- First time in the 1983 film when Murphy(Roy Scheider) meets the annoying Colonel Cochrane, and gives a great comeback to the above line...
When I was a kid I had to package hundreds of envelopes with promotional materials(like posters) for this films UK release! - Розваги
"Well well..look who it isn't..." CLASSIC!
A very underrated movie that is highly entertaining.
These two actually became good buddies on and after this movie.
Haha.. I love this dialogue!! Both Scheider and McDowell are brilliant!
I was sad to hear Scheider passed away yesterday.. :-(
Too bad Rod Scheider was such an underrated actor, although he used to deliver great performances in the movies he made!
Dude, this movie had three of some of my all time favorite actors: Roy Scheider, Malcolm McDowell, and Warren Oates.
Oates is good in his supporting role. Blue Thunder was good but it seems simplistic & hacked together when you watch it ten or twenty years later
DL Lambert Not to me. It’s still just as funny & entertaining as it was when I first saw it in 1982.
Also great to see a young Daniel Stern as Murphy’s rookie partner.
Something about this film is it has a fantastic script.
Malcolm McDowell...is...awesome!
R.I.P. Roy Scheider
Nov. 10, 1932 - Feb. 10, 2008
Thank you so much for making some excellent films (The French Connection, Jaws, Marathona Man, Sorcerer, All That Jazz, Blue Thunder, 2010, The Russia House and Romeo Is Bleeding)
RIP ROY!
"...YOU flew it..." ~ROFLMAO~
12 SHARP. Great Movie. Great Actors. Blue Thunder Was Awesome. Especially Since It Was Filmed in Downtown Los Angeles And Surrending areas.
Great "Chemistry"👍 👌These characters want to kill each other
Great movie! I remember seeing it in the theatre when it first came out in 1983.
01:18 well a sophisticated helicopter with just a 20-mm Vulcan cannon wouldn’t be enough in Vietnam during the War.
Don't forget Warren Oates! He was a great actor to.
R lee Emery would have been great in a remade version. RIP Gunny...
"Catch ya later!"
You flew it didn't you?.
I laughed when he went to sabotage Murphy's Jet Ranger. He just pulled off the cotter pin,and loosened the nut with his fingers. Lol. I wonder if somebody in the shop got fired for not torquing those nuts properly
Probably that asshole mechanic that called Lymangood a “No nuts cop”.
Lymangood (typing): "Cochrance . . . FE. What's the 'FE' stand for?"
Murphy: "'Fuck Everybody'"
Gonna miss ya Roy R.I.P
ロイ・シャイダーのかっこよさ!!
マルコム・マクダウェルの鼻につく嫌味な雰囲気が良いね!!
そしてコクランの決めゼリフのCatch you later!!
Roy Scheider probably wished he that thing in the JAWS movies.
Do you think you can fly it?
Nope, never had a lesson
Brad Waltz Magnum Force quote. Haha.
You can understand Murphy's explanation of Cochrane's initials! Can you imagine this guy in a room with Tolian Soren?!
Best Scene :D
12 Sharp. LMAO
1:42 LOL
Sam Sonn Catch you later.
“We’re following his leader!”
Cochrane: Could've used this in Nam, hmm?
Murphy: Could've used something...
Damn, some serious shit went down went between them in Nam... Also, look at the patch- Air Cav! Jeez, can't imagine what they went through...
They show some quick flashbacks of Cochrane committing a war crime. He also tried to have Murphy court martialed. So it’s no wonder Murphy hates his guts.
Imagine this fight: Roy Shieder vs. Malcolm McDowell vs. John McClain vs. Sean Bean (As Sharpe) vs. Jack Bauer vs. Chuck Norris.
I think that would be judgement day!
Hi Hi Hi Mr Deltoid!
Candy was hotttt!!!
"Catch you later, Murph!!!!"
"Twelve sharp, Alex and fuck you too Dr. Loomis 2!"
"You don't like my chopper old chap? Well, go back to chuming shit on medium sized boats Chief Brody!"
does Roy S have a British accent in this one?
A Chaps no he’s mocking Cochran.
“Twelve sharp!” 😄
@BADALASS Also Caligula.
4 dislikes had their 240p 0:14 balls for breakfast.
Are Malcolm McDowell and Roddy McDowell related ?
No not related at all and different spelling of the last name
@rohanmarkjay
he's not t"the british guy" simply.,.he's the mitical malcolm mc dowell,"alex" in clocwork orange, the movie
If you want a sophisticated bad guy you need a brit, and Mr Clockwork Orange is spot on. Catch you later! Blue thunder looks a lot like the Apache (at least the canopy.. eh the front?) which was launched in .. anyone? Trans Am is still cool.
Cat you later!

At no time is it implied in this film that Malcolm McDowell's character is a British Officer. He is an American Colonel. Although there is no back story created, it is simply left to the viewer to decide why he has a British accent. Rather than some secret British society running the US is it not more feasable for McDowell's character to have been the son of an American diplomat who was posted in UK during his childhood, or the son of an Anglo-American marriage, raised in the UK?
Ulster Groundhopper plenty of brits join the US military.
I think its just explained he was a uk citizen who was naturalized. He may have come to the USA after W W ll. I saw foriegn or immigrant soldiers in my enlistment. Its rare but not unheard of.
When they run his background on their test flight, he comes up as born in Luton, England in 1939. Maybe Mom married an American after the war.
If Cochrane was American born but spent all his life in the UK he could still join the US Army.
@@healthycigarettes5088 Yep. Great example might be one or two members of the band America, Who were British born and lived there until teenage but were the kids of US servicemen stationed in the UK.
Is this the same set from 2010 or what?
@imgone54321 That was Dirty Harry, Magnum Force.
Why is cochrane English? Isn't he suppose to be an American officer?
Jeroen Stobbe English officers join the U.S. it’s not common but it does happen.
I always took that the character went to West Point or was a naturalized citizen. He does a good role in Blue Thunder. In SE Asia Murphy may have been a Army Warrant officer & that was his commanding officer, capt or major.
@@DavidLLambertmobile Commissioned officers must be US citizens. When Lymangood runs the background on Cochran, it says he was born in England in 1939. Maybe his mother married an American after the war.
except the UK of course.
Jaffo not this time.... Planning Office.

malcolm mc dowell myticla villain )
👉 Catch you later
And to think this movie is going to be remade using a Drone instead of a Helicopter...Ultra FAIL!!!
Delete Chuck and everything is fine.
