This movie has its 40th anniversary this year. Way ahead of time. The banter between Stern and Scheider was amazing, you really felt like you were in the helicopter with them.
Great acting, no CGI, right ending. Great action film.
Loved it especially as a kid
This movie was, and still is, badass as hell.
Imagine this today, law enforcement using AH-64 Apaches to "quell unrest".
Bye bye, blm/antifa
A shame that all of the scene isn't here :(
Still remember renting this great movie as a kid.
Hopefully you remembered to rewind the tape before returning it to blockbuster
Great aerial views of LA (hasn't changed much after nearly 40 years). And RIP Roy Scheider and Warren Oates.
I'm starting to think that JAFO was a Virgin. He sure gets roused up when he sees, or hears women in the buff, or talking/having sex.
The Best Movie Ever Made Over Los Angeles. The Skyline Now Is Full Of Skyscrapers.
Dude You smokin' potato or what it's changed drastically
You can still see that view on GTA 5. I offen use a choppa in the game 🎮 and just fly round looking for trouble or making it 😎
I fucking love this movie and soundrack!
One of my favorite movies of all time! Such a timeless classic! Great acting, great helicopter scenes and the music is really good. I remember I saw this movie on VHS when I was a kid. I remember the woman doing naked yoga was one of my favorite scenes 😄😛
They didnt make any better of this kind, why? this movie is talking about how the gouverment is fucking us all!
@@antares8341 Same as The X-Files: The Lone Gunmen episode with 9-11 before the actual ordeal happened in real life...
@@StefanBlagojevic ohh i love x files, and those 3 nerds, the lone gunman.
Yeah. Pity they cut out the verbal sex/orgasm being broadcast over the Blue Thunder's speakers. It was funny as hell. 'Murrica - worships guns and violence, but still puritanical when it comes to sex.
The older brother of Airwolf
Airwolf is nothing to this
Back in the day before airwolf
Best movie Roy Scheider ever played in!
I liked him in 2010 The Year We Make Contact.
@@dcdrew3 Nowhere near as good as the books, 2001 and 2010.
@@michaelphillips7282 Movies rarely are, and although there's no way to re-capture the magic of Kubrick's 2001, 2010 was a good sequel in its own right. It deserves a place in the Film Library.
Jaws enters the chat :p
@@philr36 Naw, the mechanical shark made that movie.
A great movie I seen in my early 20s!
Still a reckoning movie of all time!
This is an epic scene.
All the fun and games....until they discovered the truth about Project T.H.O.R and Blue Thunder.
That wasn’t ruined by sequels
It still surprises me that after all the shit they bolted onto a light, single-engine helicopter that it STILL managed to take off and fly. Not to mention that they did it to not one, but TWO SA-342 Gazelles. You'll never see stunt flying like this ever again.
Fun fact: The two gazelles they used for BT were used again (as Russian helicopters) in the ABC Cold War miniseries “Amerika”.
It's cool that they didn't over dub the engine and rotor noise too
Right? Even real gunships don't get full size Vulcans...Just the thing for urban pacification!
You picked the best scenes to feature. Brilliant.
0:33-0:36 "Let's see what's on HBO, tonight, okay?"
Nowadays, it would be "Let's see what's on Netflix, tonight," or "Lets see what's on UA-cam."
Haha. I always loved that HBO line. There’s a ton of other great quotes in this film as well.
F**K Netflix!!!
*1983-2023 **#STILL*
Amazing backdrop of LA
1:14 that was actually correct for the movie helicopter in real life. It did tend to fly nose down due to all the extra weight installed up front without any counter balancing
Can you imagine thou begin a crook and out of no were you see this helicopter that made no sound till you looked up or saw it outside a window and it is right there stare at you?
despite 2023 technology everywhere these movie still impact and fascinating everytime I saw.
maybe just a 2 cent of a middle aged engineer I dunno that but wild feeling
Great movie
That when LAPD in 1983
They're trying to catch Neil MacCauley.
GREAT 👍 movie 🍿 🎥!!!! Most don’t know this!!!! Roy was a very good amateur boxer 🥊 (8-1)!!!! His head wasn’t into it that much like most fighter’s!!!!
👍 🎥 👍 scene!!!!!
Even as kid, I thought "wouldn't people in L.A. freak out to see a heli with a vulcan cannon on it for police work?"
how have I never seen this movie?
Where's the bit where they look down the woman's dress? That was the last onscreen appearance of the famous _Tiny Naylor's_ drive-in restaurant at Sunset & La Brea before it was demolished!
Imagine if they had massed produced these! Fact: This movie was shot in 1980 but was released in '83 for some reason. It happens.
Pretty sure they were still filming some locatin sceans in 82.
I bet that conversation about how to disable the voice recorder will be important later in the movie
Wow! A young Daniel Stern!
Jafo just anoher f obsrver😂
Whisper mode on your Mom.
I know the NRO has drones that can fly using satellite feeds.. Also it can go up to 200 miles an hour..and has flown around the Earth with no problem.
Great police movie 🚓🚓🚓🚓🚓🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨 🚁🚁🚁🚁🚁🚁🚁🚁🚁
Where's the rest of this video
Nice edit. Losing the goofy comedy elements is nice.
Yeah but the cleavage shot is still greatly missed.
I think it emphasised how dangerous the helicopter is, in terms of spying on the populous. That's why Murphy destroys it at the end.
1983 Technology that already existed. How about 2023?
One scene was deleted
3:25 YOU ERASED THE MOST CRUCIAL PART OF THE VIDEO!!!!!!!!
Is Robert DeNiro really a (San Diego), Padres fan how about “Blonde Ambition?”.?
How would Frank have been able to fly with a known PTSD diagnosis. Doubtful he would have cleared his physical for pilots license.
He was physically fine, but his PTSD was in question. The police psychiatrist wanted to have him up for phycatric reevaluation. His Captian warned him about the impending event.
Joe Pesci instead of Roy Scheider in this and Macauly Calkin would have been smoked
Scope🎉, political correct see or hear anything good? (Mobb Deep)!..Q3uit Storm…
The DOS operating system would not have access to any data. The internet had not been invented. A database would not have fit inside the cockpit. Plot holes
I didn't see any DOS commands there, that wasn't DOS. The Internet was invented in the 1970s but wasn't available to the general public until the 90s. The fact that they discovered that Murphy's file was being edited at that moment means that the database wasn't on the helicopter, they were accessing it via radio. Holes sealed.
