I have vertigo too, for many years now, attacks come on and off. I used to have sinusitis too, which probably triggered it. I've read a lot about causes and what triggers these attacks. For me, it was stress, black coffee, lack of adequate drinking water, too much time working in front of a computer. I'd like to share about what is helping me deal with my vertigo attacks: exercises that help, like lying on a bed, and turning your head to the left while your eyes look to the right and vice versa. Avoid getting up suddenly from the bed, after you wake up. Also, make sure you sleep with your head elevated with pillows, but never on a flat bed or surface. Drinking Ginger tea, having Apple cider vinegar with honey in warm water 3 times a week, taking warm showers, avoid having too much coffee, make sure you have the correct posture while sitting before a computer, stay hydrated, have your eyes checked if you have vision problems, and best of all, take time out to relax, go on long walks, bask in warm sunshine, listen to music, indulge in your favorite hobby, stay positive at all times...Unless it's really required, visit your doctor for medication or treatment. Hope these tips help someone atleast 😊 🙏, I understand the fear and anxiety that most people may have when these attacks occur. Stay blessed. Love from India 🇮🇳

I started dealing with vertigo about 1.5 years ago. Once I had an attack that was so bad I thought I was having a stroke and got taken to hospital in an ambulance. When I got back, I was sleeping on an incline to avoid it, and developed terrible TMJ symptoms and tinnitus. It turned out I had BPPV in both ears. But did I???? I was still feeling very “floaty” for a couple months after having the Epley maneuver clear up one side and the Foster method clear the other side….
Then I saw a chiropractor. Years of poor posture (forward head posture, to be specific) and a neck injury I never got fixed caused a herniated disk in my neck, along with associated bone spurs. Every since I’ve been working with a chiropractor regularly, my symptoms have GREATLY IMPROVED.
I genuinely hope this helps someone who is a frequent sufferer of vertigo. Don’t count out a cervical spine issue for chronic vertigo. Sending empathy and hugs to everyone suffering from this frightening condition!!!!

I had my first vertigo attack at 15. I’ll be 18 in January. I’ve had attacks frequently since I first got diagnosed with bpv. It’s horrible and I’m thankful for this video that explains it all so well, my doctors never explained like this. Nothing really helps me when I get my attacks, not even the head movements my physical therapist prescribed me. I’ve been healthy all my life and it saddens me that I’m sicker and kind of weaker compared to my peers. Often stress triggers my attacks, but sometimes they can literally come out of the blue, sitting in my bed BAM, eating at a restaurant BAM, doing absolutely nothing BAM, and the attacks last very long, at least a few hours or days. I really don’t hope bpv follows me through my whole life..

I had extreme vertigo (20ish years ago) and was told by a doctor nothing you can do for it......here is some anti nausea medication. For me personally I worked out what was causing & bringing multiple episodes on a weekly basis. Not to get my ears wet, so no swimming with head under water, in the shower I have to be careful, no motorbike helmets and no head phones or ear muffs, I was living in a very humored climate at the time as well. When I stopped all these my vertigo is soooooo much better probably 95% better......I hope this helps someone :)

Many haven't talked about sleeplessness, which I experienced as one of the main reasons. Yesterday and once before also, I had this bloody attack which gave me a bitter experience. (now, I am 74 male and a loner) I couldn't sleep for whole of two consecutive days and nights during both the occasions and followed by this severe simptoms of vertigo - meaning, suddenly I couldn't get up from the chair wherein I was comfortably sitting and the world was reeling before me, accute headache, severe vomiting sensation, trembling, severe perspiration and fell down on the floor indoors. Somehow, timely I rose up to enter the restroom to vomit out. After a while I took a warm water shower and started recovering slowly after three more vomits. By then it was 09-30 pm and without eating or drinking anything, I started sleeping. Believe me, I slept for 9 full hours uninterrupted and felt _almost_ alright. 8 hours after I woke up in the morning, I became 100% normal and now I am waiting for my friend to pick me up, to go and see a doctor before evening this day.

Fantastic video! I have recently been diagnosed with ALS, and have been having migraines for approximately 50 years, since childhood. Prior to my ALS diagnosis, for feelings of fullness in my right ear, I had many hearing tests and two brain scans. As a result of my latest MRI prior to diagnosis with ALS, it was found that many of the nerves on the right side of my neck, probably going up into my brain stem have made both my arms so weak that my right arm has become nearly useless and I can no longer even lift a cup of coffee with my right arm. I used to be a classical pianist, and around the time that I began having problems with my ear, I began struggling to play scales and cords or anything complicated with my right hand, so I have now sold my grand piano and stopped playing atogether. I have wonderful doctors and support from the ALS Association, and I’ve been handling things well, and this video is so validating and explains so easily things that seem to be happening inside my head. Vertigo has become a problem for me for the last three years, and this is a wonderful video to help me understand.

Got vertogo two years ago followed by severe anxiety. Saw an ENT who basically did nothing but check my ears. Watched a video on the Carol Foster MD maneuver....so much better than employ maneuver and it worked. Then a friend told me to go get physical therapy where they teach you to do exercises. Worked wonders. Now two years later after a dental appt where my head was too low for an hour, it’s back but I will do what I’ve learned.

Sorry I hope you feel better, I know it’s not easy living with the vertigo and it is very awful feelings. I started to have vertigo in 2005 of April three trips to ER and each time they couldn’t find the roots caused so they sent me home with Meclizines to take. It comes and goes and the duration was like couple hour each vertigo attacked. Up till 2014 another trip to ER again and this time more violence with symptoms of heart raises, sweating, tingling in my left arm and fingers also vomiting. And doctor at ER did X-ray and can’t find anything wrong. At this time the vertigo reoccurring more and more like once a month and at times twice a month. I hated it’s just disrupting from work, driving etc. Late 2014, I found myself stared in the mirror and I noticed that my left eye is bulge out, uneven so, I scheduled to see eye doctor and doctor said this; there’s something wrong with eye; it looks like mass tissue growths behind your eyeball. He sent me to do MRI, three days later he wants to see me. He told me that I had a tumor behind my left eye this might caused the vertigo. In March 2015, I had surgery to re
moves tumor and I’m being watch care to study this tumor and found out it was benign; I said thank you Jesus.🙏❤️
I have not vertigo for one full year after my surgery. Then in 2016 I started to have vertigo again, my family and eye doctors sent me to specialist many and many more MRI, TC and Pet scans and continues with Meclizines and see ENT. MRI/TC/Pet scans the brain looks great. Neurologist found out and diagnosed me with crystals inner ears~ BPPV was sent home and instructions of head exercises and continues with Meclizines. I followed his instructions and head exercises and it helps some but vertigo reoccurring but not as much. I wished it goes away forever.😮‍💨Not easy living with vertigo😓

Fascinating! I had an experience of sudden onset, intermittent but frequent vertigo lasting over a week. Went to GP after falling: my sense of “vertical” was about 40^ off. GP put me through several tests for positional vertigo, asked lots of questions, and concluded after checking my meds that I was deficient in potassium due to a particular BP med I’d been taking for a couple of years. Changed meds and that fixed it. Thank you NHS!

I have Hugh Blood Pressure as well, I agree there may be a connection.
After your DR changed your BP meds did it go away forever ?????
I wonder what would happen if I just stopped taking my BP meds.
I'm really tempted because I had always had Low BP ten approximately
10 or 12 year's ago I had a horrific chest pain, I was alone and when it wouldn't stop after about 15mins I feared I was going to pass out alone so the first time in my life I called an Ambulance, when they checked my
BP It was off the charts, they immediately gave meba mouth full
of Aspirin and hand full of Nitro and several injections of Morphine.
Nothing was helping, we got to the ER and they worked on me all day trying to get my BP down and stop the pain, I got Morphine every 30 mins but it was no help, finally the nurse whispered she was giving me a pain med that was 10 times stronger than Morphine, whatever it was was working and little by little my BP was coming down, they never gave me the reason forbwhat caused the whole thing but I was put on BP meds and it was only a year or two when the Vertigo started, at first i was intermittent and only 4 or 5 times a year then one day 7 year's ago that attack never went away.
Thanks so much for sharing, I'm going to think seriously on this

I remember once she was in a mall store where she had one of her spells so my sisters and I all layer down with her as she was embarrassed. One day in 1980 my stepdad thought she was having an episode and kept saying Pat, come on wake up…….but it wasn’t one of her attacks….he turned her over and saw blue lips….she had had a heart attack and went in a coma for 32 days before she passed away. Many thanks for this clear explanation. It seems I may have been suffering BPPV since childhood but I had just accepted it as normal to have to sleep with pillows and to avoid tilting my head back too far when working up ladders. My only real problem arose when tilted back in the dentist's chair but thankfully my dentist eventually took to tilting the chair slowly enough to prevent the vertigo and since then it has not been a problem. I'll be trying the Epley maneuver though and have suggested it to my brother-in-law who actually fell off his ladder and caused my current search for information on the condition.

I just had vertigo today at 4am. While laying down. Standing walking is fine but once I put my head back, there you go. I saw a young doctor but couldn't trust her judgment. I am planning to do medical check up tomorrow. Last year it happened, much milder, but short. I noticed then that I accidentally went total vegan for 6 weeks. So I ate bone broth and lamb soup and immediately I was fine. This time is different. It's persistent. It's been such a day.... Thank you for all of you here who are sharing your experience. It's early for me, but I trust my body intelligence to tell me what's going on.... Hopefully I find the way to self healing and once more, learn about my body and myself.... 🦋
An update: it lasted for a day. My sister, who is an energy healer, advised me to practice deep, belly breathing. I did it until I fell asleep (that night, I sat sleeping, with my back leaning on a pile of 5 pillows). I probably woke up every now and then, but I noticed in between, that even though my head was tilted low, the vertigo didn't return). I woke up almost feeling my usual self, but decided to go to an ENT appointment in a big, international hospital. I was the first patient in queue, but the doctor couldn't come. I was asked to sign up to another ENT later, at first I agreed. But as I sat there, waiting, feeling my usual self, I took it as a sign from the Universe to cancel it. It's been almost a week, and it hasn't come back. Nevertheless I decided to take a rather thorough long overdue medical check up tomorrow. Just to get a big picture of my overall health. The data is important, but how I am going to read it, is even more paramount. And I know, there's no way I will blindly rely on the allopathy medicine system of reading. Their logic of "one pill for every Ill". I want to take control of my health by knowing my body/self intimately. Mind body soul/spirit. Learning about yourself is so rewarding!
Hope this sharing helps others in need.

My vertigo is associated with sinusitis. Often in rainy season or in winter I have the problem of water accumulation in my forehead. When I suffer from colds, I do not get a runny nose but can feel the heaviness in the head that shifts according to the position of my head and sometimes ears get blocked. I also sometimes have that vertigo problem that was very severe some years back but now just warns me with some spinning of the head when I suddenly change position. I take regularly one tablet a day of Lemolate that relieves me of this problem.

I've had vertigo for 10 years intermittently. I think a combination of poor posture, panic disorder, holding my breath when tense, and jaw clenching have been the contributing factors. Just the other day I was looking down at my phone when all of a sudden my head felt like it was getting whipped around violently. It was so bad that I saw double. Vertigo is probably the worst thing that's happened and keeps happening to me. My episodes usually last for about 5 to 10 seconds but the longest one was 1 min. Relaxation techniques like breathing exercises, meditation, warm bath, stress relief tea, valerian root, walking, and spending time in nature have helped me. I hope this helps those of you suffering from vertigo.

I used to get it all the time when I was younger and I absolutely hated it. There would be so many times where I felt like I was about to faint, but I always just told everyone I was lightheaded since no one believed me. I remember in elementary school this feeling would just randomly go crazy in class and I guarantee if i didn’t will myself to stay awake I would’ve passed out. This feeling recently got triggered when I went on a Ferris wheel and I thought I’d do some research on it, turns out it was all vertigo/dizziness. I had episodes off and on of vertigo for about 20 years. It would be most noticeable lying down and turning my head to the left, or standing and tipping my head back. At times the vertigo was very strong, room spinning. Went to a chiropractor who worked on my neck. Immediate relief. Since then I go back every three months to keep my neck flexible. I have a tendency to tense up the left side of my neck. I watched this to see if neck tension would be mentioned in this video. It wasn't. I am free from vertigo....and migraine headaches cleared up as well. All apparently tension related.

      I fully agree with that!
I have been seeing a Chiropractor for 40 years, and to be honest, it is my Chiropractor that keeps me mobile and relatively pain free.
And yes, Chiropractic can, and does, help with a lot more than just "back and neck pain."
Chiropractic can help with a LOT of "Medical" conditions, including high blood pressure, sugar diabetes, digestive issues, pulmonary issues and even erectile dysfunction. It just depends on what is "CAUSING" those problems. And the Chiropractor does it without the use of DANGEROUS and sometimes even DEADLY Prescription DRUGS!
Chiropractors "treat the CAUSE of the problem."
Medical doctors "treat the SYMPTOMS of the problem."

This video helped me figure out I most likely don't have a central problem and most likely BPPV. I did go see a general physician but they didn't do half as much to explain it as you did, 3 mins of asking questions handing me some pills and saying come back in 5 days if it still persists.

There are numerous videos of how to self treat. The Epley Maneuver works very well but doctors don't usually use it because they don't make any money actually curing you. Physical therapists and chiropractors are your best shot at relief if you can't do it at home.

Vertigo sufferers, please see a physical therapist who is trained to perform the Epley Maneuver. It takes only 10-15 minutes to get rid of the vertigo. If you have ever had vertigo, find the physical therapist ASAP so you are prepared for getting this treated immediately next time it happens. The Epley Maneuver treats benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV), which this podcaster mentions.

I watched because I was interested in what VERTIGO I had? The GP said it was Labyrinthitis. This was a sudden and stunning take down of me while driving my car. First I felt queasy - then ill - and then like my head was going to explode. Around a minute from onset I pulled up in the main street of a town I was passing through. I needed a doctor - I admit to great worry and distress. What on earth was going on in my head - whatever, I was convinced death was possible. Its getting out of the car that I discovered I had no balance. I got to a doctor, tears streaming, hunched and holding my head with eyes closed. It is then I learned about Labyrinthitis - I definitely do not recommend it. I recall that I came right in a few days of resting isolation. I can't tell which type this was from your descriptions. Such sudden onset with complete demolition - is frightening. And even now, I have no idea what caused it, or how to avoid that cause in future - touch wood.

Since, I do feel some dizziness when I turn in bed or tilt my head back, and it wasn't that bad until the other night & it was horrible again. I vomited twice over the day. I heard Dramamine helps & I may take one now & then before bedtime. I never have sinus infections, flu or hearing problems, luckily. My grandma also had vertigo & took prescription for it.

I have just had vertigo for the first time 10 days ago. I couldn’t lift my head off the pillow. It was accompanied by a BP of 210/107. My brain scan was normal. I had the first dose of Pfizer three weeks prior so I delayed the second dose. I am 64 years old, not unfit and weigh under 140lbs and a nurse. It is diminishing but still debilitating because I can’t walk for too long. I am unable to work. I have a very different outlook now towards people who suffer from this terrible symptom. I would like any response from people. Thank you so much for this video, it is extremely well done.

The warm water on my skin instantly calms me down and the weightlessness helps a little. I’m not a doctor by any means but I hope this helps someone. Been suffering from vertigo my whole life. Most drs couldn't find their way out of a paper bag. We all need to do our own homework/research and keep going to different drs until you find one who knows what they're talking about. They need to understand PATHOLOGY.

I had vertigo for a while, specially while driving , running, heights, etc etc , and I think I have a solution for it. Haven’t had it for a long time. First thing to do: go to an allergist . Make sure you’re not eating something that you’re allergic to , or smell that you’re allergic to , including perfumes colognes cleaning supplies etc. detergent . Mine was citrus , and beef. After changing my diet . It took a minute , close to a month or two. And drinking 5 oz of Benadryl (children’s ) at night before bed or when having vertigo. I promise ! Never had it back. Ya’LL watch what you guys eat , drink , smell. It is worth it to try. And I bet it will go away! Please try ! You guys don’t loose anything. Thank you for reading.
