Zippo should be making a custom limited edition Jacob fucking Jones lighter if ya ask me. In quotes underneath..."Absolutely no complaints on my behalf".
My mother was one of the early Zippo employees. Both my mother and aunt worked at Zippo. My aunt Jennie was employee number 9. The original factory was a little brick building on Boylston St, next to the Tuna Creek. During WWII, when she started, my mother couldn't understand why they were making all those ugly black flat finish lighters, until someone told her they were for the soldiers.
@@jacobfuckingjones the first ever zippo lighter was made by George blaisdell and he put a note on the lighter “first zippo lighter do not touch” I am so happy he found it also
Went there about 6 years ago with my dad and his friends we also visited the paper mill that’s abandoned as well . Super nostalgic seeing you walk through the museum genuinely brought a tear to my eye .
Me and some friends visited Japan in July of 2024 and we went to an antique shop in Osaka. We looked at their selection of Zippo Lighters and saw that exact Peace Lighter and Hope Lighter, I ended up walking out with a Godzilla X Evangelion Zippo which i have on my desk and use to this day. Still wish i grabbed the Peace Lighter but hey that's a reason to go back.
I’m a boss at a water/sewer treatment plant 30 mins away from here. Come smoke a ciggy with me. “Smoking a cigarette at a sewer treatment plant” “smoking a cigarette at a public water system”😍😂😂😂
Thanks for this video. Both sides of my family are from Bradford and my grandparents lived across from where the museum now is for decades. I went to the store in 2017 and bought a knife sharpener there--alas, I am not a smoker. Zippos are a beautiful American product indeed. And the Zippo Mobile was definitely rad.
Such a chill and nice guy, definitely shown by how you interacted with the shopkeeper. Thanks for the tour of the museum. I've been watching your videos for a little while now and they always remind me of OG UA-cam. Much love from England!
Missed an opportunity to smoke a cigarette at the zippo museum using a zippo lighter I purchased at the zippo museum. Yes sir yes sir you know what I’m saying you know what I’m saying
the best zippo is a plain brass one that will patina and then you put a butane insert into it. I dont use mine often enough so all the lighter fluid evaporates, the butane gets rid of that issue and is a better flame.
the shade zippo throws to imco, ive my grandfathers imco from 1936, never been maintained once in all its years, still lights every time i open it, never failed me once, ive owned 12 zippos, every one of them even full of fuel took 3 or 4 goes to get lit
Well glad to see ya in my home state Jacob I live in north central PA I visited this place once it's sweet really awesome museum, "Keep On Smoking" brotha
I LOVE the butane insert I got for mine! (Lana del rey zippo) I was so tired of the fluid being evaporated every time I went to use it 😭 No complaints on the butane one!
I bought the zippo blu when it came and it had also quit working so at one point i did send it back and the either fixed or replaced it with a working one. Might be an option for you. Would of been faster if you dropped it off while you were there to fix yours
I didn't know they made butane inserts for Zippos. I have an engraved Zippo that I found ages ago, but it's out of fuel and I just haven't been up to filling it. I think I have to get a torch for it, so I can use it to light cigars.
Hey Jacob, I do know if you have a lighter that is damaged or not working, Zippo will repair or replace your lighter for free. All you are responsible for is shipping cost. Remember Zippo lighters has a lifetime guarantee. Read the Zippo brochure that came with your new lighter. The only thing they will not do is refinishing, unless you pay for it.
They look like the dollar store ones I threw out in the 80s when I switched up to the much more fashionable ‘aviators’. Didn’t know they were still available. 😊
My boy is living the life, absolutely zero complaints on my behalf
he really is, if i do say so myself.

Stoked to see the review of the Zippo! Great vid as always JFJ
Zippos remind me of Nick the Smoker. A historical figure in my life.
Nick the Smoker x Jacob collab gotta happen
I love lighter
Great video, apparently they stopped making zippos in Canada in 2002
Good to know, might have to pick myself up a Canadian Zippo eventually, that'd be pretty interesting to add to the collection!

How you gonna get a ciggie all lit up at the Zippo museum ... with a non-Zippo lighter!? Needed to get that brand new lighter all fueled up, my man!

I bought a classic Zippo with flint and wick recently. Love lighting up with it but man does the lighter fluid make it taste like shit lol.
Has all of the fluid evaporated yet? Mine lasted about three days
@ Yeah I have to fill it up pretty frequently
How ironic you can't light up in the Zippo museum 😂.

Jist a Zippo Tip; Did you know you? You can put cotton bacon in the bottom of a zippo. 😊 More absorbant. Last longer.
Cotton bacon? Does that come from a southern hog?
... it's _so_ weird to see my hometown being showcased on UA-cam. HA! Glad you enjoyed!
Up in Cyclone here. It's neat though!

My complaints and on my zippo behalf
Damn! The YT gods sent me here. Always liked Zippos.
Stopped smoking cigarettes 5yrs ago, this kinda makes me miss it.
The original Zippo Car was "stolen" or lost and no one knows were it went.
