  • DIM DIY video on the Design Fabrication & Installation of our frame strengthening scab plate engine mounting system for swapping a Dodge Dakota 5.9 Magnum engine into a Scout II. The horns on the scab plates allow using stock Scout II engine mounts & IH engine as well. See areas by timestamp below.
    We show - how we removed existing engine mounting horns. We show how we designed and fabricated new horns out of 1/4 steel plate. We go over Design and Fabrication of new 1/4" steel Scab Plates. We show how we located and aligned Horns -Plates to Frame. We modify and strengthen existing engine mounting brackets. Last we show frame & steering box reinforcing scab plates welded to frame.
