If you enjoyed this interview, you're not going to want to miss this one with Dr. Tom Biernacki all about signs to look out for that you may have diabetes. He explains at home tests you can do using an ice cube to see if you have diabetes. Plus we cover how to get rid of toenail fungus. Greetings from Finland, 61 year behind, I had painful osteoporosis , being skinny, eating lots of oat, at 54 I was really sick, gave up the grains, took butter to give me energy, 8 weeks without grains, all the pain was gone. I was almost 2 years in carnivores but got too much cramping. I follow Paul Saladino's advice to eat under 200 g berries, apples, honey etc., cramps gone, feel more energy and ladies look quite beautiful again.

@@maddworld3317 on the carnivore diet you don’t have to limit how much you eat ,just what you eat. Your goals and individual genetics will dictate what you can include with meats and eggs. Some people have trouble with dairy or certain spices. I do supplement with a protein powder made from peas on workout days, apparently soy is full of estrogen so not good for men . I have also learned d3 with k2 is better and have added taurine.

This video is the perfect example of why people can't 100 percent follow other people when it comes to taking care of their bodies. Lilly is awesome because she always stated this is what works for her. But some people follow others and do exactly what they see them do. Then later on you see that person has changed their eating style and now you are shocked because you did everything they did. Watch the videos and take what is good for you and experiment. Learn your body and do what is best for you.

From that base there is flexibility as to what types of animal products and even if you can tolerate a small amount of carbs (veg/fruit). Loved seeing you two swap notes! Have been carnivore for over a year and joined Bella's Steak & Butter gang a year ago. Cannot stress how grateful I am for all I have learned, both in the meatings but also in the interviews with other experts in the field.
Would be interested to hear both of your thoughts on 1) extended fasting (according to the menstrual cycle), 2) eating fermented foods (dairy and things like kimchi, kvass-- not carni, I know!), and 3) the effects of high insulin and high fructose with regard to inflammation.
Butter Bob Briggs has tons of fantastic videos on fasting and insulin that I've learned from. Dr Mindy Peltz' insights into fasting for women (from one of your previous interviews, Bella) has been hugely transformational in how I think about fasting (which I previously avoided). And Nutrition with Judy introduced me to Dr Sean O'Mara, who is a godsend in terms of his health optimizing insights and research, particularly when it comes to fermented foods on carnivore, extended fasting, and introducing sprinting.
Fermented foods appear not only to have positive benefits for the mind-gut connection, but also in changing our bodies' cravings for sugar, which is largely driven by overgrowth of harmful bacteria, yeasts, etc. As an abstainer myself, I've found adding small amounts of ferments to each of my carnivore meals allows me to eat MORE and also has completely quelled my cravings for sugar/fruit.

Great discussion! I think with cravings, we need to factor in not only our emotional relationship to the foods, but our gut microbiome's influence as well. And to trust the wisdom of our bodies! Most important is to nourish ourselves fully so that our bodies don't need to scream for nutrition. I ate macrobiotic when I was in my teens and 20's, and it led to an eating disorder (restrict/binge/purge or obsessively exercise) because I was so married to the ideology that I couldn't see that my body was craving excess food because it was trying to survive the famine I'd imposed on it for so long! Once I "got" that, I stopped fighting my body and started trusting what it was asking for. By doing that I healed from compulsively eating and found peace with food, even years before finding keto and carnivore...

I think the hardest thing for a carnivore is being able to afford the meats they need to eat to get enough nutrients and calories and protein to sustain them. I've been a carnivore for 5 months and that has been the hardest thing. It's insane how expensive being healthy is! But I budget the best I can and hopefully one day meat will be more affordable. But I do applaud you two. You have been my inspiration throughout my journey and you help keep me motivated and on track! And for that I'm forever grateful to you both!

Yes, ground beef is cheaper. But eating it every day, gets tiring for some people. Others are good with eating the same thing over and over. But others, not so much. And the price of different meats make it difficult for some. It's sad how it's less expensive to eat junk food compared to healthy meats and even veggies.

I just made my son ground beef with a few veggies mixed in (he loves veggies) with a ton of butter and salt with a little herbs. It was absolutely delicious. I did have a little bit and it was SOO good. I haven't made it in a while and forgot how easy, cheap and simple this is. I told him when he is broke, this is a great meal. He agreed. Hubby had some when he got home from work too and he said it was really good. Meat heavy meals do not have to be expensive. Event tho meat is not cheap; it fills you up way more than any other food so in the end it ends up being cheaper than eating way more of other food. 🙂 We do drink a lot of raw milk; and that isnt cheap but all in all it works out because I dont buy any crap at all so it balances out.

This is absolutely true, but if you watch the sales and freeze things, you can do pretty well. Ground meat can become burgers, crumbles, meatballs, meatloaf. Pork shoulder regularly goes on sale for $0.99/lb. Chuck roasts can be cut in pieces and treated just the same as chuck steak (because that's all a chuck steak is anyway), or thag same chuck roast can go in the crock pot and be shredded. Most grocery stores sell bulk chicken, usually leg quarters or drumsticks, for less than $0.99/lb. My Kroger always has a 10 lb bag of leg quarters for $6.90. Ten pounds for $7! As the normal, everyday, non-sale price! Chuck roasts go on sale monthly for $3.77, ground beef once a month for $2.99. They also rotate through basically every other meat you could want (including the nice steaks) going on sale once a month or so. Watch that weekly ad, stock up, and then eat from the freezer, thawing a bit of this and that to still enjoy variety day to day.

Thank you, ladies! It was a perfect video for me, two women sharing their stories and growth along the journey, priceless! I am at around 3 months into my carnivore journey. It was easier at the beginning! 😊
Then, I stared to have leg cramps and always feeling hungry, people suggested I eat more fat, just add butter or bacon. That I tried to do, but butter is not my thing and I cannot stand bacon smell or pork.
I struggled big time until I found tallow! Tallow is my best friend now. The leg cramps went away, but being hungry all the time is not going away. What Bella said makes sense, my body is asking for more nutrients!
I watched Bella’s losing hair video yesterday.
Yep! I am losing chunks of hair. I am just concluding from that video and this video that I am not eating enough food. I was trying to do OMAD, but I cannot eat that much at once. I am now at 2 meals. I am thinking I need to try 3 meals and maybe 4 meals. I am so glad I listened to this video, maybe the male doctors are okay only eating 1 time a day, perhaps women need something different.
I am positive now, I am not eating enough.

Wonderful conversation ladies! I too have changed up my "carnivore" after a year. I was trying to, as Nutrition with Judy puts it "CARNIVORE HARDER!!"😂 whenever i ran into issues with weight or illness. Although ive enjoyed every single thing i eat, i just didn't want to be so restricted FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE. My therapist instructed me to go deeper into root cause healing. I found a new thyroid doctor who is very carnivore friendly (indeed hes quite anti medical establishment in general) and he put me on LDN. That, in combo with Carnivore diet, and other holistic practices (No refined sugars, mineral water, occasional supplements, NO SEED OILS, no industrial chemical cleaning products, perfumes, lotions, shampoo amd conditioner) all of it combined has helped me feel like my best self. And i got COVID-19 earlier this year! And dealt with the Long COVID post viral syndrome after. But I'm nearly 95% recovered today, thanks entirely to these specific healing protocols.

I have to be honest here and say that I'm 83 and have a lot of life experience with old timers and none of them spoke or did any of all of this. We sit during the week in McDonald's and Dunkin Donuts for years now and I'm actually the Youngster of the group. We have a portion of what we love and go for walks. And all of my old timer relatives before me did the same thing. They ate a portion of what they loved everyday and went for walks. Grandma was never running through the streets in yoga pants and worried about smoothies and powders. She had no gym membership or bottled water. She cooked and baked and ate a meal. Excess in anything is the enemy.

I should have healed by now. Goal weigh is 130. Scales say my lean mass is 100lbs so I think I need to build more muscle? But I’m active. Water ski a lot. It is so different for everyone. Before, when I cooked- there were BUZZARDS circling the house most of the time-- but I got an AIR FRYER- and use that- and I can cook ok now... so it's working-- finally. I gained a LOT of knowledge and experience from your videos-- YOU and Bella both... and I'm so glad to see the " evolution" to some things other than carnivore... because the BIBLE says- "ALL things are good- IF taken with praise and thanksgiving and in moderation!!"...

There is just no way I can eat 1 or 2 lbs of meat at a sitting. I eat until I'm full which is usually about a 1/2 lb of ground beef or 1/2 to 3/4 of a ribeye steak. I try to eat more but I just can't.
