I was a big fan of ranch dressing. To get away from the seed oils and MSG in almost all brands, I bought all the spices that are used to make ranch, mixed those together and add that to sour cream or yogurt to make my own ranch.

There are a few doctors that stress eating these foods regardless of whether they are organic or not is still tremendously better than the processed crap most of us were eating before. It’s not in a lot of people’s budgets to buy organic pasture raised foods when you are trying to feed a family on a budget. Don’t let the idea of only purchasing organic pasture raised foods keep you from making a switch to keto or carnivore, I don’t purchase them and my numbers have improved dramatically in just six months and so has my weight. Eat healthy and what you can afford.

I'm 64 5'10 173 and still pumping iron. But I was at 205 and knew that I could lose 30, 35 pounds. I cut almost all carbs and eat more meat. I always had dessert at night my whole life ,even if it was a big bowl of sugary cereal. I lost the weight and now treat myself to some peanut butter cups on the weekend and I have been able to control it and look forward to my weekend treat after going 5 days without it. It's better to have a cheat day or weekend or else chances are high that you will fall back into doing it everyday. The secret is ... only have enough treats to last 1 or 2 days . Or you will want what's sitting around.

My breakfast super simple and tasty sardine recipe: take your fav brand of sardines in water, drain it, and replace it with a mix of balsamic vinegar and soy sauce. I know soy sauce isn't the most healthy but you're not eating that much of it and its way better than the oil or hot sauce or mustard they also pack in sardines. And if you don't want the soy just do all vinegar then, but it tastes way better with a bit of soy sauce in there. Just let it marinate in the tin for 5 minutes and it is delicious. The tangy and salty combo completely masks the fishiness that comes with sardines in water. Been doing this for almost a year nearly every single morning along with a hamburger patty or pork steak and I still have yet to get sick of it

Unfortunately there are few states where you can buy raw dairy in a store. I don't know how expensive raw dairy is in a grocery store, but I'm sure it's cheaper than the way we have to buy it in Colorado. Here, you have to buy a "share" of a cow, and then pay ridiculously high prices for the milk. Plus, you have to drive to the farm to get it. About a 2 hour drive for me to the closest farm that sells raw dairy.

Watch the UA-cam video about eggs. He compared the most expensive eggs to the cheapest. Color, Texture, taste, nutrition. There basically is no difference. It came down to if you are worried about how the chickens were treated. If you can buy farm fresh eggs that's where the difference is. Not in a grocery store.

~~ I tried getting "pork belly" because technically, that is bacon without all the processing or added ingredients like nitrites and nitrates. But I did not like it. It tastes no different than a slice of ham. SO I went back to eating Black Label or Smithfield thick cut bacon.
~~ I don't eat alot of cheese but when I do, I do not shred it myself. Gotta change that.
~~ I don't drink alot of milk. But drinking store bought milk means I just get probiotics elsewhere. But I am intrigued to try A2 milk. Does it come in gallon form?
~~ I use organic extra virgin olive oil. I sometimes use avocado oil or coconut oil. However, I cook my German Shepherd 1 egg and 1 slice of bacon in the morning so I cannot use anything but the grease form the bacon or coconut oil.
~~ I usually get wild caught fish but you also have to make sure it is not a product of China. Read the labels.
~~ I buy skipjack tuna in water.
~~ For supplements, I look for the logo that has an approval from USP. Some don't require it and this young lady is right, don't take something unless you actually have a deficiency according to bloodwork or it could be a big negative.
~~ I tend to waste my yogurt. I usually get Lite & fit. Low sugar and low fat...however, I prefer full fat and its hard to find. But I have heard the one that says 5% is actually the full fat.
~~ Primal Kitchen just doesn't make a product large enough and the small quantity costs more. And why exactly is Mayo so naughty?
~~ I can only afford conventional eggs right now but I occasionally get eggs from a family friend who gets them straight from her chickens. I even have to clean off the poo!

I love sardines but I've found if I eat more than a tin per week, they'll trigger a gout flare up. Sadly, I just eliminated them altogether to avoid the issue.

I even quit with the coconut oil. Coconut is a seed, isn't it?
If I need any kind of cooking oil I use butter or bacon fat.
I never realized there was so much to watch for in milk. My wife and I stopped drinking it at the turn of the millennium.
As Sally Brown complained, "It's all full of ingredients!"
I don't care what color the egg shells are. I care about the color of the yolks. I want the orange ones. That means "free range." That's where all the vitamins are.
Bacon is wonderful, and one of my main staples. I'm there for the fat.
Farm-sourced is best, the less processed, the better.

Coconuts are classified as a fibrous one-seeded drupe. A drupe is a fruit with a hard stony covering enclosing the seed (like a peach or olive).

Orange yolks mean nothing. Alot of egg producers put dyes in the feed to color the yolks. Also, free range and pasture raised are to different things.
