Dang I am old because i remember actually watching this episode. man the 80s where some good years.
One of the best TV series period. Yes the turbo button wasn't real, Yes a helicopter can't reach altitudes of 70,000 feet, Yes a helicopter can't fly mach one, Yes helicopter doesn't have weapons like that attached to them. But so fucking what that's what made that show so great let the imagination take you away. Absolutely loved Ernest Borgnine
F35B is the air wolf today. It has all fire power air wolf has or even more And can hovering and vertical take off and loading. Can go 2 Mach can carry a lot missile anti air anti ground even anti sea.
This show was awesome. So glad I got to watch this when I was a kid.

We definitely had the best shows hands down. Nothing today compares to them in originality, writing, casting and acting. Even though as I watch them now some of the acting was over the top and hokey but nevertheless when you're a young kid with an imagination these shows were our dreams come to life.

It's amazing how the Bell 222 still looks modern and a bit futuristic after all these years. The designers were way ahead of their times. A very nice helicopter. 👍 I saw one over 25 years ago landing at the hospital in my town. I couldn't get really close because the landing pad was not open to public.
When you become an actual helicopter pilot and find out the "turbo" button on airwolf's cyclic control was actually just the cyclic trim button..... But choose to live in denial and believe it was the turbo button because the 80's were just so awesome.

I started watching Jan as a teenager in the 60's. Thought he was the cutest guy on tv. I have to say my life was so busy later on I never watched this series. Sorry he had such a hard life in his waning years. R.I.P.

The age of "machine main character" shows. We had Viper, Knight Rider (cars), Airwolf (helicopter), Street Hawk (motorcycle, hard to pull off but they did), and Blue Thunder (boat, show was so weak that even a wrestler couldn't save it)... and of course RoboCop (not a vehicle, but similar genre).
I agree 💯 percent, amazing how a long movie was made with , Airwolf ,kitt from knight rider, and the a team fighting terrorists

To this day this is still the coolest and meanest looking helicopter ever. Even without all the panels added to make it look like it did, the Bell 222 is still an incredibly beautiful machine.
Airwolf's signature... best move was the backflip.. Simply amazing for that period in time.

Season 1: Started the craze, had the best plots, storylines etc. But looking back at it obviously dog-fights/theme wasn't as good as the later seasons. But the story-telling with all the espionage, foreign conflicts, etc. was top notch!
Season 2: Dogfight choreography was the best along with an improved theme (as seen mostly in this clip), but the storylines became a little more "domestic" (as per Alex Cord's interview due to pressure from the higher ups) although more than half were great episodes like Fallen Angel and Once a Hero etc., of course along with everyone's favorite, HX-1!
Season 3: BEST rendition of the theme song, but with the exit of Donald P. Bellisario who had had enough with the studio interference, story-telling and plots became absolute crap and about 75% of the aerial dogfights just became recycled footage due to a quashed budget (notable exceptions like Airwolf II, Deadly Circle and Half Pint etc.) along with JMV's behind the scenes drinking and drug problems just led to the end of the great show.
Season 4:......UUUUGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH :(
Just imagine if there was no interference from the studios and had Bellisario stayed on with full control and budget and JMV didn't have his personal problems, the show could have lasted easily for at least 4-5 great quality seasons with a great conclusion. Oh well

@@earlygail I don't know which episode it was or exactly what happened but there's a scene where the company man was shooting at someone coming through a door. It was shot in normal speed, but he pointed the gun at the wall and fired several shots tracking towards the doorway before hitting the bad guy coming through. I'm pretty sure it was supposed to be sped up in post, but was aired at normal speed and I saw it thinking the bad guy had like a full 10 seconds to shoot the protagonist there before he even got the gun pointed at him. 😂😂😂
Yes, what could've been..... my dad worked at a hotel in Oxnard and jan Michael Vincent used to come in there all the time and he was usually absolutely sloshed and he always had a woman or two on his arm. I don't know about the production issues but he lost track of things sad to say. I used to see the Santini air helicopters over at the municipal airport often, as well. Loved the show. Like I said what could have been? 😖😟😢
I was the no 1 fan of Airwolf in my high school.. I even told a girl I liked that my home (nick) name was Senjen.. I didn't know it was St John.. Lol, Hawke's long lost bro in the Vietnam War. Despite the infamous "Senjen" taking over in season 4, Airwolf was just not the same anymore. In the late 90s, my cell phone ring tone was... AIRWOLF!

This show aired in the late 90's in sweden. I remember me and my lil bro runing home from school to watch it every day of the week!

I give airwolf a 5 star thumbs up to all the original actors and actresses and to the producer who made it all possible I know Jan never flew the helicopter tv magic made it look like it he was along for the ride and all the aircraft used in the series was rented or leased for the episodes very expensive airwolf was the only helicopter that was ownen

looking at the person on the right it looks a lot like Jan.... ps i recon it could be built with fully operational " Turbos " too... aka smaller Turbine + Tesla Plaid rear motors geared/tuned to compensate, same fuel tank size... when activating Turbos a % fuel is redirected to them the Tesla motors come on line to compensate for fuel % loss thus blade still have full RPM (until it self detects maximum safe Turbo fuel usage then stops the fuel redirect and reverts back to standard) + 200kw battery....
Pretty sure i saw a vid explaining that they had 3 or so helis, rigged differently.

I remember this one. Hawk gave them a chance but they refused so lol. That was the first episode with Katelynn. She was in another chopper looking at Hawk and Airwolf destroy that building and it's always funny when people see the amount of damage "The Lady" can do.
String was pissed! I remember that one as a kid cuz TV heroes never did that! No parachutes for these bad guys.

I laugh every time I see a clip from the Moffit's Ghost episode (and I didn't even have to look that up!!!) that when they get to 80k feet and open the doors to freeze out the computer, paper flies all over the cockpit!! Classic 80's SFX, when there is wind, you must have paper blowing around!!! :-)

My name is Steven W Stull and built the only Replica of Airwolf. In great detail using the original parts from the screen used ship. It took me a year or better and tracking down everyone in Airwolf involved from the 222 and all the weapons. It is a honor to even be around or get hands on a flying 1983 Bell 222A that Airwolf was created from. The ships were very advanced and Beautiful. They are not small. The craft comes in around 45 feet long. Good times coming soon!
Very Sad News After the Series Air Wolf was Sold to a Hospital in Germany. And became an Air Ambulance. Air Wolf was Rushing a Young Girl With severe Burns to a Burn Unit. She was returning back to Berlin When a Very Heavy Storm front Came out of no where The lost Visibility And Crashed into A Mountain Side Killing all aboard The Pilot .The Nurse . and A Doctor. On June 6 1992. Rest in Peace Airwolf
