Hello Casey [ @Cheezyxyz ] ! Nightwish fan here, your musical quest summoned me. Welcome to the world of symphonic metal! And thank you for checking this legendary band! This live recording is from Wacken Open Air 2013, together with Floor Jansen [pronounced Yansen], the 3rd and present female singer of the band, in front of an 82K audience. About the instrumental and vocal added parts - it's good to know they recorded their orchestral and vocal back tracks with prestigious institutions as London Philharmonic Orchestra. London's The Metro Voices choir group and London's Young Musicians Children's Choir as their regular partners. Since this is your first Nightwish reaction, it is my duty to give you the [updated] short history of the band concentrated by Ann Waychoff, one of the biggest Nightwish fan who has since passed away (and I am doing this in her memory): " Nightwish was started in 1996.They are considered a Symphonic Metal band, with a female main singer. They are from Finland. Tuomas Holopainen [pronounced Tuo-mas], the keyboard player, composes and writes the lyrics for 95% of their music. [Sami Vanska was the bassist of the band starting with their 2nd studio album, he was with them until 2001. Then Marco Hietala was bassist and vocals, since 2001 to 2020. He recently announced his retirement both from the band and the public life for the next year at least. Then in May 2021 Jukka Koskinen [pronounced Yukka] became the bassist of the band, for the Human :II: Nature tour - and recently, the band announced he became a permanent member] And there is the guitarist Emppu Vuorinen [he also recorded the bass lines for their 1st studio album]. Then there is Troy Donockley from UK who is a multi-instrumentalist and vocals. Jukka Nevalainen [pronounced Yukka] is the drummer. In 2015 due to Jukka's health issues Kai Hahto became the drummer and as of now is a permanent addition. Nightwish has had three singers. 1st one was Tarja Turunen [pronounced Tarr-ya] (Operatic vocals). She was with them until 2005. The 2nd one was Anette Olzon from Sweden (Poppy, strong vocals). She was with them until 2012.The 3rd and current singer is Floor Jansen, from Netherlands (power, operatic, soprano.....most versatile) - you just heard her. There are live concerts that you should use depending on what era. From Wishes to Eternity and End of an Era (Tarja), Montreux Festival live 2012 and Exit Festival (Anette), Live at Wacken 2013, Live at Wembley, Live at Tampere, Vehicle of Spirit, Decades live (Floor). I hope this helps. I want to welcome you to the Nightwish community. I hope you like them enough to continue the journey. Believe me Nightwish will surprise you with their songs. You will never know what to expect. They are unbelievable live. I want to warn you that Nightwish fans are hard core. So be prepared. lol " For an extended set of suggestion (with links), I posted 2 huge comments in the community tab in my main YT channel: www.youtube.com/@gabriel.bardac/community 🤘
Wow, General, you're quick! Nightwish Army, Manitoba division reporting in. Seeing somebody discover Nightwish for the first time never gets old, does it? Cheers!
The credits follow the last song of the concert( Last ride of the Day). Everyone is credited. Nightwish brings movie production level quality to their live show productions. If you look close, the bass player Marco has the sound editing credit. (He is also a sound engineer along with his many other talents)
Yes! I've been listening to the entire concert way over 200x and it is an outright piece of art. The producers / soundengineers took it to a new level! For me this concert is the benchmark!
5 days ago, I had the pleasure to enjoy them in Athens. Floor, a beater cancer, 6@1/2 months pregnant, always smiling, always headbanging, always thankful to the ground, with a great taste of humor, teasing her belly. Not once she needed a chair. After 10 years I heard her melting scream at the end of GLS, and I was touched, 50yr middle-aged man! Just adorable, her majesty, a true metal queen, OUR VALKYRIE QUEEN! Nice reaction, you just entered the rabbit hole, but get this suggestion: Do pay attention to the lyrics, because NIGHTWISH is more than music, it's POETRY! Greetings from Greece!
The band is from Finland, but singer Floor Jansen is Dutch. I'm going to see Nightwish next Friday. They perform at Kitee Baseball Stadium. Kitee is band's hometown. Small town in eastern Finland near Russian border. It is very special gig. They performed there last time 2004.
Kamalot was on tour with Nightwish in 2012. Kamalot had 2 female guest vocalists on tour with them,Elize Ryd and Alissa White-Gluz. When in Denver, Nightwish's then lead singer Anette Olzon was too sick to sing. Instead of cancelling, Elize and Alissa helped fill-in. Shortly thereafter, Anette was let go. Nightwish asked Floor to join them for the rest of the tour. She has to fly to America and learn the set list in 2 days. The rest is history
NightWish Army Wisconsin Chapter here. Welcome to the GREATEST band in the planet led by our Valkyrie Queen, Floor Jansen, pronounced Yansen. The GREATEST female vocalist on the planet! Follow General Gabriel and you will have the most EPIC journey. Enjoy your ride! 🤘
Welcome to the magical world of symphonic metal and Nightwish. This is one of the most epic live performances EVER. Glad you liked, and greetings from Finland! ⛄❄👍
@@pekkakarppinen1608 hey Pekka, I change my journey. I booked a ticket for the train to Helsinki in the morning 5.33 …The only thing is a lift to Kitee station. I stay there 4 hours ( it,s good weather I hope) and take the train
Originally Floor was sent by Allfather Odhinn to Midgard to gather the souls of fallen warriors to Valhalla, but she got distracted and joined a series of bands. However, Floor still gathers souls by her grace, beauty and the sheer power of her vocals. We give thanks for her at our Blots regularly and hope that Odhinn won't notice that she has never returned to Asgard. ALL HAIL THE VALKYRIE GODDESS!!! The Nightwish Army is incoming! You're not ready! Nightwish Army Central Florida Black Company reporting for duty!
Floor is likely the best vocalist of our generation. Fans experience "floorgasms" listening to her beautiful voice. Every NW song is different . Most are written by the brilliant keyboardist. And all are wonderful. Enjoy!
Singer Floor Jansen captured the hearts of a lot of Nightwish fans that concert. Most of them heard her sing in the band for the first time. Nightwish, with it's genius founder, composer and keyboard player Tuomas Halopainen and Floor are a perfect match, made 10 months earlier in the middle of a World tour when she replaced the previous singer Anette Olzon. You'll get the whole story. The Nightwish Army has found you. Thank you for your reaction. I'll follow you on your way through the rabbit hole. Greetings from Westland, The Netherlands.
The keyboardist/composer/poet plays a lot of the symphonic sounds on his synths (the "pipe organ," btw, is just a sculpture) but the major background tapestry is a backing track recorded by the London Philharmonic Orchestra, with whom Nightwish collaborates often. The choir voices are, in fact, a real choir provided by Metro Voices of London. They also sometimes use the Young Musicians' Childrens Choir when called for by the song, although not in this particular track. And, yes, the orchestral intermezzo is an actual part of the score. It goes with the story of the lyrics. But that's another whole topic in and of itself. Nightwish's early years, 1997 through 2012, have a common, recurring lyrical theme (several in fact) that is (are) woven throughout many, if not most, of the song tracks. It takes a while to integrate the bigger picture of the lyrical themes, and it doesn't come on the first listen---takes a bit of time! But, eventually, it becomes more clear how the intermezzo fits in with the story.
I thought I was a bit tired of this song after having watched pretty much every single reaction video out there but when I saw them perform it live last week I still got emotional.
@@pdutchie4924 Of course I know that, but she lived here, thus she became Finnish in my eyes. She moved here because she has Finnish soul, now she was taken by the evil Swedish Viking away from here where she belongs :D
Hello Casey. Nightwish Army reporting from the Netherlands. Welcome to the wonderful world of Nightwish. They are from Finland. And they make Symphonic Metal. What you've heard here is just the tip of what this band can do. Nightwish really hits you in your heart. And that's what makes this band so unique. Her name is Floor Jansen and she is Dutch. There were 82,000 people there. I happily refer you to Gabriel Bardac's comment (he'll be here soon) for a list with lots of song suggestion. Watch out for the Nightwish Army. Greetings from the Netherlands.
I appreciate your comments on the drummer, Jukka Nevalainen. I don't think he gets the love and appreciation he deserves from most reactors. All of the band members of Nightwish are first order but Jukka's drum work is something special.
Nightwish Army Wisconsin USA chapter here .... Im a 19 year fan of Nightwish and would like to say welcome and we truly hope you enter the rabbit hole of some of the most brilliantly composed and performed music Ive come across in my 56 years of existance . It only gets better from here on out if you so choose to go down that path . We hope you do . Its a journey and you wont be sorry . Cheers Be well . BTW - there is 82,000 plus people at that 2013 Wacken show . Fun fact : Alice Cooper played on the other main stage before themso technically , he opened for them .
14:09 Two Guitars, Empu and Marco usually plays base. Yes there exists a backtrack, the Keyboard player and bandleader Tuomas Holopainen composed it, performed by london symphony orchestra.
Welcome to the best band you never heard of! Thank you for an excellent reaction. Good points well made. You have opened the door to a world of awesomeness!
@@Cheezyxyz part 1 Hi Casey ,I enjoyed & appreciate your reaction, there are many great female vocalist in the world, then there are a few exceptional ones ,then there is Floor Jansen, Floor Jansen formerly of AfterForever & ReVamp who in 1999 started attending the Rock Academy in Tilburg and then at the National Conservatory in the Netherlands. She then went on to study & trained in musical theatre and also attended opera lessons for a year., for your indulgence and reference I offer my list for you , cheers, Welcome to the best band and female vocalist of our time, I know bold statement but if you take the journey you will understand ,the YT fan base is massive, passionate & very active, 80% of which is for the Floor era,she stepped in Oct 2012 ,and has been their 3rd,current & "Final" vocalist ,GLS is the epitome of Symphonic Metal with more of a classical influence as is many of their compositions but many from this concert are much heavier ,also GLS is the most reacted to song on YT ever with several vocal coaches having over 2.5 Million views .But this was but a very small taste of what Floor & NW has in store for you. 12:52 The Floorgasm brings yet another convert to the family !! 😁 Welcome Brother. You’re one of us now. Just FYI, that’s about 70 minutes into the show, and Floor had been killin’ it the whole way already. Also, that’s 82 THOUSAND people hanging on her every word; so, no pressure on her to Bury that (9 second long)high note.... At 6’1 and 170 pounds Floor is a smiling, singing, dancing, enchanting, stage commanding Valkyrie Goddess, and to me at least, a gift from above. Seeing the whole video of this concert, Especially the Floorgasm changed my life. It made me start listening to music again. I love watching these reaction videos and my biggest hope is that people follow and enjoy the Symphonic Metal path I was led to. Welcome to it. 🏆 Magnificent. You've hit the nail on the head and even managed to notice the details along the way. That alone is fantastic. Your love for music is unmistakable - the fact that you appreciate this song naturally makes it even better. I hope you explore everything else as well - the beginning is already superb. Nightwish Army Germany, greetings
My two favorite bands, The Warning and Nightwish. Both are musically excellent. Vocally amazing. And are best when served live. This Wacken 2013 concert is the best concert video I have ever seen/heard. 15 songs, no two are the same and all are great. I believe I have mentioned Nightwish in several of my comments on your reactions to The Warning. If you think The Warning Army is intense, just wait for the NWA. Welcome to the adventure!!
@@Am-Jams Thanks! You as well. I have always been captured by the music, knew all the words, but until Nightwish, I had never really let the meaning into my soul. The Warning lyrics were easy to absorb because the girls are so obtainable, if that makes sense. Like I'm hearing it from a family member.
Welcome to the wonderful diverse world of Nightwish. UK Oldies Division of Nightwish army here as a new subscriber. Hope you'll keep on watching and listening. Especially their live recordings. I saw them live at Wembley in November 2022 and it was the most amazing experience. To hear more from them, I suggest you follow Gabriel's list or pick and mix from it. I have followed Nightwish for some time now and have just about every Nightwish recording, live and studio and not a single track I don't like.
Welcome to Nightwish. An amazing Finnish symphonic metal band with their latest lead singer, the phenomenal 6ft Dutch woman Floor Jansen. Here she sings 14 songs all written for the previous two singers, Tarja Turunen (operatic) and Anette Olzon (pop) and slays them all. This is song 13 of 15 as there was one instrumental. Every song at this concert in front of 82,000 is excellent.
And at this time she has only been touring with the band for about 6 month!!! She wasent even a full member of the band. Allready fronting them as if she had done it since a looooooooong time yaers.❤❤❤❤
Who is Nightwish? The band which is the worlds best kept secret ( so many people have never heard of them), the band whose ‘Floor GLS’ captures the hearts and souls of so many who had previously never heard of them, the band whose followers are probably the most devoted Army in the world, the band whose composer/lyricist is probably the most talented of his generation. The band whose live performances are probably the most dynamic concerts a person can go to. The band whose current, and third, singer is, for good reason referred to as a Valkyrie Goddess. That just about sums up Nightwish. Glad you found this to be awesome. Stay on board for the Nightwish journey, you will not be disappointed.
Welcome to the Nightwish Army. I see that General Gabriel has already made an appearance. The links that he suggests provide the best renditions of the many and varied songs of Nightwish. If you choose to continue, what a journey you will undertake. So many great songs, all different. I join others in suggesting Romanticide as your next experience. I have liked and subscribed, so that I can follow you on your journey (that's almost as good as when I first discovered them for myself.)
You've taken your first step into a greater musical universe. Music made not to just listen to. Music made for your mind, soul and heart. Literally something for everyone.
That purple guitar is so legendary that there is no room for another guitar 😄 Emppu and his custom ESP EV-1 guitar. Great reaction! Hope you explore more Nightwish.
Great reaction, your calmness was the perfect remedy to a hectic morning! So something for the hardcore Nightwish fans out there: have they ever done a live show with a full orchestra?
@@Cheezyxyz Taking the London Philharmonic Orchestra (you know, the one from Star Wars, Superman and Harry Potter amongst others) as well as the choirs (adults and children) on tour with you would cost a pretty penny. And most (if not all) stages wouldn't be able to fit them.
@evi1doer Tuomas and Troy (didn't perform in this song) were asked that question in an interview a while back. They've never been live with an orchestra but would very much like to do so one day. It would be epic. They have a wonderful relationship with their audiences -they feed off each other's energy. At the end of every show, instead of an encore, they come back out and "celebrate" the audience.
Nightwish Shadow Unit from Estonia reporting in ! 6'1'' Dutch Valkyrie Goddess spotted ! Gabriel Bardac entered ! This is called Symphonic Metal !!! Floor her name is derived from the Roman Goddess of Spring, Flora. Floor Jansen is called the Valkyrie Goddess of Metal and Empathy. Floor Jansen is a soprano, with a range of more than 4 octaves (Eb2 to F6). She can sing from classical to belting and raspy vocals like screaming and death growls. And she's also a voice coach and teacher to boot. Plus, huge vocal nerd 😉. Floor Jansen was the singer of the Dutch metal band After Forever from 1997 to early 2009. From 1999 she studied at the Rockacademie in Tilburg, where she graduated in 2003. She studied musical theatre and a year of opera. In addition to her activities at After Forever, she gave singing lessons. She plays guitar, piano and flute. On May 5, 2010, she presented her new band ReVamp, which was disbanded in September 2016. From 1 October 2012 Jansen replaced Anette Olzon (Second singer of Nightwish after Tarja) as singer of Nightwish during the Imaginaerum World Tour (And she had to learn the setlist in 48h). On October 9, 2013, it was announced that she would be the group's regular new front singer. In 2015, Nightwish released the album Endless Forms Most Beautiful with Jansen as lead singer. Nightwish's second studio album with Jansen as front singer, Human. :II: Nature., was released in April 2020. And the master of this magic is: Our Metal Mozart Tuomas Holopainen (founder, leader, keyboardist, songwriter and the main composer for Nightwish) Tuomas the keyboardist writes about 95% of Nightwish songs, music and lyrics. He also composes the music for the backing track they use. It is recorded in London with musicians from The London Philharmonics. Pip Williams helps with the orchestration. There are two London based choirs too on the backing track, the other one is a children's choir. And of course with a synth you can do a lot. This was recorded at the 2013 Wacken (pronounced Vahken) Open Air festival in Germany in front of an audience of 82,000 people (one of the largest heavy metal festivals in the world and one of the largest open-air festivals in Germany). The fiery bull head is the symbol of the festival. We hope, that there is more coming. NWSU/FloorFan 🤘😎🤘.
Nightwish is the band that invented symphonic metal. They started as a death metal band added an opera singer in 1998 and create a new genre that made a huge wave in Europe and South America.
Floor has a swiss-army-knife vocal ability, she can do it all. I'm sure others have mentioned her growling. You said you like a band that puts on a performance, I hope you check out more, this band is all about the performance!
Somehow I would have assumed you already knew Nightwish. They were the greatest band in the world for 25 years. You have been given tons of background and suggestions so I'll just say, enjoy the ride.
The band founder keyboardist, songwriter - music and lyrics - Tuomas Holopainen plays a lot of the symphonic stuff, but they also have a backing track recorded by The London Philharmonic Orchestra, and a couple of choirs, the other one is a children's choir. The guitarist Emppu Vuorinen doesn't do much of shredding. Heavy riffs and melodic solos serving the song. Try a bit heavier song next. "SONG OF MYSELF" or "ROMANTICIDE" Wacken 2013
Wow, you're competing with General Gabe, erecting a Wall of Text™ this tall.😂 Great info.👍 Some might not appreciate your attitude towards A... An... nother singer, but whatever.
Nice reaction, glad you liked it.. do more and you will be surprised and You will love them too. (choose from General Gabriel's List) Greetings from NW-Army-Germany and SabatonFan ❤🔥
Nightwish has been my favourite band for a very long time - Floor Jansen (singer) is a goddess, and Tuomas Holopainen (keyboardist/composer) is a master songwriter 🤩❤💥
Yes, a VERY cool band👌😉 thank you for the analyzis and reaction. The back vocals are pre recorded, also the orchestrals. Keyplayer Tuomas is the mastermind behind the composing and lyrics. Please continue the journey. You will be positively suprised. Greetings from Finland 🤘😊
I don't go to concerts but Nightwish is one of those bands I would love to see. The atmosphere, the music throbbing through your body, it would be so incredible.
WHAT A nice reactionvideo/first listening ! more ! "Storytime", same show ! you will love Nightwish i am sure, 100+ songs to discover and a whole army of worldwide fans have fun! greetings from Germany
If you look at the documentaries of their tours, you see that Emppu, the guitarist, has a whole set of footpedals on the back of one of the floor speakers to switch up the sound of his guitar.
NICE! So, to one of your questions - sometimes tracks, sometimes live on synth, sometimes both depending on song or show. What I can say definitively is that we were all singing All the BV lines at the tops of our lungs at this show! And yes, while they all rock, Jukka is one of my favorite cool AF drummers ever 😛 Well done, keep it up! Cheers rl 🤘👹🤘
Greetings. Floor Jansen is her name. Pronounced "yan•sen". Classically trained and more versatile than any singer you will ever know. The reason for this first request is so you can witness her versatility for yourself. Up until their last album, Human :II: Nature, Nightwish used the services of the London Philharmonic Orchestra, London's The Metro Voices, and Young Musicians Children's Choir to record the orchestral parts and choirs at Angel Studios, London and other locations. They then use the recordings as backing tracks during live shows. Founder and keyboard player, Tuomas Holopainen, chooses what he wants to play to replace in the backing track although he seems to favor strings (violins). Sometimes you will see him playing them, sometimes he will play other sounds. The flaming stag, in case you wondered, is the logo for the venue since Wacken, back in the day, was cattle country. Thank you for the video, reaction and comments. Stay safe and stay blessed. 😊❤️🤘🤘
Jukka rocks on the drums .Tuomas the keyboardist and Marko the base. Marko sings also and Tuomas writes mostvof the sings. They have Troy that plays guitar, pipes. The background music is the London Philharmonic. Orchestra..Floor can go from this too deep growls. This is her 3rd band and Nightwish's third singer. Her husband Hannes is the drummer for Sabaton a Swedish band. There's a video of her reacting to herself in this video. She was in her 1st band at tge age of 16 and now she's 42.
I discovered Nightwish in November 2021at age 57, after having lost faith in commercial radio in the mountain west US. I haven't heard everything but I've loved everything I have heard. All three equally talented, equally beautiful vocalists have blown me away. There's so much left for me to discover, I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
Hello Casey, every time i listen to the voice of Floor i get shivers....never heard something like that.....amazing voice. our Dutch Queen of song...:))
Yes, backing track by none other than the London Philharmonic Orchestra, and a well known chorale backing track as well. The band plays their parts live seamlessly. It's ALL composed by the keyboardist Tuomas, musical scores, lyrics, stage production etc, ...... of course respectfully with input from his band mates. The singer Floor Jansen ( pronounced "Yansen" ) is the 3rd singer for the band which formed about 1995 ish. While there are many loyalists for good reason to the original singer Tarja, Floor is by far and away the most versatile , and in many people's estimation maybe the best female vocalist on earth..... Yes, bold claims I know, but you have only to go down the rabbit hole to understand. This woman is a force of nature equally comfortable growling metal as she is singing an operatic aria, pop, rock and everything in-between. With Nightwish and Floor you are in for a seemingly endless journey of OMG ..... how can they be this good!..... You never know what turn the music will take due to Tuomas's brilliance as a composer, but you will learn that you can always be confident that it will always be literally perfection.
Love how you mentioned Kamelot. I was obsessed with them through my high school and university years. For me, Nightwish, Epica, Kamelot and Within Temptation occupy a special place in my heart. Loved the reaction. PEACE!
Nightwish is the OG of symphonic metal reinventing it once in every decade since 1996 when there was no such thing as symphonic metal but power metal with opera style vocals.
Hi, Nightwish army west Germany coming in 🤘great reaction! I realy appreciate your concentration on the music! It is always a pleasure to experience someones first reaction to Nightwish. I had the great honor to see this band live two days ago in Gelsenkirchen/Germany and they are still amazing after all this years. It was a blast! I am so thankful that I had the opportunity to see them live before there tour ending. Floor Jansen, our beautiful pregnant Valkyrie Godess, was amazing (she was a truly wonderwoman that rocked the stage with her big baby belly, just incomprehensible!) and the guys where all outstanding too. It was as Troy (you didnt see Troy yet, he is another member of the band) said during the concert "this is not just another gig but like a party at home with friends and family" I hope you continue to react to this wonderful Finnish band. I recomment "7 days to the wolves " live at wembley or "dark chest of wonders" wish was the opener of this Wacken Show. At least you can not choose a wrong live performance from Nightwish ❤
Finally you react to NW. I follow you since the beginning and I was hoping that knowing so many female musicians you could finally meet the great queen of metal. Floor Jansen. I warn you that it's a one way road. The music that these people have created will take you to unthinkable places, making you feel things that maybe you have never experienced. Greetings from Argentina.
Welcome to the wonderful world of Nightwish. I "discovered" Nightwish and Floor Jansen just over 16 months ago after being pestered in to listening to them by a friend live at Wembley 2015 with the phenomenal "Poet and the Pendulum" not expecting to like what I heard but OMG I was blown away and have been ever since. Here at Wacken 2013 the majority present would not have seen or heard Floor fronting the band but I wager that all were mesmerised from the first note sung, before even. Phenomenal band. Thank you for a wonderful reaction. Paul 🙏😊👍❤️
"If you are looking at this, I'm probably diving down the rabbit hole of your favourite artist", it said in your intro. The moment I read that, I subbed. 😂 Spot on!! I can't wait to see more Nightwish reactions!
11:52 backing track. Tuomas mostly plays synth violins on his primary keyboard. The backing symphonic stuff is the London Philharmonic Orchestra, and the London Philharmonic Choir is usually the ones singing backing vocals in tracks like this. You know you've made it when you get the London Philharmonic ANYTHING in your music 🤘
Greetings from Nightwish Army, Palm Springs, CA! Too bad it had to take someone paying you, for you to check out this amazing band! I hope you continue your journey thru their catalog.
Glad you decided to react to this band,This is with their 3rd singer Floor Jansen,a 6’1” Dutch vocal beast..They’re definitely a band that are better live, their studio stuff is good but it’s their live performances where they shine…they go from operatic though to rock, folk,Celtic and on to thrash and everything in between, hope you decide to dip your toe into some more..if you do then definitely use Gabriel’s list as it has the best quality videos performance and audio wise.👍
And down the rabbit hole you go with the rest of us. Once you hear Nightwish and beautiful voice of Valkyre Floor you are hooked, "floorgasm" is lik-e a drug, it just pulls you for more 🥰
Welcome to the world of Nightwish and symphonic metal. They really are an unique band, all songs are different but all awesome and Floor beautiful voice reach your heart and soul (she can sing from opera to growling, one of the most versatile voices I know). Hope you continue to explore their music. Greetings from Portugal
Since this is your first Nightwish reaction, it is my duty to give you the [updated] short history of the band concentrated by Ann Waychoff, one of the biggest Nightwish fan who has since passed away (and I am doing this in her memory):
" Nightwish was started in 1996.They are considered a Symphonic Metal band, with a female main singer.
So be prepared. lol "

Can we take a minute and appreciate how well this was mixed and produced as well. For a live performance, this was incredible.
The whole show is :) To me, the Wacken 2013 concert is the hallmark to which I compare all other live shows, and most of them fall short.
The credits follow the last song of the concert( Last ride of the Day). Everyone is credited. Nightwish brings movie production level quality to their live show productions. If you look close, the bass player Marco has the sound editing credit. (He is also a sound engineer along with his many other talents)
I concur .

I'm coming too! 😎👍
I will be there travelling from The Netherlands :)
I'm there too, as well as in Vaasa - I've already seen the concert in Stockholm
We will be there! 😉
See you all there!

NW forever! Sooo good!
Hi, super reaction, I am honored to welcome you on behalf of the Nightwish Army, greetings from Poland
I thought I was a bit tired of this song after having watched pretty much every single reaction video out there but when I saw them perform it live last week I still got emotional.

Welcome to the best band and female vocalist of our time, I know bold statement but if you take the journey you will understand ,the YT fan base is massive, passionate & very active, 80% of which is for the Floor era,she stepped in Oct 2012 ,and has been their 3rd,current & "Final" vocalist ,GLS is the epitome of Symphonic Metal with more of a classical influence as is many of their compositions but many from this concert are much heavier ,also GLS is the most reacted to song on YT ever with several vocal coaches having over 2.5 Million views .But this was but a very small taste of what Floor & NW has in store for you.

Great reaction, your calmness was the perfect remedy to a hectic morning! So something for the hardcore Nightwish fans out there: have they ever done a live show with a full orchestra?
Never.
That would be amazing!
Yet, Tarja herself performed with an orchestra, sang Sleeping Sun and some more.
And the master of this magic is:
Our Metal Mozart Tuomas Holopainen (founder, leader, keyboardist, songwriter and the main composer for Nightwish)
Tuomas the keyboardist writes about 95% of Nightwish songs, music and lyrics.

Nightwish is the band that invented symphonic metal. They started as a death metal band added an opera singer in 1998 and create a new genre that made a huge wave in Europe and South America.

therion first

Fun story-I saw Kamelot open for Nightwish at Floor’s first show with the band in Seattle. Completely epic

And yes, while they all rock, Jukka is one of my favorite cool AF drummers ever 😛
Well done, keep it up!
Cheers

Great choise! Wellcome to nightwish. Greetings from nwAse Sweden
Nightwish fan here, from Puerto Rico!
Best reaction in a long time. Thanks. This will be a fun ride down the rabbit hole 😊 greetings from Stockholm. 🤘
She can sing anything. Try "Yours is an Empty Hope" (Wembley).
PEACE!
🤘🤘
Nightwish is the OG of symphonic metal reinventing it once in every decade since 1996 when there was no such thing as symphonic metal but power metal with opera style vocals.
Funny that you mention Kamelot. They most definitely have history with Nightwish...😎🎏
Who doesn’t know Nightwish?! Great video ty best band ever
It was as Troy (you didnt see Troy yet, he is another member of the band) said during the concert "this is not just another gig but like a party at home with friends and family"
I hope you continue to react to this wonderful Finnish band. I recomment "7 days to the wolves " live at wembley or "dark chest of wonders" wish was the opener of this Wacken Show. At least you can not choose a wrong live performance from Nightwish ❤
Casey, Camelot has opened for Nightwish before. :)
Thank you for your ongoing love and support, Sr J! I'm excited for this new journey of diving down the rabbit hole of NW.
It’s so unbelievable that this band is known worldwide…but not so much here in America. I’m a NW/FJ follower due to my 14 yr old daughter!
I have been to their concert in Gelsenkirchen Germany 🇩🇪 just yesterday.
It was amazing 😊
I appreciate you!
Well done good sir, i hope you continue the journey, greetings from floor country, holland :)
My brother lives in Indio 😎🧀🤘 Many more to come!
@Cheezyxyz Ah! Small world...but I'm really excited for you to discover more Nightwish... I support you all the way!
Nightlight army: OH MY GOD DONT PAUSE IT THERE!
Casey: *admires guitar work then backs it up*
Nightlight army: *collective sigh of relief*
Glad you decided to react to this band,This is with their 3rd singer Floor Jansen,a 6’1” Dutch vocal beast..They’re definitely a band that are better live, their studio stuff is good but it’s their live performances where they shine…they go from operatic though to rock, folk,Celtic and on to thrash and everything in between, hope you decide to dip your toe into some more..if you do then definitely use Gabriel’s list as it has the best quality videos performance and audio wise.👍
And down the rabbit hole you go with the rest of us. Once you hear Nightwish and beautiful voice of Valkyre Floor you are hooked, "floorgasm" is lik-e a drug, it just pulls you for more 🥰
Hi thanks for your reaction, hope you stick around there's so much more this band can do. Greetings from the Uk🇬🇧
