Alec Baldwin announced that he will be having a reality TV show with his wife, Hilaria Baldwin and their 7 children on TLC scheduled to air in 2025. Does this mean TLC will be filming the trial? I breakdown the ongoing litigation that has been submitted by Baldwin's defense team and what this could mean for the upcoming trial on July 9, 2024. The prosecution submitted a motion to grant Hannah Gutierrez immunity to testify in the Alec Baldwin Rust trial. Will she plead the 5th? I am a federal employee. I have never received anything but a catered lunch during the holidays at work. We do a Secret Santa or White Elephant thing. And we limit it to $25 gag gifts. Not Mother's Day, Valentine's Day, or any other holiday. Fuckery was abound in that office.
So... I manage contracts for an IT company that sells to the Federal government. Worked as a federal contractor supporting enterprise software acquisitions, too. I'm amazed that it took higher-ups or whoever this much time to discover Becky's malfeasance. I see you regarding the necessarily tight compliance requirements for government spending (public funds!!!) of any kind. People have no shame... child support funds.
@Nonameforyoudangit my theory is that they knew but did nothing because they benefitted by proxy (all those free meals). As for your overall point, when it comes to federal funds, I agree with you. When it comes to state or lower governments, however, strict supervision is not always a given. Example: I served in the Army. While on Active Duty, strict compliance with all regulations was enforces. During my time in the National Guard, corruption was blatant to include having commanders advocate for how we should vote while in formation, allowing a Major to retire in lieu of facing a sex crime investigation, or my personal favorite, the top general being fired because he arranged for soldiers to put on a show with helicopters for his son's high school football game.
I am office manager by default at a 1 lawyer office - my boss who owns the business reimburses me and himself for coffee, snacks, approved office lunches, birthday cakes, etc.. But, like EDB said, i run a Private business and i think my boss would be pissed if i reimbursed myself for alcohol and picnic tables!!! Wth?? Valentine's gifts for jurors??? Wtf

Something that apparently seems lost in this social media click bait age is that 2 things can be true: a defendant can be likely guilty and a prosecutor shady at the same time. They're not mutually exclusive.
Agreed BUT… if the prosecution is shady it definitely goes to Reasonable Doubt and therefore to a Not Guilty verdict.
@michellehamister6032 That's the way it's supposed to work, but not always reality. Sometimes, jury fall prey to the shady tactics of the prosecution while the judges twiddle their thumbs in incompetence.

@@r3adrpro811 I believe they're all minors except for Ireland. That being the case, their parents can give the consent, subject to any relevant state laws in the state they're filming in. I have no idea what state they live in...I think I read they moved to Vermont.

And his wife is a yoga teacher, and I don't think you make a lot of money doing that. But maybe not the best look to announce this show a month before his trial.

As a South Carolinian who is already fed up with the tax hikes..I’m irritated by this. People can’t even pay for their lives and she’s taking their tax dollars for that district for her own expenses? Pardon my language, but fuck that.
I work at NASA and am familiar with policies regarding managing federal money. These checks to herself are laughable…as in so freaking shocking and outlandish I can’t even imagine in my wildest dreams doing this.
I manage state & federal IT contracts (vendor-side obviously) at an IT company. I *hope* she doesn't plead out because I want the whole timeline from her first bad act through 'gotcha.' Really interested to know how long it took officials to discover her malfeasance, because... how did this happen more than once???? To be fair, states aren't always that good at complying with their own procurement policies and regs. Lord, but I hate working state contracts for that reason.

Good lord! I worked for a courier company when 9/11 happened. Our main job was picking up checks from bank branches and taking them to the federal reserve. When the USA went wild and shut the federal reserve down we had to secure those checks. My boss wrote me a check to "cash" to go to hardware store to get the supplies needed to create a secure room, pick up food for all our dispatchers, pick up dispatchers kids from daycare and schools and take them to family or friends and my gas for running around for 4 hours and the accountant had a heart attack! I get it, it was way abnormal for us to need this stuff but that day was an exception and the IRS never questioned it that I'm aware of. But we also layed out what we bought, 5,000 screws, x number of 2X4's, etc. and the rough plans we drew up to make an unused office secure. Plus all the receipts for every thing...hell I turned over all the notes the dispatchers wrote me to pick up their kids...maybe the IRS was like Nope we're not reading all this shit it was 9/11 you do you boo!

I work for state government. My ethics rules limit what I can spend even MY OWN money on (much less agency money.) Buying gifts or meals is either prohibited or the dollar amount that I can spend is limited.
Just noticed (only listened to it the day it came out), that the first ethics complaint lists her name as 'Becky B. Hill', while the second ethics complaint lists her name as 'Rebecca *H.* Hill'.

First of all, I don't even watch shows like the Kardashians(?) now, I certainly would have NO interest in watching Him and all his kids!! Maybe he's trying to change the public outlook on his parenting skills, especially after how he treats his oldest! Secondly, even if it was a business that had petty cash for those types of things, that's an INSANE amount of "gifts" and "lunches" for her and the staff. Seriously?? What is going on anymore???

I am a credit card administrator (current) for a company and was the backup administrator for another company.
Red flags (even for private companies) given that it's a court house : gifts for jurors, dog stuff, personal stuff (reimbursement), and AG reimbursement for expenses. I have seen all the other ones in the private business sector signed off by supervisors. Most of those expenses would be a result of the sales team or on the executive level. Unless she's the equivalent of those positions - all are red flags here.
Holy crap, 74 counts. Considering that not only can the IRS audit all those transactions, governmental agencies have a different set of regulations when it comes to business expenses, reimbursements, and authorized use of funds granted through taxes/funding. There are also tax implications for these expenses pending on the year and how they were coded in the accounting system, pending how the courthouse files their taxes.
I'd be interested in seeing the dates of submissions, approval process, and receipts. Also, the policy regarding the proper procedure in reimbursement and whether or not she followed it to the letter.
Also, other people might need to be held accountable depending on policy and such too. Someone signed those checks. Someone printed those checks. Someone vouched the payment to be initiated.
The standard is that a supervisor approval is required for any and all reimbursements made to any employee, regardless of position. Even the biggest boss in that courthouse reports to someone..

Honestly I am so uncomfortable with exploiting children on television or online. I feel like we know so much about what happens to children in the spotlight. It must also be really tough if you have famous parents anyway, never mind you being a kid and potentially having those videos in public forever. I hope people don't watch and it dies out after one season, at least for the sake of those children.

The county here has forms that are filled out (in triplicate) for things such as snacks, drinks and such for the jury room as well as meals. Now parties and such is usually something everyone brigs something to and if it is a birthday/retirement people pitch in and buy a cake. I have seen judges buy their clerk flowers on secretaries day or a special day but they don't take it from the tax payers. This blows my mind!
