Lillie, a separate note. My granddad lived to 96 I think it was and ate eggs every morning up to near the end of his life. His doctors become concerned about his cholesterol and for that reason prevailed upon him to stop eating eggs (he wasn't happy about it). I'm not certain exactly how much longer he lived, but lets just say it wasn't a long time, a year maybe? Anyway, Granddad DIDN'T die from cholesterol or heart disease. Who knows, maybe he'd still be kicking it if he'd kept eating the eggs. Thanks for all you do! :)
Cholesterol levels are affected by grains. I quit grains and all the cholesterol panel dropped 30 points. Triglycerides especially.
I was told when I was pregnant to eat less eggs & shrimp bc of my cholesterol but they didn’t have anything to say about all the white bread. It’s crazy
@@Chefgrlangel it's so crazy cause it's completely normal for cholesterol to go up during pregnancy but they'll tell you to stop foods with cholesterol as if that was causing it to go up!
I’d be curious to see what the micronutrients are I a cup of homemade raw milk kefir.
Peace for your granpaps. High cholesterol is linked with longevity. Basically every doctor is an unknowing schill for big pharma. Eggs are one of the best superfoods out there. Power to his sense of taste :)
My brain hurts now 😂 Two years meat based and I still just want beef…bacon, eggs and limited dairy. Seafood, pork (other than the bacon)and chicken just don’t taste good. IDK 🤷♂️ so far I’m still feeling great….
Wonderful! Eggs are like a multivitamin. They are second to beef liver! If you've got eggs in the diet, I bet you're in pretty good shape :)
@@LillieKaneHi Lillie, I just found your channel, and I just started a carnivore diet about a week ago. Would you say that sardines are just as good as eggs or liver to get your micronutrients in? I actually like eggs and sardines but I am still on the fence about liver although I do intend to try it. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Liver is frikin delish ! Eat it ☺️☺️☺️
@@elloohno1349 I will, for sure.
hope you enjoy! Pate is quite easy to make and with the butter and cream is a good way to get more acquired to the taste of the liver and can be frozen too if you make a lot. (keeping in mind iron absorption is effected by dairy) Bacon also works great with it or smaller pieces hidden in mince meat.
A traditional way to lessen the strong taste is to soak in milk for a few hours before cooking with onions. Keeping it pink in the middle is ideal and keeps the texture from going dry. And another tip if you don't like the idea or taste of eating it, is to make DIY liver capsules, which is technically liver cut in tiny pieces, flash frozen and then packed together to freeze, you can take out a few pieces and swallow them like a natural multivitamin. Eating it raw like that also provides more B vitamins as far as I know. @@nickbuis3307 I've done all these things and these days I love it just very quickly cooked in lots of butter with cumin seeds :D I've definitely acquired the taste after hating it my whole life.
My mother is 97 eat everything. It's the Dr's that makes us sick, and yes carnivore is the best, 💕🌍
How the hell does this channel not have at least 2 million subscribers? Come on people
I starved myself fat and sick on 1200 low fat, high fibre calories a day for decades. Had an active job and went to the gym daily. Barely fit a size 18. So called healthy diet.
Change to the old 1950s British diet in the prologue. Lost weight and gained health.
I do take liver capsules as I hate liver, cod liver oil and vitamin K2.
What diet is that?
Thanks! Seen a few of your videos now, as I traverse the carnivore trail and you make all this new information very easy to digest! The entertaining education is the best 🎉 also, I really appreciate how open minded you are and honest about your experience never saying it’s THE experience! Also, having conversations with other UA-camrs, exploring carnivore and healthier ways to approach diet and exercise, and they all love you, because of your honesty and humor, at the very least. Again since I’ve watched a few videos and learned so much so quickly it’s felt like a personal session and happy to donate! ❤
Wow, thank you so much for your generosity and uplifting message. I am so glad you've been enjoying the content thus far and have found it helpful. I try to create content based off the questions I get during my coaching sessions and this is a topic I have explained "off camera" to clients several times that I thought it was something everyone should hear or relearn. Thanks again for your support and for the big smile! I hope you have a great week and keep shining your light!

You are on another level Lilly!
You keep it pithy/on point, visually and historically interesting, upbeat and fun!!!
Swing, BAM! Going, going? GONE!!!! That one was knocked out of the ballpark!!!! Fantastic info and so we’ll structured! Thank you!!
Bing bang boom. Microphone drop! Haha thanks for the smile!
LILLIE! Honestly, you guys have really upped your game. Everything about this video: the contents; the editing; the music; the graphics… This is absolutely fantastic. It doesn't get any better anywhere on the interwebs. Well done!!
When I was on keto (my version of a healthy keto) I ate a huge spinach salad every day along with almond flour desserts and pizza. After three years I got the worst kidney stones. Had to have surgery. No more oxalates for me!
Oxalate will go if cooked
@@joanneclark8256 no. They get slightly reduced but not removed. Per Sally Norton. She has lists of foods raw and cooked, and even things like avocados that are not ripe versus ripe.
@@joanneclark8256Also eating spinach every day is total overkill. People don't understand balance.
Mission impossible: Don't eat oxalate for a quarter year and purge it from your body.
Even trace oxalate from black pepper can prevent the body from purging these harmful crystals. Gayeeee
I hope u don't blame keto for that!
I didn’t think your videos could get any better but you are NAILING IT! Best of the best. Thank you.💕
What a huge compliment, thank you so much!!! Have a smiley day :)
OMG you are such a high energy thorough thinker. And I am slow, physically and mentally. And old. But I appreciate you. I just cut the speed of the video down to 75% and I'm good. Slow appreciation good.
Nailed it girl. Finally someone gets it
Lilly this video is fantastic - from the info to the editing!
What is often also missed in the "track your macros" camp is that macros aren't created equal either.
For example, a 100g of fat from soybean oil isn't the same as 100g of fat from butter; 50g of protein from pea protein isn't the same as 50g of whey protein; and 200g of carbs from high fructose corn syrup has a different effect than 200g of carbs from a potato.
Thanks Kevin! We are looking forward to hanging out this weekend!
@@LillieKane Same! (forecast is 71 degrees!)
Considering this a mostly carnivore diet with nutritional yeast sounds the best to me. Microbial life derived nutrients are awesome too. Plants suck :)
Girl, that was awesome. I can tell you put a lot of thought and effort into that video and just know it is greatly appreciated! Thank YOU!
Good morning SUNSHINE, from Copperhill Tn. Keep teaching us how to improve our health!!!!!
Good morning! Have a beautiful day!
Hey from Bell Buckle, Tn!
Great presentation and fast. I am 83 and about 3 months ago I changed my diet along the lines you expressed. I had weight gain along with glucose, triglycerides and cholesterol issues due to new meds. I had those under control prior to the meds. Following a regimen similar to the guidelines you listed I have dropped 17 lbs and getting close to my goal. Next blood work will tell the tale. Wife dropped some too and is complaining her clothes don't fit.
I love your energy, knowledge, and spirit. You bring so much joy to my day! And, seeing your responses to people's comments...Bryce is a really lucky man! You are just precious!
I started supplementing vitamin A (1 capsule of 10k IU a day) and already after 2 weeks I couldn't believe how much more sharp and bright my vision is getting. I thought it was impossible but seeing how my eye health is improving with adding more nutrients (vitamin A in this case) is the proof that nutrition is the foundation for our health.
I also started to eat more protein and fats (liver, steaks, typically 2 eggs a day, fish oil for Omega-3, two cups of milk and 400 grams of yogurt a day, etc) and my hormones finally started to balance: my periods are regular and significantly less painful, my mood is more stable, I don't feel hungry all the time. I am still overweight (not obese, but I carry a lot of fat and not enough muscle) but it seems like my metabolism is also getting better!
Lillie, thank you for all the information you provide, it's helping me a lot! Thank you from the bottom of my heart! 💟
I think carrying alittle, 5 to 10 pounds or more, extra body fat is insurance for hard times and illness. Plus, i think it looks better too.
I hear one carrot a day is all you need, but I haven't tested that, but nutritionists told me that.
Hi what supplement is ME, thank you
Hi which vitamin A, I need to buy ?
@@yolandasilva1921 Sorry, I wrote it incorrectly and edited now. I meant to say I take 10k IU (International Units) of vitamin A a day (only 1 capsule because vitamin A can be toxic for liver in larger amounts).
Brilliant video. Thank you Lillie - your message of having a more holistic, realistic and balanced view of nutrition is so refreshing compared to a lot of other content out there! 🙂
This helps a lot, and you are by far the most informative of all those that I subscribe to for advice on carnivores. I kind of which you were Canadian as we are getting hosed by the government here on good health.
What a huge compliment…thank you! After I finished editing this video and watched it back I was like “holy smokes I covered a lot of information in 14 minutes”…no time wasted here! Ha!
Have a great week ahead!
This is so true, i was eating only lean meat plus 2 sticks of butter and i was gaining weight.

Always enjoy your sensical videos. My VA doctor suggested I go to a more plant based diet. I have aczema all over my body and according to research it is a GUT issue. I am a homeless 79 y.o. handicapped Veteran. I eat TMAD. Meal one is 4 scrambled eggs and 6 slices of bacon Meal 2 was 6 steakburgers at Steak & Shake. I have changed that to 16 ozs of Taco Meat. This was terrific! Thank you Lillie
Wow. Excellent video, Lillie! Thanks for all the explanation....I get it now!
Here's my issue: I've been on ketovore for about 1 1/2 months now and feel like I'm doing good, but I'm struggling to hit 1,300 calories most days while so many people talk about eating over 2k. I haven't been dieting all these years to have my body "used" to eating low calories or anything, but I'm honestly full with 1,2-1,3k calories each day. Week days I usually eat beef, steak & bacon along with drinking electrolytes with dinner. Weekends I do eggs, cheese, shellfish and fish.
Are you losing weight?
@@amandakreshalove Yes.
@@keepingit4realare you 6 years old?
Well if you have weight to lose then that's why you're not hungry, your body is burning fat! @@keepingit4real
If you’re loosing more weight then you need to I would add some high calories things like heavy cream or butter or add full fat yogurt or cottage cheese for some more calories
Really well done! Good job comparing all of those nutritional facts!

Smart woman for sure. U should be the health minister in Canada instead of the typical no-health ministers
Love this video. Every other animal based channel I've seen glazes over the importance of all the other nutrients. And in the FB groups people are like no, you can just eat steaks every day and you don't need any supplements. Ya ok... Personally, I prefer to optimize how I feel by getting the right nutrients. I do take quite a bit of supplements, but I'm coming from a depleted state (thank you PPIs and antibiotics).

Bryce and that beautiful editing! Another masterpiece!
I started clean eating several months ago. Calories do not matter. What matters is eating healthy, and focusing on micronutrients and nutrient dense foods. I eat organic produce, pasture raised animal products, healtht animal fats, no refined sugar, no bad oils, and no gluten. I'm not even that active of a person, but over the last several months, I've been consistently losing weight, and getting stronger.
Such great information(and loads of it) and I'm really impressed with the editing on this one. Great job guys!
Amazing video. The way you present this information is just fantastic, inspires more thought and easy to absorb. One of the best resources I can show my Mother and help me articulate myself better on the matter
"This one good detail keeps you fat and sick"
Because Glyphosate !
The BIG QUESTION is, how much of those micros are actually bioavailable in the plant food...?
It's definitely less, with a wide range.
Anti-nutrients are very insidious.
Also the processing of carbs themselves for energy uses up much and many more micro-nutrients than burning fat.
In addition, the many chemicals found in plants that are non essential to our bodies can be problematic, especially with consistent exposure.
These plant chemicals pressing levers in our bodies should be treated as medicine not food.
We are obligate carnivores that have managed to harness the random non animal chemicals of nature. Then got carried away and lost in the sauce.
@@Yamaazaka I completely agree with you. This info is exactly why I posted the question because I think her list on this is not good, especially for those with auto immune issues, which I'm sure are caused by the over saturation of plant food in most people's diet. She failed to include the anti nutrients that would significantly reduce what is in those plant foods along with the fact that those plant foods don't contain those nutrients as bioavailable numbers and increase the amount people would need to consume from animal food, all while impacting the bodies ability to properly function to its optimum.
@@Soulja4ChristWeAreAtWarwow
The only thing about the vegetables on the micronutrient density is that they arent very bioavailable. Plus the one on vitamin K references K1 which animal foods have K2 which is easily converted to K1 but the opposite isnt true.
Damn! You killed it on this video! Bravo!!! Definitely saved to share.
Your video editing is getting so good!!
Thanks Lillie. Great video. Loved the edit. You guys really do all that yourselves? Congratulations. It was awesome 💯
wow! What a slam dance of information. As a carnivore I hit my magnesium through supplementation instead of 4 cups of collard greens. I also think that blood type diets are important. I plateaued until I eliminated pepper, chicken, pork (won't give up my bacon), shellfish as a B blood type.
How does that work
I'm b+ blood type also. I eat shrimp/chicken/pork everyday and I love all peppers and spicy.
How is that supposedly affecting me
Heres a fair comparison. I eat like your first day now at 200 pounds. The bad diet day I ate granola bars, fruit juice and avoided fat, which was less calories, and I weighed 270. I switch from a sugar based diet to a fat based diet and lost all the extra weight.
I agree with about 90% of your information. The 10% is big though. I do not agree with carbs are a fuel source for energy. Glucose (NOT FRUCTOSE!) is the energy powerhouse. That is created by the liver. The liver produces glucose in levels only what we need, not counting sleeping (can go high). Carbs on the other hand raise glucose that have to be knocked down with insulin from the pancreas. That causes food cravings and constantly feeling hungry, and then back to low energy. Not to mention insulin resistance. I am speaking from my own experience of a roller coaster of blood sugar level problems most of my 63 years on earth. I know this goes beyond the scope of this video, but I thought important to mention.
Well yeah.. Carbs are just multiple sugars. Imo you don't actually disagree. It's just a shorthand to say carbs are energy.
Some carbs are fine, just avoid grains. I lost weight reintroducing fruit after years avoiding it
@@vanessac1965 There is an absolute distinction between simple and complex carbs. My point still is they are not required for energy. As far as reintroducing fruit and loosing weight. There may be other changes in your diet or other factors that may have contributed to that. Too many variables. You have a correlation, not a causation.
If you want to hit your micro nutrient targets without carbs or plant material, supplementing with trace minerals may be the way to go. Cheap and readily available, and no plant defense chemicals.
Great video, thank you! This is an interesting theory for stubborn fat retention. Over the years I've suspected that preservatives in food also preserve one's fat on their body. I just imagine those chemicals making our own fat harder to dissolve.
Wow! Excellent project. Very informative. I understand food tracking, done that most of my dieting life. I follow Carnivore because I don’t need to. Love your final catch piece. 😁
Thanks, Lillie!❤
Have a happy day!
Thank you for such an informative and well presented video! You had my attention the whole way through. Love your work 👏 thank you!
The problem with this video is that if it's true, it completely discredits Shawn Baker because he eats nothing like Lillie and isn't getting the micronutrients she pointed out. I'm 83 and going to stick with my Follow the money mentality. For what it's worth, I actually eat a little of everything Lillie showed in this video my whole life including the Oreos and Doritos.
Anyone else hear her list off what she generally eats in a day and start drooling drooling 🤤
The only veggies I eat these days are either fermented or consumed as dried spices cooked on meat. I'm open to changing my mind, but as of now, I can tell you that I've never been healthier. I went pescatarian at age 10, then was a vegan in college & for many yrs after. I only gave it up when my husband & I couldn't coceive a viable pregnancy in our mid twenties.. having dove down several rabbit-holes later, I've settled on an (approximate) paleo-keto diet. Meanwhile, the family members who thought I was crazy to go vegan 20 yrs ago are all going vegan now & looking down on my animal product consumption 😂
Whatever. Some of us are forever finding ourselves on a divergent path, I guess..
I sometimes use the "custom food" feature in Cronometer by inputting the nutrition facts on the label of that particular food. But the problem is that the nutrition label typically just includes a few of the main micronutrients in the product. Therefore, you're not going to get the full spectrum of micronutrients that likely are present in that food. Hence the Cronometer "tally" is going to be incomplete and inaccurate.
I use Carb Manager which has the exact same problem. None of the foods listed are entirely accurate because the vast majority of micronutrients are not disclosed. Even common foods such as beef steak or chicken have dashes for well known micronutrients.
Very insightful ❤
Thank you 🥰
I use Chronometer to track my nutrients to rebuild my blood after chemotherapy infusions. However, immunotherapy (Keytruda) destroyed my thyroid and probably some pancreas functions. I watched my blood protein levels go below the normal level even though I was a carnivore. I now take digestive enzymes to ensure I actually get both my protein and my nutrients. 😋
Very well produced and informative. Bravo! 👍
Amazing :Lilly you put so much work into your success and it works for you 👍💥
Wow, love this video. Really provided exact info I have been wanting. This & your breakdown of proteins is fantastic! I was at a home party last night & my body wanted the protein, offered, more. I did have a small piece of apple pie but loved the other "good for me" foods more. 😀. Thanks, Lillie, for breaking it all down & sharing what you do!
Great work Lillie
Outstanding video. Thank you.
Wow! Lillie this video is amazing. Eye opener! Thank you. 💚
Brilliant, Lillie! Another banger!
Love the new videos! Always great content but now, great video production!
I 😍 milk . And keep over a years supply of nonfat dry milk. Milk, chicken, beef ,some white rice ,a little Bushes baked beans sometimes, strawberries because they are a lower carbed fruit, butter ,coffee honey, lots of water, some pork, seafood .No bread or very limited pasta... I'm 63 5'10 170 workout and lost 37 pounds recently. I don't watch my calories. I just watch the scale and it's not changing. And I don't watch my micro nutrients either. I know I'm getting plenty of protein and what I need.
“Plus or minus a kidney stone” LOL😂
If you eat Grilled Skinless Chicken Breast with Salad 2 or 3 times a day will you lose weight ?... YES but NOT for the reasons that it's "Low Calories & Amazingly Healthy" like most Dietitians tell you, it's because that "Healthy" meal is so low in Nutrition that your Body will use stored Body Fat to survive.
I actually really enjoy liver. I look forward to it. Medium is best.
You can really see why Orcas sometimes just rip livers out of poor seals and discard the rest
Wow thank you for the "food supplement" chart, straight to the camera roll
You’re so knowledgeable and detailed … and HILARIOUS 😂 😂😂
Thanks Lillie! I love comparison videos. I have Hashimoto’s, low d, low b12, low iron and low ferritin and can’t loose weight to save my life. When I do animal based even over 2k calories I have to supplement because even if I hit all my rdas I’m still low. I think this is because I have a lot of autoimmune diseases and inflammation increases how much your rda needs to be. Obviously leaky gut or any gut issues would affect this as well. Very informative video. ❤
Thank you for sharing this! I also supplement with some important micros that I just can't get enough of from food. Thanks for sharing this for others to read and learn from. Have a great week!

She had (remission 🎉) Hashimotos etc and she's thriving . ✔️ em out if not ✌️
@@BriarRoseA thank you my friend. I appreciate it. I hope your journey is swift and healing.
@@yelizaveta1278 thank you for the recommendation. I’ve actually followed those two longer than Lillie. They were my intro into carnivore/animal based. My Hashimoto’s is a little different than Neishas. I originally had Graves’ disease as a child and my thyroid was radiated so it’s been much more difficult to heal in this specific area. Also, I’ve been doing carnivore/animal based for years. I think I must just have a lot more healing to do than Neisha in general and that’s okay. I was a sick child and was on about of antibiotics and was raised on a super crappy diet of ramen, macaroni and cheese and cereal. I have also always lived in moldy places so healing from CIRS too. It’s a journey for sure. I appreciate you looking out though because you never know.
My issue with micronutrients is that there is so much at play that determines how much you eat and how much you need. You can eat your RDA for iron from spinach and end up being deficient or eat it from beef liver and be good to go. I feel that it is almost a waste of time to track and it is better to just experiment with different foods to see how you feel and follow it up with blood tests since none of us know if we are the healthiest that we can be.
Another video just shared, excellent and informative, thanks Lillie 👍❤️
Great production well done
Love your videos. Thx for that!! Watching from switzerland. ❤
What a great video. You're really growing on me.
First off, let me say I love your channel and thank you for all the great information much appreciated. With that being said, my wife and I have been on the carnivore for 10 months and we both feel amazing her 40 myself 51. It’s funny when I tell people of my diet choices. Everyone always says you’re going to give yourself high cholesterol and put yourself at risk for a heart attack. So to properly defend myself I did a lot of research to educate myself where this miss information came from if anyone is interested look up a doctor name, Ancel keys.side note proctor, and gamble, funded the creation of the American heart association makers of Crisco.
Yay, so glad you're enjoying the content but even more so, happy to read you and your wife are feeling fantastic eating a meat based diet. Yes, Angel Keys didn't have our best health interest in mind...yikes! Have a fantastic week!
10 months represents about 1-1/2% of your entire life. Measuring and predicting your health based on 1-1/2% of your entire life would hardly be considered valid data. We have known for 100 yrs that eating animal protein will raise cholesterol which is associated with increased risk of heart disease. To say it doesn't is not only misinformation, it's cholesterol denialism.
Amazing!!! Thank you Lillayy!!
For me I figured out by end results to how many times I visited the rest room before becoming 100% carnivore. What I have realized all those visit where, my body telling me it want that sh*t out of me. Now, I process everything down the way it's suppose to naturally.
Been carnivore today 4 mo's and 6 days.. the results are so numerus It would take 2 hours of typing the results. Ultimately I've reversed a ton o things that doctors would tell you are normal and to just except it...I didn't/don't and never will.. they need the money, you don't have to give into them and pay for it. Eat your way clean
🎉for your video production
Thank you! Many days of editing 😅
This was always a question in the back of my mind...thank you! Now I wonder what tests I can take...
I’m not sure why people don’t understand this…
Woo hoo, fun video Lillie, you are rocking in this one. I've never tracked my micros, though I DO track my protein and get 1 gram protein (or more) per pound ideal body weight. Butter is my fat of choice and I eat eggs pretty much every day. I eat a little cheese and have yogurt in the fridge though I don't eat it often. Honestly, beef is maybe the only food my body ever yearns for (laughing to myself at this). Blessings to you and your loved ones. Cheers! :)
Yes, I'm still kind of new to Carnivore/Ketovore, but I've gotten to where I can't hardly go a day without beef of some kind....steak or burger!
I added 12oz plain pasta to my diet. Same caloric daily intake. Gained 6lbs in 7 days from inflammation.
Thank you so much. I love your content and have learned so much from you. 😊
Thank U so much for explaining everything as blunt as U can!!!! I be tryin' to listen to "other" health coaches but they get tooooooo scientific and speak more on medical terms that I literally get lost in their lingo😅.
