    Lillie, a separate note. My granddad lived to 96 I think it was and ate eggs every morning up to near the end of his life. His doctors become concerned about his cholesterol and for that reason prevailed upon him to stop eating eggs (he wasn't happy about it). I'm not certain exactly how much longer he lived, but lets just say it wasn't a long time, a year maybe? Anyway, Granddad DIDN'T die from cholesterol or heart disease. Who knows, maybe he'd still be kicking it if he'd kept eating the eggs. Thanks for all you do! :)

      @@LillieKaneHi Lillie, I just found your channel, and I just started a carnivore diet about a week ago. Would you say that sardines are just as good as eggs or liver to get your micronutrients in? I actually like eggs and sardines but I am still on the fence about liver although I do intend to try it. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

      hope you enjoy! Pate is quite easy to make and with the butter and cream is a good way to get more acquired to the taste of the liver and can be frozen too if you make a lot. (keeping in mind iron absorption is effected by dairy) Bacon also works great with it or smaller pieces hidden in mince meat.
      A traditional way to lessen the strong taste is to soak in milk for a few hours before cooking with onions. Keeping it pink in the middle is ideal and keeps the texture from going dry. And another tip if you don't like the idea or taste of eating it, is to make DIY liver capsules, which is technically liver cut in tiny pieces, flash frozen and then packed together to freeze, you can take out a few pieces and swallow them like a natural multivitamin. Eating it raw like that also provides more B vitamins as far as I know. @@nickbuis3307 I've done all these things and these days I love it just very quickly cooked in lots of butter with cumin seeds :D I've definitely acquired the taste after hating it my whole life.

    Lilly this video is fantastic - from the info to the editing!
    What is often also missed in the "track your macros" camp is that macros aren't created equal either.
    For example, a 100g of fat from soybean oil isn't the same as 100g of fat from butter; 50g of protein from pea protein isn't the same as 50g of whey protein; and 200g of carbs from high fructose corn syrup has a different effect than 200g of carbs from a potato.

    I started supplementing vitamin A (1 capsule of 10k IU a day) and already after 2 weeks I couldn't believe how much more sharp and bright my vision is getting. I thought it was impossible but seeing how my eye health is improving with adding more nutrients (vitamin A in this case) is the proof that nutrition is the foundation for our health.
    I also started to eat more protein and fats (liver, steaks, typically 2 eggs a day, fish oil for Omega-3, two cups of milk and 400 grams of yogurt a day, etc) and my hormones finally started to balance: my periods are regular and significantly less painful, my mood is more stable, I don't feel hungry all the time. I am still overweight (not obese, but I carry a lot of fat and not enough muscle) but it seems like my metabolism is also getting better!
    Lillie, thank you for all the information you provide, it's helping me a lot! Thank you from the bottom of my heart! 💟

    • @Yamaazaka
      @Yamaazaka 10 місяців тому +2

      It's definitely less, with a wide range.
      Anti-nutrients are very insidious.
      Also the processing of carbs themselves for energy uses up much and many more micro-nutrients than burning fat.
      In addition, the many chemicals found in plants that are non essential to our bodies can be problematic, especially with consistent exposure.
      These plant chemicals pressing levers in our bodies should be treated as medicine not food.
      We are obligate carnivores that have managed to harness the random non animal chemicals of nature. Then got carried away and lost in the sauce.

      @@Yamaazaka I completely agree with you. This info is exactly why I posted the question because I think her list on this is not good, especially for those with auto immune issues, which I'm sure are caused by the over saturation of plant food in most people's diet. She failed to include the anti nutrients that would significantly reduce what is in those plant foods along with the fact that those plant foods don't contain those nutrients as bioavailable numbers and increase the amount people would need to consume from animal food, all while impacting the bodies ability to properly function to its optimum.

    The only thing about the vegetables on the micronutrient density is that they arent very bioavailable. Plus the one on vitamin K references K1 which animal foods have K2 which is easily converted to K1 but the opposite isnt true.

    I agree with about 90% of your information. The 10% is big though. I do not agree with carbs are a fuel source for energy. Glucose (NOT FRUCTOSE!) is the energy powerhouse. That is created by the liver. The liver produces glucose in levels only what we need, not counting sleeping (can go high). Carbs on the other hand raise glucose that have to be knocked down with insulin from the pancreas. That causes food cravings and constantly feeling hungry, and then back to low energy. Not to mention insulin resistance. I am speaking from my own experience of a roller coaster of blood sugar level problems most of my 63 years on earth. I know this goes beyond the scope of this video, but I thought important to mention.

    • @Yamaazaka

      @@vanessac1965 There is an absolute distinction between simple and complex carbs. My point still is they are not required for energy. As far as reintroducing fruit and loosing weight. There may be other changes in your diet or other factors that may have contributed to that. Too many variables. You have a correlation, not a causation.

    The only veggies I eat these days are either fermented or consumed as dried spices cooked on meat. I'm open to changing my mind, but as of now, I can tell you that I've never been healthier. I went pescatarian at age 10, then was a vegan in college & for many yrs after. I only gave it up when my husband & I couldn't coceive a viable pregnancy in our mid twenties.. having dove down several rabbit-holes later, I've settled on an (approximate) paleo-keto diet. Meanwhile, the family members who thought I was crazy to go vegan 20 yrs ago are all going vegan now & looking down on my animal product consumption 😂
    Whatever. Some of us are forever finding ourselves on a divergent path, I guess..

    I sometimes use the "custom food" feature in Cronometer by inputting the nutrition facts on the label of that particular food. But the problem is that the nutrition label typically just includes a few of the main micronutrients in the product. Therefore, you're not going to get the full spectrum of micronutrients that likely are present in that food. Hence the Cronometer "tally" is going to be incomplete and inaccurate.

    • @terised
      @terised 10 місяців тому +1

      I use Carb Manager which has the exact same problem. None of the foods listed are entirely accurate because the vast majority of micronutrients are not disclosed. Even common foods such as beef steak or chicken have dashes for well known micronutrients.

When I do animal based even over 2k calories I have to supplement because even if I hit all my rdas I’m still low. @@yelizaveta1278 thank you for the recommendation. I’ve actually followed those two longer than Lillie. They were my intro into carnivore/animal based. My Hashimoto’s is a little different than Neishas. I originally had Graves’ disease as a child and my thyroid was radiated so it’s been much more difficult to heal in this specific area. Also, I’ve been doing carnivore/animal based for years. I think I must just have a lot more healing to do than Neisha in general and that’s okay. I was a sick child and was on about of antibiotics and was raised on a super crappy diet of ramen, macaroni and cheese and cereal. I have also always lived in moldy places so healing from CIRS too. It’s a journey for sure. I appreciate you looking out though because you never know.

    My issue with micronutrients is that there is so much at play that determines how much you eat and how much you need. You can eat your RDA for iron from spinach and end up being deficient or eat it from beef liver and be good to go. I feel that it is almost a waste of time to track and it is better to just experiment with different foods to see how you feel and follow it up with blood tests since none of us know if we are the healthiest that we can be.

      10 months represents about 1-1/2% of your entire life. Measuring and predicting your health based on 1-1/2% of your entire life would hardly be considered valid data. We have known for 100 yrs that eating animal protein will raise cholesterol which is associated with increased risk of heart disease. To say it doesn't is not only misinformation, it's cholesterol denialism.
