that car screams 1980s bank robbery getaway vehicle lol
That's not calcium deposits. That's lime deposits they put lime in the water to keep metal pips from rusting. Keep up the good work Ron. Love the family oriented atmosphere of your videos.
Lime is the colloquial term for calcium carbonate or calcium oxide so both of you are correct on that. It is easily dissoved in water, so it is a natural component of hard water.
That car will tidy up nicely , small cosmetic bang , glad the owner kept it , you a good man Ron .
Thanks Ron as a fellow rollback operator I have learned a few things by watching your vids
Thanks Ron for showing us this. Gorgeous car
Im glad you were able to come to a agreement with the car's owner, you seem like a very kind man, and I hope the owner didn't cause you any hassle!
Hopefully the guy finishes restoring it, looks to be in decent condition other than the front end damage
Ron, I love the way that you can make a simple tow into something so interesting. Thank you.
I had two chevy caprices like this one when I was a kid. One was a 87 Caprice cop car, it was from Palmyra New Jersey. 350 V8, thing with a beast. The other was a 89 Caprice classic with a 305. That one was for cruising. I love big boats
What a lovely old lady hiding in that unit. I can understand why he was going to restore her, I had the 1980 Caprice Classic Coupe version of this car. It was like driving the sofa and I never worried about accidents. I miss that beast and if I could find another in as good shape as this one, I'd restore her too! Ron, you never cease to amaze me with your skill moving all these huge vehicles around.
"Just hanging out casually on a routine job " brings order to a chaotic world. Thanks Ron, for the ride-along. I like your focus on the present, the awareness of reality as it unfolds, bringing change in th e details. Fish-eye lens aspects aside your videos are like being there with you. You make us feel like friends and family. You give us back a sense of ourselves we oresumed we had lost.
Second episode of this type.
Got to love the stuff Ron does.
At least it’s not boring
@@dirtfarmer7472 No way
On your special wood block, you need to attach a length of angle iron to catch the edge of the bed, so it won't move.
You beat me to it! I was going to suggest exactly the same thing. 😊
I was gonna suggest the same, or maybe a piece of 1" flat bar that only overlaps about 1/8" or 1/4" over the edge. Just enough to catch the edge of the deck under tension.
Ron you got a roof and gutters..... collect the water in totes which are painted black so no UV light gets into them and use that water for your pressure washer ..... this way you have clean water without minerals :-) Works like a charm for us.
This is called “Knowing WHAT YOU ARE DOING “ fine job! God Bless and stay safe! 👍👍👍🙏🙏🙏🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Very nice 👍 good job Ron thanks for sharing blessings to you and yours 🙏 stay safe out there
Saw that bleach, my daughter says, "Don't look in the trunk!" We're very trusting people here. ;)
Very nice shape car!
No rot on the frame rails.
Ron,
Here's a thought:
Get the dimensions of your rollback and get some flatplate steel with D-Rings installed accordingly to your specifications and have some ½ inch square tubing welded accordingly to reinforce the plate and have steel casters on the bottom then you could lay it flat (lengthways) perpendicular to your rollback then once a vehicle is on it you could spin it around outside and load it (get a patent on it)
*just when Ron picked up the hood, the **_phone rings_** LOL* I cant't count the times how this happend in my workdays....
If I'm waiting on a call back from someone, I'll find the most difficult thing I can possibly do and start doing it. As soon as I do, I get my call back. It's my way of allowing fate to "inconvenience" me but at the same time using it get what I need.
Noticed that too
I've saw a driver try and pick up a car with the older style tow truck. He was able to pull out and make the swing. Missed it by less than a foot. He had the keys but it wouldn't run so they pushed it out by hand then picked it up. I remember thinking, "Y'all should have done that in the first place." Often those cars cost more than they're worth to fix.
Thanks for another great video Ron I look forward to your videos have a good day & Stay Safe
My two favourites, Chevrolet caprice and Ron pratt in one video.
Absolutely love your videos I watch them everytime you post a new one greetings from an OTR driver, and always go home to your family at the end of the day or night is all of our goals, you tow operators have a very dangerous job be safe and god bless Ron
Nice looking car besides the front end.. really an easy repair.. The undercarriage looks great
Hello Ron, great video showing a professional at work, get the angles right and use small moves. Thanks for sharing and continue to stay safe 😷
Thanks for another good storage video Ron! Good job!
Beautiful old car. Really good shape for its age. God bless and have a wonderful weekend!!!
Never fails . Pick up something awkward and the phone rings
😂🤣😂
Picking up something awkward is almost as bad as getting in the shower for making phones ring...
Just a day in the life of most construction workers.
Usually happens to me when I'm at the top of a ladder with a drill in one hand and a mouthful of screws.
Nice to see the owner get his vehicle back, it’s to nice to see it not possibly go to the scrap yard. I definitely would have had it repaired also, good looking older Caprice. Nice removal, as always, slow and steady Win’s the race.
good to see you Ron and to everyone at MIDWEST TRUCK happy thanksgiving!!!!!!stay healthy and god bless all!!!!!
Watching a master, what a pro and excellent job Ron.
Its really nice wayching a TRUE PROFESSIONAL work the company you work for has a EXCELLENT TOW MASTER !!!
Your kind words are truly appreciated. Thanks for watching and God bless.
Good job Ron. The nice thing about these jobs, even though it's tight quarters, you don't have to deal with traffic or closing down roads. Enjoyed it very much.
Another tug of war Ron, no.15 for the win !!!! 😎💪💪💪
RON, HELLO, I am now just watching this SAT 14;08 EST, another storage car, well it’s legit but you nailed it as usual, God Bless you all , stay well , ! Cheers 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
You are a very smart man, Ron! I admire you very much! Thank you for all your hard work! I hope you and your family are safe during these crazy times!
Thats a damn good looking Caprice. And they had replacement parts already. Glad the owner got their car back and it would be even better to see it going down the road.
Who in the world thinks getting a car out of a tight spot would be easy! That is one of the reasons I love your videos. You always make it work!
Kudo‘s to the owner it’s great to see another part of American history being saved for prosperity I hope it goes through with it and complete the job and protect the car with a cover whilst doing so the car on the outside looks in quite good condition no rust I don’t know what the interior is like but normally it’s the headlining drops on those cars ✅
If he can't afford to pay for the storage unit do you think he has the money to restore a vehicle? Lol.
It uses petrol - should be crushed like all such vehicles will need to be in the next ten years.
I'm addicted to your channel. It's obvious you are passionate about what you do. It shows in the videos when you are training new hires. Keep it up!
Ron!! Watched enough of your videos that I actually guessed right!!!
An elegant exercise in geometry. Well done, Ron.
GEE I'M A TREE !!!!.
You Deserve 100% of the Respect you Worked so Hard for. “Reputable” is your Middle Name.😬👍
Never thought about parking a car inside a storage unit. Wild. Glad all went well and the owner got his car back. Nice work Ron. Stay safe my friend.
Good Job again in smaller spaces. I work for NAPA in St. Paul, MN. and we just yesterday got in our new collectable magnets and they added ornaments this year also. I have not seen what it looks like but this year we have Mater This year and baby Yoda. When I heard we have Mater I thought excellent and then thought of you. You might want to check out your local NAPA store and see what the Mater. I think my boss said that the baby Yoda is a ornament. The Mater might be also. Like I said I did not yet look at the items for my self yet so I am unable to say if Mater is an ornament or a magnet. Knowing that you like that character I wanted to send you a message about these items. Continue being safe on every call you go on Ron/Midwest Truck Crew.
Incredible! Ron even knows how to safely enter and exit cab! Well done!
I enjoy watching Ron's vehicle ballet. A fine blend of art and science choreographed by a master.
Really enjoy and appreciate these videos, thanks and God bless
Awesome , Always Interesting, Thanks Ron
i really enjoy watching recoveries its so awesome watching cars and trucks being towed.no m.v.a.s are not cool. im a first responder i seen it all. but picking up cars is so awesome
Hi Ron i understand what your doing I helped a friend put a car into a locker. & few days later helped him get it out. very narrow roadway to in & out. but we did it. we did it slowly & carefully. we did no damage to car or the storage place. you do excelent work. like to watch you. TAKE CARE
Ron, you might check with the fire departments around you for any scrap jacketed hose. You could cut it into sections, split it, put it over the edge of the flat beds, protecting your cables from damage when rubbing on the edges of the flat beds. Don't know if it would be feasible, but I think it might help when used with the wood "v" block.
Nice shoes Ron have a great weekend like your videos you do a great job on your videos and your job
8:07 Ron, maybe you should attach some wood pucks to your wood blocks that fit the holes in the deck so they stay put.
Thanks Mr. Pratt for another great video, I enjoy seeing your videos God bless and be safe
Another brilliant “cork out of the bottle job”, Ron..!!
You make the seemingly impossible, possible. Being from the UK, I am amazed at the size of the storage facility, it’s massive!! Roy W . UK.
In awe of your expertise. You take control and make a vehicle do what, go where you want it to. Oh to be able to do that with some humans!!. As always, thank you.
Hello Ron!! Yes those storage units do have somewhat limited access! and its a pain with larger vehicles but not impossible! I have a 1999 Ford F350 4X4 4 door and a 28 foot trailer that I used to have to go to one particular storage area where I kept some stuff and equipment and it was a pain to get the trailer lined up with the door of the unit where I could unload and load things as needed. You done a great job with this one and as always a good video!
John Bellas KC2UVN 73's and Good luck!! 73's mean good luck and see you soon in amateur radio lingo!
@m9 ovich Yes my truck has the 8 foot bed ! I believe that Chevrolet had a 9.5 foot bed at one time back in the late 1950's and early 1960"s
Yea you put 2 moving trucks in those isles and they are blocked
Congratulations On getting a Ladder Truck In Scott City. It'll be Very well used.
May not be rocket science but it was a skilled. delicate ballet nonetheless. Well done!
Good plan and execution to drag that out of the storage. Well done.
This is my first video was watching a Matt's off-road recovery video and someone recommended to this channel! This guy is obviously a good operator. I really like the 4x4 block with the slot cut for the winch line. A set of go Jack's would have made this recovery much easier!
You might want to watch Ron's "Locate & Recover" and "Another Search & Recovery Mission" video series. They're his most Matt-like videos, both involved getting vehicles out that were stuck on muddy forest service roads, but Ron had to rely a lot more on skill and technique because he didn't have anything as offroad capable that which came close to the pulling power of the Banana Jeep at the time. His Traffic Control truck might come close but that's a newer vehicle that postdated both of those jobs.
Boy a rotator flatbed would come in handy..
Winch work. Part of the good reason to watch your channel.
I'm glad the owner got his vehicle back. Also good work on the recovery
Storage locker tan unique color to buff out of a paint job thanx Jeffrey.
I was hoping you'd use your side-puller to drag it out. Thanks for the video.
Nice pick. Easier than first one I think. Enjoy watching and learning “how to”.
Ron keep safe, healthy and happy
I know the crown Vic is more popular but the Chevy Caprice is my favorite police vehicle of its time.
Wow ! Nice job in such tight quarters ! Ron
Those hitches on the front of your truck look like they are just waiting for you to forget that they are there so that they can get your shinbone, but good!
Nice job, prayers for you and your family
Ron glad to. See another videos happy holidays be care full on the road
Ron your so handsome we dont even notice anything on your windshield. You do a great job
It always amazes me how they can get these cars into such a tight space without doing damage. I wondered about that extra hood since it already had one on it. Always love to watch you work with vehicles of all sorts.
Love your shows Ron and I am a subscriber, also a retired Cop. Lane changes are made after the signal switch is flipped, not before. Yes I can say that, I'm near 80 so have earned the right.
Hey Mr. Ron! Gotta love these caprice! Lol! As always. Stay safe and God bless yall!
I know you pointed out that you don't have a one ton wrecker but it looked like it helped having that truck because of the way the cab is designed you're able to get it in real close to the lockers on the other side and it still gives you room to get in and out
I had the station wagon version of that same car. Wish I still had it. Great cars
Great video as always! That sure looked a lot easier than the last one.
Little here, little there. Great job.
God bless.
I would love to have that old car
I enjoy watching you work the rollbacks; there's so many ways to use these rigs if you understand the maths and the angles, which you obviously do Ron. 👌👍😁 Nice Caprice too.
Well done very professional.
89 point turn getting it in there
At least...
Great recovery as always!
Nice work as always, Ron.
I was thinking...maybe take a router and cut a channel lengthwise along the back side of that wood block with the V in it, so you can hook it on the edge of the bed and keep it in place better? You'd leave wood on either side of the channel to let it be used flat, but that would give you another option.
Great video again Sir Stay safe watching from the uk 🇬🇧
You make jobs like this look SO EASY.. do you even get challenged any more? LOL. It's easy to see all the years of experience you have. Great job!!
Hi Ron. That wooden block seems to have a tendency to pull off of the tray. Why not have a slightly longer block with a couple of bolts extending through it and then it can be positioned so the bolts fall in those chain hold cuts in the tray? That way, the block is prevented from creeping off of the tray.
Good job as usual Ron, you make it look so easy even if it's not! Have a good day and God Bless you and your family and crew.
Good job Ron
......thanks for putting Kev' the Kiwi on your dash. It took a few weeks to get there but when you don't fly I guess it takes longer. Stoked.
Nicely done, I am sure that some people (that probably have never done it) will say that they could have done it with less resets. It reminds me of what I told a lady in our whs. when she first started learning to drive a fork lift. As long as you don't hit anything that your not supposed to, you done it right. ;-}}
I do have an idea for your block that you where using. Use a table saw and shave off about 2.5 inches 1/4 inch deep to make a lip so that it will hold on the edge of the bed. And you can still slide it on if you need to. Seems to me like it would save some headache, of course I could be wrong as I don't do it for a living. ;-}} Have a great day!
Good Morning My Good Bro Ron Pratt Sir & God Bless You & All Of You're Whole Family Today Thank You My Good Bro Ron Pratt Sir
