  • This DIM DIY How To video covers restoring a 20yr old 5.9 Magnum main engine harness from a 2001 Dodge Dakota RT. We give an overview of the harness, show how to clean it prior to stripping all the old tape and plastic off, examine a repair a connector issue, then we re-wrap it with special harness tape and enclose it in protective braided loom. Finally we go over making your own self-laminating self-adhesive labels for all the connections on it
This now restored, repaired, and upgraded (labels) main engine wiring harness will be used on the 408 engine (stroked 5.9) that we are installing into a 1980 International Scout II. We will be adding future videos on actual installation of this harness on the engine and into the vehicle.
Please leave questions or suggestions in comments. Give us a thumbs up or subscribe to get a heads up on our other DIM DIY How To's. Thanks.

Thank you for the kind words.. I have more content including on wiring but haven't gotten to converting and uploading it .. takes a lot to do so. I'm very happy with wiring and how it seems to be working.. I'm currently working on an extension harness that lets me use an external instrument cluster like a remote full read out scanner..
