@@Heidishereandthere Hi Heidi! I eat Beef, bacon, eggs and use butter. I also eat some chicken/pork. I drink a couple of cups of coffee a day. I also fast for 17 hours. Very easily. My starting weight was 170 and my weight now is 166. So, more girth lost than weight. My A1c went from a 14 to 6.9. My blood sugar reading is now usually 100, not 274 like it used to be. My brother was vegetarian then vegan from age 17 to 64----his health went steadily down hill because he ate alot of grains and fake processed "meat" and "cheese" imposters, He was told over and over by his doctor that he needed to stop the fake soy stuff, the grains, and eat mostly meat (a doctor worth listening too, like Dr. Berry). He finally got to the point that he was so sick of being sick so started with eating eggs, then fish/seafood, now he eats all meats. He is keto and the change in his looks (weight loss) and all around health is AMAZING.

To the person with trigger finger: I'm a retired reflexology. I was diagnosed with trigger thumbs by my MD after complaining about the pain. He sent me to an orthopedic doctor and he said they could fix it by cutting the tendon. I said I would have to think about it. That could have been the end of my career. I happened to mention this to a chiropractor friend. He said he could probably help, so I went to his office. He gave me 4 red light therapy treatments and my thumbs healed. I have not had a problem since and that was over 10 years ago. I would investigate that option before having surgery. If it doesn't work, you can still have surgery.

They don't cut the tendon, they remove scar tissue from the canal to allow the tendon to move as it once did. I just had surgery a little over two weeks ago and my finger is radically better. The important thing is to find a good hand specialist.

My sugar addiction began the day I was born. In 1961, it was common practice in maternity wards to supplement the formula given to babies with sugar water. In order to get the babies on a 4 hour feeding schedule, they would give sugar water in between. Breastfeeding back then was something that only poor women did. When my kids were born, in the 1980s, I breastfed them (to my mother's horror). I even breastfed my twins until they were 13 months old. I did not want my children to have the same issues with food that I have had all my life. None of them have ever had a weight problem the way that I have.

Dr Berry, you mentioned that trigger finger cannot go away with PHD. Actually, I was advised to have surgery on my trigger thumb just before starting the PHD. I wore a splint for months before that so it wouldn't get stuck, especially while sleeping. After being in nutritional ketosis for about 3 months, I began to forget to put the splint on, and realized I was forgetting because it wasn't triggering any more. I no longer wear the splint and my right thumb is now just a flexible as my left as always been. No surgery needed!!

Canadian living in Germany here. I started eating keto (or at least leaving out all breads, sugars, rice, potatoes) about a month ago. Meat, eggs and veggies mainly. Limited processed foods, like salami or others. A friend suggested it to try to shrink a fibroid that is growing in the wall of my uterus. The results have been surprisingly good. Am loosing weight, my teeth feel cleaner, and I feel pleasantly full after eating. But the sweets craving after a meal! That's been really hard to get over!

I started keto and got sick and that’s how I found you and a few other doctors and people who know what they were talking about. In 8 1/2 months I’ve lost 119 pounds and I’ve gotten off of blood pressure medication completely. I’m still a mess but I’m definitely moving in the right direction. I’ve been on tons of diets including Jenny Craig and others that you pay a lot of money for the only time I was ever lose weight was with my doctor had meeting 900 cal a day and I was sick the whole time, this works and it fixes your heart.
I don’t do calories anymore and I wouldn’t say I do keto either, I’ve never bothered measuring ketones I just started eating correctly and it’s healthy healthy as I could I did it extremely clean for about 90 days and I still keep it pretty clean but give myself a little wiggle room to keep it maintainable and it’s working. It’s not really a diet you just change how you live and learning about what these foods do to you changes your addictions and love of them. Are used to love pizza and bread but I pretty much eat none of it now, the occasional three or four carb tortillas but even that has a little vital wheat gluten in it so I do it sparingly. I love what you say about the real foods. Even with the keto brands add low carb brands most of them are still full of garbage and I just don’t get them and I’m just getting used to the Whole Foods and making my own. It’s definitely a transition physically mentally and inhabit but it’s working and it’s worth it

@@christianlords1340 i’ve been thinking about it. I take magnesium and potassium supplements because no matter what I eat I can’t get enough of it. It actually took me about five or six weeks to become fat adaptive and a good couple more months before my body really got used to it but I’ll probably do a full carnivore once or twice a year just to detox. I think the vegetables are good but I pretty much only green leafy vegetables in cruciferous vegetables with a little bit of tomato and onions and some squash and cauliflower. I’ve also started sprouting but I’ll probably do full carnivore a couple times a year just to fully detox. All in all I’m doing great though

Dang. I missed the live. I am restarting keto(ish) tomorrow. I wasn’t prepared the first time. I followed the wrong people. This time I am keeping it more of a paleo keto. In other words I am keeping it real. The only thing I have to keep in is at least one gluten thing a day y til my scope on May 6 because my GI wants to see if I have celiac. Sucks but I think I have just enough Ezekiel bread to have one piece a day u til then. Once that sucker is over it’s full keto.

The only question I have is this: how did Dr. Berry get to look so much, much, much, much better than he did five years ago? I know his answer will be keto and then carnivore. I'm going back on carnivore for these reasons: can't stand the bloat of fibre and carbs; can't stand the rosacea pimples that come back with fibre; can't stand the swollen ankles and pain in joints with fibre and carbs. I also can appreciate the ease of eating meat/eggs/fish/fat = no decision fatigue as to what to eat when 'variety' is the only goal. Thanks for this video. It has reinforced my commitment.

Starting a proper human diet can't hurt. Eat fatty meats preferably from ruminants, other mammals like porc, if you are going to eat poultry duck is the best, some fish (fatty like salmon, also trout, sardines, code liver), eggs (if you don't tolerate them, try to eat only the yolk), eat some veggies (you can cut out the veggies later), no seed oils and no vegetable oils (use animal fats instead, like lard, duck fat, beef tallow, butter and/or ghee), organ meats once a week (if you love them), avoid dairy, eat some sea salt to balance your electrolytes, no sweeteners, drink preferably only water... Carnivore saved my life, no more inflammation ! (I don't take meds - meds messed up with my health - and I don't take supplements).

I noted that after tracking intake for a while, my protein intake was about 45-50%. My ribeye's didn't have enough fat? My glucose fasting was over 100 (usually 110-120) daily only eating meat and eggs. I was "peeing ketones" at a very low rate eating such high proteins, but I do not think I was getting enough fat. Any thoughts on this? I have dropped back down to an 80/20 ratio and fasting sugar this am was 88.
