  • All this damage happened in some stormy weather when the neighbours fence panel came loose and repeatedly hit this front wing on this Vauxhall Astra. Watch how I use various PDR tips and techniques to remove all of this damage saving the customer from a huge bodyshop bill!

    Check out my latest PDR repair where I take out 5 vertical creases and 2 wheel arch creases on this Vauxhall Astra, enjoy!

      Hi Jake
      May I ask what was the difference between the first three crease and the last two? Wasn't it possible to use the red pvc tip only for all five?

    • @1st_track_dents
      @1st_track_dents  3 роки тому +2

      @@zoltancsiger2898 The last 2 creases were a bit smaller so I opted for the PVC coated tip, I could have started with the large rubber tip but I would have had to use a smaller tip afterwards to finish it so I decided to use the red PVC tip instead. I chop and change tips all the time there are no rules set in stone, I just like to change things up sometimes. 👍

      First of all thank you for taking your time to answer! PDR is quiet new for me so I'm still in the process of understanding the method how the different parts of the panels are behaving! It's very exciting to be honest!
      May I ask an other question?
      Ultra dent tools is selling a 4 piece mini starter rod set. Two bendable double bend in different diameter, a standard twist 90 degrees and a shaved twist 65 degrees for £225.
      Do you think it's a reasonable set to start with?

    Tried this on my bikes fuel tank, not much room at all and I didn't have these tools so had a few cuts and bumps on the hand, also really hated the idea of heating up a fuel tank even if washed and dried. All in all it came out much better, patience and perseverance is key as are the tools, learned the hard way. You did a marvellous job.

      Thanks, yes in The USA they probably earn around 4 to 5 times as much as us Brits, which is well deserved as PDR is a really difficult skill to learn. I would love to be doing this over there as I would probably be retired by now😂. Some of the best PDR tools are also made in the USA and PDR is a huge industry there. I would love to be using some of the tools they have, but luckily I use my basic engineering skills to make what I can’t afford so I can get the job done and it hasn’t stopped me yet!

      1st Track Dents. You are not missing a thing. I’m my honest opinion! We lived in Southern California (wife is American). It is not what you expect! I started a business, earned good money, had guys working for me, going from strength to strength business wise but we have so much more here in the UK. We decided to move back after three years. Made me really appreciate the UK. People, culture, the quality of life (yes, really, it is way, way better here). Wealth doesn’t make up what the US lacks. They are great at marketing their own country.
      You can look forward to growing old here... it’s not the same there. You would be very successful there btw. I was.
      I have learnt here to make the most of my business, work it smart, and enjoy it more. You have great skills, some you are probably not even aware of yet.
      As someone once said ‘work smarter not harder’.

    I own my own PDR business in the USA. This is the only channel I watch and trust. Your truly a master of the craft. I do have some advice if you don’t mind. When your working with crease dents, try over lapping your pushes. It shaves so much time off of your blending/clean up work which is very time consuming as it is. I’m guessing you already do that but I wasn’t sure due to some of footage being sped up. Cheers mate and keep up the good work.

      Hey Brian, thanks for supporting the channel and for your advice, to be honest I've been doing this for so long that I kind of go into automatic mode and don't realise how I've managed to get the dent out sometimes! But yes I do try and attack the dent from many directions as possible to try and eliminate leaving any lines or ridges from working one direction too much. I hope you are busy during these times and I wish you continued success in your own PDR business 👍
