The only reason I opted for the classic Zippo over Armor is the fact that they use the exact same hinge they use on the classic models. The lid on the Armor is heavier and I believe that the hinge may get loose due to the extra stress on it over time.
I just got my first Zippo recently on a whim. Got the Chrome "Vintage" model. I'm thinking about getting a polished brass Armor and throwing a brass pipe insert in it for my daily pipe lighter. I now completely understand why people have vast collections and get obsessed with Zippo. They're just so useful and fucking cool.

I do not smoke, but I've been carrying (at least two [both Armor Zippos] for a very-very long time now). I have two different kinds of butane inserts in these two well-worn zippos... one is a highly polished silver armor and one is a gold-plated armor zippo. Between these two and my ferro-rod on the side of my fixed bladed knife, I guess I have the fire making thing checked off of my little tools list. I've used all three of these wonderful tools at some point more than once over the years. I also carry an edcfans waterproof container (it looks like a little bomb with a glass breaker on the tip)... it's hollow inside, and I have about seven slivers of small fatwood and several small Vaseline impregnated tips of cotton inside of this very functional little tool. I'm a fifty-nine year old man...
