    That's such a small difference (if any at all) that I could believe that they were the same clip if I didn't have visual cues

      Totally agree with you. One interesting thing though - the amp's output volume with EL34's dips down a few db (I compensated in the video). The only tonal difference I can actually hear is the very very high end (8k and above) but it is an extremely minor.

      @@aheadofmetal yeah, different tube types amplify different amounts, that's probably what it's attributable to. as such, who knows, maybe that high end difference you hear is just the Fletcher-Munson curve

      @@LordofDiamondsMetal that could be it too. I'm sure if you turn an amp the entire way up, there would be a more pronounced difference of when they begin to break up. But for most applications, Id be willing to say power tubes dont matter much.

    The 6L6 sounds better here. They're a little thicker.

    El34s are more tight

      Agreed, I kept them in after doing this test.
