Hi thank you for checking out my latest repair video, this Vauxhall Mokka had a large, deep dent on the tailgate, our customer said that it had happened when they slowly reversed and hit a bush with a hidden branch.
The dent was very tough to repair but with a lot of patience I was able to save the panel from filler and paint...

Paintless Dent Removal or PDR is a method of removing minor dings and dents from the vehicle bodywork without the need for filler and paintwork. This is a highly skilled process in which the dent(s) is massaged from the rear of the panel or sometimes from the front using glue pulling methods.

I took my car to a PDR place on the IOW UK and was very very disappointed with the result and being charged £150 for it.. I watched a few PDR videos and improved on what had been done (that's how bad the 'expert' was ) but you sir are a magnificent Magician, it is craftsman like you that set the bar for excellence.
That's amazing. Years ago I used to do "smart" repairs at the franchised dealerships so I've seen dozens of dent guys, and none of them could have fixed a dent that size. Quite often they made things worse!
Hi 57dogsbody thanks for your message.... it’s amazing what’s possible given the time to repair and the accepted price. I love the big nasty stuff which is probably BodyShop and like to push the boundaries to see what’s possible. I do fail too!
There’s still a lot of dent guys who just do the trade repairs and it’s all about time/money..... the going rate is less than 50 a car or 35 a panel something like that, so making a job look ok is all that they are after. I don’t do the trade as such as I like to produce the best standard without a time limit.
Did you enjoy your time as a smart repairer? What did you do
Thanks for watching and hope you’ve subscribed
Martin
How I would love for you to come out with a video on how to understand and navigate around the line board & how to read it from with its reflection
Wow unbelievable. Never thought a dent repair would come out as good as that 👌
Great to watch a real craftsman at work. Outstanding job.
So satisfying to watch a truly skilled craftsman at work!! Absolutely brilliant piece of work.
Just love these tutorials really well done
Craftsman at his best,i learned so much!
For example : i learned ; to call you instead of trying myself.
I don't have this level of patience😂
Awesome! I would wish all damages could be removed like this! Very excellent work.
Excellent workmanship,a true professional.
Wow! When I was in college in the early 1990's, I took some auto body courses to work on my own car, not as a career choice, and no one was doing this kind of detail work. They were teaching us to work the dent out a bit, then fill it with bondo and let the paint do the rest. What you did here is nothing less than art. Just amazing!
Hi Sean! Thank you for your great comment! I too did a similar course where the instructor hit a piece of metal with a hammer and we were told to fix it. Used filler like you did
I often look back at that and smile, the skills have improved over the years
PDR has been around for a long time, I did see a set at college but thought it was a gimmick!!
Thanks again for your kind words and glad I could show you something new 😉
Merry Christmas
Martin

As a fellow UA-cam in the PDR industry I’ll say that it’s incredibly difficult to find time to absorb other peoples content. I try to catch Martins videos whenever possible..... not only is he a superb tech, but a fantastic human.

Thanks Jim il second that! It’s always hard to find the time to view other PDR vids when we have so much other stuff to do! amazing workmanship!
Thank you Dave Merry Christmas
Excellent Video, brilliant dent removal, top marks,,,👍👍👍👍👏👏👏☺
Thank you Dino really appreciate your comment
That is truly amazing. It demonstrates the fantastic adhesion of modern paints to the metal surface. I was expecting the paint to pull away, leaving some kind of paint repair necessary - maybe even a bit of filler and a complete panel spray. It is as if the Forth rail bridge were held up by the strength of its paint!
Hi Paul. Yes I’m too amazed how the paint keeps intact sometimes. On some vehicles you can see the paint react and it’s quite nerve wracking but then it heels itself. I bet older paints wouldn’t stand up to the glue pulling. Japanese cars have really thin paint so they are not so good to glue pull. German cars have lovely paint.
Thanks for watching and commenting
Martin
Bloody good mate
Good job Martin 👌👌
Thank you Osama
Very nice work 👍🏻
no one can understand how incredibly difficult it is to perform a repair of such a class, or how many years of sweat and training are behind it, you are a role model for the pdr industry.
best regards Thomas
Thank you Thomas i really appreciate your comment. Yes it takes a while to get to a point wher you can make an ugly dent look nice…
Thanks for watching and take care
Martin
Very excellent work. Great job. Well Done
Thank you Kutalmis really appreciate your kind words glad you enjoyed it.
Hope you subscribed to our channel
Thanks martin
Nice. Seeing this kind of work, it always amazes me to see how flexible car paint is. Even with these pretty sharp-edged dents, it didn't come off during the repair and remained intact, as if nothing had happened.
Hi Omar yes it surprises me too! I did a repair yesterday which required shrinking, super sharp
Tools, heat, cold and lots of tapping and the paint was still ok. So it certainly can take a beating
Beautiful jobs thank you very nice
Excellent work! At the start of the video I thought you had taken on a very difficult job, which it was, and I thought that you would need to do some bondo, flatting and painting, but you proved me wrong. Well done.
Hi Barry. Thanks so much for your kind comments...
Yes it was a tough dent to repair and took quite a lot of effort to get it started and then at the end getting it to a smooth finish.
So thanks again for watching and I’m very happy you enjoyed it. Hope you subscribed to my channel and il do my up most to continue producing great content
Thanks Martin
Like new again, great jobs bro. It saves a lots of money for the costumes.

Great stuff a master of your skill!!👌👊👊
Thank you mate ☺️ appreciate your comment especially coming from a fellow panel beater
Take care
Martin
That reflect line thing is a gr8 idea I've never seen 👍
Hi Ray thanks for your message. Yes it’s good isn’t it, we use different lights to show the damage up so we can repair to a very high standard. In my next video I use 2 types of light board.... check it out if you get a few minutes
Thanks for watching
Martin
Very impressive. I've done bodywork in the past, I'm always impressed with advances in tools and techniques. What most impressed me was that tool to reflect all those lines on the car. That would be so handy, not just for repairs, but to show people the quality of the end result.
Hi James thanks for your comment. You can buy these inspection boards from most PDR tool shops
They are called inspection discs
And yes they are excellent for quality control
Thanks Martin
Very good on such a difficult dent😏😊👍👌💯
very clever, well done.
Nice one Martin 👍
Glad you enjoyed it David thanks!
