      How do night shifters get really good at this style of eating. Circadian rhythm constantly screwed up. I’m trying to get back on the wagon. Last few days I ate at 5 pm and did not eat the 12 hours at work. Fasted a few and did Omad. Any suggestions or tips? Working days the meal is breakfast when I get up , off days it’s supper.

      Spend a day off cooking up meals ahead of time. Cook up some ground beef with maybe some shredded cheese or scrambled egg. My son makes up several to store up in the fridge and grabs one to take to work. I’ll cook a steak for dinner, eat half at home and bring the rest to work. Different chicken dishes too. I’m lucky to have a cafeteria at work with a salad bar. I’ll make a carnivore salad. They have hard boiled eggs, pepperoni, cooked chicken, diced ham, shredded bacon, shredded cheese, I’ll put a little cottage cheese and a little ranch dressing on it. So good and cheap too. A full salad by weight used to cost me about $8-10. Now I’ll spending about $3-4 for a carnivore salad. Some jerky for snacks but be careful what is in them. Preservatives, sugar. Can give you bad heart burn. We just went on a cruise and I didn’t think i would be able to eat carnivore. It was absolutely possible. Everything is your choice. I would go to the Guy’s burger joint and get a cheese burger patty no bun. Top it with a little chili ( meat based no beans). So good! I’ll eat bacon and eggs a lot. I’ll cook that up before work. Takes me just 10 min. A few slices of bacon in the air fryer for 10 min. Frying an egg in butter takes 1-2 min. I put a little thick shredded cheddar on the egg. The air fryer has a basket so little to no mess. I’ll pour the greases into a grease catcher so i don’t need to wipe it out each time. I also wipe clean my pan and utensils with a paper towel and just reuse a few days. It’s a time efficient system for me. You can do this. Prepping meals is a must. Intermittent fasting is good also but I would make up and bring a little something in case you get hungry you will remain carnivore.

    Nothing but respect to Dr. Berry. Thank you for telling the world about the Proper Human Diet. I am now on day 9, down 5 pounds (I finally got below 200 pounds after trying for years), my sugars ran high between 14-16 with medication, now morning fasting 7 and during the day 8. My sugars have never been this low for years and I have tried everything. Before the carnivore diet I was eating tons of salads with no weight loss, and my sugars were high. Just 9 short days...no hunger, no sweet cravings, no sugar spikes and I feel so much better. I have a 100% blocked anterior descending artery 2 years ago and have been struggling ever since to lose weight nothing worked. 9 days just 9 short days JUST WOW...I now have hope that I can get healthy. I was skeptiable at first because it went against everything I knew about losing weight and "dieting". this is beyond AMAZING. Thank you thank you thank you, please keep up the AWESOME WORK!!!!

    Quick comment to say to people - make sure you are eating enough fat! I was getting cold and tired. I wasn't losing weight and my blood sugars were creeping up. I was also HUNGRY and it didn't matter how much I ate - 2 hours later I would be hungry.
    I added carbs back in and felt a bit better, but only after a meal. A few hours later I would feel crap again.
    I finally tried the high fat/lower protein thing and I feel like I did during my first month going carnivore.
    I am putting away a ton of fat every day and it took a while to get used to this.
    So I think it is important for people to spend a few days working out how much food they are eating and what the macros are.
    I bet tons of people are undereating and not getting enough fat.

    • @fatillacing4131
      @fatillacing4131 Рік тому +3

      @@lindyhawthorne2164 maybe because when you feed your body fat and it "learns" to use it for fuel, then you extend your fasting window and deprive it of that fuel occasionaly, it finds and burns YOUR fat. Also our experience was that by eating high FAT it helped with cravings and allowed us to go longer without eating, thereby properly regulating insulin (key) and inducing ketosis. Not sure if that's right, but that method allowed us to lose 60-70 pounds of fluid and fat in roughly 8 months and completely change our health life. Now when we have a few (or many) carbs on the RARE occasion our metabolic state quickly and properly deals with it. YMMV.

    QUESTION: Hello from Michigan! I just joined your group today and am excited about what I can learn. I am trying to get my 3 grandkids (who live with me) on Carnivore. They are ages 10, 12, and 14, and all have physical, mental, social, and academic challenges to some degree. Do you have a video that speaks directly to young people? Their mother is not exactly on board, so it would help if the kids could be convinced this is good for them (and doable) on their own. Thank you for your time and expertise!

Still in menopause (7 years now!!! yuck) but my hot flashes and night sweats came back on carnivore, until I upped my fat percentage. I had to go from a 70/30 to an 80/20 to get them to go away again. Dr. Berry, I have to disagree with you on the food sensitivity test. They can have some valuable information and give a good source of direction in one's diet.
    I had a food sensitivity test done through BIORESONANCE (hair) and it disclosed very accurate information. I also had a test done for Vitamins and Minerals. It does lean toward how much damage has been done to the gut from eating a unhealthy foods. It is recommended to get on a healthy way of eating and to eliminate the foods that are giving symptoms for up to 90 days, then reintroduce them back into the diet. I understand that skin and blood tests could be somewhat inaccurate, but the hair samples don't lie. Thank you for all you do for us and you are my go to Doctor!

      Hopefully you'll get an answer but the overriding theme I've picked up on is that for simplicity sake beef, butter, bacon and eggs to start (elimination diet) and slowly add back in veg if you just must and see how they affect YOU. I started 1 year ago about where you are sans meds because I refused them, managed to survive, wasn't 100% "clean" (huge holiday and special event eating to my shame) and hover right at 185 now which I never thought would be possible. 1 year ago I thought 220 was my fighting weight, that was a persistent but "easy" 35 pounds ago and still could stand to lose another 10 or so. Give it a try for 90 days you'll probably be glad you did by Thanksgiving. If my lazy butt can do it you probably can to. YMMV.

    Shot in the dark here:
    I'm new to carnivore myself, but have been fascinated by the "lifestyle change" that it can provide for me. But also, I'm trying to convince my wife to jump on the wagon too, as it seems that alot of her health scares could be fixed following along.
    She had invasive breast cancer (stage 2) which seems to have been removed, but now suffers from non alcoholic fatty liver, (as well as a HOST of other chemo related side effects) and due to her sensitivity to estrogen, is GRAVELY concerned about consuming too much estrogen in the diet, as all her research tends to make her believe that the estrogen in the beef will affect her negatively. I was wondering if there was any research paper/document that would show that it is NOT a concern (or if it IS a concern i'll stop lol), so that I can definitively assure her that it is completely safe to do so? Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you for all the information Dr Berry, you are a pleasure to watch and learn from.

      She should be concerned about eating all the SOY in plant products or any processed food. THAT gives you estrogen dominance. Soy is in everything as a filler. Have her research foods that contribute to estrogen dominance. I have a estrogen dominant body type, lost 80 pounds on keto and OMAD. Steak, bacon, burgers, eggs, some berries and 50 carbs a day.

    Vaping is apparently worse than smoking, latest studies have shown that one vape contains the equivalent nicotine of 400 cigarettes! There is now a severe restriction coming in Australia on the sale of vapes. We have TODDLERS! , primary school and older children addicted to vaping! Also they are saying second-hand vape-vapour inhalation is also dangerous. There have been special editions of the Australian “60 Minutes” TV show recently. So can be found easily enough. Scary stuff.

    Hello and thank you for saving my life! Q. is it normal for ketone sticks ( pee sticks) to not work anymore after being on carnivore for a bit? I’m from Poulsbo WA

    • @JanetHipple
      @JanetHipple Рік тому +2

      Hello. From what I understand after doing diet long time body gets better at using ketones and thus you don’t have extra unused ones spilling over into urine so no longer shows up on pee sticks. May need another way to measure ketones IF you want to…many people don’t measure them and just go by how feel etc. Hope this helps.

    Just an anecdote on artificial sweeteners. My 12 yo son recently started suffering crippling pain in his ankles. He had started soccer in same period so believed was that, but rest etc did not help. Diet had not changed. But then discovered he drinking a can of pepsi max nearly everyday. Cut that out and three days later he is good. Weeks later he is still good. I get joint pain from eating carbs, and this is only an anecdote, but it is interesting.

      @@Chrissy0325 It could indeed be a coincidence. But considering i have developed a sensitivity to carbs and getting swelling of the joints, i thought it could be reasonable to suppose my kids may have inherited some of that? Tested myself thoroughly on that, so it is confirmed. Eliminated all other variables for the kid so it is a reasonable guess. He wants to experiment, not sure if we will do that. Second kid , staying with mother, got hold of prime drinks for a week and developed uti . Could be coincidence also, but some evidence beginning to stack up. Will see.

    I'd actually love to get a breakdown by political views of those on carnivore. My suspicion is that the number of libertarians would be quite high, and I'd be in that number. I think a distrust of government makes it way easier to see how beneficial carnivore is to the human body. Others, who still trust government completely, would probably have a much harder time being convinced that the government would put out dietary guidelines that are slowly killing them, so they'd avoid ever going carnivore just because of what government "experts" tell them.

    QUESTION; today my doctor tells me there is no such thing as a fasting insulin test as I requested. She said she is testing C peptide and a GAD test. Is GAD same as fasting insulin test? What is the code for a fasting insulin test? She is claiming I maybe heading for 1.5 diabetes. This is so frustrating. Any thoughts? My A1C is stuck at 5.9 twice now despite 6 months carnivore.

      The PPIs are some of the worst things you can be on, since it will keep you from absorbing nutrients and you need acid to break down your foods. I was on them for many years unfortunately and it caused several nutrient deficiencies. Betaine HCL and digestive enzymes have been helping me through my recovery.
