Fantastic guitarist and songwriter, doesn't get the recognition he deserves.
'SWEET"s music will live FOREVER!!
I’m glad to listen to Andy’s stories about their music. So much love and perfection in their songs. I really love In to the night more today than in the seventies. Just to know Brian were not singing as planned and Andy did they vocal so good! What a fine person he is!
Love Sweet, even to this day!
Glam rock with really talented fellows. Everyone of them.
Lovely interview, stay strong Andy.
I loved the part where they were talking about Mick. He was all kinds of awesome. I swear I'm still in love with the man to this day. It's sad he never got the recognition he deserved. RIP dear Mick ( also Brian and Steve). Love you always!💞💘
Thank you Andy for this interview but most importantly for the band,…SWEET💕💕💕.
I remember feeding dimes in a juke box in 73 to hear ballroom blitz
I obviously don't know Andy, personally, but he certainly comes across as a proper stand up guy, in his interviews. I did like hearing him talk about Mick. It is always interesting to hearing about the history of the group. And of course, as a Cancer survivor myself, I admire his strength, and how he is giving back to the Cancer community. Yeah, good interview.
Sweet Bring back so many happy memories of my youth. I am so happy, that I was a young boy in 71. Those were the day's. 'Fantastic'..
Great interview. I was 8 when I did the chocolate covered kids with my girlfrind Jelly Bean for the album cover. I'm 60 now. Like what Andy says at the beginning of the video I don't think any of us have gotten "old" we are still young at heart.
Great stuff. I could listen to Andy all day.
Great talk!
great interview, Andy's a lovely modest down to earth bloke.
Andy Scott what a genuine guy tells it as it is and never gives up brilliant 💜👍
‘fox on the run’ is my favourite single ever☝🏻i also luv the fact it’s a band original🤙🏻great interview👍🏻
I am just now getting to see this Interview I remember being a Fan of Sweet I had the Album Sweet Desolation Boulevard and played it a lot I was young teens Fox on The Run and Ballroom Blitz and more at the same time I had a Starz Album I Played those Albums a lot I didn’t realize Sweet was such Glam Rock or whatever they called it Great Interview I have seen a Documentary about and they seem like Posion I remember hearing Lemmy from Motor Head talking about how Motörhead was on tour with Sweet reminds of hearing about Jimmi Hendrix opening for The Monkeys I Wish I knew where my Desolation Boulevard Album was at I Hate so many of these Band Members are Gone now! I Really Like watching Your Interviews I am getting ready to watch again the full interview with Barry Goudreau of Boston. RTZ and more I got a chance to meet Barry Goudreau in the early 90s I Really Liked RTZ with Brad Delp I went to see them and went So Good playing a couple Boston Songs at The end of concert ended up getting to go on their tour bus and first met Barry Nice Guy Very Cool then hung out a while meeting and talking to Brad Delp . I Love Barry’s Attitude he was Really done wrong by Tom S. but he is So Cool he doesn’t complain and say anything bad about any Band member unlike Your Interview with Lou Gramm who I think is one of the Greatest Rock Singers I put up there with Steve Perry these are Such Legendary Vocalist got to see them several times each Lou was Great and Yeah he was done wrong in ways with Mick I was disappointed how Lou kinda bashed Kelly H. The Singer with Foreigner now and has been a long time and is Really doing a Great job with those iconic songs also another Legend Dennis D Young did the same thing he wanted his Broadway with his Rock Band that didn’t work in 1983 I saw that Mr Roboto Kilroy was here not a Good choice at a Texxas Jam playing after Triumph Ted Nugent and Sammy Hagar I have never seen that many people leaving before Band ever started playing Songs did some kinda acting and In Dennis interview he has to start bashing Gowan who is Excellent with Styx right now it changes how you remember your favorite Rock Stars.
Desolation BLVD. was the very first album I owned. My sister bought it for me on my birthday the year it came out. I wasn't to familiar with them but after one listen it turned into one of my favorite albums of all time. Not a bad song from start to finish. All these years later I still enjoy it.
"Sweet Fanny Adams" is still vintage Sweet . I found "Des BLVD" already a huge disappointment. Which lost it early pop rock appeal and was primarily aimed at cracking the U.S. market.
That's a great a first album!
What? Like i had typed it, a bit strange but a coincedence, likewise.
Off The Record.....Was they're best ! Desolation BLVD, is regarded as a hidden rock classic rock !!! A dissapointment... No way.
That was my first album to. I think I got it in 79' & yeah no filler every song on the album was a good song.
~NBS ~Canada🇨🇦
Thanks for this, John!
Andy is a great guitar player composer producer and the brains behind it appears behind the Sweet its sad though ive never seen him really compliment Brian
Fantastic interview. I was a Sophomore in HS when, “Love is like oxygen “ came out. Blew me away but I remember thinking this can’t be Sweet lol ! Love those guys. : )
I just remember no teen girl pajama party was complete without Ballroom Blitz.
Or boys🤣 🥁👍
Great interview. Great !
Andy should put out a Sweet documentary. There really isn't an in-depth one that covers their careers and lives. I'd love a definitive history- either in print or video. I'll bet he's got a lot of unseen footage in his archives. He talks about a dvd called Action! The Definitive Story. Hope I can find it.
I’m so fascinated by hearing Andy. He is a treasure, and we’re blessed to still have him with us. Love him and love this band.
Fox On The Run was the first really rockin’ single I remember hearing. I was about 7 or 8 over at a friends house. It blew me away how good it was. Nobody else sounded like that on our radio. This must’ve been late 60’s maybe 1970, without looking up the exact year. Sweet was the very kind of group that ‘80s hair bands would’ve been hugely influenced by early on.
"13 Hit Wonders"...saw them in a tiny Club in '88...
Ha, I loved Mick's shirt that said 13 hit wonder! Kind of an F you to all the stupid critics who gave them a hard time. 😂
Sweet was my No.1 Band during my Teen time. My favorit Songs are Set me Free and Windy City. Saw Sweet this year in Austria and they had the Songs on program. Made me happy and remembered me on good Times. Thanks
They were my pre-teen favourite band in the late 70's. Set Me Free and Windy City are indeed the best.
Desolation, Off the record, Give Us a Wink = 3 of the best hard rock/early metal albums ever...
Sweet times awaiting( just bit more poop) love this interview man
LOUD. The Sweet. Louder than Slade and that's saying something. Marshall stacks, deafening. But boy they rocked.
ESS335, great combination. The essence of English 70s rock.
iggy pop has 5 years on you. that collaboration would get attention. getting up there myself. i remember trying to hate ballroom blitz, with a smile. best future.
It makes me laugh when Americans say they can't understand scottish people, they said the same about the bay city rollers, not that hard.
I'm American and understood the Rollers just fine.
I wonder what Andy thinks of Heathen's version of Set Me Free. Growing up in the 80's, I heard their thrash version before I heard the original. Having heard both, I prefer Sweet's version.
Swell
Is he wearing a women's wig??
🤣🤣🤣He never cut his lang hair. I think it is real but it looks bit absurd. Brian Connoly also kept his hair the same with a mullet.😄
It has to be a wig, it’s not a very convincing wig either
I would think it is a wig
Surely a brown one would look more realistic than a blonde one on someone of Andy’s age
Looks ridiculous
It’s a wig.
It’s a wig indeed or a hair transplant. Blackmore did the same.
Wouldn't deal with Sony, bay city rollers ripped off by Sony,Eric the lead guitarist won't do cds as Sony will get their grubby paws on them, and as Eric said he wouldn't be ripped off twice.those days are gone, can't get it back.
Sony has somebadrecordbosstrics just ffn moguls
You still got hair like a millionhair hi7 thanks 4 all not 105 yet regards
Andy Scott’s Sweet don’t sound good and the new songs are not good as well. The original Sweet were brilliant.
Why has Scott got that ridiculous wig on?
I don't think you'll find its a wig as he still has the same style but is now white ! Blonde looks ridiculous.
