Mr. Mike, your father-in-law is amazing, God Bless Him, and you! I could watch this type of work all day! I cant do it anymore at this point and I am only 60 ys. young. Been out of work for a year with back issues after a fall from only 7 feet to ground. I was cringing when you were putting that nice wood on the fire as a wood burner I am. Have been cutting and burning wood since 1979 and I enjoy it. Take care Mike, I enjoy your videos, I look forward every morning to watch them, Take care!

I just about fell off my chair laughing when Melissa was telling the story about the vacuum cleaner. My wife and her family are originally from western Pa. I was born and raised in Virginia. We have been married 53 years. The first night she had made us dinner and we were finished she said she had to red up the table. Naturally I had never heard that before. I asked her what that meant and she said to clean up. She still says red up. My wife calls a vacuum a vacuum sweeper, but my mother-in-law called it a sweeper. Funny how different parts of the country have different sayings. Love your channel. God bless your entire family. Say hi to Hunter.

From cutting the wood ,feeding the dogs, to broken vacuum cleaners, to my daughter getting her registration, to the laundry basket. my favorite was from my daughter “why did they call it a dimmer switch if you use it to turn the headlights on bright”. It reminds me of the years I spent splitting wood by hand.. They didn't make those kind of wood splitters back when we lived on the farm. That was why I built a boiler where I could put in logs 8" to 10" logs. We ran our boiler all the time because we used it for hot water. Back then we had an electric bill of Ten to Fifteen dollars a month--that was 1975....

My wife and I bought a Shark vacuum about 10 years ago. We have two dogs. The Shark has not given us an ounce of trouble and does a fabulous job. With a push of a button, it converts to a handheld vacuum to do the steps, has a nice long cord, no bags, washable filters and it glides over the carpet. I couldn't imagine owning anything else.

Great way to close out a video, making your audience laugh. I swear, there's always such good stuff here on your channel. It looks like the Vermeer really has become your go-to machine. Just like you said, it would. Which is actually saving wear on your other machines. Melissa's dad is still a go-getter! Pretty cool that after conked on the head he's still man's up w that splitter. We recommend the Shark Robot that empties itself into the base. This thing runs every day for about 2 hours and it is a lifesaver.
Our White Shepherd only sheds twice per year for 6 months. 😂😉

Great video. Wonderful to see Ed too. Okay. After military moves and being stationed in many States across the beautiful USoA, I learned how differently we all speak. I’m from a tiny town in Northeast Indiana. We always said “I’m going to sweep the carpet”. There are also other ways we speak, and words we use, that I found were different than others. Just like England. They have pockets of cultures throughout. We, in the US, do too. 2) I have had many sweepers. My favorite is my current. The Shark. From Amazon. 3) When I was little I watched my mom cut strawberries and she would cut the green top off and the bottom tip. I did the same when I got older. She saw me and asked why I cut the bottom tip. She said she only cut the tip off if it was bad or not red. Isn’t it all interesting. Our interpretations, our cultures where we grow up. Back in the ‘80’s & 90’s of military life, I got to experience a vast array of people I thought said things like I did simply because they are American like myself. Fun learning the differences. Now I’m in the South and still learning. I love your personality Melissa. You must be fun to be around. Strong work, Mike. As always. Sorry I wrote a book. The End

Yet another great video. As for a new sweeper take a look at one of these. Miele Classic C1 Cat & Dog PowerLine - SBBN0. It’s a canister vacuum with a powered brush head. It uses bags instead of the Dyson type units where you see all of your dirt and hair swirling around. I watched a bunch of videos before we replaced our Dyson with the Miele. Dyson vacs are heavy. I suggest that you visit a vacuum store and at least try the Miele before you purchase your new sweeper. Keystone in Butler carries Miele.
Also, your old sweeper might just need to be cleaned. If it’s clogged up it will overheat and there may be an automatic shutoff.

Thank you Melissa for calling it sweeping! I grew up in Somerset County, PA. I went to VA 13 years ago to accept a teaching position. Several times, people have questioned me in VA when I say I'm going to get the sweeper to sweep the floor. That's the way I grew up. My husband and step-daughter still look at me funny when I say I'm going to sweep. It's habit to say it that way.

You're right about the sweeper, vacuum terminology. Around here if you say sweeper you're talking about using a broom to sweep the floor. If you vacuum you could be using the electric vacuum to clean the carpet or a hardwood/vinyl floor. I seem to remember my relatives in Kentucky talking about using a sweeper (vacuum). Also I think my mom used the sweeper term. Also that frog was a lucky guy!

Between your Wolfe Ridge 22C and 28C, which one do you prefer? I think the 22c has a faster cycle time. As for vacuum cleaners, all the household ones end up not lasting and you can't get parts for them. Just get a good shop vac with the attachments you need and be happy.

Greetings, Morgans! I enjoy the channel.
I highly recommend Miele canister "sweepers". Our family and the business has had great success with Miele vacuums/sweepers for roughly 25 years. Here in Lancaster County, PA, I grew up regularly hearing both the words sweeper and vacuum.

Recommend vacuum, I’ve had a bissel pet pro for ten years and it’s for people who have pets. I have 3 dogs and 4 cats. It does a great job.

Bwaa 😂, I see somebody else had a cat.
That was a neat little garden tractor modified for mowing. It looked as it was built in the 50's or early 60's. My Dad loved the International Haversters, he bought two, one for mowing, and blowing snow.

It's nice to see Ed still out there kickin butt. I thought the Toad thing was about to be tragic again, but no. Pretty cool it survived that. Nice video once again. Tell Melissa we have been big fans of the Vac brand, "Shark." We have had multiple dogs forever like yo guys. Yeah, replacement is a thing with most brands, but the Shark is a good buy, I think.

I had commented on Toms channel when they were poring concrete in a basement and the house had a Pittsburg potty. My house in WV has a Pittsburg potty in the basement. It’s a very unique addition to a basement.

Mike and Melissa, First time posting a comment, you have some pretty fine Toy's there Mike, Congrates on not being Broke anymore !! Melissa talked about the " Vacuum Cleaner" dying, so about 6 months ago Had the same issue, longest time had Electrolux, last one was a Panasonic, so I wanted to try a "Stick" Vacuum, Now I have many " Ryobi " 18 volt tools, with Battery's still working purchased as far back as 2017, probably have 7 or so 18 volt Ryobi Battery's, Home Depot had a Ryobi "PET" Stick Vacuum,( was $249, now $199) has Beater Bar, Headlight at the floor, Brush, Crevice tool, 4 AH Battery and charger! They did a Great Job with this Vacuum, Carpet or Kitchen Vinyl Floor works Great, Headlight at the Foor, Is amazing to me at seeing Dirt etc on kitchen floor! Just saying, Only Vacuum I have in the House Now! Beater Brush pops right out for cleaning the Hair or whatever get wrapped up in it ! Just my 2 cents worth! Mark in CT

I know what you’re going through with the dog hair. We have 2 golden retrievers and we find hair in places that we didn’t know was a place. You ate very fortunate because Mike has the skill to actually rip out your old carpet and replace it with hardwood flooring. Just do a room at a time. The new engineered snap together flooring is great. I did our entire house. Besides carpet only lasts 5 to 6 years and needs to be replaced anyway. Have a great weekend. Love the videos.

Mike, have you ever considered a mulching head for your excavator? You could keep those tails open and do a lot around the property. Just a thought. Thanks for all you do. I'm getting homesick as I always do this time of year for being up in your neck of the woods. Especially when I see the temps dropping and the leaves changing. Also when you talk about the colloquialisms of the area. I still say Youins. LOL

Nice teamwork splitting wood. Great to see Ed back in the saddle with you guys. I have had really good success with the Shark bagless HEPA canister vacuums ( or wood that be sweeper!!) I have dogs and cats and use mine every day. The 1st one lasted about 10 yrs. The It still works but was weak so bought a newer model with better attachments and use the old one in my shop. I believe they are good machine for the price.
