I personally think Airwolf is the most beautiful helicopter up until this day! , the music , that sleekness, the beauty , that howling sound , the turbo blast the way she sits on her wheels and the way she retracts them when taking off, the chain guns and the cannon and the way she let's them out for combat , the speed and the way in which she flys so smoothly , the secret cave where shes hidden and the way Hawk flys her and drops the vizer on his helmet before blowing up the enemy!
I loved this list. It's pure nostalgia. I was born in 1979 so grew up with a lot of these iconic vehicles. Thank you for a great trip down Memory Lane.
Same here man, Sept 12th of 79. Loved growing up in the 80s. Only thing I feel like I missed that I was born earlier to see would have been Elvis alive. But hey you cant have everything, lol
What a great selection of 80's vehicles of all types. The General Lee will always be my favourite. The 80's will always be the very best decade to have grown up in. Not only did they have the best TV shows, but films, music etc etc.
No doubt about it. There will never be a decade like that. The general Lee is tied with the Trans Am from Smokey and the bandit in my opinion both gorgeous cars.
I'm from S.C. and I love the General Lee. I hated All the controversial stuff that led to the flag being removed. I grew up with the original GL and color shouldn't matter but I'm African-American and a flag ain't never done nothing wrong to me. Yeah it sucks they took the Duke's of Hazzard off.
I am trying to decide whether it's just old man nostalgia in me or those times were really that good. I'm leaning towards the latter. General Lee is in stiff competition with K. I. T. T. for me. Too close to call. And that union jack is inseparable from it. Being Dutch, I'm not sure I'd be allowed and opinion on it these days though 😂
I was born in 81.loved watching the A-team and Dukes of Hazzard the good guys beating up the bad guys and out smarting the police or whoever is chasing them . Out running them with the black van with BA behind the wheel or General Lee out fixing sheriff Rosco
@SciFi Author B.L. Alley "[...]treat the audience like we are all stupid[...]" - to be fair, the vast majority ARE stupid enough to just mindlessly consume whatever garbage they are fed by the so-called "entertainment"-industry. Why else would we see remake after remake after reboot after remake? And don't even get me started on the whole in-your-face socio-political BS shoved into today's "entertainment". There's a reason I have been hoarding pre-2000s physical media - books in particular.
The 80's was the decade of decades and I'm so grateful to have come of age in that time, so I really enjoyed this trip down memory lane! My choice for most iconic 80's car has to be Keaton's Bat Mobile followed by the BttF Delorian. Thanks so much for putting this video together!!!!
It has to be Airwolf for me, such a stunning lookin' bird. To quote Dominic Santini _"No matter how many times I see her, she still takes my breath away...."_ An iconic 80s TV vehicle not included was Automan's Lamborghini and Helicopter, it would be interesting to know what happened to those.
@@Madd_dogg_13 Yeah, I'm an aussie, and I loved all these american cars. We had some great cars here too (and I once dated a girl whos dad collected russian soviet era cars, so you guys had some neat autos too, they built those tough) but those american movie ones where really iconic, especially when I was a kid.
This has to be one of the best well presented and nicely researched you tube programmes I've seen. This is such an enjoyable nostalgic trip through 80s tv, especially if you grew up then. No CGI or other digital effects. Just great looking vehicles and stunt men and women. My personal favourite was the Fall Guy truck. Absolutely beautiful. Thank you so much for posting.
I stand with Airwolf. The sound maneuver, 80s beat sound and Trademark theme is perfect synchronize. But the iconic howling Turbo jet blast seems like no elite heli fighter can escape from being overwhelmed by just one lone wolf in the sky. Mannn... No anti radar needed for this
Hey, I was looking forward to seeing the vehicles used for Automan. There was this sparkly ball called "Cursor" that would make Automan's vehicles. Glad to see Wraith was in your listing too. Good memories.
One of the things that many people seem to skim over or not pay enough attention to really notice about Airwolf: She has a learning computer and adaptive computerized flight controls. As seen in Moffett's Ghost and Mind of the Machine, the computer is linked to every system. Combined with a few moments involving Dom, who often talks to the copter as if were a person, and the occasional times when you can hear snarling/growling, it's possible that the onboard computer may be developing a sort of AI of its own, or have some basic one and is buiding on it. I've always thought that was particularly cool.
I wondered about that. I will have to rewatch the DVDs that I have of Airwolf. Too bad the show did not develop that part. It would have been something for Stringfellow, Dominic, and Archangel to have Airwolf start talking to them using two word sentences which would have had Dominic start helping Airwolf develop the ability to use full sentences.
This is an amazing video. This tugs right at my heart. Amazing to see what happened to some of our favorites. I have a huge tv/movie vehicle collection. And the 1980s is a big part of it.
For me the Holy Trinity is Airwolf, Knight Rider and Street Hawk. The three most amazing 80s vehicles. Since I was 5 years old and still a little obsessed to this day.
I can't pick only 3. Lol Love the general Lee, knight rider, Christine, magnums Ferrari, facemans Vette, fall guys truck...man, lots of very cool rides.
I loved many of the movie cars of the 80s, but one of my favorite was the Dodge M4S for the movie Wraith. I'm a dodge fan and back when the movie came out I already knew about this car. Dodge wanted to see if they could build a 200mph 4 cylinder car. They made this prototype sports coupe with a 2.2L twin turbo twin intercooler. This mid-engine car had a tested and confirmed top speed of 194.8 mph. But big thumbs up for Ecto-1, DeLorean and the V8 interceptor. I was waiting for the truck from "B.J. and the bear" TV Series 1978-1981
Airwolf was the best looking heli of all time imo! The story goes, that after filming, the White Lotus submarine car nick-named 'Wet Nellie" from The Spy who Loved me went on promotional tour, then shipped to put into 10 year pre-paid storage in Long Island New York. After it ran out, it wasn't claimed and the undisclosed storage locker contents went to auction. The winner of that auction won it for $100, occasionally exhibited it between 1989 and 2013 and restored the exterior. In Sept 2013, the owner put it up for auction through RM auctions, Battersea, south west London. It sold for £550,000. The buyer was Elon Musk and at that time he was said to be planning on using Tesla motors electric drive train to convert into a functional car-sub as depicted in the film. Pretty sure I have seen another one in 2012 at Beaulieu car museum in the UK when they had a Bond car exhibit. Not like I'm a huge Bond fan, but wanted to contribute. Keep it tuned for another useless factoid, same time tomorrow! 😂
The Stingray coupe was sold and back around '89-'90 I worked in a classic auto store in Langley BC Canada. The store shared space with a trucking company that hauled primarily for a BC owned grocery retailer. The trucking company was and still is noted for their owner-operator pristine red trucks and trailers. The drivers were very well paid and many had classic and custom cars including the owner of the company. One driver, I recall purchased that 'Vette coupe. He was in the shop frequently as he was an acquaintance of one of my co-workers and although or store didn't specialize in Corvette parts we sold him a few items to keep that car healthy. It could be seen often in the driver's parking area when the owner was on the road. I laugh now recalling as none of us in the store knew the TV show very well, we looked a bit baffled when he told us it was the car from "Stingray". Memory served us when he reminded us of the show. It was a cool looking 'Vette for sure. It may still be in the Langley BC Area today though I haven't seen it since the early '90s.
I wish, I could take the DeLorean DMC12 to go back to the awesome 80ties and never come back. For me these three iconic movies gave me the best memories. A great compliment to you for making this video. Thanks for that👌🏻
Airwolf, General Lee, and KITT are my three favorites of the 80s! Those three vehicles were the main actors in their respective television series. Very seldom have we seen the vehicles of a movie or television series, be more important than the main actors or actresses themselves. There's two late 70s to early 80s television shows that deserve mentioning because of the vehicles.... and that's Starsky & Hutch with their 76 Ford Gran Torino. And CHiPs, with their Police Interceptor Motorcycles.
I remember when Chris Bromham acquired the Street Hawk bike and all the restoration he did, luckily I was there to see it being done. It only had a tiny fuel tank so wouldn't be able to go very far! Was also at his house the day he loaded it onto the trailer to drive it to the cars of the stars museum.
K.I.T.T. and AIRWOLF are definitely my two favorites. The replica of AIRWOLF hasn't been on the roof of that mansion for probably two years now. It's currently withering away at the 'Tomorrow’s Aeronautical Museum' in Compton, CA. I wish I could afford to buy it and have it restored because that museum it's sitting at isn't taking care of it at all.
Try contacting the who built it 18 years ago so much work went into it it would be a shame to let it rust away like all the iconic working vehicles, not the Airwolf but rescue it.
This was a great selection, thanks for that. Several other 80s movie vehicles were left out that you could make another video about. I'm thinking the M577 Armored Personnel Carrier from Aliens 2, the Truck and Trans Am from the Smokey and the Bandit Sequels, Wolff's Scrambler from Spacehunter adventures in the forbidden zone (along with many others), The Hovercraft Car and Racing Hydrofoil from Condorman, The cars of Cannonball Run, Tom Cruise's motorcycle from Top Gun, Buckaroo Bonzai's Jet Truck MK III, the National Lampoons Family Vacation Ford LTD Family Truckster, The EM-50 Urban Assault Vehicle from Stripes, Axel Foley's car from Beverly Hills Cop, The Porsche & Ferrari from Against All Odds, Vehicles from The Junkman, The Terminator Motorcycle, Ferris Beullers Ferrari 250, Goonies Ford Mustang GT, The VW Bug from Herbie Goes Bananas, The Karate Kid Ford Super Deluxe, the My Science Project Pontiac GTO, The Black Moon from Black Moon Rising, The Armed SUV from Tango & Cash, The Police Interceptor Bikes from Chips, The 1953 Messerschmitt KR175 from Brazil, The Chevy Malabu from Repo Man, the spinner flying car from Bladerunner & Trancers, Ernest Borgnine's Taxi from Escape from New York, the truck from Metal Storm, the semi from Battletruck, the Megaforce bikes and quads, and the Porshe 928 from Risky Business.... Thats a few just off the top of my head
CHiPs used Kawasaki KZ1000C patrol bikes, the same as what the actual California Highway Patrol was using at the time (nope! Not Harley-Davidsons... in the 80's H-D was still owned by AMF and their bikes weren't well regarded). Subsequent "TV Movies" used BMW police bikes, also the same models as what was in use with the agency at the time of filming (1990's).
@@juliusdream2683 I saw the Lambo from the Cannonball Run sitting in the showroom of one of the few remaining Delorean dealerships in Florida about 15 years ago! "Not For Sale"
13:35 It can be noted that the former Airwolf-copter had taken a severely injured girl from Berlin to Cologne for specialized treatment and crashed on the way back, so it didn't go down for nothing. Unfortunately, the three occupants on the way back didn't survive the flight into the side of a quarry
I'm the most impressed that someone revived the Highway Man-truck. That's such a short lived show, but I remember exactly watching it as a kid and admiring that truck the most. My favorite part though was the "sportscar" that would slip from under it. It has a really cool look and I always assumed it was designed off an airplane tug. Would be interesting to see if that survived, too. Also: props to Stallone for getting his car back. He could easily have bought ten similar ones.
All of these bring back a part on my life I remember with great fondness, but of all of them, the one that I love the most is Airwolf, the Bell 222 helicopter. Although the Australian Ford Falcon GT Coupe in Mad Max comes in a very close second!
I remember growing up in Poland and watching Airwolf.I always looked forward to watching the next episode. One of the most amazing aircraft designs of all time
Awesome video. I respect the amount of effort you put into researching these vehicles, and what happened to them after their prime time. Thanks. I loved this video.
@@GenXToysGeek Oh yes. About that. Indeed. I thought you were talking about the craft in general. My apologies. If I remember correctly, didnt he drop a molotov on himself while flying? Or somebody threw one up at him.
"240 Robert" was my all time favorite 80's series. It featured a Shariff's Dept on the west coast that did a lot of rescue work including underwater and cliffside rescue. Morgan, the hlocopter pilot was The Best using a Hughes 500 modifide for air ambulance. "Trap" and "Fib" would drop from her landing legs over water in full SCUBA gear.
Thanks for posting this. I saw the Blue Thunder mockup at Universal in the 90s, I'd wondered what happened to it, as a friend of mine got buzzed by the helicopter during the filming of the short-lived TV series. As for the 'highwayman' truck, I'd often wondered about that. Not many people even remember the TV movie or series today!
Not sure what happened to my original post but just to ket you guys know, there’s a cool die cast model of BT for sale. I bought one on eBay and it looks fantastic
Watching this with my morning cuppa Jody - and what a joy! so many happy childhood memories tied up in this video. Very, slick production too! an amazing amount of knowledge and work has gone into this. Great job!
Keep in mind, Ecto-1 was restored using donor parts from Ecto-1A (GBII) And 1A was unfortunately left to rot on sony's backlot. People have confirmed that Ecto-1A was used for Afterlife and partially restored/weathered up for the film
I grew up in the '80s. Thank you for the trip down memory lane. I couldn't wait to watch Knight Rider and Airwolf so those two are my choices. I loved the starship in the last starfighter myself. Deathblossum anyone? Oh wait it's a weapon of last resort.
Amazing video! I had forgotten about a couple of these and the memories came rushing back. I was a big airwolf and knight rider fan, so those get my vote for the best. Hard to pick though.
thanks for this, really well done! I have a few you might remember that weren’t as much a feature of the shows/movies, but still iconic to me as a teen growing up in the 80s. Mindy’s Jeep CJ5 that Mork rode around in upside down, and speaking of Jeeps, all the great Willy’s Jeeps in MASH were cool to see with some great episodes that featured them. I would add the car from Rainman… the Toyota SR5? 4x4 pickup at the end of Back To The Future, and for something really far out there and esoteric, Lady Jane Felsham’s green Range Rover in the UK series Lovejoy was a really nice ride. Thanks again for taking me down memory lane!
Thanks for making this video. The thumbnail photo at 08:45 is mine. I took this while on vacation at what was then MGM Studios. I had added all of the photos of Blue Thunder I had taken in 1999 to the then merger entry for the film. Only two of these photos still appear.
The synth tune of Airwolf just brought a huge grin to my face… There‘s a K.I.T.T. sitting alone in our huge underground parking garage. Just four spots down from my parking bay. Sitting there with a Knight Rider plate in the windshield. Never seen it being moved in over three years. Seems it doesn’t belong to any tenant here. Every day I walk by it and every day my heart starts bleeding because of the huuuge layer so dust on the car. Every now and then someone writes something in the dust like „Hello“ or „Pig“ or „K+C“. What a waste, what a shame….
Great list. Thank you. I've been rewatching some of these with my son over the last several years - he's 10 now. I love how his imagination and enthusiasm for vehicles are encouraged by these shows and films. I've looked up Lane Meyer's Camaro from Better Off Dead before. I even looked up his station wagon. One of my favorite movies, if not #1. Would love to see that in another video, and am curious as to which clips you would use! Buckaroo Banzai would be fun too.
Definitely would love to find out more about Buckaroo Banzai's Jet Car (which basically was a Ford F150 pickup truck, with the bed removed and a jet turbine/intake fitted to the frame.)
Many people will laugh at you for saying that. But I’m 48 years old. 6ft 350. And I too tear up when seeing the past. One bc it was a better time. I had all my family and friends. And two it represents a care free time. With that I’ve been chasing as an adult my whole life. To know I can’t be there anymore. Absolutely makes me sad. I’ll never have them days back.
The Bell 222 has to be the best looking chopper of all time. In grade school, while my friends were busy fawning over KITT, I was enamoured with Airwolf. That was my jam!
同時期に日本でも「AIR-WOF」「ナイトライダー」が放映され、男子中高生を中心に人気ドラマでした。(At the same time, AIR-WOF and Night-Rider were aired in Japan and became popular dramas among junior and senior high school boys.) 私は今でもAIR-WOLFが好きです。(I still like AIR-WOLF)
I loved the show and the truck. I still have my diecast model of the truck that I bought before the show ended. Miss the 80's programming , shows back then was worth watching every week
When I was a kid, my dad drove a Trans-Am so Kitt was definitely the most iconic for me, however, one you did forget was the Trans-Am from Smokey and the Bandit. I was never a big fan but my cousins loved the Dukes of Hazzard. I still think the most legendary vehicle from TV/movies has to be the Delorean from BTTF though!
Yeah, I'm going to have to agree with you there, being that I'm probably about your father's age, and I still have a 2002 Pontiac firebird sitting on my property for that same reason, just loved these cars because that show.
Earlier this year when I was looking for a new car, I actually thought about buying a Pontiac Firebird Trans Am. I loved Knight Rider back when I was a kid. Even without all those modifications it is still a nice looking car. But to be honest... Having Airwolf as a personal helicopter to fly to work everyday would be awesome aswell :) Nice video! Thx for all the research you did!
Nice list, another good entry would have been "Simon & Simon." There was a 1982 Camaro Z28 with the T-top modified to be a targa and then of course the 1979 Dodge Power Wagon pickup and occasionally a '57 Bel Air convertible would turn up. Would be nice to see if any of these survived.
Fun fact: Airwolf's "cosmetic" additions to the helicopter actually made the aircraft more stable to manage and fly. Blue Thunder's "cosmetic" additions made the damn gazelle so heavy that it made it SLOW, and list off to one side - this is very obvious when you see it coming straight for the camera. All of the practical stunts done with the Blue Thunder helicopter was sped up to give it the false illusion of it being super fast - when in reality, it was slower than someone's grandma on a suped-up wheelchair scooter equipped with a nitro boost.
well ok , but , the Out of the characters these machines play Blur Thunder kicks more ass. All Airwolf had was weapons and speed , Blue Thunder had dozens of tricks up its sleeve!
@@tubewatcher97 uh, Airwolf has about nearly the same abilities Blue Thunder had in terms of stealth - according to the show runners, Airwolf also has espionage and counter-espionage capabilities despite them being rarely used as the primary role for Airwolf was straight up long-range stealth & combat. Overall, comparing Airwolf v Blue Thunder is like apples to oranges - their roles are very different. Blue Thunder's role was more limited to an urban setting, hence a slightly more robust intelligence-gathering capability. As far as I can remember, BT never used missiles - it's only combat capability came in the form of a chin-turret chain gattling gun, and it couldn't outrun a long-range missile from a nearly-invisible stealth combat helicopter like Airwolf.
From this list, I'd say my favorite car is the Micheal Keaton Batmobile (though the Adam West Batmobile does have a special place in my heart). But, when it comes to childhood favorites, not many cars can beat the Black Moon, from Black Moon Rising. I looked into it a little, and it was a heavily modified 1980 Wingho Concordia II... The Black Moon has some sexy lines to it, and I must say, the original car does as well. I'm not sure if any of the Black Moon cars still exist though.
Knight rider, Airwolf and street hawk were my favourite, as a kid was blessed to go to the cars the star museum in the lakes! Was devastated when it closed!!!! Great video!!!
One of the surviving General Lee's is in an auto museum in South Dakota just off the I-90, it's worth the visit as it's not just a museum for cars but also for many other bits of nostalgia and Americana. Either way Dukes of Hazard is the sole reason that almost every one of that car model from that year is either scrap metal or sitting in a museum unless it was one of the very, VERY few that made it into someone's hands before the producers could buy them up.
Awesome video great research, as a guy in his 40's this brought back memories I didn't realise I had. Favourite has to be Airwolf for me with the music was just the coolest thing ever..... lol, love the car from cobra tho thanks once again great video 👍
n a strange turn of events, the truck was eventually sold and transformed into a dump truck. One of the other trucks used in the filming of the movie, a 1973 Mack RS-797LST, was used extensively for stunts and was left as scrap metal in the end.
I have always wanted a General Lee. I would love to arrive at work in one being a big kid. And how sweet did three black vehicles look together, Ateam van, KITT and Airwolf.
@@GenXToysGeek yeah, I have a mixed relationship with the flag. As a student of the civil war the Battle Flag clearly stood for a country wishing to defend slavery and not issues raised under 1920s revisionist confederacy presentation. But as a symbol of a naughty, rebellious nature I understand the use for the Duke boys, considering they were clearly Robon Hood characters against a corrupt Sherrif and King.
@@brendanhaley3668 It is bittersweet when it comes to the General Lee. I don't believe there was any racial intent when creating the car, however, the whole reason that flag exists in the first place like you said, rooted in keeping slavery legal. It's hard to like the car nowadays. With John Schneider being a newsmax regular, it makes it easy to disown the General and the Dukes of Hazzard.
The introduction of the third generation Firebird/Trans-Am in 1981/1982 coincided perfectly with Knight Rider. Firebirds/Trams-Ams looked better than they performed and of course there was the differences that the show did for KITT but all that being said, spanning the entire decade and the changes in style and design that occurred through out the 1980s, the third generation Firebird/Trans-Am is the quintessential 1980s car and by its obvious connection, KITT has to be top spot for me.
The 80s was the decade for great TV shows and movies. My favorites were Airwolf, Blue Thunder, and the Dukes of Hazzard. I imagined myself flying those helicopters, and I loved the way the Dukes always triumphed over Boss Hogg and Sheriff Roscoe. As for other vehicles (and I'm being somewhat obscure here), how about Boss Hogg's Cadillac convertible and the station wagon from Karate Kid (that needed a push start when it broke down)? Just a thought.
The M4S Interceptor from the Wrath is awesome ! 440 HP from a 2.2L twin cam turbocharged beast of a motor. Too bad it never got mass produced, just a 1 off Pace Car. Then there is Air Wolf, nothing more needs to be said.
I’m impressed that you remembered Tales of the Golden Monkey and Street Hawk. But you missed BJ and the Bear which ended in 1981, and Innerspace. I lusted after that 500hp Mustang convertible pseudo-Shelby when I was a teenager.
From what I recall, the Airwolf helicopter was used by a German medical EMS service for 6-8 years. The chopper crashed in a 🏔 wreck killing the pilots & air crew, EMTs. Nothing of the aircraft was recovered. I'd add Airwolf 🐺 was used in 1 brief NBC-Miami Vice scene but none of the weapons(missiles 🚀) or chain guns were used.
In answer, YES! I remember "Cutters Goose". "Tales of the Gold Monkey" is one of my all time favorite TV shows. Such a crime that it was so short lived. Thank you for including it.
For sure the 80's had so many amazing vehicles but on your list has to be for me Air Wolf had a great time watching that T.V. show. Also love to see the Black Lamborghini from Cannonball 81' made your list. Still to this day I dream of this beautiful Iconic car. Great video & thanks for the trip back. I ❤80's😎👍
and the coolest part about the car that Played Ecto-1A is that sony remembered that they had it, got it up and running with a much more reliable LS3 V8 and it became the hero car for Ghostbusters: Afterlife!
did they really convert the hero car into the afterlife car? I hope not... Although the afterlife car is great, the original Exto-1 should (have) remain)ed_ it's true origin.
Personally, my favorite car from the ‘80s is the Spinner from Blade Runner. Not only was it drivable, but during those pesky Los Angeles traffic jams, it also could fly, hover and go into a hot spin that would leave your noodle bowl all over the dashboard. I have never seen a more elegant vehicle.
Oh yes it is. A full size Spinner is hanging in a museum at the base of the Space Needle in Seattle. Deckard’s red ground car is on display at the American Police Hall of Fame and Museum near the Kennedy Space Center in Florida.
Rockford Files, character Jim Rockford, played by James Garner, drives a gold Firebird. His favorite getaway involved driving in reverse quite fast, then slip the car around to forward driving

Hey, I was looking forward to seeing the vehicles used for Automan. There was this sparkly ball called "Cursor" that would make Automan's vehicles.

I liked that show and kept wondering why they took it off the air
Yeah, I was waiting for Automan's Countach the whole time.
I was going to say exactly the same, too. Yep, they would have been good ones to see. Also the original 60's Batmobile.
Yes it was the definition of true A.I.

You also remembered cannon ball run. The Lamborghini in that movie was sick.

It can be noted that the former Airwolf-copter had taken a severely injured girl from Berlin to Cologne for specialized treatment and crashed on the way back, so it didn't go down for nothing.
Unfortunately, the three occupants on the way back didn't survive the flight into the side of a quarry
I did say it crashed :)

You are absolutely correct

@@GenXToysGeek yeah, I have a mixed relationship with the flag. As a student of the civil war the Battle Flag clearly stood for a country wishing to defend slavery and not issues raised under 1920s revisionist confederacy presentation. @@brendanhaley3668 It is bittersweet when it comes to the General Lee.
Great pick
The 80s was the decade for great TV shows and movies. My favorites were Airwolf, Blue Thunder, and the Dukes of Hazzard. I imagined myself flying those helicopters, and I loved the way the Dukes always triumphed over Boss Hogg and Sheriff Roscoe.
As for other vehicles (and I'm being somewhat obscure here), how about Boss Hogg's Cadillac convertible and the station wagon from Karate Kid (that needed a push start when it broke down)? Just a thought.
Staying with "The Karate Kid" you could include the "1947 Ford Super De Luxe" (the car Mr. Miyagi gives to Daniel).
That's a bunch of research time.
Thanks, I appreciate it.
The M4S Interceptor from the Wrath is awesome ! 440 HP from a 2.2L twin cam turbocharged beast of a motor. Too bad it never got mass produced, just a 1 off Pace Car. Then there is Air Wolf, nothing more needs to be said.
Great picks!
I’m impressed that you remembered Tales of the Golden Monkey and Street Hawk. But you missed BJ and the Bear which ended in 1981, and Innerspace. I lusted after that 500hp Mustang convertible pseudo-Shelby when I was a teenager.
can't have everything
Also ‘Auto-Man’.
Great list. Airwolf is close to my heart too here. One you missed though: The Viper.
Viper is 90s. Will most likely do a 90s version of this.
@@GenXToysGeek Didn't realize that. For me Viper was just always right next to Street Hawk. Looking forward to your 90s video then.
90's show :-) This one was about 80's movies and series. Hopefully he'll do a 90's one too!
love these vechiles from these shows
IIRC, when fitted with all it's screen props, the "Airwolf" Bell 222 proved to be more aerodynamic than the original Bell 222 it was based on.
HAHAHAHAHA
From what I recall, the Airwolf helicopter was used by a German medical EMS service for 6-8 years. The chopper crashed in a 🏔 wreck killing the pilots & air crew, EMTs. Nothing of the aircraft was recovered. I'd add Airwolf 🐺 was used in 1 brief NBC-Miami Vice scene but none of the weapons(missiles 🚀) or chain guns were used.
@@DavidLLambertmobile Correct
Airwolf wasn’t a 222 but a 222B. The 222 was a bit smaller. Still, she’s a beautiful aircraft.
U
In answer, YES! I remember "Cutters Goose". "Tales of the Gold Monkey" is one of my all time favorite TV shows. Such a crime that it was so short lived. Thank you for including it.
Glad you enjoyed!
There's a great James Bond collection and a personal collection in Orlando. It is amazing. Micheal Dezer owns the entire collection. Truly amazing
I heard about that, grat collection!
I visited in February, seriously the most amazing place they have every movie car you can think off.
I actually loved those Battlestar Galactica motorcycles and think they still look good today,
I have a certain fondness to them as well
and the coolest part about the car that Played Ecto-1A is that sony remembered that they had it, got it up and running with a much more reliable LS3 V8 and it became the hero car for Ghostbusters: Afterlife!
did they really convert the hero car into the afterlife car? I hope not... Although the afterlife car is great, the original Exto-1 should (have) remain)ed_ it's true origin.
Personally, my favorite car from the ‘80s is the Spinner from Blade Runner. Not only was it drivable, but during those pesky Los Angeles traffic jams, it also could fly, hover and go into a hot spin that would leave your noodle bowl all over the dashboard. I have never seen a more elegant vehicle.
Great pick! Unfortunately it's no longer with us.
Oh yes it is. A full size Spinner is hanging in a museum at the base of the Space Needle in Seattle. Deckard’s red ground car is on display at the American Police Hall of Fame and Museum near the Kennedy Space Center in Florida.
I’ve been to the Volo museum in Illinois and they had a lot of those cars there too
My favorite from the 1980's would have to be AIRWOLF. To me it wasent a car or anything like that it was a helicopter that could go really fast :)
great pick
I was always a Blue Thunder fan because of the grittier look but AirWold wins on theme song
Great List! The 1979 Dodge Power Wagon from Simon & Simon was my favorite.
Rockford Files, character Jim Rockford, played by James Garner, drives a gold Firebird. His favorite getaway involved driving in reverse quite fast, then slip the car around to forward driving
Great intel!
That maneuver was known as the "J Turn"
I guess that barely qualifies as an 80s series since it ended in 1980.
very well done! I watched this on my Fire TV stick and came here to post and give a thumbs up 😊
