named after the lead singer Floor). An experience of joy and wonder. Floor touches your soul when she sings and will cause many of us to shed a tear during a performance. Do your research and you have a wonderful ride and journey ahead. This band will take you in so many directions. I recommend that you follow Gabriels lead on where to go next and save the heavy hitting, deeper meaning songs as you become more familiar with the band. You will get more out of it that way. The Nightwish Army will be along for the ride with you all the way. Southern California foot soldier signing out.
She started as a replacement singer during a tour, & yet she nails every songs. Even at Wacken 2013 she was still an unofficial band mmber Anyway.. Happy to see your reaction Your facial expression tells everything, that was unbelievable
Welcome to Nightwish! I always love seeing people reacting to Floor for the first time. There are so many different vocal facets in Ghost Love Score that it is the most suggested for first time reviewers / reactors. Floor IS AMAZING. One comment I adopted from someone that hit it exactly right - Floor is the 6'0" Valkyrie Goddess of Symphonic Metal! Nightwish combined oparatic classically trained female vocalist backed by the metal music in 1996 and CREATED the Symphonic Metal genre. Evanescence, Epica (another band you should review - their lead Simone Simons was Floor's best friend the last I read), and other Symphonic Metal bands reference Nightwish as their inspiration. I can only describe them as epic. Tuomas, the keyboardist, is the composer and lyricist for virtually all their songs, but Marko their bassist and Floor are both song writers, as well. Nightwish, since Floor joined them, is essentially the perfect storm of combined talent, virtuosity, and power. Add in their stage technical show and performance, and they are unique in the last 25 years. Enjoy your journey as you discover more of Nightwish. This Wacken 2013 concert was amazing (and my favorite), but check out some of their older videos when Tarja was their singer. The "End of An Era" concert was very good, as well as many of their live videos. Also check out Floor's website. (FloorJansen dot com) She has a number of side projects, from solo career to collaborations with other artists, in parallel with her position in Nightwish. BE SURE TO WATCH "Please Learn the Setlist in 48 Hours", the documentary about how Floor joined Nightwish. You will love it. I love YOUR reactions, too. You have another subscriber.
Floor Jansen(3rd and current singer in Nightwish) can literally sing anything she wants and do it well. You’ll experience her limitless vocal abilities. She has her own UA-cam channel where she does covers and gives master classes in singing. Nightwish are an amazing band. I already see some great suggestions for your next NW so I’m looking forward to it!
This performance is pure beauty. Great idea to delve into this band, you're in for a roller coaster ride of experiences. If you feel Floor has a magical voice control ... well consider this just the intro to her abilities :-)) Welcome to a community of many - I mean very many - that fell in love with this band and Floor. Thanks for your reaction.
If your just into vocals.. Floor Jansen (lead singer) has been doing rearrangements and a lot of covers to pass the time.. Want to hear a voice? Check out her cover of Lara Fabian's Adagio..
Congrats you just met Floor Jansen, and had your first Floorgasm. Welcome to the Nightwish Army. We look forward to your dive into the deep dark rabbit hole that is their music!
Thanks for this reaction and analysis 👍 I was sure that someday you would do it ! Welcome to the world of Nightwish and the Queen of Metal Floor Jansen ! 🙂🤘
LOVED your reaction, SoFieReacts!! It's such a pleasure to see the face of someone reacting to Nightwish and Floor for the first time. It reminds me of when I first heard Nightwish. And it was this concert and this song, "Ghost Love Score". I felt amazed, joyful, disbelieving my ears but feeling caressed by Floor's voice and energized by the band and their performance of the song. And at the end of it I swam in a whole collection of really enjoyable emotions, knowing I'd finally found a band that I could sink my teeth in to and that wouldn't disappoint. The best part is that I feel the same, 2 years later. I can only wish that it will be the same for you. Thank you again!
Great reaction. Looks like there's another conscript for the Nightwish Army. Welcome. Subscribed and look forward to future Nightwish reactions. You're in for an amazing ride! Stay safe!
Thanks for the reaction Sofie - it’s good to hear someone who recognises the vocal changes that Floor is making in this song. Nightwish has had three excellent singers over the years, so you could react to anything from their playlist. As a vocalist yourself, however, I think you would particularly enjoy “Shoemaker” from their current album “Human : Nature”, but then listen to Floor’s performances of “Shallow” and “Vilja Lied” from the BesteZangers show (others have provided the links below). Then check Marko’s performance of “The Islander” live from Tampere and the Tarja-Marko duet of “Phantom of the Opera”.
Your astonished and stunned expression really reflect how Floor gets you...charisma, style, power. presence and a vocal range to die for. Great to see your expression and hear your comments....reflected in every Nightwish fans soul....
Great reaction. You finaly met her.............. You got it right, she sings what she wants and in what style. This is just about 25% of what she and Nightwish have to offer,so have a nice ride:) Try Storytime next.
I loved your reaction. More Nightwish, please. Floor Jansen can and does sing every genre of music flawlessly. She performed several songs on the Beste Zangers 2019 TV show and has been turning out covers every 2 or 3 weeks during the pandemic because the band can’t tour yet. Besides being the best singer on the planet she is a very down to earth person. 😄🤘
I like reaction videos in general (shows, movies, music, you name it) and I love both Buffy and Nightwish. You're the only person I've seen react to both. Kudos!
Hi Sofie! Welcome to the Nightwish community! Without realizing you overstepped and fell right into the rabbithole... I see Gabriel already informed you, so follow his lead and you can't go wrong! Nothing left to say but enjoy the rollercoaster! Greetz from the Netherlands 🎼🎶🔊🤘
Since this is your first Nightwish reaction, it is my duty to give you the short history of the band concentrated by Ann Waychoff, one of the biggest Nightwish fan who has since passed away (and I am doing this in her memory):
" Nightwish was started in 1996.They are considered a Symphonic Metal band, with a female main singer.
So be prepared. lol "
Hoping you'll continue this journey with us, I'll drop here a list of songs with the current lineup of the band you may like (please consider this list of links only as "a tip of the iceberg", an indication that they have a vast and very diverse repertoire, and not as something mandatory):

The links presented above are with the current singer of the band, Floor Jansen, since I'm a fan of the recent era of the band, with Floor as the singer.
That being said, I will add here the message left the other days by an old fan of the band, @Fabrizio Gorla: " To be fair to the old fanbase, you may want to include also some of these songs. Just be fair and don’t make a comparison if you don’t want an open war in your comment section.

In these pandemic times, Floor Jansen has decided to make covers for us, which you can find on her YT channel ua-cam.com/channels/xy4Ijz2QKXXJaREs-isxwA.html - there are already 6 covers there, the first is "Let It Go" from "Frozen" (15 weeks ago, already over 2.180M views), the second - "Alone" from "Heart" , released 13 weeks ago - 995K and counting. Then 11 weeks ago she dropped the third cover, in Dutch: "Is Dit Nou Later" from Stef Bos - already 259K views. No, I stole it...lol
@@artiemeyer9988 Thought so. 😉
Floor in wich way could you sing it? "Yes!"
You can put C2,altough Floor is able to sing down to A1-Growling Style.
🙏
Recently heard that her range is almost 5 octaves (4 & 7/8ths).
I would tend to agree. But have you heard Band Maid? It's close, but those Japanese women destroy planets while being cute about it.

BTW. She only joined the band ten months before this perfomance after they parted with there lead singer while touring America. They asked her to come out and sing and she had 48 hours to learn the set list. Just amazing!!!

Welcome to Nightwish, it's a great journey

Good reaction video. I like, that you don't stop the video to many times to give your thoughts.
I know! I posted this already on other reaction videos. But let me say this again:
Despite living close to Wacken, Germany, where the biggest Metal Festival of the Universe is taking place, I don't consider myself as a metal fan.

Next time be sure to use the videos labeled (Official Live Video)
Happy to see you enjoyed it anyway.
Ohhh, that's why I thought it was slower than usual 🙂
@Matt B So I finally heard the fabled "slow Wachen video", and it's definitely a little slow. I'm sure some people are concerned that using the official video would increase the odds of a takedown, but I've never seen anyone get their Nightwish reaction taken down.

Welcome to the Rabbit hole that is Nightwish. It's a good one!.. Greetings from Yorkshire England. Take care. John.x
Now I’m confused, because who the hell is John.
@@shspurs1342 You had to edit those few words????
Hi SoFie, it was so nice to see your first touch to Nightwish. You didn't know them before, you know them now. Keep going with NW and you will have good time with great experiences. And be ready to have lots of goosebumbs. Wellcome to the world of Nightwish.
I believe that this was the 15th song of their 17 song playlist that night, makes it even more impressive! also explains why the crowd was so intune with the band by this song.
I have seen many reacts to that song. Each one of them her voice makes me cry! SHE IS UNBELIEVABLE!
Nice reaction, thanks'! We all want to see them live 😊
Each band member deserves, time. All, included.
The track speed is of.....
Epica is another badass band, the retrospect show is awesomness.
You have just met Floor !!!!!
You are soo lucky you can now explore the incredible music that is Nightwish .
I love how she went from "it sounds symphonical" to "I need to see this live" at the end. :D
Welcome to the under world of Nightwish which started in the early nineties!!!🤟🤟🤟
Welcome to the world of Nightwish, nice reaction, you have a new member. Listen to dead boy's poem played in Buenos Aires, you'll love it
Hello SoFieReacts, I love your Nightwish reaction video.
Agreed! Hands down... Floor is the greatest female vocalist on the planet!
You have so much history to look back on 3 singers, enjoy the floorgasms🤘
I discovered Nightwish about 2 years ago. Watching people discover Nightwish since then has been the next best thing.
Great reaction .. there is so much more for you to discover from them, Gabriels post is a good place to start !
Glad you finally made it to Nightwish! Hold on tight, the Army cometh!
She started as a replacement singer during a tour, & yet she nails every songs. Even at Wacken 2013 she was still an unofficial band mmber
Anyway.. Happy to see your reaction
Your facial expression tells everything, that was unbelievable
Finally! I have been waiting for you to experience Nightwish! New subscriber here.
Nightwish Army - Mid-german division reporting in ;)
Welcome to Nightwish!
I love seeing people's first time reaction to Nightwish
This performance is pure beauty. Great idea to delve into this band, you're in for a roller coaster ride of experiences. If you feel Floor has a magical voice control ... well consider this just the intro to her abilities :-))
Welcome to a community of many - I mean very many - that fell in love with this band and Floor.
Thanks for your reaction.
10:04 "This performance is like a Rollercoaster, like.... LIKE THE ADVENT OOOOOF MAAAAAYY" :D Perfect timing!
Floor Jansen is a classically trained singer and at approx. 6'3" tall she is a Valkyrie!!!
I wish I could had that first experience listening to Nightwish again.
Thanks for this reaction and analysis 👍
I was sure that someday you would do it !
"I've never listened to them before"
Night wish fans: *sips beverages* this is gonna be good.
Great reaction. Looks like there's another conscript for the Nightwish Army. Welcome. Subscribed and look forward to future Nightwish reactions. You're in for an amazing ride! Stay safe!
"She is like a Viking Warrior", that is totally the spirit xD
Shield Maiden Floor!
Loved the reaction. Keep on Nightwishing on. Subscribed.
🤘😜🤘
She’s a goddess alright, Our Valkyrie Goddess of metal 🤘🏻
Great reaction.
You finaly met her..............
You got it right, she sings what she wants and in what style.
This is just about 25% of what she and Nightwish have to offer,so have a nice ride:)
Try Storytime next.
Kudos!
Reactors say the name of the song -- "Ghost Love SCORE" -- and then are surprised, like, "Hey, this sounds like something from a movie!" ;)
That's right! Whatever she's want to sing then she does! Love your reaction by the way
It's useful that her name is Floor because it reminds you where to look for your jaw 😊
the first step to discover Floor Jansen and Nightwish... first step from an amazing journey!
Great reaction loved it 👍I hope you check out more Nightwish 😁 greetings from Florida 🤘🤘🤘
